Reviews of Barton Grange Garden Centre
J. L.
Absolutely loved my visit to Barton Grange, where there's a great selection of indoor and outdoor plants to suit all budgets. Staff I engaged with were knowledgeable and welcoming.
Relaxed in the café with a well deserved coffee and slice of cake.
Visited 21/08/22 Still one of my favourite garden centres. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, I've never had a bad experience shopping here. Once finished shopping relaxed with my usual coffee and cake.
Next visit will be in a couple of months, when no doubt their Christmas displays will be up.
J. P.
Lovely garden centre with great facilities, lovely Christmas displays and a great range of garden and interior products. Great selection of Christmas trees, lights, outdoor plants. There was a Christmas yeti display which was fun for the little ones. Quite busy as we visited today (a Saturday on the run up to Xmas) but still great. There is a restaurant and a cafe, we sat in the cafe. In the cafe they had a selection of hot food, soups, sandwiches, ice creams, hot drinks and more. Children's meals available too.
Overall a great experience at Barton Grange Garden Centre. Looking forward to coming back for another visit. Highly recommend.

A great place for an afternoon out with all the family, to see their extensive Xmas lights and various Christmas exhibitions, which both young and old seemed to enjoy. Note, they are not timed, you'll need to look for a button to start the displays. This is also one of the best places in Lancashire to pick up some good quality presents, kitchen ware, vegetables, wine and don't miss their cafe with an extensive range of desserts and cakes with seating looking over a small stream. Free parking, free entry, plenty for kids to see and very good coffee at a low price

Decided to go out for breakfast... £9.20 for a very good full English with really good scrambled eggs! Not rubbery at all. Hot drinks extra tho'.
Sat indoors with a view of the river, very picturesque.
Very helpful, friendly staff throughout the whole of Barton Grange, this is far from a cheap and cheerful garden centre with very healthy plants, trees, shrubs for indoor and garden on sale.
Pet Centre, wild bird area, furnishings and garden equipment for a size outdoor areas. Great interior decorative items and kitchen/dining wear too.
I buy from here on a regular basis and am never disappointed with the quality or selection available.
Y. T.
Very very beautiful place, both indoor and outdoor areas, although not as big as expected. Cafe had a beautiful river view. Food was good but expensive. Ice cream was average.
L. I.
Absolutely beautiful place to come for homeware, so much variety and lovely items. However I think it's so overpriced, £78 for a cushion.. For me I loved it, but nothing came home with me!
M. K.
For a Christmas treat definitely head to Barton Grange. The Willow cafe does an amazing Christmas Dinner & yummy desserts. They have a lovely light show / walk around with amazing displays. And the staff are incredibly friendly. 10/10
L. W.
Enjoyed looking around, a nice mix of Housewares, Gifts Etc
The Garden Centre area has a good selection of plants, some different plants that you don't always see elsewhere. Think the planted Pots are excellent & you can always get ideas for doing them yourself.
The River Coffee shop has a great selection for a 'Light' Lunchtime snack, Sandwiches, Soup etc & the Cakes are something else !
We didn't venture into the Farm Shop
The Staff were friendly & Helpful throughout the Store, we shall definitely be back, very enjoyable.

Breathtaking collection of both indoor and outdoor plants 🪴 Though a bit expensive , they are having a sale now ..A visual treat to the eyes and also a great place for a family day out . The cafe and restaurant is also nice , but slightly expensive . Lots of garden decor items are also available . Definitely a place to visit in summer !!!!
J. W.
Fabulous plants and such a wide variety always available. The staff are all very knowledgeable and happy to help. When you've finished choosing the right plant you'll no doubt be ready for some refreshment or maybe something more substantial. Whether it's tea and cakes or full meal you're sure to find something to tickle your taste buds. You'll be spoilt for choice whatever your looking for at Barton Grange.
M. M.
Lovely garden centre, been a few times now and keep going back. Good selection and prices are reasonable. Plants are well looked after and seem to last well, Orchid plant bought I marches still lovely now. Has a restaurant and cafe, not tried the restaurant yet but the cafe is lovely, seating outside looking at the steam is lovely. Soup is very tasty and cakes are amazing.
Mens toilets by the cafe are a bit different .
H. C.
An extensive garden centre. We visit once a year when visiting friends. They have an extensive Christmas display. Great place to visit with kids just to look at all the Christmas decorations and lights. It certainly isn't the cheapest place, but they do sell good quality items.
The cafe is lovely with a lovely outlook. Extensive range of amazing cakes. They also sell hot food too. Theres a couple of toilet areas which are clean. The mens toilets near the cafe have an extra surprise! As you exit the garden centre you leave via the farm shop. This has an extensive range of fresh fruit and vegetables with a wide range of other food items too. Again, it is slightly over priced.
G. C.
Large, well laid out retail centre for anything garden (& home) related. Themed shopping areas inside make for an ideal way to pass a wet afternoon & buy presents. Great location, plenty of free parking & great cafe too. Remember your credit card you will need it, nothing is 'cheap'
N. H.
So lovely, went in the cafe and it looks amazing and the cakes were delicious. Would be 5* if not for my coffee being luke warm. Staff were lovely and made another very quickly. My son enjoyed the waterfall with the love heart wreath.
I. D.
Our first visit to this great garden centre, especially the beautiful Christmas section. Loads of choice. Also a nice cafe, lovely food and drinks. Recommend a visit.
D. S.
Always makes me feel festive walking around so many pretty lights and displays. Quite expensive to buy Christmas things though. Although the farm shop is reasonably priced and good selection of local foods available.
D. S.
Fabulous Christmas Decorations and a beautiful light display in the outside of the garden centre. Fabulous cafe. Definitely puts you in the Festive Spirit. Will definitely make it an annual Christmas day out and also will visit again in the summer.
N. S.
Well this is the ultimate in modern garden centres with no space wasted and the usual and not so range of gardening products and gift ideas . If visiting leave the best part of a day ....its vast !, With a restaurant, food hall, furniture, and everything you could need for your garden and an extensive range of plants for indoor and out. The only downside are the prices to my mind everything is at least 10% more than average but still worth the occasional visit just to marvel at it.oh and did I mention the novelty urinals....
S. P.
Loved it, very helpful friendly staff. They have 3 electric scooters available, there are also wheelchairs available. You need to provide either proof that you have a blue badge or show them your driving license. We showed them photos of both sides of the blue badge, the photos were taken by my friend using her mobile.
R. V.
I wentt this afternoon to meet a friend to have a look around and meet for a coffee . Both our children are wheelchair users and the accessibility ♿ is first class too. The cafe us clean, spacious and have food and cakes 🎂 galore 😋.
D. a. J. P.
A well polished large garden centre. Parking in abundance with accessible spaces close to the entrance. Customer services loan wheel chairs for people with mobility impairment. Toilets are clean. Huge self service cafe selling a range of hot and cold food. Prices are quite high for food 2 sandwiches, crisps and 2 teas £21.50. Separate restaurant (I didn't eat there so can't comment). Amazing displays at Christmas time usually all decorations are colour coordinated in separate areas. Lots of fancy goods, out door lighting, plants, cards, toys, jewellery, candles, pots and pans to name a few of the range of items on sale. Prices can be steep on some things. There is also a lovely farm, local produce food shop which is worth a visit.
You could spend a full day here.
P. D.
First visit Sunday 25/4. Loved it plenty of choice. 2 z Tree Ferbs £17.99 each, good price.
C. C.
Came on a coach trip and really enjoyed my time here. The Christmas section was wonderful the way it was set out. Outside amongst the plants were various animals, I especially liked the monkeys. There was something for everyone.
F. P.
Lovely place to go xmas shopping. The food is amazing highly recommend it. Very friendly staff. 10 out of 10 for the food.
H. D.
Visited for the first time today! It was brilliant! The displays were fantastic, it wasn't your usual pack everything in and forget about it garden centre. Fabulous range of Christmas items, indoor plants and outdoor. The kitchen collection was brilliant too.
C. W.
Even if you don't buy anything it's still a nice place to visit. We're moving house soon and got some great ideas for our new garden, so we will be back!
A. C.
A great array of plants, shrubs and trees. All plants are of good quality, and have been well stocked. Staff were actively tending to plants and shrubs during my visit. Staff were also happy to give advice where required, and demonstrated a vast knowledge!! Cafe and restaurant very clean, with good signage for the popular allergens to guide the diner through. Staff are also happy to advise on allergens upon request. Good clear signposting. COVID safe environment. Throughly enjoyed our visit, and several plants bought!
A. B.
So enjoyable to walk around this shop, each room is different, the garden centre with the statues and fountains are my favourite! Don't feel obliged to buy anything, the experience in itself is wonderful, especially at Christmas time
A. C.
This is by far the greatest garden centre I have ever been too. This place is amazing. The cook shop, the farm shop, the plants were of the finest I have seen.well done to the team at Barton Grange!
