Reviews of Dobbies Garden Centre Stapleton
L. R.
Beautiful garden centre! Beautiful displays, both inside and outside. Small aquatic section, but lovely to see healthy happy fish. Plenty of car parking spaces, even on a wet day when the store was quite busy! Will definitely be returning when I am next in the area!
M. P.
Dobbies is always one of my favourite places visit with my little girl and or with my mum.
We love the flowers, the plants and my daughter gets very excited about making the garden look beautiful.
Of course when you go to Dobbies you have to have a tea and cake or a meal and the food is always amazing! My daughter (she is 9) lives a scone with cream and a hot chocolate.
The staff are always lovely and willing to do whatever they can to help.
Keep up the good work.
A. M.
It's a lovely garden centre, it says dogs are welcome and yet there is not one bin inside incase your puppy has an accident. The cafe area is lovely but the doggy area is being squeezed smaller and smaller with people without dogs taking up tables too even though there were tables elsewhere available. The Cafe has some lovely food and drinks on offer but they are very slow at serving and for not the first time my can if pop was warm.
J. R.
The fruit and vegetable stall is fantastic lots to choose from and always excellent quality.
Dobbies has a great choice of shops to browse, always clean and bright.
Cafe can be a little congested at busy times, but quite spacious
Easy to get pushchair in and around.
Great place to visit

Visited today for a walk around and once again ended up buying a plant I had been after for a while. The plant in question I was being priced at around the price of £30. Here we got it for £10. So was very happy. This place also has a lake land, the works and a sainsbury. Really enjoyed it.
C. W.
Fantastic place to visit. Plenty of good quality plants. There is a Lakeland, pet store and fruit and veg stall plus plenty of different shops inside, amongst them Cotton trader, Weird Fish and Pavers shoes. The restaurant does a really good deal for over 60's of a main meal and a cake for £9.99.
J. M.
Winter wonderland at this time of year. Love it.Decorations, gifts, books, so much choice. And a very nice restaurant when your ready for refreshments. Highly recommended for Christmas shopping & more.
L. S.
Attended to visit Maidenhead Aquatics, to buy replacement filters for my fish tank. But its so much more to see and do. From remodelling your garden, buying fresh food, meats, pre made meals, eating in the restaurant, there is so much to see and do.
Always go for one thing and always end up staying for at least an hour and buying food, plants, fish proctucts, eating there, clothes, garden equipment, literally limitless in what you can see and do. Turns a shopping visit into an afternoon of entertainment and enjoyment.
Can not recommend you to visit this place, highly enough. Truly lovely place to visit, shop or spent time. Always a wonderful experience.

