L. B.Excellent garden centre with a great selection of plants at competitive prices.
Lovely cafe opened up with a lovely choice of hot and cold meals and great cakes.
Staff in cafe seemed to be having a bad day as only the lady on till seemed to be happy to be there.
Rest of Staff in garden centre friendly and who I presumed to be the owner ,manning till,was friendly and very helpful.
J. L.Me and my wife were in the area in our campervan, and dropped off there to have breakfast. And the food was excellent, and the staff were really nice, and helpful. We had a bit of business to attend to so we had to leave after breakfast. But we went back later after our business was complete. As we liked the look of the place, and some of the stuff they had. We ended up meeting the owner Gordon, who was so nice and helpful choosing a couple of beautiful tree shrubs called Red Robin, and also a beautiful bird bath, and a couple of planters. We left there very happy 😊 with our purchases. Over all its a lovely little garden centre. Kind regards Mr and Mrs Lincoln-Price.

J. R.Parking up was a issue at first. Took a while to find a spot. No disabled spots. I'm in a wheelchair so was very difficult.
Looking at the garden centre I was worried because it looked quite small and worried incase I wouldn't get around in my wheelchair. But I was pleasantly surprised.
They had everything from cards, paint, eggs, tools, plants, cakes, veg, plant pots and even furniture. The cafe was open due to the restrictions. I haven't been in a cafe in over a year I've been shielding. They were brilliant very friendly and space for wheelchairs. They had gf and vegan options
Inly thing that was worrying was the lack of masks from staff and also customers. No signs to mention masks. Which made me quite uncomfortable. I will come back again it's a lovely garden centre very impressed

M. P.I've been using this centre for a few years. Called in today and the floor staff were very helpful. Usually the people on the pay desk are polite and friendly but today a middle aged lady on the till didnt have the courtesy to say any pleasantries such as Hello, Please or Thank You.

T. S. G.A wonderful garden centre run by lovely people who go out of their way to help. When they didn’t have what I desperately needed the lovely guy went and found it locally and dug it up for me. I don’t think he will ever know just how much comfort he gave to a grieving mother and father that day.

M.Great place for plants etc, lots of choice and good variety. Nice coffee shop and food looked good but... Vegetarians beware, we asked for a vegetarian breakfast which is on the menu, to be informed (only after I had asked) that the breakfast was cooked on same hot plates as meat products! Not really a veggie sausage if it's got meat fat all over it. So, we just had a coffee which was good. Just something to be aware of. Should be taken off the menu, cooked separately or it should state that it's cooked with meat products. Other than that, we enjoyed looking around.

Car park is a bit tight and small. The cafe is the same as the car park,tightly packed in and small.

n. e.Just returned home from here, very nice addition from the last time we visited (a while ago) is the cafe. Only had a latte today but the food prices are very reasonable compared with other garden centres. Staff are friendly. Well stocked shop as always. We will return again even if it's just for a quick coffee. 5 star.

M. T.A truly fantastic garden centre, 5☆ . Plant quality is superb. A wide variety of shrubs, plants and trees to choose from. Very friendly family run centre, not your average run of the mill chain centre. Staff are always there to help and have such lovely manners, always smiling.
Coffee shop has a lovely selection of snacks, sandwiches, cakes, treats, tea and coffee of course! Amongst all sorts of other goodies.

K. O.I dealt with Alex, at a time where we are experiencing social distancing I was wanting to keep occupied at home and wondered if I could get some plants for the garden. I had no need to worry Alex stayed in contact with regards to deliveries they were getting and when they could deliver to me.
The service was 2nd to none I for one would recommend this garden centre to anyone and will use this place far more often. Massive thumbs up.

We were blessed with warm sun on first official day of Spring and could bask on the terrace. Toilets not marvellous but building work under way so things could change soon. No bike stands but not a big problem for us outside. Will use again.

