Reviews of Huntsworth Wine Co. Ltd

Huntsworth is a gem in the neighbourhood. Long before I knew anything about wine, the team at Huntsworth kindly and patiently helped me select wines across a range of varietals and wine regions. They went a long way in demystifying the world of wine with ample humour and honesty. From the connoisseur to the novice, Huntworth puts the customer first and offers great value for money across price points. From rare finds to reliable classic staples, Huntsworth is best in class for independent specialty wine shops.

They are a truly independent and traditional wine merchant. They sell exciting wines from across the world but specialize in Bordeaux and bottle-aged Grand Cru Classé with reasonably prices.
They are based in the heart of Kensington, just south of Notting Hill Gate. Originally they were a small family-owned antiques shop run by Tuggy who started The Huntsworth Wine Company back in 1990.

What an honour it was to attend Tuggy's veritable palace of vinous delights. If you're not buying top shelf (at least la mission haut brion) then you should promptly leave.

One of the very, very best small independent wine merchants in London. I've never, ever seen a boring bottle in the place, Tuggy's prices are eminently fair and it's often a treasure trove of exceptionally fine wine that is difficult to find anywhere else. A wine lover's paradise.

Quite simply the best wine shop in London. Unbeatable collection of fine wines, notably Bordeaux, most of which are classic bottles, ready for drinking and keenly priced. Owner Tuggy and his team are hugely knowledgeable, always genial and happy to guide you through their wonderful selection of bottles. Well worth a visit for those who enjoy wine; unmissable for the committed oenophile.

Probably the best wine merchant in London. A vast quantity of wines are available mixing geographies and vintages.
Asking for the impossible is not even a challenge at Huntsworth Wine as it is already available and waiting for you

One of the very best small wine shops in London. Tuggy is passionate about wine. He finds many gems that you won't find elsewhere, you won't find a boring bottle anywhere and the prices are always fair.

While traveling on Business in London, I found by chance this lovely wine shop. I was looking to buy some Christmas gifts for clients, and I chose to visit based off of the reviews on Google. Upon entrance, I noticed that they carried my favorite Bordeaux (Chateau Fonplegade) and automatically grabbed several bottles. I then spent some time gazing throughout the store, and noticed that HUntsworth Focussed on quality wine producers (over quantity without value) at intelligent price points for all budgets. The staff was educated and extremely helpful to say the least.
I then had the good fortune of meeting Tuggy Meyer the Proprietor of Hunstworth. We struck up a conversation about the Bordeaux, and then launched into multiple topics before I left. Tuggy was not only engaging and intelligent about wine, but was magnanimous in his generosity. I could have traveled back to the states and paid less online for the bottles I bought, but the value of the experience, the way I was treated, and the value I place on supporting a locally owned business trumped small minded thinking solely about price. I bought as many bottles that I could fit into my luggage back to Kansas City.
Small proprietorships like these lost art in many parts of the world, and its up to us as consumers to support them. It’s not only better for the local and national economies of all countries, it benefits the human interactive value beyond a impersonal transaction online, and leaves one with a sense of connection, education, and sociology/economic meaning on multiple levels.

I've never been to such an amazing wine shop in my entire life! Owned and run by a guy called Tuggy, really funny and lovely chap. Is there a better looking wine shop in London then this?

The best. If you want the finest Bordeaux and Burgundy of varying bottle age along with a highly selective choice of other regions, all curated by a man who really knows his stuff, go here. If you don't, go next door to Lea and Sandeman.
