Reviews of Dobbies Garden Centre Hare Hatch
P. S.
Great place. Such variety of plants, shrubs, bedding plants etc. Not necessarily the cheapest but great quality so worth the extra.
We had a lovely coffe stop at the cafe - really delicious cakes and scones - will definitely return.
L. S.
A great selection of garden and household items. Staff in the cafe were very friendly.
C. I.
I really must stop going there. I go in with a list and always come out with much more than intended but you have to take advantage of the prices. Mind you, the garden is getting there, full of colour now.
Always stop for a bite to eat too, recommend the cappuccino sponge, too scrummy for words.
M. P.
First time visit for me as I was in the area and wanted some lunch- the cafe is nice and spacious and the food pretty decent but not give five star worthy (but not bad by any means). Overall the centre was nicely laid out with a lot of choice and a great Christmas set up. There's a pets corner, clothes outlet and free car park. I'd come again for a ride out and a change of scenery from the garden centres in Wycombe.
L. A.
Recently had a delicious breakfast at Dobbies. The food and service were excellent and my toddler and l were well looked after. Special thanks to Charlie for great customer service.
M. H.
A very organised garden centre with variety of product and quality. Prices are a bit steeper than what you would pay on Amazon of the same product but this is a conveniently located centre.
A bit disappointed with the male toilets facility. The toilets looked tidy but smelled awful and there was a lingering odour all around the place. Saw the inspection board with a date week commencing 10/02/20 but we were visiting on Monday noon 17/02/20! See the photo!
The female cashier at the till was pleasant and extremely helpful.
S. W.
Everything you need for the garden and more, food shopping, (fair size selection possibly Sainsbury's), pet store, clothes section and if looking about tires you out there's a good size cafè, pleasant experience!
J.
Easy to find and easy to park. Plenty of parking spaces. Everything you would want from a garden centre can be found. Cafe also.
P. B.
Good range of gardening material plants trees and shrubs. On the pricey side but quality good.
J. W.
Once or twice a year to stock up the garden for the summer. 21/5 selection very samey for bedding plants..begonias very 👍 good
C. B.
Large garden centre with a good range of products. They also have a small sainsburys store and a pet store. There is a cafe and children's play area, although this does tend to get quite busy and you might have to wait a little while for your food and drinks.
S. H.
Good Garden centre. Lots of plants . Cafe is good but does get very busy. Mainly due to soft play area. Lots of children. Does lovely coffee.
P. K.
I was very impressed with this garden centre, lots of stock at very competitive prices. Lovely selection of plants.
We had an excellent cooked breakfast, served piping hot.
All the staff were exceptionally professional.
We will definitely vist again.
A. F.
Great place to go for soft play and the cafe. Just needs Massive cafe/bar elsewhere or brewery and a real hangout for families to come. Just saying, praying 😉 Would absolutely smash it. Thanks again
J. N.
Lovely garden centre went at sheds and garden rooms was surprised at what a large selection was available to view.
I. B.
Went to buy some plants a great selection. Whilst there had lunch 😋 in the cafe. Lovely food and very clean. Thank you
R. G.
A good place to visit for a wide variety of thing's, not just gardening item's. Got a lovely calender, birthday card's and Christmas card's which I wasn't expecting. I had only gone to pick up a delivery from Cotton Traders.
J. P. K.
Great and wide selection, but I have found it pretty expensive compared to other places.
T. R.
Your usual "Garden Centre". Large National retail chain, ridiculously priced plants, curiously over popular cafe, "lift" or "on hold" music available to purchase and third party aquatics company on site. What more could you possibly ask for? :-S
G. P.
In comparison with the visit a year ago really big improvement, all plants had a price this time, and everything looked really well, cafe was nice, lemon tart was awesome. Over all really happy. The little strange Sainsbury local somehow feels out of place
D. P.
Very nicely laid out. Plenty of choice of plants. Friendly helpful staff.
R. L.
Under cover has very limited stock. There are large walkways. Outdoor plant area seems very good.
But overall extremely expensive when compared to other garden centres.
Obviously caters for the local rich.
The cafe gets 4.5 stars, very good food.
W. H.
Good range of everything you would want from a garden centre. Well-stacked, nicely laid out, and friendly staff. The shop is also very good and includes a useful food hall that is good enough for stocking the larder
S. R.
Love having a wander around the plants, and lots of household bits, and books and toys. Hot chocolate and scones in the restaurant .... just perfect 👌 x
L. H.
A lovely garden centre. We visited yesterday. There is a café, toilets, soft play, outdoor seating area with climbing frame and the usual flowers, plants and gifts.