Used to love going to Dobbies and having a drink and snack in the cafe. After today's visit I don't think I'll bother again. The cafeteria staff, and one 'lady' in particular totally spoiled the experience to the point that I didn't even bother queueing for a coffee. This particular 'lady' serving in the cafe has one very big chip on her shoulder it would seem.
Come on Dobbies, get your staff sorted out and hire people that actually want to work for you, otherwise you are going to lose many more customers.
B. S.
Apart from looking at Christmas decorations, etc, no different from other dobbins garden centre.
I preferred it when it was Woodlands Garden Centre as they did a good display and had animations and displays you could look at.
They also had independent stalls for cakes, cheeses, etc, but now it's all Sainsbury which is a disappointment
J. P.
It was incredibly busy. We went to use the walk in centre for our covid jabs. We drove around for a while to get a disabled parking space and then it was so busy we decided against going in. I'm not very mobile and it just looked frantic.
D.
Nice place. Mostly Christmas stuff at the moment as to be expected. Quality fruit and veg to buy outside and a few other shops including the garden centre. A nice morning or afternoon visit.
I. C.
Really nice and the Grandkids seem to enjoy themselves . A bit pricey( but aren't all garden centres ?? ) and we had a lovely time walking around the grounds . Very nicely laid out and well worth a visit .
R. W.
Great at this time of year we always go here for our baubles, Christmas decorations, meat, presents and pet gifts too. Lovely festive feeling.
E. M.
Often visit here and throughly enjoy having a good look around the huge variety of products. Brilliant place and I love having a cup of tea and cake. Fish and chips too.
D. E.
This is the first time I'd been here since it became a Dobbies and something just felt a little off. We took our nipper to the softplay for a while to burn off some energy, and it would benefit from a little staff presence as there were a couple of feral kids older than the recommended age ( 8 years and under) throwing balls and foams about with no regard for the nippers on there. I'm also gutted that they've now got their integrated Sainsbury's and have removed the lovely deli/ meringue counter that was there. I think perhaps a lick of paint and general refurb is due as the place looks quite tired in places.
L.
We had festive afternoon tea yesterday and it was fabulous, nothing was too much trouble and everyrthing was fresh and tasty.
Make sure you book online.
J. B.
Lots to see, rather expensive, avoid weekend breakfast times as you might get fed by lunchtime. Great butchers though and lovely to see dogs walking all around too.
R. W.
Food was a bit lack luster but the garden centre itself wad filled with lots of different shops and things to browse. Perfect for a day with the grandparents.
P. G.
Went for their Xmas meal it was very good the staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a family get together they moved the tables around so we could all sit together 👍
R. H.
Café - Reasonable food at upper quartile prices. The ordering and payment process of your food order must be the slowest, least efficient of any that I have ever experienced.
L. M.
Love this place. There is a good variety of products from plants, equipment, deco to clothing and on-site restaurant + cafe. They also have garden furniture too and a food shop. They have a huge variety of fish tanks and fish as well.
The food is great and the destination is popular with all ages.
Would have been a 4 star but for the staff. Some are welcoming and others seem to be there only for a wage (neutral to negative attitude towards non regular customers esp at the ready-made food counter).
Y. S.
Lovely place with plenty of choice at competitive prices. The range of plants was brilliant and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The cafe was clean, well staffed and very accommodating. One of the staff offered to carry my tray as I had a guide dog puppy with me too. I would recommend a visit
V. R.
We recommend highly and thanks to Jess who served and ended buying more then we hoped for well done to Jess
M. P.
Love shopping here with my partner, lots to look at, affordable, great sales now and then, nice cafe, friendly staff, well worth calling in.
B.
Huge garden centre with other franchises on site (Lakeland, Sainburys, Mountain Warehouse etc)
Fabulous Christmas range of goods including Santa's grotto. Prices are maybe not as 'keen' as they could be.
D. P.
Lots of lovely Christmas gifts and a wide variety of choice, including jellycat plush toys!
J. M.
Great place to find plants but also has loads of other retail outlets within the business. There's a nice cafe with toilet facilities and a particularly good retail place for pond and aquarium fish.
K. P.
Dobbies Hickey is the best I've been too, much better than my local one in cirencester
A. P.
Absolutely love this garden centre, it has a great selection of plants, pots, garden furniture. It has some lovely indoor plants as well which are unusual and make great presents. The staff are always really friendly and helpful.
L. S.
A lovely afternoon tea spoilt by the obvious wasp problems. Our reserved table was surrounded with dead ones. We moved tables, but were still plagued with them. Only the customers acknowledged there was an issue and tables were left uncleared which made the problem worse.
J. B.
Dreadful,
We used to love a drive over from Nottingham, however we went on Sunday 7th August and it was terrible.
The restaurant area now has a " Dog friendly area", oh my god how ridiculous is that.
It's not that me and the wife don't like dogs, however we did used to like going for a quiet breakfast or even just a quiet coffee.
The chorus of dogs continually barking was so bad we left without even finishing.
Come on Dobbie's sort it out.
J. W.
Love to have a walk round, go to restaurant for a treat, but found it quite expensive last time. £6.95 for a panini. Quite steep. Will refrain from visitng restaurant next time i pop in.
S. S.
Big place with a good range of products.
Clothing shops and a supermarket located on site, cafe, large car park.
Can get busy.
J. H.
Extremely cold and the coffee shop really needs sorting.Long wait to get served so slow.Suggest more staff and better organisation.
S. M.
Great place. Would of enjoyed lunch far better if it had got to us quicker just like warm staff either overworked or just slow.
S. B.
I absolutely love this garden centre it's actually quite cheap I go here often, one of my favourite places to go, definitely recommend.
V. G.
Good service excellent choice for lunch. Recomend the Fish Finger Sandwich with Salad on Brown and a Hazelnut Latte. Delicious
G. M.
Great place if you want a place to visit for shopping and a bite to eat
J. P.
I love this place. Great selection of plants. Some reasonably priced. Always reduced plants so if you have green fingers you could make them flourish. Restaurant is great. Especially the 2 for 1 scones daily after 2pm. Scones are freshly baked and are always delicious. Helpful staff always willing to help if you need it. Overall I would recommend a visit. Also the fruit and veg stall outside is amazing. Everything looks so yummy, the owners are lovely and always great value.
T. W.
This is a really good garden centre and I love the cafe there and it is dog friendly. All good.
D. G.
Clean well stocked garden centre, cafes/ restaurant and shops. Plenty of good bargains around as well .Lots of lovely indoor plants available.
J. H.
Fantastic selection of everything. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and seem to genuinely care about customers.
L. R.
Join the the clubcard plus and get two free coffees a month, well worth it, plus discount vouchers through post to collect points
T. R.
Lovely place, lovely food, lovely stuff for sale
The only catch is the price of most things
G. W.
A good place to get gardening stuff, cafe very good, staff are excellent, also has Lake land and other shops
K.
A fab little centre, there's The Mountain Warehouse, a specials pet shop, Lakeland Plastics, The Works and then the garden centre. Within the garden centre were other little outlets selling clothing, shoes and gifts. You can spend hours here and also lots of money. It's also dog friendly. There is a large grassy area at the back end of the car park for doggy 'wee' stops.
b. s.
Good now they have an area for doggies 🐕 so you can sit with your hound & have a coffee or something to eat.
& your dog can socialise as well.
C. G. (.
Really enjoy coming here at Christmas time. It packed full of various things not all to do with the garden. There is something for fish lovers, cats, dogs and small furries. Clothes, shoes, books and various other stalls. The indoor food market is fab. Can't beat a lovely cupcake or two 😄. Well worth a trip out and not just for Christmas.
D. E.
Lovely place to visit. Dog friendly too. Good food in the cafe.
M. D.