Autumn 2022 - Well they have outdone themselves, this year's Christmas display is exceptional, here are a few pictures, but you definitely need to visit if you want to see the best of it..
R. J.
Went to see the Christmas displays and was not disappointed. Very bright and cheerful. Love the patterns and deaigns of this year themes. There is a nod to old fashion baubles which remind me of my childhood. A quick visit in the cafe for a coffee Renoir and latte and back round for a look at the food section. Will be visiting again in a couple of weeks.
D. G.
Large garden centre with excellent farm shop and wide range of gifts, and cookware. When I visited there was a huge selection of Christmas decorations and ornaments on display. Stunning! The restaurant is excellent - good food and plenty of helpful staff and people cleaning tables. A great place to visit - even if just to browse.
V. H.
Lovely day out at cinema and mini golf. Did not eat here, but great to see vegan options on the menu and in the cafe too
M. H.
I'm sure most people might enjoy a visit to this enormous garden centre and restaurant complex but it's just not my cup of tea. Too big and too busy for my taste. However there is a wide choice of garden and gift items, the food looks good and there is disabled access and toilet facilities.
L. W.
Really lovely centre some different and unique gifts. It's not the cheapest place but a really lovely place to visit and be inspired by the lively ideas, there's always enough deals going on for everyone to buy something and the cafe us where you have that extra special treat 😋😁
S. L.
High quality garden centre- in fact it’d qualify as the rolls Royce of garden centres. Unbelievable range of plants and trees plus they have a lovely large home section too and a restaurant. Well worth the visit
J. B.
Always a pleasure to visit BG, especially near Christmas as they really pull out all the stops.
Wide range of home & garden goods with a range of prices to suit pretty much every pocket.
Farm shop and cafe both excellent though you do need to dig quite deep once your basket starts filling up. It's quality produce though and well worth it. Their chicken breasts are the best we've found anywhere.
j. b.
Absolutely love the food at Barton Grange normally. Came today, had a turkey dinner in the Riverside Cafe, while it was good, it wasn't to the tasty high standard. I thought the turkey was dry and a bit tasteless and the carrots which are usually like no others I've tasted anywhere! were very average. Everything else, delicious. The cafe was exceptionally busy..12.30..but the staff were wonderful and quickly got through the queue.
G. T.
Great garden centre, fabulous range of plants even ones I’ve never heard off. The cafe has great selection of delicious food, and the farmers shop has lots of goodies, I especially like the sausage rolls..I buy in bulk when I go there 😊
You have to visit in the run up to Christmas as their displays are spectacular 🥰
v. w.
Lots to look at and buy. Quite expensive but quality good. Christmas stock nearly all out and display looks beautiful. Good stock of Autumn plants. Farm shop area good quality meat and cheese etc. Coffee let's them down, only serve VM drinks
a. c.
Love barton Grange! Not just a garden centre! Lot's of departments all set out beautifully! A Christmas visit is an absolute must! But I visited recently and sat outside and it was lovely! There are of course a great range of plants and garden goodies! But so much more!
M. E.
Visited just before Halloween and had lunch in the restaurant. Always enjoy visiting, especially when they have their amazing Xmas displays up
K. P.
I was a little disappointed that the usual anamatronics weren't there but still enjoyed the experience. What a lot of wonderful things to purchase. The Christmas displays and lights are amazing. I thought the nativity scene in the entrance was beautiful. I did enjoy looking at the small electronic displays as well. Well done.
W. L.
They were just in the middle of redressing the shop for Christmas it'll be better when it's done. Went to the cafe had the soup it was quite nice, coffee from a machine I've had better. Vanilla slice very nice.
A. “. F.
Absolutely amazing, all kinds of different things to look at even if you don't buy anything. There is cafe, a little supermarket perfect for everyone. Friendly staff always on hand to help. Would highly recommend
t. m.
This place is absolutely beautiful when it's dark and Christmas time
S. C.
This is a lovely garden centre there was someone to meet you at the entrance immediately the decor catches your eye you then walk in to segmented rooms with different Christmas themes and colour we stayed for lunch at the willows restaurant having a lamb roast dinner which was very nice we finally moved on to the plants area which is under a very high level roof making viewing this area pleasurable no matter what the weather is. Well worth a visit for all the family
L. R.
Wow! It's all about Christmas here, at this time of year, and it's magical! There's also a fantastic farm type shop selling a variety of foods. We bought the family size chicken, leek and gammon pie and it was amazing!
S. F.
Lovely plants and gifts the Christmas displays are stunning
J. S.
Good place to visit for Christmas but was disappointed to see main Christmas displays had been moved. Bought some nice things but queue to buy some chocolate excessive as one lady serving ice creams as well. Two working there and one less on main tills would have been advisable
R. W.
Barton Grange is the perfect place to get the Christmas spirit. The decorations really make you feel special and I think the garden centre have really put a lot of effort in to get this feeling. An easy 5 stars!
C. L.
Nice half day out lovely garden centre.
Food in cafe a bit expensive. £11.40 for a ham salad bowl is ridiculous even tho it was good. I had it because I was on diet and hadn't eaten. The bread roll my husband had was rock hard and undercooked. So disappointed with cafe.
T. W.
Love Barton Grange! Excellent garden centre. Fantastic range of plants, trees pots and garden ornaments. Lovely range of gifts, items for the home and kitchen. The cafe and restaurant are fantastic. The food is excellent and in a Love setting with a beautiful view. Lets not forget the fantastic farm shop that is well worth a visit on it's own!
C. C.
A very large garden centre, which has displays of plants and flowers. They sell potted plants and seeds, gardening tools and gloves. They also have non gardening items for sale such as a huge range of clocks. A large restaurant is available for visitors with a good range of hot and cold food.
M. H.
This wasn't my first time visiting this Garden Center. If you are making a special trip make sure you go at Christmas. The decoration section is very large. Lots to choose from but it is on the expensive side.
If you have time then go across to the flower bowl entertainment center and play curling or crazy golf I recommend it.
j. B.
Visted here last week on a coach trip.
Bought slippers.when i arrived home in NI.i realised there was only 1 slipper in the box. Rang the store.customer service was amazing. Posted the missing slipper out the next day. Excellent service. Thank you
b. r.
This place is top price for everything but good quality products. Give money back if plants don't survive for 5 years. Good cafe. Granddaughter enjoyed it.
D. M.
Christmas displays look great. Cafe great as usual loved the vegetable soup. One of our go to places when up this neck of the woods.
S. L.
Great for a walk around on a Sunday. Treat yourself to a posh breakfast or there is a self serve option. Especially good in the run up to Christmas with their displays.
C. _.
Very nice garden centre, they have huge variety of plants and flowers, bushes and trees. Garden decoration and beautiful pots, soil and pets accessories and food. Large site selling plants, equipment and garden furniture with riverside restaurant and farm shop. We love farm shop, great products and ok price. There have also few toys for kids, hard to resist and sweets of course. Staff were wearing masks and everywhere looks clean, sanitisers are available at the entrance of the shop. Overall great spended time. Definitely recommend. 🙂👍
L. T.
Very nice place for a trip out had a really nice meal in the cafe. Good place to take your children to see all the different Christmas decorations. 🎄
L. T.
A vast selection of everything for gardening on offer. We went specifically to have a look at the Christmas range, of which again the offering is vast! If you've not been I suggest taking a look
D. N.
Went on a Sunday and it was very busy but still enjoyed the visit. The creamy potato, onion and thyme soup served in the restaurant was sublime, would recommend a visit just for that!!
D. G.
Went to look at the Xmas decorations and lunch. Was not disappointed. Both shop and restaurant/cafe were very busy and the food was excellent.
E. W.
Always top notch, food, service, goods..wonderful place.
D. A.
Just like to say how today for the first time eating out in a long time I felt normal . Thankyou Barton Grange for doing a gluten free menu , it was so nice to have no problems ordering food and to actually have a menu to look at .
P. M.
Very busy when we arrived but plenty of places available to sit and have a drink.
The chicken gammon and leek pies from the farm shop were the best pies I have had for a long time.
T. D.
The place is wonderful. It displays products by theme and colors which makes it easy to shop and inspiring as well.
They have indoor and outdoor sections for different kind of trees and decorations.
I came on Monday lunch and not that crowded but my family came at weekend and they said they are packed!! Very worth to go for Christmas shopping though!!!
Z. T.
Living on the edge of Greater Manchester we have two great garden centre options. It's here or Bents at Glazebury. They both have different strengths and selling points. Seems slightly less expensive here and better 'pure gardening' range of products and plants. BG is also more spacious and well set out. A beautiful grand entrance of houseplants is a fantastic welcome. The selection if houseplants and prices were better here than at Bents. Well worth the effort to get here.
m. c.