@playgroundadventures
J. C.
Only visited for cotton traders. Friendly staff. Large centre. Parking meant a bit of a walk to the entrance
s. j.
Nice place to get indoor and outdoor plants. Lovely cafe and women clothing shop and pet food. Now they have little grocery shop. One stop to shop for different things. Bit little expensive.
H. W.
Great garden centre with a large selection of home and garden products as well as a varied plant collection.
L. T.
Had a lovely meal yesterday. Fish and chips. Good garden centre to visit. Sainsbury's cotton traders and a pet store all on site.
B. F.
Much better since Dobbies took over from Wyevale with what appears to be a better selection of plants and gardening accessories.
The cafeteria is good with a range of meals and snacks which are reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, helpful and the meal arrived quite quickly. Overall well worth a visit
L. K.
This is a huge garden centre with Pet Corner, children's soft play, cafe and aquarium store. I've only used the garden centre but the plants are good value and the hardy ones have a lifetime guarantee. Staff are friendly and helpful.
D. S.
Nice, place, had coffee, Sainsbury's for a couple of bits saved another trip. Bought a statue with discount as damaged, great member of staff, helped get best price, then he even loaded it on a trolley and into the back of my car. Fantastic service. This guy was an older chap with great customer service a real asset.
B. N.
This place has everything.there a cotton trader and a pets corner located within the store along with gift items and of course gardening supplies.
H. B.
Good selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. More plants than bric-a-brac tat!
V. P.
Really enjoy our visits here. First, the restaurant for coffee and scones then a wander round the store.
S. T.
Biga garden centre with a sainsbury inside. Friendly staff. Dogs welcomed.
E. E.
Good garden centre, lots to see and different outlets in a relatively small space - Nice outdoor section, very nicely presented but items are undeniably expensive. Good for a look around, but not much for your money!
C.
We visited here to look for patio chairs, which we didn't find but we had lunch at the cafe. Dogs are allowed at tables, towards the edge of the main cafe area. We had 2 toasted sandwiches (GF options available) and 2 coffees, which were very tasty and cost around £15. The site is spacious and masks must be worn inside unless seated. Hand sanitisation bottles are around. Cotton Trader's are also on site, with a good range of garments. We didn't look at the plant area as the weather was atrocious that day.
S. N.
It’s a very exciting place not only for garden shopping also so many other options like fishing, kitchens, pets and coffee. At the fishing centre we find staff too much friendly and helpful almost 2-3 people asked for help if we need. At the garden centre it’s a quiet good variety, but I was looking for indoor plant pots which was difficult to find and also they were pricey. Whereas other places got cheaper than here. Also outdoor area should be with clear visible signs. To find soil it took me almost 10 mins.
D. P.
We found it disappointingly just OK yesterday.
The garden centre over the road has a far better food offer and farm shop than the coin pocket sainsburys shoe horned in to Dobbie's. The Christmas display was farcicaly sparse and can't be blamed on deliveries as the competition had delivery issues and managed a far better choice.
Dobbie's was OK yesterday but I am afraid only OK.
M. J.
A very well laid out shop. Lovely cafe with a good choice.
J. P.
It's a garden centre chain, but has a small Sainsbury inside. Great idea.
W. G.
A well laid out garden centre with good selection of standard goods and some extra bits to help more your gardening along. Friendly staff and lovely cafe.
Slightly on the pricey side and overall a lovely experience and trip out.
J. C.
Garden Centre good. Plants great value and good quality. Cotton Traders nice to have when open.
Restaurant ...I think it needs a revamp it still feels like the grubby Wyevale restaurant with the metal tables and wicker chairs and staff in the restaurant tend to be inexperienced and need encouragement to be more welcoming and friendly.
Restaurant can get very noisy when soft play area is open.
K. J.
Good location and easy parking. Restaurant food is good and a very reasonable Breakfast.
P. R.
Really nice selection of everything you need for garden & outdoor spaces. Also has a cafe (currently closed due to restrictions) and a new Sainsburys local in-store. Staff are friendly and helpful. Worth a visit!
J. M.
Nice place, Sainsbury's is a bit expensive in there but friendly place.
J. B.
Great presentation. Careful with those Terrariums very delicate glass!
T. C.
Nice displays and well layed out. Delicious coffee. Our only bug. We saw adverts for a 'club card'. Nowhere did we spot they cost £15.00. Poor advertising.
B. C.
A lovely nursery and coffee shop. There is always a great special to be found. Free coffee every month if you are a club plus member. Well worth it.