Great atmosphere, lovely staff in the restaurant, great food and I was served at the main tills by a wonderful, funny, helpful colleague named Maggie. An asset to your company. My large boulders look fantastic now they are concrete in my garden. Happy returning customer.
G. H.
Nice relaxing shopping experience, the food was excellent, staff really helpful.(Amanda) 👌
A. 2.
Great garden centre with lots for all... dog friendly child friendly and a great selection for all your needs.
D. B.
Great garden centre, restaurant has excellent tasty food & all staff very knowledgeable & helpful. Would highly recommend.
We visit on a regular basis, wouldn't consider going anywhere else 👍
S. L.
Great place to visit lots to see and also nice cafe
H. T.
Lovely food and yummy coffee! Nice place to meet and have lunch
C. N.
Love this place visit most weeks, but today it was freezing in there felt so sorry for the poor staff having to work in it. No one should have to work in those conditions.
J. R.
The garden center and cafe as always are very good.
The toilets are disgraceful, please please please update, and clean the toilets, they are terrible and very smelly.
This let's the center down massively.
M. C.
Layout is a little confusing. Car parking is good. Prices are very high on the items we checked during the visit. It was OK but I will not bother again as nicer and cheaper centres are located around my local area.
R. S.
Very well stocked garden centre with not only plants, shrubs and garden items for sale but lots of other retail products for spendaholics to blow their cash on ! Purchased a garden table and two matching chairs on our recent visit. Received a lot of good help from Tom who advised and assisted us with our purchase. 18th February 2022 - I have just updated my previous review from 4 to 5 stars as we have been there to-day and to take advantage of offers available to us as Club Plus members. We enjoyed a brilliant meal in the restaurant and got 20% off in the garden centre. Fantastic! Update: went again 14.04.22 and enjoyed our complimentary cups of coffee as Dobbies Plus card holders. It was noticeable that prices had gone up in the Garden Centre and some items appeared to be very much dearer than we had been accustomed to seeing; with the way inflation is raging upwards this is hardly surprising but it does make some things appear to be more like luxuries for everyday folk who will be concerned about fuel costs at the pumps and the spiralling cost of their gas and electricity. Visited again on 28.07.22-still 5 star here. Great products. Lovely helpful staff. Visited again : enjoyed lovely coffees and took advantage of brilliant 20% off promotion for Club Plus cardholders! Update: still great on 06.12.22!
S. P.
Had a nice leisurely walk around the centre .with a lovely cup of coffee at the end. Very nice place.
j. a. S.
Loved it. They have an incredible array of house plants and also a wide range of outdoor plants etc.
They have an amazing deli and a butcher to die for plus a great household section including gifts and novelty items.
It also has a large petshop and café .
It is all on one level so easy for wheelchairs ♿️.
I find it a little on the expensive side but definitely worth a visit.
A. B.
Lots different range of plants and trees..
Good range of different food as well..
Best Garden centre in the area..
J. P.
More than just a garden center good in-store shops and surrounding shops
W. E.
Very clean they actually have warm water in the facilities as and the hand drier blows warm air not cold so actually dries your hands. They have a large selection of plants indoor and out as well as a variety of other shops inside the centre as well. Parking is easy and plentifull and everything is well signposted. Would recommend but allow a couple of hours for a visit, it will be time well spent.
C. N.
Very slow to check out in the restaurant after ordering food.
Food was quite good.
H. E.
Great garden centre and if you hunt around you can get a few rescue plants at a discounted price 🪴 😀 👍. Good to window shop, has lots of seasonal features and is just good to wander around. Cafe is good too 😋. Try the one next door too, Green Acres is also very good 👍.
S. S.
Very nicely set out ..although I did feel a little expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for.
r. s.
Quite busy as it always is juring the day as got different shops inside and variety
a. l. e. k.
This is a good garden 🪴 centre. Lovely staff always there to help plant 🌱 s can be very dear and the cafe is great but very expensive but it’s a garden centre and it’s like that every where Since we got back to normal because of Covid how much garden centre lost money. Ps in the restaurant/cafe there a play Area for kids if u what a break why drinking and eating 🍽. Car parking is good
M. R.
Just the same as last year
Good selection of Christmas decorations
A. C.
Nice garden centre, a little expensive, lost it's character in recent years since it lost it's independence
c. s.
Absolutely brilliant place ! So many good quality items on show and an exceptional butchers with 4☆ rated produce displayed beautifully... clothing, books & stationary, children's toys, home essentials and more. Mountain warehouse and Lakelands on site and when your done a lovely cafe to sit and have a hot drink and a bite to eat .
Definitely recommended
S. J.
Big Garden centre also meals and coffee served here also started doing a high tea in the afternoons, lots of others shops inside cotton traders, weired fish, meat counter and a Sainsburys mountain Warehouse and the works plus a fruit and veg stall
C. C.
Real great time whent to see Santa with granddaughter she love it.
C. C.
Excellent selection of outdoor and indoor plants. Well designed for easy access to all areas, different shops to go to as well for a all round shopping experience. Staff friendly and helpful.
A. B.
Great selection in Dobbies and in all the other shops in there too. Well worth a visit. The restaurant makes a damned good sandwich too !
J. W.
Busy. Beautiful Christmas displays. On the coldest day of the year the heating was not working!!!.
S. F.
Great shopping and also a great design and a very good service
T. D. G.
Generic garden centre, but with a few decent concessions. So good for gardens and most things that go with it.
D. B.
Always enjoy coming to dobbies with my friend and enjoying a cuppa and cake 🎂
A. I.
Enjoyed my visit. Lunch was very good and plentiful. Very good choice of plant's even at this time of year. I liked the fact that there was plenty of room to walk around shop and a good selection of items. Would visit again will be when all plant's are ready for summer
L. P.
Expensive and nothing really new or innovative same stuff as the next garden centre but clean and tidy staff were helpful
J. M.
Went lunchtime today it was busy. Huge queue for meals. We had scones & coffee so went in the small queue. Prob not enough staff working during this busy time. Coffee & food very nice. The fabric chairs at the tables are filthy, badly stained and in urgent need replacing with wipe clean fabric.
G. S.
Good parking, plenty of different outlets, easy to get to.
R. M.
Nice garden centre but such miserable staff members , go to Swalkstone nursery far more helpful and happy.
s. k.
You will be spoilt for choice whether its plants bbq or garden furniture clothes or food and there is a nice restaurant
E.
Service very slow in cafe, and the teapot was to small and leaked from lid and spout when pouring. Further to my review I have to say that the overall plant care needs improvement lots of dry and unloved plants for sale and rather expensive aswell
J. C.
Lots of choice for plants, tools furniture, and all you could want for your garden plus other outlets on site.
J. F.
Large garden centre, good range of plants on display looking healthy. They do have several clearance or sale sections with plants that are past their prime but worth a look as those with green fingers can usually save them. Plenty of equipment and tools on display from well known brands. Pet supplies store, clothing, shoes, The Works and others. Didn't try the cafe as it was busy at the time. Oh yes, a selection of serious of BBQs as well as stationery, toys, jigsaws and cards. Plenty here to look at and buy. Good parking.
B. N.
Our favourite go to place, lunch is great fish nd chips to die for, and plenty of plants and stores to browse.
I. H.
We went to the Puppy Classes held at Pets corner in store. It was absolute bliss watching all the pups playing together. The Staff there are fantastic so Helpful and always ready to assist with any queries. We return on a regular basis almost now to see the staff and purchase our Pups needs keep it up Girls great job 😉
J. M.
We enjoy visiting here it's dog friendly area for a cup off coffee etc is essential for us. The Christmas Nativity display is outstanding x
V. T.
Fantastic place. Lots of things to look at, everything you need in one place. Some things are expensive but there is lots of affordable stuff too. Loved looking at the fish in Maidenhead aquatics. Lovely butchers. Cafe is nice, fair prices, lovely and clean. Nice outdoor plants area and inside.
