Amazing collection of whiskeys! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and reasonably priced products. Great for a browse even if you don't feel like buying anything, but you probably won't leave empty handed!

There is a great variety of “Friend at Hand” Irish Whiskeys here that you can’t get anywhere else. Even if you aren’t a whiskey drinker and maybe just looking for a gift, the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Unlike any place I have ever been. An absolutely exceptional collection of Irish whiskey, and staff member we interacted with was charming, knowledge and an absolute delight. Red Spot and Blue Spot both on hand. So much fun!

We were looking for a whiskey which cannot be bought in Germany to offer something special to our friends. We made a find with 'The friend at hand' own brands which are not sold online or in any other shops. All varieties can be tasted before you make your decision. We choose a lightly peated 'nine glens' and a smooth fruity 'Girona gold'. Also enjoyed the story behind the 13 year old bottlings and the chatting with the owner.

Great shop! Staff was very helpful and told us all about the different Irish whiskeys. We went away with some miniatures and came back the next day to buy some bigger bottles! Great place and a must for whiskey lovers.

This is a place where you can buy both normal, popular whisky as well as unusual ones. All the whiskys are only Irish. The gentleman selling them is very helpful and he knows what he sells very well. Compared to what we have in Poland from those whiskies that are common they are little bit more expensive but it is all about buying something special rather than usual stuff. You will find something interesting for yourself or your dad 😉 fors sure. It is also worth popping in and have look at the store itself.

Excellent selection of Irish whiskey including some Bushmill's bottled exclusively for the shop. In addition to normal 700 ml bottles, they also had a good mix of 50 ml bottles to try. Attendant was very helpful and gave a lot of good information on the different whiskies.

I called into the Friend at Hand today after my first visit last year when I bought a cool gift - a book called writers tears which opens up to reveal 3 little whiskey bottles. Inside is a gent called Ray who is friendly, full of chat and knowledge. This visit I spotted a new feature (it’s full of antiques) - a stone from Giants Causeway on the till area! There’s also small whiskey bottle labelled with each of the counties of both Ireland and Northern Ireland if you are looking a souvenir - they are £6 each. Find this whiskey shop opposite Harp bar in the cobbled streets of Cathedral quarter.

Just about every Irish whiskey can be bought here and they have the only 13 year old Jameson, which is rather smooth. Can be a little pricey but you do get to share their knowledge.

Just learned last week that this place existed, and it's long overdue. Great to see a specialist whiskey shop that has everything Irish on its shelves, from your standard Bushmills to an original bottle of Dunville's VR, more suited to a museum than a shop. Staff are enthusiastic about the subject, and I could have spent ages discussing the merits of all the varieties and brands out there and neither myself or the gentleman behind the till would have gotten bored. They're doing a series of bespoke bottlings and, based on the first one (Reconciliation, a bourbon-casked single malt), they know their whiskey - it's delicious. Time limited me to just a brief visit but looking forward to seeing the mini-museum upstairs. The Irish whiskey revival has focused very strongly on Dublin pot-still and it's great to see that there are folks determined that Belfast's heritage also is represented. A new classic and long may it thrive.

Rob was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Irish whiskey, I was in Belfast for 4 days and this made my trip. I spent an hour in there just talking to Rob about Irish whiskey and looking around before I even bought a bottle. A must go to place in Ireland if you like Irish whiskey.
