Reviews of Byrkley Park Garden Centre

Visited as a day out due to hearing about the wonderful Christmas displays and frankly a bit underwhelming.
Cafe is much more along the lines of a supermarket chain than fancy restaurant, and a bit tired decor wise at that, but they charge restaurant prices anyway! No sandwich’s or panini’s available (at over £5 each anyway) yet they can do meals and jacket potato (At over £8+) so ridiculous to eat there and food is only mediocre. Trifle was almost £5 but consisted of 2” jelly and 1cm custard, a swirl of artificial cream and sprinkles!! Total rip off. Victoria sponge tasted fresh and tasty though. Non fizzy soft drinks £3+
Plenty of additional stores inside the store to look at but you’d struggle to spend more than 2 hours here. Much better garden centre set ups out there for a day out.

Love having a browse here. Efficient and friendly staff, great products on offer and nicely laid out. Shame there weren’t any animals at the moment. Young man on the tills was very knowledgeable about the house plants and told us about his gecko that curls up in the type of plant we bought. Made my birthday. Lovely stuff!

A nice garden centre with a good range of products and on site tropical fish store. Nice cafe a highlight has always been their gardeners breakfast for those with a small appetite it comprises a slice of bacon, one sausage, an egg, baked beans and toast for a low price. Get there before 10.30am so it is fresh. Lately portion control has diminished this offering further, understandable costs are rising and they don't want to put up prices for a sensitive market. Join there loyalty scheme for £12 a year and get two free drinks a month and reward points, well worthwhile. Less family oriented than it was with the pandemic closure of its animal farm and falconry as well as the loss of their local ice cream supplier that has not been replaced, a terrible omission. Nice deli and other franchises and good plants, the whole point I suppose. Tends to be more oriented to the older customer now.

Lovely garden centre. Shame there doesn't seem to be enough staff to clear tables in and around the restaurant of cutlery and crockery. I took a few trays laden back to the kitchen area. We counted at least 10 trays on tables. Not a good impression to be honest.

Currently undergoing a makeover but Xmas displays are good. Plus new Pavers shoe outlet

Somewhat disappointing! We returned after an absence of some months but restaurant was poor (we believe staffing problems were cause) but the condition of toilets was far lower than it usually is and the meal trays were well past their best and needed proper cleaning and a fresh surface applied. The rest of the premises are going through an extensive refit and the Christmas displays were being installed so it would be unfair to offer any negative criticism before all the work is completed.

Garden Centre well laid out, plants tree and shrubs all look well and healthy. Christmas area was being completed but what was done was interesting. Food in restaurant was plain but nicely presented. Wheelchair accessibility seemed good.

Restaurant poorly staff between 12.00 and 13.00. I queued for 20 minutes to get a coffee as there was only one member of staff operating a barista machine, although there are two machines. And waited 25 minutes for a plain sandwich to be delivered. I would strongly advise customers to avoid the restaurant between the hours of 12.00 and 13.00 or be prepared for a long wait for food and beverage delivery.

I have shopped twice in two days at the aquatics centre and each time all staff that I encountered were lovely, professional and knowledgeable about the fish and products. Special thanks to Maureen and Casey for their assistance.
I will be shopping here again and the products are reasonably priced.