J. R.
Dobbies has a good range of plants and garden equipment. It has a lovely section for household plants and Nick's and Nacks. The cafe is now open which has always served lovely cakes. Over all very good although a tad expensive.
A. C.
Great mixture of plants, shrubs and garden accessories. Also great cafe.
S. L.
Huge garden centre with great selection of hard landscaping and outbuildings.
M. S.
Great garden centre with a nice restaurant attached - not a huge range of food but pretty good nevertheless. Also has a big pets corner, a small Sainsbury's, and a casual clothes shop.
J. M.
Some frosty staff. The Pets corner is always friendly as is Cotton Traders
L. N. G.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Pet friendly.
J. E.
Had lunch on Sunday and had the vegetarian curry. Not to spicy just right. The young man behind the counter was extremely pleasant and helpful. Will definitely go again when in the, area
G. D.
Great garden centre.. shopping experience only spoiled by a rude blonde lady who was overseeing the tills. But her colleagues said she was normally like that, so we were not being treated especially badly by her, she was like that to most people and not the best to work for either!
L. B.
Lovely garden centre, good cafe, good prices 👍
S. R.
Great place for plants and now the Sainsburys Food concession in the main building. Always great customer service.
B.
Still a huge garden centre, nice helpful staff. They're running a promotion at the moment, especially good for those who want to sit and have a cuppa! I believe there's a monthly fee involved, but its a lovely place to explore garden ideas!
V. G.
Well stocked and easy to negotiate. Addition of Sainsbury's shop a bonus. Staff friendly and helpful. When open a really nice cafe.
S. H.
Lots of choice apart from flowers, a bit pricey.
J. a. M.
Lovely lot of seasonal plants and bedding, the shop inside has a lovely variety of gifts and gardening bits and bobs, a lovely cafe and they even have a cotton traders, very lovely morning spent there
A. W.
Definitely one of my favourite garden centres to visit ,Such a variety of plants ,gifts and a nice atmosphere helpful staff ,tasty cakes etc in a clean cafeteria.
G. P.
Great cafe, very good shopping with:
Xmas bits, children's books/toys, pet shop, Sainsbury (yes a proper sainsbury store) and of course a garden centre.
L. F.
Quite spacious, had a variety of pots and plants to choose from and lots of miscellaneous items. We bought a small succulent and a jigsaw puzzle.
M. B.
I nice garden centre - ex Wyevale. They have a large selection of plants an accessories. There's also a cafe, clothing and groceries stores.
A. C.
Absolutely lovely garden centre. Clean and lots in stock too. From garden, through cooking, accessories to kids toys and crafts.
We were going to go and have lunch but the queue was huge, it must be good.
T. B.
Very nice place they have a large selection of goods. And the cafe if dog friendly with lovely food.
P. A.
very good ,great service nice staff friendly and helpful
J. P.
Lovely garden centre had lots of beautiful plants very good restaurant and lots of different things in store will be back again soon.
J. A.
All change for most depts.. pets corner has most things you could ever need..had a coffee but the card machine was not working..so asking for cash if you could..not the end of the world!!.. also front tills were out as well.. old fashioned sign on slips..that long since I'd signed..not sure it would pass🤣

We don’t come here very often but this is our second visit and, once again just like the first, we were informed that the restaurant was out of food and half the menu was unavailable because two of the chefs hadn’t turned in for work and the serving staff hadn’t had chance to get more food (???). And this was at 1pm on a Tuesday, right in the middle of lunchtime, which was not exceptionally busy! As it was a while since our previous visit and the same excuse was being used, either the chefs are poor employees and frequently absent from work or it is usual for this place and therefore very poorly managed!
(Whilst typing this review we can hear others complaining about the food being served cold, so we are waiting for ours with dreaded anticipation!)
This is disappointing as the rest of the garden centre is tidy and well stocked compared to the poor performance of the restaurant - hence the reason the average rating, otherwise it would’ve been higher.
J. M.
Spot on. Social distancing good though one way signing could be better as we got lost finding exit. Cafe excellent with good choice of menu. Excellent staff keeping place well sanitised. Will definitely return
K. 5.
Great range but a little pricey for some items.
G. T.
Nice but the FLT driver was a bit slow
J. B.
Good food, good shops (cotton traders, pets shop, and food shop) as well as garden centre.
l. w.
First visit here but will return again. Not too busy which was great and it's a big place. Staff were lovely too! 👍
D. D.
Large stock to choose from; cafe very good.
R. A.
Father Christmas with tea
I took my 4 & 5 year old to see Father Christmas and booked the Santa with Tea.