C. E.
Bit pricey but what large garden centre isn't? Good range of all garden products and other in-store franchises.
Cafe is decent enough but they seem to have way too many staff not actually doing much so the queue is always slow.
N. R.
5 Star rating is for Andrew in the cafe, polite, pleasant young man doing his job quietly and diligently. People in this role are often overlooked so Andrew hope you see this and your employers too. You keep it spotless and are a pleasure to speak to.
E. W.
Great place, got a sale on so better prices
D. W.
Well set out garden centre with an aquatic dept and various shops inc Sainsburys which a found rather strange.
D. E.
Love this place. Lots of choice, friendly and helpful staff. The cafe is very clean, quick service, food is fresh and very tasty.... we keep going back.
B. H.
Usually go to the cafe and have a wander around. Always something to have a look at. Cafe can get very busy as it's so popular. If they have enough staff on its not normally an issue but sometimes it can take a while to get your meal. I like having the mini Sainsbury's in house, it's great to pick up something I've forgotten.
L. W.
Dobbies is very overpriced, especially considering that there is a much better garden centre on the road.
Staff are always very friendly though and they have a wide range of products.
The Deli is great too.
Considering that the majority of their customers seem to be OAPs, they dont have nearly enough disabled parking lots, so on many occasions we end up unable to find parent and child parking, because those spots are then taken up by people with disabled batches. Very frustrating!!
Toilet facilities arent ideal.
Cafe serves tasty food and drinks, but is very expensive and usually super full.
Wouldnt necessarily recommend going there.
Nice pubs and another nice garden centre on the same road.
G. B.
Food hall service slow. Rest good
K. S.
Not as good as it used to be. Pricey too. Plenty of other nurseries around if you want competitely priced quality plants.
K. O. (. S.
Nice store, staff can be hard to find and the toilets are disgusting. Love the works in there though
K. S.
Such a vast selection of wonderful plants, shrubs and trees. Shopping was easy to do. Friendly helpful staff.
Car parking was hassle free.
J. N.
My main reason to visit was for Lake Land, which has had a smart refurb Not for anything else. Although I did pick up a favourite Lemon Drizzle cake 😋 up from the food hall.
S. F.
Layout a bit disorganised. Very slow service to pay in the restaurant!
No clear entrance and exits.
J. B.
This place needs organising. Food OK but service slow. Why eg lady serving coffee and cakes also serves you with cutlery after wrapping it in serviette. All takes time. Then opened 3rd till for coffee but those in 2nd queue didn't know couldn't hear that it opened so queue 2 didn't move. Ladies doing their best but no overseeing to sort it.
A. R.
Great range of plants. Reasonable prices. Nice coffee shop when it's open. Membership costs £12 but it gives you 10% off plants and free coffees on you birthday! Worth it if you're placing a large order.
When we did our garden we took our garden plan and the guys laid out all the plants we selected in the shape of our garden to help us visualise what it would look like. Lots of advice. Very helpful.
S. M.
Nice to go around but not a good experience in the restaurant. Food was only warm, border line tepid and the in/out route is highly unsuitable for disabled. We were going for lunch and parked up our trolley in the designated area, then went to order our food. That was OK as it wasn't too far to walk but when it came to leaving we had to exit across the opposite side of the restaurant and walk all the way round what felt like half the shop to be able to retrieve our trolley.
As someone with bad arthritis in my hips and pelvis, plus the fact I have a trapped nerve in my leg, it was very very painful to me to have to walk such a distance. I did try to go out the way I went into the restaurant but was stopped and told to go the other way even though they could clearly see I had a walking stick and had difficulty walking. I would go to the shop again but I'll stay away from the restaurant !!!
N. M.
Fantastic choice of plants etc but far too expensive
D. G.
Good for all garden needs deli also very nice but a bit pricey. Good value at the instore dinner as children eat free if you buy an adult meal.
a. y.
Nice garden centre with everything you need. Restaurant tends to always have a big queue unless you go late in the day.
One of the more well stocked out Dobbies that we visit, with all spaces inside the store used for something. Others seem a bit derelict and bare
D. R.
It's a brilliant place to visit reasonable prices
M. L.
Lovely to browse for gifts. Service in restaurant always a bit slow and the tuna salad was pretty uninspiring tbh. The deli is lovely and the Sainsbury's section quite a welcome addition. All in all, we'll worth a visit.
m. j.
My girlfriend just came over from Ukraine she loved it especially the aquatic section, it was very hard to get her away from the flowers in the outside section, after a very bad year in Ukraine this was just what she needed, she will be back the very excited lady sniffing flowers .
J. J.
Lovely garden centre cafe other shops as well fruit stall outside
A. W.
Only a quick visit whilst returning from an appointment in hinckley so shall return and make an more in depth review then but in first impressions I'm quite impressed. Starting at the door they offer complimentary wheelchairs for those who need one which i thought was excellent and my aunt took the offer up she was delighted. Huge place lots to offer including many extra business's located within the nursery and grounds. 2 cafes and toilets on site.
S. I.
Well stocked garden centre with good choice of plants. Good range of concessions inside and the food section seems larger with a very good range of produce. Generally everything customers might need although not necessarily bargain prices
T. L.
It's a Natiinal chain so it has a bit of everything. Pretty good selection of plants and tools. There are toys, garden furniture, cards etc. There is a WORKS,Lakeland,Weird Fish,Sainsburys, Mountain Warehouse also on site. The Cafe has a good selection of food which is quite tasty. Like all other Cafes etc prices have gone up a bit, however, the amount of food has stayed consistent unlike some places where price has rocketed but quantity has come down. My biggest issue with Dobbies is that they have taken Sainsburys in house and got rid of the independent suppliers. If you want a an hour or so out and some food Dobbies is the place for you.
S. B.
This was the setting of our first Cake Club meeting with three founder members attending we quickly found our feet and although busy we were promptly tucking in and discussing our vision of baked goods in and around Leicestershire 😀
G. W.
Very good service .just very pricy for liner etc . Not there fault. Staff very professional especially Lewis and James
A. K.
Really lovely few hours looking round, coffee & cake fabulous. xx
P. P.
Lots of choice in their plant range and some interesting shopping outlets. Staff on the meat counter very pleasant, shame the same couldn't be said for the staff on the restaurant till, she was too busy talking to her friend while taking my money and the lady who took our food order was very off hand.
P. C.
Good plant selection and decent quality.
My only minor gripe is that they don't have a separate payment station for plants and Compost. Instead you have to drag heavy trolleys through the entire (sizeable) store
A. T.
As a garden centre it's gone down since Dobbies took over. Generally it feels cluttered and over priced and why get rid of an artisan food shop that was worth traveling to and replace it with Sainsbury's, I don't understand. Luckily the butcher's is still there and as good as ever as is maiden head aquatics who seem to of improved recently, with a great selection of live stock all looking to be in good condition. Lakeland still maintains it high standards.
T. W.
Fab place. You can buy everything from plants, to furniture, to food and shoes. Great cafe too.
D. J.
Great garden centre, following all social distancing guidelines, it was very quiet when we went but it was the middle of the week. Parts of the garden centre are closed off, again, following current guidelines. There is now a mini Sainsburys now in the garden centre & the butchers is open too. Good value, they have lots of "plug" plants available. I would definitely recommend it
M. S.
A typical Dobbies garden centre with good carparking, loads to look at and buy.The café is very good with some nice cakes on display. This is a very big garden centre with lots to offer.
E. L.
Fantastic range of everything you might want for your garden. Dobbies also have concessions for clothing, shoes, books, stationery + much more.
J. S.
Very very busy - is it OAP Wednesday - especially ones with body odour?
Cafe crowded, tables not cleared and the toilets are a disgrace.