J. D.This is an old style garden center with a fantastic cafe. The homemade cakes are just too too much. Too too damn nice. Prices are not too bad and myself and my father managed lunch and drinks for about 20 quid Inc cake. Not bad at all.p plenty of parking and just off the A1. Makes a good Sunday afternoon out. Say hello to the resident rat catcher and he like his belly rubbing unlike most. Just make sure it's the cat and not the gardener !
G. F.It's small and compact prices are about the same as most garden centres but some are cheaper! So it's worth the trip! Cafe cheap on food full breakfast £5.99 where as a main is only £6.95 it's clean and a nice atmospher it has a good displays of garden furniture not to big and not too small

R. D.Not really trolley friendly but a lot of heavy stuff is outside, so if you need to use a trolley load it up outside in the carpark and go to the checkout without the trolley and tell them what you've got and pay for it.

After (stupidly) visiting another local Garden centre to purchase some extra Christmas decorations and feeling rather put off by the prices, we decided to see what Lumby had in stock. We weren't disappointed, we got 3 excellent products for the price of one from the other place.

Just got a takeaway soya cappuccino with proper froth (which is very hard to do) well done Lumby.
m.The cafe was nice, great homage food of brilliant quality. But as a garden centre it is quite lacklustre. Doesn't have s wide variety of plants. Great soil options though.

s.Small but very good garden centre, quite a good selection of plants, nice cafe as well.
C. L.Café is great, but I have been told by people I trust that the lasagne and the cottage pie are best avoided. Garden shop is good if a little haphazard and a little on the expensive side.

Edit. I now use Lumby GC all the time. My local one a mile away never has anything in and lacks plant knowledge. Nothing is too much at Lumby GC. Helpful and always get good advice.

s. m.I'm not really a garden centre kind of person. I don't like gardening, garden equipment, or even gardens. I was dragged here by my wife and in laws, and was pleasantly surprised by the place. I can't comment too wisely about the selection of hosepipes and fertiliser and shovels and such, because I don't care and didn't notice. I highly recommend the spotless cafeteria though - which sold me a large mug of strong tea and a massive bacon sandwich for a very reasonable price, which I enjoyed in the sunshine in the outside seating area. Full marks then, Lumby Garden Centre, for your excellent breakfast snacks - but you lose one star because my daughter's Cornetto exploded into crumbs when we opened it in the car

G. M.Great stopover just off A1. Much preferred to motorway services. Friendly comfortable cafe, with good food, although a little over cooked lasagna (probably reheated) but tasted home cooked. Curry tasty, rice not forked to fluff up and naan bread quite crispy. Good latte and easy listening music from a retro Juke box! Would give 9 out of 10 if I could!

C.This is a relatively small garden centre but, as I'm not into playing with my perenials or fiddling with my fushias (I prefer mine in a vase), this review is about it's self-proclaimed five star coffee shop. Now, I am NOT easily pleased and when the lesser half and I rocked up on Good Friday it was, understandably, very busy. The thing about running an eatery effeciently is to make sure tables are clean at ALL times. We had to share our table with a leftover salad and an assortment of admittedly rather cute little relish thingys. I struggled to appreciate the five star element, given that we had to order at the counter and then wait 20 minutes for our coffee to make it's epic journey three feet from said counter to our table. But....the cake! Mine was lemon, a triple decker with a lemon filling, frosting and icing. Fluffy, floaty cloads come to mind when I remember the uber-soft sponge with not a hint of typical coffee shop staleness. The lesser half opted for an equally fresh, squishy sponge in her bakewell cake. At £2.50 a pop, it was an exquisitely fresh, dreamy, top-notch bargain. Add to that a couple of decent coffees and...there's the five stars. It loses a star from me because they took a while to bring our order - and even forgot our cake! Forgetting the coffee's one thing, but forgetting the CAKE....I mean, come on! This is a very reasonably priced place - a bacon sandwich is only £2.95 and looks scrummy - so you have to try it.. What could be better than having fun with your hardies over a bacon butty or cake??
