We worked with Meristem as part of the placemaking strategy for Imperial College London's White City Campus. They provided us with beautiful parklets and green walls that have made a tremendous impact for the Campus community. We asked for green roofs on the parklets which look lovely, and also persohalised them with our College branding. Thanks very much Meristem team!

Meristem’s living wall is the best birthday present I’ve ever had. It hides a very dull brick garage wall and brings to life a bleak little courtyard between our house and garage. We have a glass wall and door which gives the perfect view making me happy when I’m sitting at the breakfast table in the morning. I can totally recommend Meristem. Communication with the company was good, even in the middle of the pandemic, and worked well simply using email and phone calls. Project management was excellent. I guess ours is a modest domestic project at 2 x 2.3m but it was all done in a couple of days. Heavy duty plastic sheets protect the wall, metal struts support the metal troughs and I can’t begin to describe the growing medium, but it clearly has magical properties. The quality of the plants, bought fresh from the nursery that day, was excellent. Nina is a very talented designer. We exchanged emails about the choice of plants and the shape and colours of the foliage are just beautiful. The ferns and grasses will happily see us through the winter and I look forward to seeing splashes of orange flowers, which will complement my pots of cannas next summer. An irrigation system makes it easy to care for the plants and Fraser has been a great friend and adviser since the installation in August.

The team at Meristem did a fantastic job with the installation of a live wall at our property. We had approached them as our live wall had poor maintenance and was not thriving in its conditions and were absolutely blown away by how they turned it around. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with them and in particular, Nina Simoes who has been our main consultant during this time. She listened to all of our ideas, concerns and questions and delivered beyond our imagination. The team is also extremely proactive and responsive about upkeep and maintenance on our garden and we are excited about continuing to work with them!!

We have worked in both the USA and the UK with Meristem this year and it has on each occasion been a very positive experience. The team are very professional and it has been a pleasure to work with them. The images attached show the living walls that were designed and constructed for us at the Architectural Digest Design Show in New York, our trade stand at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the stunning green wall, probably the longest ever to be built at Chelsea flower show, which was part of the celebration of the environmental benefit and beauty of trees, plants and grass in urban space on the Savills and David Harber Show Garden.

Meristem completed a project for my sons school in Greenwich, and we cannot recommend them enough! We are so delighted with our ivy screens surrounding the school, giving the school the privacy they needed, but also help trap nasty pollutants. Meristem won a competitive tender process to deliver the first parklets to our Local Authority and we couldn't have been happier with the design process and resulting parklets and cycle racks. Alex, lead designer, responded well to the parameters we were working with in a sensitive, historic environment; incorporating specified design criteria and materials to create pieces of street furniture which complemented the context. The parklets and cycle racks are of great quality and have been well received in the city, by the public, businesses and politicians alike.

Garratt Park School have embarked on an environmentally green collaboration project with Meristem Design. The school made some inquires with Wandsworth Council about the recalled planters that were part of the Mayors Low Traffic Neighbourhood Scheme and were put in touch with George Claydon (project and maintenance manager Meristem Design), who kindly offered to make ten planters for the school and donated some soil and plants to get us started. He also offered practical advice and guidance on where the planters would be best placed around the school, with the aim of introducing a green calmness and mindfulness to the school’s outdoor space. George was really enthusiastic about the project and offered advice on how the project could be developed in the future with a living wall and potentially more planters. At a testing and difficult time for many, the planter’s project has given the students a renewed focus and something to look forward to.