Christmas display was disappointing compared to when it was not a dobbies brand.
Toilets were also not overly cleab and various aspects out of order in the gents.
Rest of the garden centre is very nice on the whole.
S. b.
Went for breakfast (over cooked and dry from sitting on the hot plate) 😟
D. S.
Great place to take my mum and wife for a mooch and a coffee
S. S.
Good selection of products & franchises, but like all these large chain companies, its overpriced & staff not the best.
C. D.
Great place to shop it has everything 👍
L. G.
Lovely coffee in the restaurant, Nick served us at the till in the garden centre, lovely young man 👌 very busy, just had a drink, staff always friendly ✔️
J. R.
Highly recommended 👌 Even on winter time worth to visit a lot things to do and buy. Small kids soft play area and Santa's Grotto are a special bonuses if you're going with kids🧡
S. B.
We love dobbies. We go see several times a month just to have a look around and grab a few bargains
B. S.
Very impressive Christmas display, although not always cheap to buy. It is good for special gifts though. And the cafe/ restaurant is reasonably priced.
A. W.
Great place to meet up with friends. Coffee and a chat before exploring the variety of plants available or the many other stores inside.
A. S.
Very nice place but e expensive beautiful place
H.
Nice enough place
Lots of plants several areas looked in bad health
Had most things you need
Rather expensive
Cafe is hit n miss.
Decent range
Staff friendly which makes up for the above
S. J.
Friendly staff food arrived quickly and it was lovely
D. B.
A bit hit and miss.
Large garden centre close to Hinckley.
The good bits Large car park so easy to get parked. Good selection of plants and other goods. Pet shop is nice and sells specialist pet foods, such Arcana.
The misses - organisation of the food outlet. The cafe was closed and long queues at the restaurant. Staff working hard but organisation was awful. 20 minute queue to get a coffee and scone - needs reorganising to be more efficient and provide better service.
Decent overall but others do things better - Planters Garden Centre at Kingsbury, for example, is a better overall experience - better food and great plant selection.
C. D.
One thing that caught my eye was a pretty decent selection of indoor plants.
a. s.
Quick visit before a Christmas to see what was available in the food hall. They did have some appealing food but not what we really wanted, cheese.!! It really would benefit from a high end cheese counter that offered more than supermarket brands.
S. H.
Nice place love going, nice atmosphere with plenty to see 2 cafe's now only used too be 1..plants can be a bit pricey but worth checking out the sale plants especially if you're green fingers an can revive them .
We had snack an sandwiches, my daughter ordered a cheese an pickle when it came no cheese!!!! Took it back well not the response I expected i thought I may as well not bothered the reception of the staff.no apologies for mistake just plonked it back on the table and walked away. How rude .not sure i want to go back.
L. S.
Helps it's 5 mins away always lots of see .. costs me a fortune taking the Mrs
S. J.
Large garden/ lifestyle centre which I always visit around Xmas time with the family, co located with other retail outlets with loads of free parking. Not the cheapest place but lots to choose from to fit all budgets, Christmas trees can be purchased and come in different sizes.
L. H.
Lovely lunch there and being over 60 we got a free pastry as well !
A. W.
Generally good range & level of stock... also nice selection of other 3rd party companies (Lakeland, Mountain Warehouse, The Works etc.)
A. &. L. S.
Good selection of different shops on the site. Wide variety of plants on offer. We were pleased with our purchases. We think it is the best garden centre locally.
A. S.
Very accessible for wheelchair users. Was able to take out a temporarily incapacitated family member. Although disabled toilet was out of order.
C. S.
A nice ride out to Stapleton. Always enjoy this garden centre although some empty shelves due to seasonal changes and the fish and chips weren't up to much. Very dry and hard fish. Due to social distancing I didn't feel I wanted to rejoin the queue to complain.
We will visit again but I will be using my food vouchers at another site.
P. S.
It is one of a chain and under the present restrictions is doing as well as they can. It is usually busy with a number of franchises under its roof and also outside the building. It has a restaurant and a small coffee bar which under normal circumstances would be very busy. There is also a family butchers situated in the building and a small farm shop with an excellent independent green grocery stall just outside. You could spend quite a few hours among the excellent garden plants and shrubs outside.
C. T.
Great selection of plants. Great that you can take your dog into all the shops
H. M.
We went for breakfast this morning and dropped on that September breakfast is buy one get one free on Saturday and Sunday.
2 bacon
2 sausage
Baked beans
Grilled tomatoes
Black pudding
Mushrooms
1 slice of bloomer toast
Fried egg
£7
Still reasonably priced
Nice garden centre, plenty of choice of plants planters etc.
There are a few other shops within the garden centre and a few more outside
c. b.
What a Great garden centre, everything you could think of to do with plants under one roof. Definitely 5 Stars
M. H.
A shop that has done everything to make your shopping experience safe in the current situation we are in, except in the Restaurant and Coffee shop areas. Not enough staff. I am told they are on furlough coming back to work on Sunday next. This resulted in unnecessary queues which automatically mean a lot closer contact with others.
J. S.
I love the variety we have of The Works Coton Trader Restaurant, and of course lovely plants shrubs how to lookafter them the right compost etc.
G. A.
The cafe is very good and there is so much to do there Cottons clothes River Island plenty of plants pots water fountains its really ace
R. W.
Although busy with the car park almost full there was still plenty of space to wander around.
Plenty of open spaces for viewing plants.
Plants were selling at a reasonable price.
T. L.
Excellent facilities. Easy parking. Good selection of plants, garden equipment and ornaments. Cafe reasonable menu and prices. Only criticism is that coffee que is a little slow which means that your hot food suffers, hence four stars
A. B.
Nice garden centre. It's a large size with large car park. Also has mountain warehouse store and small sainsburys inside. You can take dogs around as well which is handy.
R. P.
Lots of space and things to look at. There a pet shop, aquarium, restaurant, has stationary, bird feeders, furniture mountain warehouse, Lakeland, fresh fruit and veg outside and a food area with fresh meats and homemade cakes, Cotton traders and pavers. Good for a few hours walk around.
R. H.
A pleasant place with franchises selling meat, cakes, wine, etc. plus birthday cards, shoes and clothes. I think it's a bit expensive but they are always quite busy. Well liked as a lunch venue with pensioners but not a place to take toddlers unless they are on a lead!
S. A.
Excellent garden centre. Plenty of choices
A. B.
Great place and a great garden centre. I lost myself in the array of variety and choice. Will keep going back if you know what I mean.
D. L.
This Dobbies Store is VERY big. I just wanted a bag of Orchid compost and I was amazed at how many different areas were inside. Shoes, clothing; stationery, a small cafe etc.& a HUGE selection of plants! I finally found the Orchid stand & bought a bag of repotting compost. The young lady at the check out was very pleasant. I retraced my steps and found my way back to my car in the huge free car park. There are other stores on this site. Lakeland, The Works & others that are grouped around the car park.
K.
Not bad. When this was an independent garden centre, you were able to get a good range of unusual plants - most of them home grown.
Wyevale took them over, and it changed. Not for the better - it was made "corporate" and lost some of its charm.
It's now owned by Dobbies, and you can see the improvement. Ok - you still have the corporate stuff, but they have a good range of pots and outdoor plants, as well as the usual stuff that you find.
The one thing that hasn't changed is the attitude of the staff. They're still as helpful as ever and will give advice on your problems.
The concessions are good - Cotton Traders, The Works and Pavers, again, all with helpful staff.
It's worth a trip, as the parking is good, and there are two places for coffee - the main restaurant, and a little coffee shop by the entrance to the undercover sales area / shop
*Edited 31/07/21
This morning, I stopped to get a coffee and a scone in the restaurant. The service was excellent, and when I asked for assistance to carry the tray (currently using a walking stick) the manager helped carry the tray for me. No questions asked and he was really helpful and friendly. Out of 10, he rates 11. THANK YOU!!!
C. P.
Food in restaurant greatly over priced for the quality provided. I wouldn't have given the side salad on my plate to a rabbit let alone a paying customer lettuce brown and limp shredded carrot dry. My advice don't bother with the salad and drop your prices.
J. S.
Brilliant garden centre. With the biggest Jellycat bunny ever!
A. C.
Experienced excellent customer service today. Despite it being my fault booking the wrong garden centre, Richard and his team went well beyond expected to ensure I didnt have two disappointed granddaughters. Thank you. Had a pleasant breakfast and was able to pick up some bargains. Overall a good shopping experience.
C. T.
Very hot inside! Pavers was great good service and shoes in the sale. I got comfy sandals so I am pleased with my visit. Very different attitude of staff one friendly and extremely helpful the other not helpful at all!
C. B.
This is an interesting and lively place, with 2 cafes and a loyalty card scheme. It makes for a pleasant way to pass a hour or so, but my problem is that the raised toilet seat in the disabled toilet is not attached, and sits in glorious isolation at the side, and the door lock is stiff and hard to manage! Disabled generally means these two facilities in particular, need to be in better than good working order!
J. G.
We went there for lunch and it was very busy, so we had quite a wait before we were served. They were advertising for staff so that's probably why. The ladies that served us, although under a lot of pressure, were very friendly and kept a cool head. The food was very nice as well!
K. P.
Variety of outlets suited me - including Lakeland & Pavey's. Easy parking & good observance of safe practice in these times.
Cafe service was a bit slow. Would have been quicker if prices were displayed while queuing.