Well it was superb from start to finish. Great value for money and the staff were exceptional. It was brilliant. We will definitely be returning next year. The quality of food was outstanding along with the present each child received. Fantastic quality. Thank you Hare Hatch
S. B.
Nice centre, good collection of plants and out buildings. Premium prices however and no significant bird food section when I visited in March 2021.
P. H.
Good garden centre, well stocked with good food at the cafe. Covid safety measures seem decent. Toilets in need of attention and very smelly.
M. E.
Loverly shopping environment. Healthy plants and a good afternoon out
J. B.
It was OK. Sausages were well overcooked and no butter for toast which I had to ask for. Reasonably-priced though.
D. A.
Nice friendly, clean place with lots of products. Supermarket, Restaurant and on site kids area and Aquatic centre.
c. d.
They always have a wide variety of products to fit everyone's themes and personalities and prices to suit all! Great for getting inspiration or having a browse in your free time.
S. C.
Is what it is staff have to work in a terrible hot work environment.
b. b.
Was looking for hedging.. They had a great choice an looked so healthy. Unfortunately I enquired about delivery as plants quite large. Was told I would have to hire a van from somewhere. Surprised you don't offer a delivery service.
A. G.
When we arrived the weather was bad, it had been raining heavily. My wife pulled in right at the end of a row of cars to park and due to a large deep ditch she basically dumped the front of the car in to a invisible whole. I bought this to the attention of a manager (name BELIEVED to be Gregg), he was very competent and sympathetic. I wanted them to know about the incident for the fact that it genuinely could have damaged someone's car due to the depth of the damaged tarmac. The manager offered a complimentary coffee and we were very greatful. A thanks to Gregg and please notice his level of professionalism as he acted on the issue straight away. Cheers.
J. S.
Good place to go ...Still covid aware..Helpful staff ..
S. C.
Very healthily stocked selection of plants and flowers today at Dobbies Garden Centre Hare Hatch A4. Relaxing and enjoyable experience. Friendly staff.
Will be returning here.
T. W.
Great Christmas trees, nice pet store, and helpful staff
S. W.
I knew it a very long time ago, when it was Kennedy's garden centre.
It's a great place to find lovely plants and all types of garden items.
The café in here is excellent.
S. B.
Not a bad place to visit for a coffee and cake.
J. T.
Still a good variety of annual as well as very many perrenial large and small plants shrubs and trees.
Z. W.
Not too bad after it's refurbishment. The in store compact Sainsburys was a welcome surprise.
N. W.
Lovely afternoon tea. Great value for money. Delicious cakes (4 different kinds each) scones, jam and clotted cream, good sandwiches. Really enjoyed it .
J. C.
visited for the first time this afternoon and unfortunately was rather disappointed with the quality of plants offered for sale
many were very bedraggled and far too dry - there were lots of dead flower heads
limited choice of herbaceous plants to be honest and a rather uninspiring selection
I left without buying any plants at all - this is unheard of !!
regretfully I won’t be going back any time soon
D. S.
Had a lovely meal & the cafe & looking for plants for the garden
X. A.
Excellent service. Very friendly staff
O. B.
Good collection of plants, price felt upper than other places. Lovely staffs
H. D.
Free soft play!! Cafe queuing was a little confusing. Husband got in line twice and then gave up.
K. D.
Nice happy friendly staff very helpful amazing coffee
D. F.
Sadly garden centres are not what they used to be. Too much bought in products. Too little home grown.
A. W.
Good variety of plants and other outdoor products. Ladies at checkout enjoy having long conversations with customers, which some may like but it's frustrating when you're queueing to pay.
C. C.
Bought some lovely garden chairs. Had tea and cake in the cafe.
B. G. B.
On the 11th June 2019 this garden centre (previously Wyevale) was taken over by Dobbies, so anything older than that review wise is mostly irrelevant. Please keep visiting while the transition to the higher Dobbies standard is slowly introduced with a whole new look and product range etc.
R. E.
Had a thorough look around the summer houses etc and later phoned Roger for advice. We had bought one a few years ago. Couldn't find any staff to ask for advice.
P. J.
Great improvement on previous garden centre...well worth a visit and very up market now...
D. B.
Great lovely atmosphere. The drinks were great nice and hot and very and helpful staff.
K. C.
Neat and tidy, good quality
p. c.
Service in the restaurant was very good apart from being served a raw chease burger but the problem was delt with very well great friendly staff
H. M.
A good selection of plants at reasonable prices. A bit low on ranges of compost and bark chips on this visit though.
J. F.
This is a great place, drinks are free for us due to not being able to use our vouchers for over a Yr.
J. R.