I don't blame this place for being expensive (£8.20 for a sandwich!!) And full of tat, I think that's just this type of garden center. I blame my wife for making me go!! The farm shop is well priced though.
G. W.
This has to be the poshest garden centre in the area, alongside Bents (nearby) We popped in for a look around and breakfast. The breakfast was well portioned for £6 and grabbed a hot drink of coffee. Everything on the plate was good except the sausage (Cumberland ring) which was hard! Vegetarian option also available and about £1 cheaper. The coffee was bitter, not sure what is going on there but I would have milk with it if I were you. After the breakfast I grabbed a chocolate milk shake which could have been colder but it was tasty, the glass and mixing jug were a nice touch (see photo). After food were wandered the outdoor plant area which was as expected and well priced. The shop was lovely, including candles, cushions and cutlery you can rest assured if you are looking for a gift or inspiration then you can find it in there. They have plenty of pretty vases and clocks, pictures and indoor plants. The food hall is nice to pop into; anything you want, really. We got some fresh asparagus, pasta and bread. There is a little sweet shop just after the food hall so make sure you have a look. I noticed that there is a restaurant and bowling alley across the large carpark but did not enter, it looks nice though. I look forward to return here because it’s so nice and it is full of nice things, it is popular with a mature crowd and bus trips so beware of queues in the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed though.
P. N.
What can I say about this very impressive garden centre situated just off the A6 at Barton, between Preston and Garstang. Every year they put on a Winter Wonderland display in their centre to celebrate everything to do with Christmas, the attention to detail is truly amazing. From trees to baubles, tinsel to cookware. There's even a Café and a restaurant which sits side by side at the end of the magical tour through the centre. A spectacular farm shop is next door, selling local produce and drinks. Outside there's your usual garden centre with plants, shrubs and ornaments with plenty of car parking spaces. A great day out for all the family.
L. B.
Lovely experience if you haven't been but take plenty of money or your cards as it's VERY Expensive very nice displays and lights again expensive 😳 you can get the same much cheaper!! Same with the food not much to chose from in the sandwiche's not organized people pushing in front of you!😡 Won't go again!!
J. K.
Barton Grange was pleasant, if some what busy, a section was closed due to them getting it ready for Christmas. Though I expect it will be a fine display with a quite extensive range, however, expect to spend money, as nothing there is inexpensive.
L. L.
What A Wonderful Christmas Winter Wonderland. This was an Add On by our Coach Driver en route to Morecambe. Usual Prices for this Venue. However People commented on Prices on Purchases from Eatery..
P. K.
I love this place. We can spending time with family. nice coffee and desserts. Nice stuff for hause, canvas plants etc.

L. O.
Lovely Xmas decorations and presentation. The garden centre was busy. Uncontrolled children running amok.well organised centre.
R. L.
Superb setting great choice of plants and the xmas displays are always amazing the cafe is popular and very relaxing recommended destination
T. T.
Fantastic garden centre. And their Christmas display is mind bogglingly good. No wonder it takes 9 months to plan and build
R. P.
Amazing place great recommendation looking forward to the xmas displays. Has a great variety of plants, outdoor displays, ornaments, pet supplies, amazing market place of all sorts of food and drink. Had afternoon tea in the restaurant great value for money.. this place also offers bowling, golf, paintball, cinema, crazy golf and arcade for children.
C. B.
I went with my family to see the Christmas displays. There is so much work put into the displays and all the Christmas decorations really makes you feel like Christmas has begun. We will definitely make this a tradition for our Christmas routine.
B. O.
OK but a bit over priced. We liked the Christmas decorations and the grandchildren loved them too very good displays. We'll done guys
L. B.
Been today to see Christmas display, most of it up and ready. Well worth a look at.
N. B.
Beautiful garden centre, plenty to see, 2 large cafés, went with my mum and sister had a lovely afternoon.
D. N.
Lovely at Christmas time, cafe could do with more selection for coffee rather than the basic machine.
T. M.
A very high standard of presentation of products, staff are friendly and pleasant and the food is delicious. It is on the costlier side, but a lovely treat to experience.
C. N.
Great Christmas displays as ever, a lovely place for a day out with friends and family. We go every year
J. C.
So much to choose from, allow plenty of time to walk around and sample the delights of the cafe. The themes and imagination used to create the displays are wonderful.
K. A.
The Christmas displays and goods were spectacular, the willows restaurant serves first rate food. A wonderful farm shop with a great selection of local produce, the atmosphere was a delight
J. R.
A good selection of plants, pots, and associated items. As is the norm now there was a big selection of kitchen, household, books, pet, etc items as well. The restaurant was okay but there were no dark brown wholemeal filled rolls and our lettuce garnish had definitely seen better days.
The farm shop was an unexpected pleasure with tasty selections of vegetables, salad, meat, cakes etc
W. P.
Yes its a little early, but Barton Grange for Christmas Decorations is awesome..... and as for those displays... 😍😍😍.
Keep up the good work guys
S. L.
A great morning out looking at the Christmas displays. So much thought goes into the displays. Loads to look at and a huge range!
W. (.
This is my favourite place to go in winter to get me in the Christmassy mood. I have never been at any other time of the year because it's a bit of a drive for me but at Christmas it's magical. There is plenty of parking, no over eager sales staff and the displays are awards winning. There's a great cafe and restaurant on site and a lovely farmers shop too.
S. D.
Visited Barton Grange to buy a Christmas tree and decorations..
You won't be disappointed..
We had a Christmas lunch too..
Would highly recommend..
Top notch 👍🏻
K. B.
Nice food on the restaurant but in the store you charge 10 quid for a bit of Xmas cake needless to say we put it back for that price you could make it yourself scandalous prices in store
A. B.
Quick stop off on the way home from Lancaster. What a lovely surprise, especially at Christmas time they had an amazing display of decorations. A definite visit for anyone who loves Christmas. The garden centre was very nicely laid out with lots of displays of quality plants but the stock was quite pricey.
W. S.
A good garden centre with plenty of stocks and supplies in terms of gardening tools and equipment. A wide variety of good quality plants are also available with friendly staff available to help inform and educate you.
It is well organised and various sections are apportioned and demarcated suitably depending on what they are or contain.
Overall, you will enjoy your time here but may be a little surprised at some of the pricing of the garden supplies, they can be a little expensive for the quality on show.
J. A.
Classy garden centre that is just the right size.
Looks so pristine that soil seems out of place. Staff knowledgable, approachable and helpful. Inspirational.
A. K.
Great collection.. It was fun walking around. COVID safety measures in place... Would love to visit again.
Some items looked pricey otherwise it will be 5 stars.
P. D.
Amazing space with wonderous Christmas display. Lovely atmosphere with cafe and restaurant.
E. W.
Called in briefly but was impressed by the size and selection. Plants seem well looked after and healthy. Lots of helpful friendly staff. Didn't get to see all of it but intend to call again and even sample the cafe/restaurant. Couldn't leave without buying a shrub for our garden.
C. S.
Now this is a fantastic garden center, huge range of plants, great cafe, Christmas decorations are amazing. Staff are brilliant, A must visit place
R. J.
First visit since Covid really lovely place, great food and quality in restaurant, great place to visit for all the family
G. H.
What an absolutely amazing place , so very festive highly recommend a visit if you've never been at this time of year.
M. H.
Very livkey place to go, especially at Christmas. Loads of Dec's and plenty of food. The only thing is how busy it is and the prices are a bit steep but worth the journey 👍
A. L.
This isn't a place for me, good selections, nice products, but dam expensive & so busy, why £24 for 2 sausage rolls, 2 bowls of Luke warm soup & 2 tasteless coffee's.. 🤬😱
S. R.
I've loved coming to Barton Grange for over around 40years. It's changed a lot including moving to this site. The ideas you can get from here, such unusual house plants when you enter and outdoor section, amazing variety. Plants seem to have a 5 year guarantee throughout too. The outdoor furniture section and everything you could need to help you in your garden. Some great deals to be had but as with most things after covid everything has increased in price and although watching our pennies is more watching pounds now we did buy a plant and bird seed. We went for coffees and cake, choice of 2 gluten free cakes or a few packet cakes was disappointing especially when it cost over £12 for 2 coffees and 2 cakes. We'd originally thought of staying to eat lunch but no glutenfree hot food and a note saying to request gf sandwiches which could be any size I've discovered usually very small comparatively. We sat outside lovely and fresh and no smoking! Toilets by the entrance very clean. We parked easily in a disabled spot on the second turning.

This is probably the best Garden Centre that we have ever visited, not only for the quality and variety of the products on display but also the supporting departments i.e. cafe, restaurant and ease of parking. A special mention must be made to the extremely helpful staff to whom deserve a 5 star rating.