P. B.
Spacious with a very Wide range of goods, got some great xmas presents. The butchers is very good too and fairly priced.
S. W.
I was working here recently for the card company responsible for greetings card displays.
It's a really big garden centre with plenty of choice and a restaurant. Plenty parking. Lots of things other than plants and gardening stuff. Excellent to wile away a few hours or meet up with psls for a coffee which is what I understand I should be doing now 'retired'.
P. “. G.
It's a great place to go but in the warm weather inside was vary hot. Some of the plants didn't have prices on. But I love to go and have a look round.
J. W.
Always busy. A destination shopping centre with two good value cafes and excellent soft play area for the little ones. Several high street outlet's provide interest and shopping opportunities along with a huge array of plants, trees, shrubs, bulbs, garden furniture, water features and gardening tools etc. Huge car park and still at weekends you find yourself in need of the overflow parking.
P. K.
A large garden centre with Lakeland and other outlet shops on the same site.
L. N.
There were alot of things you could do and I was there for hours, the social distancing is great but the food is very expensive. £1.90 for a cookie that was the size of the bottom of a coke can! Its a great place its just that the food is to expensive.
s. S.
Car park was busy but overall all the outlets were safe
Managed to bag a couple of bargains before Christmas 😀
Just wish you could get a hot drink while walking around the garden centre
P. R.
This is a garden centre on steroids. The plants are good and healthy and the layout is pretty much as the previous regime had it. However,
the majority of the prices were off my budget scale. The cafe was limited for choice of munchies and somewhat lack-lustre and I had forgotten about the doggy area.... I really don't like garden centres full of nick-nacks; but my lady does. I was going to settle for three stars but I've awarded an extra one for the farmers' market section. The meats, amazing pork pies, and the like are of excellent quality and surprisingly not over-priced. I even found some Walkers three-seed oatcakes mmmm.
B. W.
It's slightly down hill since it's Woodlands days but it's still ok. The mark-up on some of the items are crazy. The service in the canteen however is truly excellent.
r. f.
Great big garden centre, with all the usual for sale. Fish centre is very good. The cafe needs reorganising. The toilets are too small for the number of people. The plants are well looked after. There are many small shops there, shoes, outdoor, books, ckothing. Etc.
A. D.
Garden section was fine, but cafe was awful. The food was substandard, the service was slow and the toilets disgusting.
C. S.
Big car park, big shopping area, big cafe, big toilets (big spider in the Gents), it's er big.
Loads of choices, fresh food, clothing, shoes, art and don't forget the earth and the things you put in it, plus your pet gets a look in too, like tropical fish, the staff are very well informed. Overall a really good place for a day out.
M. W.
Thankfully they are still serving refreshments and the selection of food was good. However, the restaurant was unbelievable...slow, slow and slow. They've always been slow including pre-covid. They were that slow they had ground to a halt. Watching the staff trying to do the most simplistic task such as making a coffee is a joke; I wouldn't be surprised if there was an outbreak here. The same person who serves you is also handling the money and preparing the actual drinks. The person managing them needs to observe the staff's daily activities and develop a better system. Also, the staff seem really stressed...this isn't a good place to be in when you are public facing; thd staff looked tired, stressed and generally unhappy.
P. D. M.
An enjoyable afternoon out they have some lovely plants shrubs trees & bulbs good range of outdoor furniture as well as cards & a restaurant etc. & easy parking with ramps for those who find steps a problem
S. F.
Dog friendly with small dog friendly area in cafe.
A. P.
Very well managed, spacious covid safe is clean nice friendly staff. With a wide variety of plants. But landscaping and hardcore is expensive.
J. B.
Had lunch there today with my good lady and we were both sadly disappointed with the quality of the food. The pie was nice but the chips tasted old and the garden peas had dried out under the heat lamps as had the fish. The americano coffee was weak too. It's such a shame as we always used to enjoy the food at Woodlands. The staff are however, just as lovely as always.
L. R.
Largest garden centre I have ever seen. Good quality plants. Wide range of shops. Visited at 3pm...cakes were limited but it was probably a busy day. Would recommend
T. D.
Went here for an afternoon tea and it was amazing. The plan was to eat and then browse around the vast array of products and outlet's. The afternoon tea was so big (& yummy) we were sat eating it for 2hours - 4finger sandwiches, 3small cakes and a huge scone with jam & cream, and goes without saying tea (or coffee) 2pots each! There's a young children's soft play area which appeared very popular. Went into Maidenhead Aquatics and The Works but will be back to have more of a look. Wheelchairs freely available to borrow, a nice helping hand. Well worth a visit - you'll need a few hours or a whole day x
E. C.
For a large centre the prices were competitive and the range of plants excellent, and you don't have to fight your way round the aisles. Wish it was nearer to us.
P. K.
Lovely garden centre staff , and well kept place. The restaurant staff let the garden centre down badly. Today Jan 18th approx 10:15am there was a lady waiting to go in the soft play area which seemed to have needed 3 members of staff to crowd round. We waited for 10 minutes for them to resolve this situation to THEN be told no coffee this side. the Manager I believe was rather sarcastic and abruptly said you'll have to go other side and turned her back. We did turn round , but went out !!!
T. M.
Good range of products. Staff friendly & helpful. Decent fish & chips meal. There was a problem with tills today so staff offered to serve to table instead of queuing once paid. A couple of other shops in same complex with huge carpark. Does get busy.
B. T.
As a garden centre it is excellent and they do try to offer a safe covid controlled experience this however doesn't take into account the general public aside from using bull whips and cattle prods to herd the hard of thinking I don't see what rlse they could do to improve.
J. M.
Why do big garden centres not have air conditioning? Ridiculously hot in the restaurant. Apart from that, everything you would expect to find in a chain (Dobbies)
R. M.
Nice spacious garden centre, varied selection of goods on offer. Also has a lovely cafe/restaurant. Definitely recommend!
C. W.
Large selection of plants, all looking healthy and attractive. Nice restaurant with good coffee and tasty cream scones.
R. B.
Nice place to visit, now with sale on. But, their pricing procedure is very poor, eg'! stands mark products 'up to 50%' off, so when you go to tills, the discount could be only 5%. I wonder if customers don't pick items, just in case they aren't as cheap as they thought. Also, coffee in restaurant is produced from auto machine, not baristas, yet charge the same as other Dobbies stores that have, the coffee is also weak.
D. H.
Went here for coffee and cake with some friends, sadly, dunno why but, it took an age to get through the checkouts, and it wasn't particularly busy!!
K. W.
Since its changed hands it seems to have gone slightly down hill. Seems a bit run down,. The meals looked good and it has a very good butcher's. The soft play area was ok maybe a bit expensive at £3.50 for 90 minutes
M. L.
It as everything from clothes to planets and all I between. Restrurant is a must great prices excellent quality.
In house butchers & deli are a fav of ours.
Love the fruit & veg stall outside.
Definitely the 1 stop shop/ garden center.
T. O.
Lots of choice, different retailers and food hall, which is great. Main cafe is noisy, but small one quieter. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing. Space for wheelchairs to get around, but get there early for parking, as it gets busy, especially disabled spaces
K. F.
The plants I wanted were not available. Very slow queue for coffee, onky one person serving and at the till
J. S.
Very large choice of plants and usually relatively good value. Some items such a furnishings & outdoor items however can be extremely expensive. Wide variety of other businesses within the garden centre including shoe shops and a fantastic deli and butchery. On site resturant is usually good quality if a bit pricey. Good on site parking available butthis can get limited quickly when it gets very busy which happens more often than not.
V. L.
Really enjoyed my visit, many interesting areas to enjoy, although I am not one for just going shopping. Prices very reasonable in most areas and the foodhall very well stocked. The freshness of the meat, cakes and bread certainly was very noticable. I will be going again very soon.
Y. L.
Big shout out to Louise on customer service desk
She did her very best to help me , and I'm sorry I caused a que, I went away a very happy customer .
Thankyou
P. H.
A very large garden centre with everything that you can think of for your gardening needs! Plenty of room for car parking a cafe that serves food and drink and plenty of plants and gardening bits to sink your teeth into! Plants can be a little pricey but you can grab some great deals!
M. L.
Garden centre was fine, lots of choice - some things a bit more expensive than high street brand for brand items for weedkiller / insecticides. The Garden Restaurant disappointing, not really geared up for opening. I was there after 9.30am, no scones available, I was told up to 40 minutes wait... considering that they are open I think that there should be some available... also the chiller section for cakes was a bit sparse. Probably it would be better to go after 10.30?? Cooked breakfast was available though, but not everyone wants one...
D. C.
For years we came here for food on a trip out on a Sunday and then a few years ago they changed the layout to get more people in and spoiled it, you can see its not as popular as it used to be and we rarely eat here anymore, shame really but I suppose that's progress. Saying that there is a great selection of everything else gardening wise and some other stores as well. Great at this time of year for Christmas shopping really has become a shopping mall rather that just a garden centre. Do not be put off by the restaurant comments give it a try but its not my cup of tea.
S. U.
Great garden centre lovely shops a great butchers lovely cafe to have something to eat and drink
