Loved visiting here when I lived in Glasgow. Great selection of beer, wine and spirits, and absolutely amazing staff who will go out of their way to help. I've been in a different country than my partner since the start of lockdown and the Good Spirits Co has been my go-to for sending gifts. The shipping is excellent and they've even made the effort to hand write any gift notes I've forced upon them! I wouldn't go anywhere else for boozy birthday and Christmas gifts. There is a wine store and a liquor store right round the corner from each other. They're the same business but you have to go out on the street to gain access from one to the other. There is a fair selection but, like many businesses, Covid has been used as an excuse to inconvenience customers. The bottles are all roped off at a distance where you really can't see the prices. Personally, I like to peruse before purchasing. You just can't do that here. On the other hand, I did ask the clerk for a non-fruity, dryish, red wine and she hooked me up with a very smooth Chilean Sharaz in the price range that I'd requested.

Ordered two bottles of whisky online yesterday afternoon, both arrived today. Great selection and fairly good prices. I like the fact they offer their own independent bottlings of whisky. I also visited the shop when I was in Glasgow a few months ago. Staff were friendly and it is a nice place. Only suggestions would be to state whether or not their own bottlings are non-chill filtered and natural colour as well as offering a cheaper delivery option. I'd have preferred to pay less and wait a few days!

I love coming in here to browse the latest gins and other spirits. You’ll always find something new and the staff are fantastic, so friendly and knowledgeable. Always up for giving a sample as well. If you're looking for a great selection of imported, seasonal and local beers in the city centre, this is the place to go. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable without being too pushy. Quite a small shop so can get packed with people quite easily making it hard to pick out drinks, but that's out of anyone's control. Has some decent fridge space as well so a good selection of pre-cooled drinks are available.

I received a lovely bottle of gin for a birthday gift. However, ordering online wasn’t the best experience. I paid extra for NDD and received the bottle 3 days later. When I approached the good spirits their reply was to blame DHL and apologise. I replied to ask why I had still paid next day delivery and not received my item. Again another apology. No refund and no compensation. Not the best customer service if I’m honest. Wouldn’t order online from them again.

I have begun to understand what these folks are going for as the inventory and business has grown. Imagine going into a regular off-license. Nestled in there is a rare bottle of fantastic-ness. You have to ask yourself, "What the hell is a great bottle, doing in a place like this?". It stands out since it has nothing in common with the normal bus-stop advertised bottled dross that defines most of the stock in these liquor stores. What Good Spirit has done is take all of those stunning bottles and given them a home. First. there is a Whisky line-up that not only defines some of the hottest malts for collectors and drinkers, but also a wide range that will satisfy most budgets. They are not unique in this. There are several other Whisky Shops that supply this need. There are a small group of whisky shops that reject the tartan tourist trap business model and take this stuff seriously. That alone puts them in a small group of peers in the UK. Under ten shops provide this service in Britain. But then you get to the other stuff. Exceptional Bourbons, Rums, Tequilas and Vodkas. This area has been under-represented and the stock in here can take your breath away. I have only brushed the surface of the rums and bourbons, some of my fellow alcohol aficionados state that the tequilas and vodkas are also world class. For example, there is one rum in this shop that is seriously good. I mean Lost Weekend good. Buy one bottle and you are definitely coming back for two more. Am I going to tell you? No bloody way. Find that one out for yourself. The shop is easy enough to find.

Since they've moved the beer from the original store the rotation and freshness of the beers has improved no end, nevermind fridges! Recent upsurge in local nano breweries are well represented, plenty of sought after American and European gear and a sensible spread of new UK releases that turn over as frequently as you'd expect for a city center bottleshop. Normally David is on hand without forcing your hand, especially when they've some lesser spotted treats (today's visit included some top shelf bretted beers) and the service is super swift if you need it to be. Minusing a star due to the opening hours. I've communicated this since they kicked off round the corner, especially as a central source. If I'm travelling through from Edinburgh at 1830-1930 off peak only on Thursday might I catch them open and this hasn't changed during the longer term.