Barton Grange is definitely a place to visit, you will not be disappointed.
A. G.
Fantastic garden centre with plenty of choice for the none green fingered among us as well! There's a cafe and an onsite restaurant though these can get busy especially on weekends and around Christmas. The Christmas displays and selection is second to none. The only downside is at Christmas time it can be very busy! Well worth a visit, especially in December.
R. G.
Absolutely love it here, an amazing garden center and now with the added activity center built next to it, brilliant Christmas decoration displays. Cinema, curling on ice, golf simulator, crazy golf, bar/cafe plus much more.... Brilliant fun place to be.
S. M.
Lovely Christams displays and thoughtful gifts. Barton Grange has everything for a lovy day out.
g. h.
Amazing Christmas Shop
So large that you could easily get lost!
Such a great range of products
D. T. -. A.
Came here on my first date in a few years! This place is great, fantastic variety of plants, flowers, ornaments and a great cafe too.
Will happily come here again with or without a date.
M. W.
Had a wonderful time coffee and cake Absolutely beautiful store. A feast to the eyes . Bought hanging basket for my garden. A really good price and its looking really good . Probably the best looking basket i have ever had. i normally pay twice the price Lovely colours . Thankyou gardeners at Barton Grange
A. K.
Fantastic place to visit. I can guarantee you will not be able to leave without at least one plant 😅
M. D.
Really enjoyed perusing this garden centre, could have stayed for hours. Have us lots ideas, staff was very helpful, professional and polite.
Will definitely visit again, when in the area.
M. B.
Love this place.
But my recommendation go in the week when quite as weekends are really busy.
And all the nasty people are out
S. G.
Very nice place, especially around Christmas.
The food is nice, the atmosphere and environment is lovley though. I've only ever bought food here, it is a nice couple of hours worth of evening entertainment if you ask me.
W. W.
What a wonderful garden centre. Lots of variety of anything to do with gardening inside and outside your home. Also a wide variety of other goods too. The centre is extremely well kept and a visit to the cafe is a must! Definitely worth a visit
J. S.
Lovely place to visit. Great selection of homeware, gifts and plants. The cafe has a good selection of hot and cold food at reasonable prices - the best vanilla slices ever!
G. C.
Probably one of the best garden centres I've ever been too! The range of indoor and outdoor plants is amazing. The food is excellent, but most of all the staff are incredible. Very knowledgeable and always helpful.
C. B.
Oh my days this garden centre is a joy to visit. I could of spent the day here it was wonderful. The shops have some truly inspiring gifts. The plants were lovely. I wish i had had a bigger car. The restaurant is a little pricy but very nice. The service is very very good. You must always visit the farm shop, oh the meat is gorgeous.
L. H.
Very busy, lovely place, great shopping experience. 1st class lunch.
R. W.
Very modern garden centre which has won many awards. If you need stuff for home and garden you will find it here. Very expensive, but often you get what you pay for with quality. Will visit again soon.
J. E.
Fabulous place !! Very good quality plants, extensive selection of greetings cards, some with 'laugh out loud' humour!! Cafe serves delicious cakes, especially the Blueberry Scones !!
S. C.
At Christmas Barton Grange is a fantastic and fascinating place. Late nights in the cafe (from 4pm) they offer a fantastic hot pot and pulled turkey bap!
The light and sound displays are really quite spectacular.
A. B.
Loads to do here on a rainy bank holiday with the family. We watched Jurassic Park in the cinema on comfy sofas and then spent a couple of hours in the garden center which stocks some really cool items
G. H.
Always visit Barton Grange excellent quality plants, cafe and restaurant are lovely. Fancy something different pop over too the Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre.
M. K.
Must see Christmas display get better every year
S. B.
Nice place to visit. Shop for plants and garden items, household goods, jewellery, clothes or just meet up for coffee or meal. I could easily spend half a day here
L. N.
Brilliant place to visit with lots of lovely things to browse round. Big shout to the person who took my call when I thought that I had lost my watch there, very, very helpful.
W. J.
Lovely food staff very friendly and attentive Lovely to walk round and and talke in all the beautiful flowers and garden furniture. been many times before always a pleasant morning or afternoon at Burton Grange.
K. F.
Brilliant festive displays Well worth the trip. Children and older children will be Amazed at the displays . Cafe for a Quick drink then off round the garden centre for the adults with more displays to keep the children entertained . Highly recommended.
L. A.
Barton Grange Flower Bowl is a beautiful place to visit it has a Cinema, Bowls, Curling, other Games, Cafe, Bar and is good for disabled with disabled parking and toilet, well worth a visit.
s. e.
Lovely cafe and shop. Plenty to look at, garden items, pet items, house items etc. Very well set out, I spend a good few hours looking around.
T. H.
Lovely "garden" centre all sorts to look at and buy. Excellent quality plants. Food was excellent. Pricy but worth it.
S. J.
Great range of plants shrubs trees etc. but also garden furniture etc. lovely café restaurant reasonably priced overlooking a stream. Every plant we have bought here has thrived!
S. R.
Fantastic place is very big and great central cafe with great food, fantastic freindly staff
H. C.
Love this place. We came to have a look at the Christmas lights show, but was a little disappointed that there wasn't was much as previous years. Has a nice little cafe with lovely food
J. L.
Beautiful garden centre my favourite part is the layout of the cafe and its beautiful view. I would recommend this place for a nice day out.
C. H.
Great place set out well staff nice unfortunately the prices are fully over the top..never got a thing..would not go back...just oldies on coaches buy..no need too be so expensive..friends took us the..cheers from us..we live in Australia..prices make our eyes water...thanks
S. S.
We had a stop at Barton Grange as part of a coach trip in order to do the canal cruise. This was half an hour going north, turn around and half an hour back.
Covid restrictions curtail the full experience but the experience was enjoyable. Do not consider if you cannot manage 4 steep steps into the cabin.
We saw a heron twice and a few minutes of Kingfisher activity flashing green and turquoise as we turned around.
A good taster for the longer southbound trips advertised on the brochures.
J. O.
Plenty of parking though very busy. Well stocked &worth a visit
D. W.
Not like I tour them, but this is the best garden centre I have been to. The entertainment part is really good. I spent an afternoon on the crazy golf and it was a great laugh. Would highly recommend both the garden centre and the entertainment part.
You can pretty much have a day out here
V. S.
Probably not the cheapest in the area, but a great choice of garden equipment, and locally grown plants. Good cafe and plenty of parking.
A. F.
I love Barton Grange at Christmas. Though don't tend to go during the rest of the year. They have beautiful interactive displays. The whole place is so festive with masses of decorations here. It isn't cheap, in fact I bought a slice of carrot cake and chocolate cake in the cafe and it cost £3.90 and £4 respectively. It always tends to be busy at this time of year. Though there is a fairly decent sized car park which is free.
C. C.
What a lovely experience we so enjoyed all that was on offer from indoor plants to fresh food the staff we interacted with were dedicated and informative
JOHN the butcher from Honeywells was particularly helpful
Honeywells
J. L.
Magnificent restaurant experience PLUS a magnificent Garden Centre. Well worth a visit! Yes, we're back again...and here are the stunning gent's toilets!!! Amazing!!! Well worth a visit!!
K. C.
Great experience and great Xmas display. Lots of different things for the garden and house. Great cafe aswell.
L. W.
One of the best farm shops in the area - be prepared to spend more than you thought as the range is amazing and the produce is exceptional quality
R. M.
This place is magical at this time of year. Just went to have a look over an hour later I had bought pastries etc. My kids loved all the moving ornaments and how many baubles you could fit in one shop lol.
A. D.
It's interesting and there's a lot of things to look at but the food is astronomical. Over 6 pounds for a bread roll with chicken on it.
J. H.
Great garden centre; high quality plants. However it is a bit pricey.
Good entertainment centre there as well.
S. C.
Never disappointed when visiting the garden centre. Such a choice of plants and all looked so healthy and well cared for.
H. H.
It's okay, but shopping for various things are highly inflated. Had a reasonable Sunday roast dinner, but could have been warmer.
J. C.
Nice location, though felt a bit of a trek to get to cafe, which is what we were there for. It was very busy when we arrived, but service was efficient.
Whilst good, the food and drinks were very pricey for what it was and when a friend asked to buy just some roast vegetables for their child they were told they had to buy a full meal.
I would however visit again.
A. H.
We go for the experience rather than great value, always nice to walk the Christmas displays.
M. H.
Lovely venue. Has all sorts of interesting features.
A. M. (.
So nice place to visit and shopping. Near fish and chips restaurant, bowling and golf club (have no visit) IF YOU LOOKING FOR GARDEN CENTER AND MORE, PUT THIS PLACE on list MUST VISIT.
S. T.
Lovely garden centre. A little expensive buy good for a treat. Lovely food in the cafe.