A. R.
The staff are friendly and helpful
The products are of a high standard
The prices are a little high but you can get some bargains
The cafe is is cosy with a good selection
S. W. (.
Absolutely huge place full of everything you need for gardening. Having the butcher's,deli, works, clothing and shoe shops as well is a major bonus. Also the aquatic center in there is excellent and always popular with everyone.
I. H.
I joined the Dobbies Garden Centre membership which was very handy ,this entitles you to discount of your purchases, as well as free tea and coffee once a month plus afternoon tea I believe which is free every 3 months need to book though
Friendly knowledgeable staff .
E. (.
Love this place. It makes a great Saturday afternoon out. Explore the garden centre, pet store, maidenhead aquatics and some good places within for a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake, or maybe even a meal. Can get very busy.
P. P.
Very nice garden centre plenty of room to walk about the restaurant is well worth the visit while walking round
b. D.
Nice place to shop and good choice available. Cafe has a good choice of hot and cold food and is very tasty
s. B.
Boiler broken so quite cool
B. A.
Used to like going here, but not the same anymore, found it to be a bit scruffy, no where near ready for Xmas, lots of shelves empty,
K. S.
Lovely place Lovely people. Myself and my daughter had a cup of tea cake and a good old chat and felt very safe there. Hopefully we'll do the same next week
B. b. L.
Plesent place to pass a couple of hours, and an enjoyable meal in the cafe, at a reduced price due to turning 60.
J. S.
The garden centre itself had a variety of plants plus almost everything you need for the garden. The other shops in the centre like The Works.. Paver Shoes .. Peacocks etc. Large car park .. restaurant .. even a fruit and veg stall outside make it well worth a visit
C. P.
Great centre offering a wide variety of products. Also has Lakeland shop and outdoor clothing shop. Recently bought out by Dobbies, so hopefully the variety and standards will remain. Also I hope they continue with the exceptional Christmas decoration sale.
A. T.
A little pricey compared to other centres. Having said that the quality of the products cant be faulted and it's a lovely layout inside. Has a small kids indoor play area and cafe. So all in all I give this the 5 it deserves.
J. H.
Great to shop, have a nice lunch, by plants and flowers, and a range of other garden related items, Great butchers shop etc. Worth a look around, you can easily spend a lot of time there mooching...
M. S.
Nice place to shop, but restaurant service is slow and food has been sitting for a while. Standard seems to have slipped since the Dobbies takeover.
P. A.
Great place for all your gardening activities. Statues, planters, plants, aquarium, aquatic etc
S. C.
Good choice but a tad expensive. Went for lunch on Sunday 30/10/22 and got food poisoning so I'm not eating there again
r. b.
This Centre is one of the best around but the price of a coffee increases on every visit. The choice has even been reduced. Medium or large which are always cold by the time you finish. BRING BACK THE SMALL COFFEE.
P. S.
Plenty of space in store (on a Saturday morning) and around the plants. Loads of choice and my wife found the sandals she had been looking for.
J. C.
Plenty of garden plants, pots, ornaments, pricey but worth opting for Dobbies card to get 10% off most purchases.
J. I.
We love Dobbies Garden Centres. When we are on the way to Wales we always call in to the other centres near Shrewsbury . Today we called to get some food but there were some alterations in progress. The good has always been excellent and hope it will continue.
k. b.
I like Dobbies, their plants are always in good condition, have a good range and friendly staff. Shame about the restaurant, just lacks that little bit of professionalism. Food is often dry and unappealing. Also the staff should be taught not to put their thumbs in the serving dishes whilst carrying them.
c. t.
Staff went above and beyond in the Christmas 🎄 department. Thank you
T. K.
Good for looking around great choice
P.
Great store loads of shops within cafe also great selection with area for kids so mums and dads can relax with a coffee knowing kids are happy
D.
Our favourite garden centre
Lots of outlets including weird fish , sketches and pets corner. Great cafe and lovely staff
K. G.
I got overcharged today in the Resturant by a Member of Staff named Ann & couldnt even say sorry!! Also the Toilets need an upgrade.
J. D.
Popped in to check prices on potential garden purchases. Surprised to see 20% sale in progress. Even with sale items still cheaper nearby. Good selection of all garden items and cafe busy.
J. T.
Xmas display nice, expensive Christmas trees... small display. Restaurant long wait to be served, but we'll worth it. Food choice very good and good value for money. Worth a visit and bargains to be had.
S.
Typical British garden centre really - turning into a large outlet as much as a garden centre. Excellent aquatics/tropical fish shop which I use a lot and the foyer/exit area has now been changed to a small Sainsbury's with a big butchers. Have occasionally used for Lakeland, Mountain Warehouse,Pavers etc which are all as you would expect.
Now the mini-rant to the owners... the one-way system which forces you to walk in one side of the site, down to the far end and back again to buy something you can see through the "exit only" door is a real pain. I understand why you do it like this, but please reinstate an entrance near to the exit so we can shop for food without the 200+ meter route-march. It doesn't make me buy other stuff as I walk round - it makes me drive to another store in town to save time.
PS The veggie stall man outside the doors is a gem and you don't need to walk round the loop :-)
G. B.
The Dobbies brand is certainly improving since Tesco dispatched it from their control, now it has quite a bit more to offer by including other retailers within and on site. They have done better this year with Xmas decorations and with some themed layouts and a grotto it's a nice experience for kids. Food is good with two large areas with more than adequate tables and seating. It's getting there and have reserved the 5th star for when they do. Worth a visit for sure.
D. H.
Last time l visited was very disappointed 😞 the ladies 🚺 were disgusting, the smell was horrendous and 2 toilets were locked because they were broken but 3 more were unusable so only one left , not acceptable in a place as that
C. J.
Good place for everything to do with gardens + clothes, gifts, books. Nice cafe too.(A bit on the expensive side).Just coming back to life after winter. Worth a visit.
T. K.
Used to love this place. Was offered a chance to enter a prize draw. No information that this was an outside company who were after your name address etc then they offered to combine my electricity gas phone. Rookie mistake then I was told I obviously was not interested in saving money if I didn't allow them to come to my house. Not impressed
p. h.
Really busy now it has Xmas stuff about, great display but shouldn't bother with the chappy cafe,
M. B.
Typical Dobbies garden centre. Some very nice plants but they can be overpriced.
The restuarant is a disaster with long queues and overpriced food £5+ for a ham and cheese sandwiche.
The system for serving food and paying needs a radical overhaul as your food will be cold by the time you get to eat it...
All the concessions are very expensive and sell the run of the mill merchandise you will find at any garden centre.
Shame really as when it was Woodlands it was a lot better.
A. G.
People must spend a fortune here!
Useful to have a Lakeland store beside it and a Sainsbury's concession inside. Plenty of free parking too.
L. W.
Amazing cafe. Sells all the stuff you need for gardening, having a fish tank/pond
C. T.
Nice garden centre. Good variety.
J. L.
It's ok sums Dobbies Garden Centre up. Very disappointed in ranges of all goods and also how expensive things are. £3 something for 1 primrose, £7 for a jacket potato in the restaurant. Also the staff are slow at the checkouts, there were only 2 on with long queues waiting to pay, snail pace and didn't seem bothered, not a hello or a smile. Think the staff need re training and motivating. Go to Aldi or Lidl and see how friendly they are with customers and they are constantly really, really busy. Sorry Dobbies you need to up the whole store.
M. P.
Larger than the Atherstone store, still suffering with the clear out after Christmas. Many items reduced but not much choice.
D. M.
Very nice place to visit lovely dog friendly area
i. c.
If there as been a substantial amount of rain I would suggest to wear Wellington boots or substantial footwear. When I visited this place i really enjoyed walking around especially when the trees were changing colour. It did rain in previous days which made the area water logged but still enjoyed the visit especially as the sun was shining.
T. H. T.
A really nice place with lots of nice things to buy. It even has a soft play area.
J.
Excellent garden centre for all your
gardening needs.
Only one tiny complaint, I couldn't find any assistants to help me out.
That hasn't put me off and I will go again.
J. C.
Very nice place to visit the restaurant offers good food. Needs more disabled car park spaces. I go with my Mother who has wheelchair, every time I visit I never get a disabled space.
S. J.
Had a really positive experience. The 2 guys in the aquatic shop were just incredibly helpful and really went out of their way. Excellent customer service. Thank you so much.
P. L.
This is usually our first choice for garden stuff, plus the Lakeland and Mountain Warehouse stores. It's pricey for things like furniture and BBQs, but not too bad elsewhere. The range is pretty good and there are the usual concessions in the main store. The farm shop is expensive but absolutely worth it. Car park is vast so if you go on a weekend you could end up thinking you'd parked in the next county.
A. J.
Huge, biggest garden centre I have been to I think...plenty of outlets: Lakeland, Shuropody, Country Casuals, etc too. Cafeterias with good menus. Very large outdoor plant selection alongside the indoor plants and garden centre homewear, gifts, furniture, pretty much everything!
S. D.
Restaurant was a rip off. Went today 29th August for afternoon tea as my wife and daughter had been 8 weeks previously paying £18 for afternoon tea for two, nice sandwiches and full size cakes. Today it was £12.50 for one for 4 fishfinger sized sandwiches, 2 scones 1.5" × 1" high with a tiny pot of jam abd a kfc sauce sized pot of clotted cream, 4 little cakes same size as scone and a drink. This was totally different from the previous visit and basically each item worked to be £1 each for £3worth of food. Won't be going again.

