Jane is amazing. We approached Jane with some very rough aspirations for a major redevelopment of our front and rear garden. Jane invested time with us to understand our preferences, agree a theme and an initial design. The plans incorporated planting, landscaping, custom features and lighting. Jane’s knowledge of materials and landscaping is incredible. She researched materials that complimented our brief and presented carefully selected samples. The final design was an impressive illustration of Jane’s patience, experience and commitment. Jane has excellent contacts with suppliers and landscapers which enabled us to move swiftly from design to build. Jane supported the build process end to end which enabled sensible adjustments and hassle free management of the subcontractor. Jane and Kim planted our garden this spring (2018) with care and professionalism. Jane personally selected the plants and demonstrated her gardening skill by finding the best positions. After two months growth the end result is sensational. The garden Is better than we could have imagined. Our rear garden is an enticing extension to indoor living. The front garden has been transformed from a managed mess to a warm welcome. Jane has dropped in twice since planting to answer questions and ensure everything is on track. Gardens transform your everyday experience. Thanks to Jane and her team we have a beautiful garden that is both inspirational and a constant source of delight.

Working with Jane was a real pleasure. She listened attentively to our wish list - low maintenance; annuals rather than perennials; attractive to bees and birds; mixed shrubs, flowers and blossoms to give colour and interest throughout the year etc etc. She delivered '10/10' to quote my husband. Although previously a reticent gardener her enthusiasm and encouragement has also inspired a love of getting to know the garden and tending it and we're looking forward to seeing it mature over then next few years. We are also excited about moving on to the front garden with her guidance.

Jane's enthusiasm for plants and gardens is incredibly catching. She is very knowledgeable, will share her views but is equally happy for input, and new thoughts. We decided to revamp the borders in our front and back garden after 20 years and really enjoyed Jane's approach to the project as it was structured on the one hand but she really listened to us and was able to create a vision so we could imagine how the garden will look in the future. We are really happy with the results and are watching with delight as new plants appear. In fact, I am so pleased that I am already planning a bulb planting project with her later in the year.

We chose Jane based on her empathy, professionalism, knowledge and attention to detail. She took in to account our budget and style. She gave detailed advice so our builders could do the landscaping (saving money on a landscaper) and had an excellent preparation team (Kim Pringle) to prepare the garden for planting. Jane and her team were lovely to work with and all had an amazing can do attitude. Everything was in budget and where ever Jane and Kim could save us money they did. This really helped with a large build and garden design. Jane has sent us information regarding after care, mulching and pruning. The final garden looks amazing even in winter, I can’t wait for the spring and summer to see the garden grows and develops. I would highly recommend Jane Ashley Garden design.

Jane is an incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful and super-friendly garden designer. The process of planning the garden was as delightful as the final, wonderful, results. (In contrast, planning with me was probably very trying for Jane as I kept changing my mind and she couldn't have been more patient or accommodating.) Jane came into our garden project that had come unstuck half way through and was completely brilliant. A traditional lawn garden had been completely taken out for one that was meant to be dog friendly, with york stone and borders. The builders had done a very poor job without any drainage - or plants left - and Jane, together with my fantastic gardener, Kim, turned what was becoming a disaster into a completely wonderful London garden with lush borders and exotic acers resulting in a mature garden within a year! Jane's knowledge of plants is masterfully forensic and detailed. She interacts with them as a physician would a patient - the same tender touch, acute insight and empathy for the conditions that will make them thrive. And they do. Everyone raves about my garden. And Jane is also fantastic at following up with after care that is both diligent and curious. If you use Jane, ask if she can come with Kim to help with the planting and maintenance... .