I. P.
This is a fantastic garden centre. I have watched this place grow from a small unit next to the hotel to the superstore that it is today. In my opinion I believe that they have the best Christmas decorations and displays in the North West, even better than Bents.
The outside plants and ornaments are equally as good and the fresh food shop on exit is amazing. I have never used the restaurant as I can never get in, as always busy, which is a good sign.
All staff are very friendly and helpful and the whole place including toilets are spotless.
Highly recommended.
M. C.
Would recommend to all friends an family an others food brilliant an coffee in the restaurant brilliant the Christmas displays are out of this world .
j. r.
Went in yesterday to the main restaurant/cafe with a neighbour.l ordered a tart and l attempted eat with a spoon then fork .Then after no success tried using a knife ,that was funny the pastry was rock hard .l paid £4 10 for it WHAT a waste of money
S. M.
Fantastic garden centre, cafe and farm shop. Always has a great Christmas display.
D. K.
Never been to such a big one it was lovely so much variety
C. R.
Lovely place but a bit expensive. Plants are fantastic and in prime condition - bought a house plant and it looks great.
A. B.
A wonderful trip to Barton Grange garden centre to get a couple of bay trees for my father-in-law's 80th Birthday. We found a good selection of high quality bay trees and ended up with two of them. When we found pots there as well, the day was only getting better. We asked one of the guys there how they should be potted up and after a cheeky, "Could you do it for us?", we had two perfect bay trees ready for the present.
Thank you Barton Grange and thank you to the people in the garden section for such excellent advice and service 👍
R. A.
Love this place. Needed new kitchen stuff in terms of pans etc. Knew it wouldn’t be cheap but best place to find what I required localish to me. Also wandering around the rest of the place after the kitchen shop was sadly prompted to spend more money. Small fresh produce and butchers at the end quietly removed the last of my money. Great place. 👍
V. B.
Fantastic place so much to see just wished I could afford the prices. Would go again if I needed to buy a gift. The staff were very pleasant and everywhere was clean and bright
C. L.
A fab visit for the lovely displays very very busy to be expected this time of year.
A. B.
Had a lovely lunch for free as they accepted garden vochers that we got at Christmas time
E. B.
Love this place. Garden center from heaven. It's quite expensive for some bits but generally the quality is well worth the price asked.
R. B.
Excellent garden centre with friendly and helpful staff.
Superb selection of plants available and always something unique on offer.
Excellent range of homeware items too, and the food market is always worth a visit.
k. p.
Really lovely christmas display, great quality food in the farm shop. Easy to get to.
J. P.
Beautiful xmas displays. The Yeti singers are a treat to watch & listen to.
J. H.
Beautiful store with character and style. The Christmas section was truly amazing although items where quite expensive.
V. C.
Very busy today, big queues for sometimg to eat. Would have prefered a bit quieter otherwise a enjoyable visit
G. N.
Went here after ending our journey on the narrow boat. Had a huge section for christmas. Make sure to check out the massive pumpkin outside. Had a tea or coffee.
K. S.
Had a lovely lunch in the Cafe today and loved the Christmas decorations
J. H.
Purchased a solar water feature but didn't work properly from day one. Spoke to Macauley who realised which part was faulty. Quickly ordered a replacement part, which arrived and phoned to make sure all now working. Excellent customer service from Macauley
j. s.
Great place, lots of choice. Helpful info boards by all the plants. Reckon it gets very busy so would recommend going early at weekends
M. v. E.
Absolutely loved this place. Had lunch as well. Great place to visit, though not cheap. Great lunch also.
V. J.
Great Xmas gifts best of all Had a lovely meal good value
s. f.
Large carpark. Lots of space to wander round. Not on top of each other. Sanitizer on door. Card payments only at the moment. Toilets open. Large range of house plants, cookware, plants and containers for garden. Huge seed collection. I bought plant supports on thus visit which were a fair price and good quality. In the food farm shop there is a good selection of quality fresh meat, fruit and veg and delicious cakes. The sausage rolls come highly recommended.
m. h.
lovely place to go and see very nice plants and got a really nice Caffè too
s. H.
Has everything and more you could ever think of perfect place to find a gift for someone, the food is great in the restaurant amazing quality of plants and a large variety too
S. B.
Excellent array of goods and not overly priced. Be prepared to spend the day there, as there is so much to see and enjoy.
M. C.
Has the biggest Christmas store that I have ever seen. Massive garden and cookery shop. Bowling, curling and much more
C. D.
Great center for all your plants & a lot more. Prices are cheaper than a garden centre close to me.
J. R.
Not just a garden centre. Kitchen ware, outdoor furniture, BBQs , plants and garden equipment. Also on site Cinema, curling, bowling and mini golf. Worth a visit
c. b.
You have so much choice.
Plants,flowers.
Stuff for the house, kitchen,garden
And a good farm shop also.
And the have a Xmas section.(at Xmas).
l. m.
Wonderful place, so much to see. Much much more than a garden centre...
K. C.
Unbelievable place could spend all day looking around, well worth a visit
P. H.
At Christmas they have these wonderful displays, static and animated. A wonderful time and place for children. Nice food and staff, fully recommend.
r. b.
Excellent indoor/outdoor spaces.Lots of choice.Friendly,helpful staff.Large restaurant and cafe,reasonably priced.Will visit again.
E. S.
Always wonderful, especially the Christmas displays. The flower bowl is also a place to visit, the secret garden crazy golf is so much fun 😄
I. P. H.
2nd visit very large and stylish Garden Centre, delicatessen, and eatery. Coffee, Tea, and some cakes, chat mid-way meeting point with friends and family.
S. M.
Excellent for plants, food etc, now has Xmas displays
P. S.
Lovely place, moderately expensive garden centre, cinema, bowling alley, golf simulator, and marina. Defiantly worth a look
C. A.
Brilliant garden center with great gardening stuff and plant selection.
Bowling, Curling, Crazy Golf and a 3 screen cinema also on site. Check out the gents toilet near the restaurant!!!
M. c.
Food good, good place for you to buy your garden plants, the plants are are look after very well by the people in charge of the garden center,Staff always friendly and polite 😉 😊
M.
Loved the shopping experience but found it quite expensive, I would go back again , looking forward to Christmas shopping there, 👍
I. W.
Unique toilets and a garden centre which is like a shopping center with lots of different sections and rooms.
M. G.
Went for breakfast Sunday morning and I am glad I did, the staff were the best part, so friendly and helpful, food was great and the restaurant was very nice, will go again after I have saved up !
s.
This is more than a garden centre. It's an attraction with cafe various craft and gift zone and an amazing farm shop style food court. Well worth a visit and loads of parking. Bring your wallet as lots to spend your money on and its all good quality so not a bargain hunter paradise.
P. W.
Great choices of everything you could want to buy in a garden centre. Absolutely lovely
A. B.
Super garden centre, nice cafe and restaurant but food is on the expensive side. I had roasted beetroot and butternut squash salad, just short of £13. Both beetroot and squash were diced far too small for my liking. I think the beetroot is such a beautiful veg when sliced to show the markings off, the squash could have been served in squarer "chunks" and the beetroot perhaps fanned out across the top of the dish, the addition of seeds would have been appreciated too. Obviously this is my opinion, I like to speak as I find to give others reading this a true review.
C. A.
This place is amazing good car parking with disabled bays! Great selection of items ranging from garden plants to extravagant Christmas trees and decorations! Found the food hall a bit expensive ordered steak pie with mushy peas and gravy, cost £12.95 yes £12.95!!
Make sure you look at prices first!
Nice place for children especially now on the lead up to Christmas with all the lights and decorations!
Really good couple of hours for us! Deducted 1 star for the price of the pies, but other that that nice place to visit!
P. O.
Only went to visit the farm shop. Has some lovely stuff but just way beyond my price range.
P. r.
Been here many times. Well worth going. Went in Lock down November 2020. Christmas stock up. Chrimbo songs playing to get you in the mood. ( Bit early) for me. Plenty to see would suit all age groups. Sweets that take you back a few years lol. Great gifts gardening project & ideas. Well worth recommending. The farm shop is a MUST some thing to take home for tea and enjoy very tempting. Another visit September 2022. Just getting ready believe it or not for Christmas
D. H.
Would loved to have spent more time here so much to see
C. L.
Very big and busy. Went to see the Christmas shop. Fantastic. They really go to town with the decorations. Cafe is good with plenty of choice. Quite a bit on the pricy side. Very easy to find with plenty of parking but does get very busy.
It's still very good. But the price of cake in the cafe. Wow
K. W.
Exceptional customer service from the team in the garden pots and plants section. We were looking for a particular type of garden tub which Barton Grange had, we were not able to take away straight away so asked if they could be put away till the next weekend. We arrived at the garden centre today to find the staff had put them away for us, and even transferred them onto the trollies for us. Would highly recommend this garden centre and the staff.