Three of us went for Christmas dinner at Woodlands today. The food was excellent, and piping hot. The young lad who waited on us was very kind and helpful. God willing the Christmas of 2018 we shall be there again in this delightful Nursery.

We visited the works Here as it is quite large and usually has a good variety . The cafe is quite good but a bit expensive and the queues are very slow moving

Well what can we say about Dobbies. Nice clean area's. Reasonable prices, Haven't been to restaurant since the change over. But hope it's a great as it was as Wyvale and Great Staff and Chef still there.

Fun Christmas displays and enjoyable aquarium. Sadly food let the trip down, little too pricey for the quality served. Still great to visit but hopefully the restaurant can improve.

Big and spacious, not just selling plants, peacocks, cotton trading, the works, , lakeland, Edinburgh Mills and other small shops are there. They have s coffee shop and a lovely restaurant also a soft play for the children. Worth a visit.

Really helpful people - got everything I needed, and more. Awesome range of products, not just garden things

Basically the same as other Dobbies! Friendly staff. Food not cheap, but tasty (£7.50ish for a chicken salad). Good size The Works and Lakeland. Fresh produce on sale outside. Certainly go again!

Good selection of plants and outdoor maintenance equipment and decently priced, cafe food has not as good as before takeover and but still nice.
Looks like they are continuing to improve and layout is good.

Had some landscape bark delivered from here and have to say how helpful the delivery men were. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Many thanks guys 👍

Pricey nut good products

Just love this garden centre, the choice is wonderful. Downside is its incredibly expensive 😫. I could never afford to buy all my plants here but still love visiting ❤

Enjoyed our visit to Dobbies, although disappointed that there were no bags of 6X available. There was a very strong smell of, not too sure what, in and around the food hall. Not very pleasant at all.

This place has lots to offer under one roof Always busy at lunchtime as the food is fab

Great thats Dobbies welcomes dogs and the reason that I drive there from Ashby rather than going locally to garden centres that don't accept dogs but please get someone to top the water bowls up in the café. Also clear instructions would be welcome on how to proceed if a dog has an accident at anytime. I saw someone today deliberately walk away from such a situation today probably because of embarrassment leaving a slipping hazard to the unaware.

All round good centre for all things to do with gardens. Also good for clothes and shoes too
Much better value than Clarke's shoe shops and a better range of well made sensible styles.
Good food in the restaurant too.

A really good place to visit it's got everything even a little Sainsbury's

Great selection of plants and special offers on greenhouses and propagation equipment, makes me want to be a gardener! Even though don't know the first thing about it, have really come for soft play area for grandchild 😃

Lovely shop ,but food is always luke warm in restaurant if you have a dinner ,I don't think we will be having that again
A. W.
Great place to get lost in for an hour and just wander around, great range plus staff on hand to happily help you out, nice cafe,

As far as garden centres go, this is a great one. You can buy practically anything there. Their aquarium is impressive too. It's big ! So is the carpark.
K. E.
Good coffee, they also have a nice selection of plants though not the cheapest in the area. Food hall is interesting and good for 'posh' food. Gifts, books and clothes in the concession. Also fish/ponds/tanks.
R. T.
They advertise 50%off but that's to get you through door all major Christmas decorations were not in the sale
C. L.
Very cold inside and if the Christmas section wasn't there I think it'd have been very boring and we'd have been done in 10 minutes. Most items are extortionately overpriced and can be found elsewhere for much more reasonable prices.
R. B.
Good sized garden centre with good cafe. Coffee okay too. Discount available with loyalty card. Good range of quality plant. No cheap but quality rarely is.
A. B.
My wife and I found that many items sold here were expensive. Nice place though. Staff we encountered were polite and helpful. Shame about the prices. Just had to be discerning as to what we bought. God Bless.
S. L.
I found the bedding plants etc very over priced. Couldn't get the bag l wanted from papers but enjoyed the outing anyway.
J. S.
Always a pleasure to visit and shop there, but on this occasion I thought that stocks were low
E. W.
Lots of inspiration. Lots of units in same location
J. M.
Nicley laid out, plenty of car parking spaces, and lots of little shops inside as well