D. M.
Nice place but mostly overpriced. Less plants than expected and lots of plastic tat ready for Christmas when I visited.
J. D.
Fantastic place.
Food quality in the Cafe was good and the service friendly.
Lot's of variety.
E. T.
Go there with my 3 year old weekly, nice place to look around, and a huge choice of flowers/shrubs.
K. P.
Pure heaven if you are a plant lover like myself!
I didn’t want to leave! 🤣
C. D.
You could literally spend the whole day here! Lots of indoor / outdoor plants , gardening and much more!
The cafe was quite pricey £20 for 3 to have drinks and cake. I would avoid the tea as it was substandard and tasteless. (Otherwise would have been 5 stars)
All the staff are nice and friendly , facilities we used where clean.
My 13 year old did say they had "weird flowers in the urinals" and he found it awkward to use!
I obviously cannot confirm or deny!
Y. l.
Friendly staff. The place is always nice and clean.
H. P.
A place that is brilliant for buying Christmas decorations but the staff are very rude and poor to customers
J. B.
What an amazing place to visit. Called on way back home from a day out at Cleveleys.
It was certainly worth going, it would be especially special during the build up to Christmas.
p. w.
Fantastic outing to Barton Grange, love looking round and can't wait to see your Christmas display
C. T.
What a fantastic place x great relaxing atmosphere, brilliant stock for gardens etc
R. G.
One of the best garden centres I've ever been too
P. D.
Fabulous place, clean and modern, Christmas time is best
B. P.
Never been before. Only a quick visit but plants looked very good quality.
M. A.
Always a cracking visit. Great options, love the festive section and the resteraunt
P. K.
Lovely place to visit. More than just a garden centre. The café is roomy but does get busy. The kitchen department is very nice and well stocked. The Christmas display is sparkly and cheerful. Lots to see and buy or just browse happily. Plenty of parking. Very nice.
A. S.
Cafe very expensive especially for the quality. Only thing that let's it down from 5stars. Have grown up with barton grange as have my children, good customer service, definitely good for an unusual gift. Not as magical at Christmas as the old site, the displays don't have the same WOW, less effort in them is noticeable, more generic department store but still worth it for different decorations. Plants always do well from here. Definitely worth visiting
L. W.
We have just enjoyed afternoon tea at The Willows restaurant at Barton Grange Garden Centre. The afternoon tea was incredibly good value considering everything else is top price. The price is £11-95 each, and is presented on a 3 tier stand. Three assorted sandwiches (one and a half slices of bread). A large scone with a pot of butter, pot of cream and mini jar of jam. Four mini sweet treats ie; cheesecake, drizzle cake, chocolate cup, and blueberry cake. This was with a choice of teas or coffees which could be refilled at no extra cost. The service was good. The décor was easy on the eye with dark wood furniture and wicker type seats. Afternoon tea is served between 2-30 and 4-30pm. They don't take bookings for less than four people. Top notch, will definitely be back.
C. J.
As always lovely house plants. The collection is comprehensive and there's loads for inspiration
S. G.
Beautiful garden centre well spread out helpful staff almost stocks everything, worth a visit
M. P.
Always a pleasure when in the area. Always have a great lunch in the cafeteria
A. A.
Love this garden centre. Standard of plants are first rate. Offer of good advice is available if required from knowledgable staff. Love the cafe.
S. T.
Not as good as previously obviously because of Covid shame as it's one of the things we do leading upto Christmas
P. R.
A lot of the bedding plants along with the others needed watering. Very unusual for BG whose plants are usually very good. Also choice of bedding plants a little limited compared to previous years. In the cafe filled rolls boring and overpriced and the rolls themselves seemed dry. Come on BG you can do better than this.
I. C.
Excellent Christmas displays as usual. Home accessories of a high standard with everything you need basic and luxury for your home and garden. It's a must visit especially at Christmas time.
Update October 2022: Christmas displays better than ever, high class.!
D. B.
Lovely place would recommend.Coffee and cake was yummy.
G. M.
The flower bowl looks grand, friendly helpful staff, and just what we need .
Brilliant .
J. W. (.
Always a fantastic place to visit, superb food in cafe and the farm shop.
n. g.
Large garden centre with a great range of Christmas lights and decorations
M. H.
I love this place and enjoy just browsing.Have good cafe and restaurant facilities. Really good stock... helpful staff. They make such a big effort with their Christmas designs. The only thing is I find it's quite pricey for the majority of the things that are for sale
T. C.
If you want unique and quality items for the home (not just the garden) then this is the place to for you.
I like posh kitchen items and kitchen gadgets and this place satisfied my needs.
The picture attached is the men's urinals, that should give you some indication of the unique character of this shop
S. W.
Just the very best garden centre ever full of beautiful plants, flowers, and things for the home and garden
C.
A lovely garden centre for Xmas decorations lights and trees.
L. V.
Excellent garden centre with everything you could want. Both Cafe and restaurant as well. Set in very nice surroundings.
j. s.
As always a good variety of plants and goodies on offer, together with the usual festive favourites. It is lovely to walk around the illuminated Christmas trees with all the trimmings. My only slight drawback is that some of the items are a little overpriced. I have a feeling there will be a lot of unsold goods after Christmas, maybe some good bargains to be had in the January sales.
S. F.
It's perfect for tourists & the range of items that are quirky & different is excellent. The Christmas settings are always impressive. I like the miniature diaramas.
The only downside is that they are expensive. Also, their breakfast is nice but very expensive for what you get.
R. B.
Beautiful as always everything you need for Christmas and lots of ideas to take home
R. H.
Lovely garden centre and farm shop. Great produce setting up Christmas displays which look fab
M. T.
Simply the best garden centre, with an excellent range of plants, a lovely restaurant and a great café. Even the toilets are high class! Loads of space to get around, which is a real bonus, and the farm shop is a joy. Take lots of money, you'll need it.
W. W.
Lovely choice of garden equipment friendly staff good choice of food in cafe and food and prices reasonable
J. D.
What a lovely place this is, the quality of the plants is amazing, the choice of plants is out of this world. So many different departments offering beautiful gifts and garden items. We also visited the cafe the sausage rolls were very tasty and the choice of cakes is amazing, I can vouch for the cream scones. Well worth a visit. You can spend hours looking around.
L. H.
Amazing place, lots of things to browse through and reasonably priced plants
M. H.
I love Barton Grange the cafe does a great breakfast and lovely cakes. The Christmas section was a let down this year, which maybe due to covid and the fact they have set the bar so high in previous years. Great place to visit and the golf at the flower bowl.
J. B.
We got some lovely plants and went in cafe for lunch. Pickled ham with fruits of the forest cheese cake hummmm. Lovely.
J. P. P.
What a totally massive and amazing gardening centre. Most people were obviously going for a day out. Includes a cafe, homewares and gifts. Staff couldn't do enough for customers
S. M.
Lots 2 see & looks amazing ! Love the plants & garden area
H.
Had a lovely lunch with family. Christmas decorations have been stepped up this year. Enjoyed wandering around and spending!
J. M.
Good as always although it was rather busy today. Big selection of all things Christmas however the extortionate prices make it less of a shopping trip, more of a fun day out with the family. Would definitely recommend taking young children as the displays are wonderful.
k. a. b.
We went for Christmas lovely decor, variety of things to buy, good parking, lots and lovely plants for purchase too.
M.
Absolutely loved this place. Plants exceptionally well looked after, great restaurant and farm shop. Well worth a visit.
G. H.
If Carlsberg did Garden Centres....
This is a premier league GC. It is more an experience than a shop.
Go hungry because the Cafe or separate Restaurant always delivers.
If Barton Grange hasn't got it, it doesn't exist. Caters for the serious gardener as well as any other including gifts ideas supreme.
If you haven't been at Christmas you haven't lived. The kids will love it and adults too.
Now with their sister ship the Flower Bowl across the road you have a day of activities galore.
J.
Lovely experience to walk around and see the plants , lights and Xmas decorations but everything is out of my price range! I can t afford to shop here. Fortunately my mum treated us to food in the restaurant but that was so expensive too and I didn't think there was that much choice on the lunch menu.
S. E.
It's more for the older or gardening enthusiast, but its lovely cafe and location. Variety of "shops" inside and plenty of parking outside.
D. A. A.
A lovely place!
Good for shopping and dinning
S. B.
Been here several time. You can shop all sorts. Fresh produce and frozen avail too.
Plants choices are very good.
At the moment they are transforming their space for Christmas. Lovely and I love all their decor.
C. A.
Barton Grange garden centre is fantastic .has a large lovely restaurant
C. C.
Lovely garden centre, especially great at Christmas for the kids. Food in the restaurant is lovely but a little overpriced
S. L.
Always great to visit when the Xmas decorations are out.
C. K.
Fab pre Christmas visit. So much to see! Beats everywhere else by a mile! Lovely cakes too!
J. S.
Great food although expensive (quality justified it).
Vast selection of Christmas lights and decorations.
Very popular on the Sunday afternoon (14 Nov) that we visited, so had to be a little while to get a parking spot.
Worth a visit if you're in the area.
N. N.
The best Garden centre I ever see( is much more in December) wow
J. H.
Lovely garden centre, plus lots more🙂
K. W.
So magical at Christmas time. Well worth a visit.
D. W.
Plenty of stuff for the gardener in a modern building.
Nice cafe and restaurant.
Helpful and knowledgeable staff.
T. i. m.
First time going to a garden centre and it's beautiful loved it some pretty amazing things . extremely clean friendly staff cafe food was brilliant .well worth a visit if I won lottery I would buy it all ☺️
P. E.
This place is very smart and clean and tidy, but for me a bit 'sterile'. It's a bit like walking into a department store rather than a garden centre. That said, I got the hedgehog house I was looking for but I have to say, most items on sale are expensive (I have seen identical items for a lot less elsewhere). I think many will enjoy this place nevertheless; there's a lot to see and buy and you can eat there too. Just not for me I'm afraid.
C. K.
Always a pleasure to take my Gradson here for Lunch
J. W.
Always a favourite place to call into when we're in the area. Qualify items for the home & garden, with a big selection, particularly outdoors.
P. S.
Set up for Christmas but the displays are not what they used to be. Prefered the old one way type system of the previous site and now the displays are just repeated each year. Yes it's nice but overpriced and can be crazy busy at weekends, especially if you want food.

Love this place. A chill out place. Loads of beautiful plants. Loads of different exciting stuff in their huge shop for garden, home and gifts. Christmas at BG is amazing as a huge part of the complex is given over to decorations , garden Christmas stuff and a nativity scene. Fantastic sit in restaurant and self service cafe. Recommending the afternoon tea. (we do this regularly as a treat). 👍⭐

Great garden centre. Plant selection is fabulous and the condition of the plants is always very good. The interior section is great for garden items and gifts. Lastly the food hall in amazing.. would shop there weekly if I lived closer. 5*+++
P. S.
Great place to get plants and garden things. But the only thing wrong is the coffee in the cafe it was like hot water not very good.
L. C.
Fantastic garden centre and decent prices to, only thing you can't get is 125ltr compost bags, but everything else is there, beautiful place, well worth a visit
A. W.
Very spacious and well set out. Good range of products. Prices mid to high. Cafeteria have an excellent choice of cakes. Plenty of free parking.

Nice place to visit, barge excursions near by, there is also an cinema, ten-pin bowling and other entertainment across the car park. Restaurant and cafe, wheel-chair access, toilets and usually a bargain or two somewhere around. Nice day out in the country on the A6 North of Preston, Lancs.

Beautiful Christmas display well worth a visit
C. H.
Visited with family members today, spoke to at least 6 members of staff in different departments, all of whom were absolutely lovely, helpful and knowledgeable, it's always a pleasure to shop with you and well worth the journey from Southport. Thanks for a lovely shopping trip.
C. P.
Please stop that thing in the garden centre outside plant area from trying to sing it's bloody awful and quite depressing
S. A. W.
A brilliant place to go especially if you want something different, lovely plants both indoor and outdoor, a cafe and restaurant, me and my mum spent many hours looking round
h. p.
Love coming here at xmas for the fantastic displays. Never a disappointment.
S. F.
This garden centre is my favourite, spend an awful long time there because there's so much variety and they have a lot of offers which makes you return again and again, a truly wonderful place, love it no matter the season or time of year, staff go above and beyond for their customers.
S. W.
Had lunch food excellent. Lots to see in the shopping/gardening areas.
P. H.
Favourite because atmosphere every time I visit.
d. a.
Afternoon tea £15. Delicious. 5*
R. K.
Good outdoor and indoor plant selection. Homeware section is good, a little pricey for some lower end items found elsewhere. Cafe is good quality food. The flower urinals in the toilet are a nice touch
R. l.
Very nice garden centre food also very good worth a visit
S. B.
Lovely displays, always nice to visit near Christmastime. Prices of plants and shop goods a lot higher now tho. We went to enjoy scones in café but there being no cheese scones, our favourite, was very disappointing. Or even ordinary fruit scones! Had to settle for weird hard fruit scone, split with a lot of cream and jam in its middle. Like a tower! Not as good as "proper" scones, which they used to have up to Covid changes. I'd recommend the half round of hand cut ham in brown bread sandwich @£1.70. Would have enjoyed a bowl of soup with sandwich better instead of "scone with cream and jam"! Ah well.
N. W.
Always amazing and great place for all the family
S. M.
Modern garden centre, quite pricey. Good selection of both plants and garden furniture. Some nice wooden sculptures. The neighboring Flower Bowl has plenty to do including cinema, crazy golf and Curling!
S. V.
Beautiful, all the Xmas decorations are on display
E. U.

S. R.

G. E.
Great afternoon Tea for a family birthday, lovely staff and very helpful
K. T.
Lovely selection of Christmas decorations. Our grandchildren had a great day looking round.
a.
I am unable to give garden centres 5 stars on the basis that my wife takes me round them far too often. This is a good one though, also good disabled parking and access.
A. B.
Great Garden Centre, has just about everything. Not cheap but well worth a visit
A. M.
Love visiting ❤ here. Somewhat overpriced but the experience has to be paid for somehow. Bought some lovely, unique items. Very little thought was offered for those with small yards in terms of outdoor furniture.
H. A.
Beautiful Christmas displays, as always.
b. s.
Absolutely beautiful garden centre with so much to offer. A balcony overlooking the river, a lovely place to have your coffee. A superb restaurant and cafe plus very large car park.
C. D. (.
Super quality garden plants, cafe and service restaurant, and shopping for home, garden and fresh food hall bags of parking what more do you want? Not to mention the resent building for fish m chips, cinema and other entertainment, that we have not experienced yet.
I. B.
Excellent garden centre, with other retail outlets - cookshop and farm shop.

All ways enjoy Barton Grange but never seen the river as high.

Love Barton garden centre every one will love it
G. L.
We went to the the ocean beach restaurant after a lovely visit to the garden centre itself. We last went there before the first lockdown and had a fantastic meal. We have to say that today was no exception, Will the young guy serving us was amazing in the care he showed us. The whole restaurant is now geared up for covid protection of both customers and staff but did not effect the quality of food or service. Well done every one and thank you..see you soon.
P. F.
Bit expensive. But a good morning out. Worth visiting.Lovely items to look at. Thanks to Colin for a lovely potato, cheese and onion pie. Delicious.
F. G.
Afternoon Tea was fabulous will definitely do that again
Beautiful place to visit
l. w.
Love it here brilliant for the disabled plus they loan you scooter s
D. C.
Love, love, love this place. From the COVID procedures in place and the welcome from the staff, there is so much selection from this garden centre and farm shop. The cafe and restaurant serves great food and snacks and it is always packed because it is so popular.
G.
Lovely place to visit, getting ready for their sale. No offers on their Christmas decorations at all. Love the food hall excellent choice and high standard
J. S.
Fantastic shop with an enormous range of... well, just about everything you will ever need or want for your house. You could spend a whole day here browsing and still want to come back the next day. Staff are helpful and friendly. Prices are obviously higher than they would be online, but you get guaranteed good quality and the warm, fuzzy feeling of supporting local business.
J. D.
We went for lunch. It was absolutely delicious. Sat right next to the river. This is a beautiful find. The shop has a vast array of product. I was surprised. Very lovely.
G. E.
We spent about 2 hours there the coffee nice and cakes to die for
M. G.
Love this place!!
Healthy plants and everything you need for them. Beautiful displays through out.
A large kitchen shop with lots of useful items utensils, cups, pans, electricals, baking equipment and decorative items.
Garden furniture, Bbqs, decorative features, ornaments.
A small selection of pet items and gifts.
Loads of ideas for gifts/ treats through the store - in colour/ design themed areas. From candles, framed pictures , cushions, vases, artificial flowers, greeting cards, books ,toys..list is endless.
You can easily spend the day here!
Great café with amazing food or a restaurant if you fancy something a bit more special - you can book when arrive- advisable. Just park your trolley in the safe area and enjoy.
Great butchers shop and small sweet shop at the exit. Toilets available. Friendly helpful staff.
I. T.
Very nice garden centre. Lots of Christmas decorations and lights. Any plants you dream or want . Also nice place to relax in the outdoor garden. A bit of a queue to enter but didn't look crowded inside which means that they respect the rules as well. Even the butcher side is something we have enjoyed. Try the sausage rolls. They are just brilliant.
t. s.
I like this place, a bit on the expense side but isn't everything these days. Go at Christmas time because the displays are unbelievable. Fantastic. If you want Xmas stuff or can't find it in your own town then visit here.
T. F.
Tranquil outside seating to enjoy the exotic plants and flora
Inside anAladins cave of many desirable items
A. J.
First time visiting in over a year, used to come here regularly for breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday. It's a shame to see breakfast prices have increased so much. I'm pretty sure it didn't used to be £8.95 for a cooked breakfast, we probably will visit less often in future.
M. F.
Love this place so happy to be back. Staff so lovely and friendly and helpful when you need it. Was on a mission for some of our favourite food helped by a list from friends. Had a gorgeous coffee and hot choc, really good safety procedures but never intrusive. Hoping to be back very soon.
C. C.
Big garden center with a variety of different products (e.g. Cookware, plants, home items etc.)
The cafe is nice too.
The displays at Christmas are excellent. For the past few years they have been doing a really good late night event during the week. The garden centre looks really good with all the Christmas decorations and lighting. They also do turkey rolls in the cafe which are nice!
C. B.
Everything is nice in the store but I just think they are starting to overprice things which you just wouldn't pay for what it is. There wasn't much choice to eat when getting a snack and drink for lunch.
As well as this, before leaving the garden centre and got 2 scoops of ice cream & there wasn't much choice to choose from as well as the woman scooping both scoops onto the cone, she did it so poorly that it ended up falling & dripping down the cone which made it impossible to eat.
All the staff are lovely though and everywhere in the garden centre is cleaned.
T. C.
Came here with the family for a visit and the atmosphere is just beautiful. There's so much to browse and though it's a little pricey, the quality is there. Definitely would recommend as with the cinema and the crazy golf, you could make a real day trip of this place. Have to say I'm also very impressed with the Covid response; the shop is laid out immaculately in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines, there are several hand washing stations in store and the workers are very aware when interacting with customers. Love this place.
R. T.
Genuinely can’t fault it. They know what they’re doing and they do it well. House plant section particularly is amazing. Huge range, good stock turnover so plants always fresh and they don’t over water. We have never had a plant that has been infected or has had root issues and trust us we have bought many!
T. H.
Love love love this place, be prepared to spend hours in here looking around.
S. L.
They have a wonderful display of Christmas decorations and displays, but it was all a bit pricey. I was a bit disappointed by my Christmas Rocky Road in the Café, expecting it to have some dried fruit and maybe spice, but it was just full of marshmallows.
R. S.
Visited for a little mooch about and lunch with my two babies.
The staff in the cafe couldn't have been more helpful, one lady kindly carried my tray as I didn't have enough hands.
All gave my babies a little bit of attention...sometimes as a mother of young children you feel a bit invisible but I was made to feel welcome and comfortable.
I didn't get specific names but just wanted to say thankyou. People like you are rare. Need more of them.
R. B.
Very good sanitation and good social distancing measures, but not very many decorations in store. Over all I thought it was a nice experience, just needs more decorations. The farm shop was very nice and very impressed with the food quality inside just maybe needs a couple more decorations in the christmas sections.
s. h.
Love it here plenty to look at and the food is good
C. R.
Fabulous place chrusmas decorations fantastic.
L. F.
Really nice selection of plants and homewares
P. H.
Love this place, even though they are under pressure to keep us all well spaced and safe.
They did wonderful displays for Christmas.
It was amazing. So much choice
My only regret was I could not have my scrumptious salmon sandwich with salad.
Take Care
p. R.
Expensive but the choice of goods, plants and farm foods exceptional
s. H.
Excellent garden centre with a nice cafe and wide range of excellent products
S. W.
Lovely garden centre with a great selection of indoor & outdoor plants, home furnishings, a cook shop & gifts section. The cafe is also nice, spacious & clean
K. H.
Nice e place to visit and great fish and chips from the Ocean restaurant
J. M.
Lovely place to visit, lots of choice
D. S.
Love this garden centre. It's well worth the trip from my home near the Scottish border. At Christmas it's magical. The farm shop is good as is the cafe.
L. H.
A lovely place especially with it being Christmas. Met up with friends for breakfast which we really enjoyed. The farm shop was so nice...wish I lived nearby!!!
M. R.
Everything you need for your garden and more. Beautiful plant arrangement trees and shrubs. Restaurant and self service can be recommended.
I. D.
Lots of parking available, staff on the door encourage hand sanitising. The toilets were open but the cafe was closed. We visited just before Christmas and most of the decorations had gone. There's a terrific garden centre with some excellent plants, pots and garden ornaments are spectacular. The farm shop is a must!
J. g.
Love this place the food is good and the Christmas decorations are beautiful
A. H.
Wow, fabulous experience. Sensational dahlias and all round outstanding quality. Today wasn't a shopping trip, but in February/March I would expect to spend 3 figures easily. Well worth a journey.
S. P.
You can't beat visiting Barton Grange at Christmas time. I've started playing a game of how many people exclaim "how much?!" while picking up things to buy & promptly putting them back.
You get extra points if they then go & tell a family member how much it was.
m. t.
All the plants very good quality Barton Grange is a credit to every one that works there
T. B.
1st class service from Lisa she showed us everything we wanted and knew about the plants we were buying
K. H.
Went in for a tree stake, not a big choice but had the size I needed
D. H.
Amazing place for young and old. Christmas selection is fantastic
v. h.
Everything you would expect from a great garden centre. Great selection of cakes in the cafe, together with hot and cold food. Some of the stuff is a bit pricey but well worth a visit and can recommend the cheese and onion pies in the farm shop.
J. C.
At Christmas it’s always done very well. Lots to see and the prices are reasonable. They section areas into colours so it’s easy to create a theme.
G. C.
Great choice for any occasion
R. M.
Busy, but enough space to walk round and look for garden things for spring planting. Some plants are even on multiply buy discounts. No eating inside, so no coffee and food on offer. The farm shop is open and selling ice creams, lovely on a nice day.
I. T.
Still getting use to the new norms. I bit of very early Christmas shopping. Best range of local produce I have see yet this year. Good food to be had both in shop and cafe.
i. m.
We went to look round and get some ideas for our garden area.It is a little on the expensive side but the products they sell are super quality.
S. G.
Very nice place all you need for your garden
J. E.
Good place to visit ,restaurant and good cafe also very good farm shop and cook ware shop. Has well has being a excellent garden centre.
G. R.
It is very expensive for the Xmas stuff and the home ware . I think it is the same every year pretty much nothing seems to be any different from our last visit except the massive hike in prices but it's ok for a wander for an hour if you live locally.
g. b. (.
Nice place to eat and visit
A. H.
Cleanliness is fantastic, hand sanitizers are everywhere, I felt so very safe, you can enjoy a lovely day looking around the fabulous garden centre, then have a fantastic lunch in the beautiful cafeteria or sit outside with lunch looking over the stream, its simply amazing I more than enjoyed my day.
W. H.
Great shop and cafe has good food
S. B.
Great place, spacious & well laid out.
C. E.
A wonderful shopping mail. A visit will convince you.
J. S.
Thought we were too late for lunch but realised restaurant was still open and a lovely staff member told kitchen that we needed a hot meal and it was after 4pm at this point so we thought we'd missed it there too... But we had a lovely meal!!
A.
One of my little girl's favourite places to visit. Good food, wide range of stuff to buy and just a generally nice, relaxing afternoon out.
J. V.
Love this place it's always immaculate with lovely staff on the door. Food is brill & plants cheap which you wouldn't expect. Always go here for a day out not too far & gives you a feel good factor.
D. F.
Excellent selection of Christmas decorations and ornaments. Lots for the kids to look at and kept them occupied for a couple of hours. Car park we'll set out, and good access all round. The food hall was open with a wide range of basics and speciality foods.
D. H.
Wonderful garden centre, with food and accessories available. Fully covid secure. Helpful staff. Great cafe and food, including gluten free options.
T. D.
Clean fresh well presented and reasonable price.
D. m.
Lovely place lots of lovely goodies
I. w.
The staff here are fantastic and the plant quality is top notch, it's towards expensive but the quality is there
The garden furnisher is good quality and not run of the mill. The farm shop is another story it's expensive and good for a very few choice bits. The only thing special is the ludicrous prices. Our local spar supports local produce and a lot of the items are in this farm shop and 40% more. The butchers has gone pre packed and lost the farm shop feeling. Plus they charge 20 pence for a paper/cardboard bag on the way out. It's just annoying, but still worth going for a treat
R.
Good house and garden plants. More garden than house but that's to be expected given that it's a garden centre.
absolutely solid gift options for older relatives (bird feeders, local produce, decorations)
M. P.
Great place to visit one in every year but never really buy anything as you can find things cheaper at other garden centres
