E. M.Friday evening drinks and compulsory food due to COVID restrictions. Had really nice drinks and loved the atmosphere of the place. Must say that in London finding nice music within bars it’s tough so I was pleased to listen to some nice music mix. Staff was friendly and really happy to assist and chat.
One thing I wouldn’t recommend and that’s the minus 1 start would be the calamari which didn’t really worth it.
Overall happy with the place, will revisit for sure!

N.Went after work for some drinks. The cocktail- cosmopolitan, which wasn't bad, but has a slightly odd burnt taste. The truffle chips were nice and fresh though
G. C.Really cute boutique rooms. Small but cozy. We booked in for one night and enjoyed staying in. The decor is modern. The record player is a nice touch. There’s a small fridge well stocked with drinks and free samples of their gin. The bathroom is clean and the water pressure is amazing! The soaps and shampoos are also quality products. Only thing is there’s a lot of stairs to climbs to get to the rooms. So if you are traveling with heavy luggage, be aware of that. But overall, would love to come back and stay here again next time!
A. W.This place was recommended to me as I was looking for a good place to have some gin. It looks well done up. And the variety of gin was amazing. The bar tender was quite knowledgeable,. The crowd is decent. A definite recommend if you looking to have an evening out with your mates or looking for a cosy night cap with a lovely friend.
Not to forget, they do have their home brand of gin called Portobello Gin which is fantastic! And if you want to give someone a unique gin, then you can buy the bottle of gin straight from the bar!!
Would definitely go back to this place again.
D. C.Went for drinks. Please do yourself the favour and sit upstairs. It opens at 3. Drinks were definitely good but the host seemed a little stressed. He was running around a lot even though there weren’t that many tables full and the upstairs wasn’t open yet... I wonder if it might be a staffing issue.

P. S.Lovely pub on Portobello Rd but sadly portion was very small (barely any soft shell crab in my burger, topped with a burned bun) and just an average Taste. Staff were friendly which was a plus.
We weren’t asked to check in for our visit for covid which is a little worrying.

The guy serving us was really great and friendly and the drinks were good. Quite steamy in there but lovely setting and not that expensive for cocktails considering the area!

G. K.I'm visiting regularly with friends. Great place for drinks. Staff is really helpful. It's worth mentioning that they follow all guidelines for Covid. They even take your temperature before you enter the place. A great place to visit and get the vibes of portobello road!

The experience was more detailed than expected with a vast wealth of gin history discussed. And then you get to make your own....how cool is that.
Food was a pleasant surprise. Shared meal concept as we were a large group but was all great quality and rather tasty.

We had some incredible gin and tonics (their own gin is amazing) and wanted to buy some. Their master distiller bottled some and saved it for us before being sent to bars. Great staff and great food.

The team are hugely knowledgeable and guide you through the history of gin up to the preset day, serve a variety of different cocktails and finally help you through a whirlwind of potential flavour combinations to make your very own gin. All in the delightfully decorated surroundings of Portobello's homage to a Victorian gin palace.
R. K.Went to the upstairs GinTonica. Great selection of gin drinks - sampled quite a few between us and all were fantastic. Also has the tapas menu which was great. Portion sizes were good and food tasted great. Vibe upstairs is quite chilled and nice and cosy. Staff also super friendly!

The space is nice and very trendy. It had two floors. The ground floor it's mainly for drinks but you can order some tapas too. The upper floor has the kitchen and tables to get dinner.
The gin offer is very wide, and the staff is friendly. The weekends is usually crowded so it is better to book a table even Moe if you are more than 4 people.
The tapas are good quality and prepared by a Spanish cook.

S. P.Very very good drinks and a comfortable location. No matter if you join just for a drink or for some food too. The staff is looking for your needs and is serving fast. The food smells delicious and the drinks are excellent. The tender knows the drinks well and knows how to serve them! I will be back for sure!
P. B.This was an absolutely lovely new pub that hosted the 7 of us for lunch. Although the food came out staggered with a some delay between dishes the staff were so lovely. They offered us complimentary dessert which was gorgeous.
The food was very tasty and the staff are friendly, approachable, and very honest. Making it a truly lovely lunch.
V.Upmarket bar and restaurant. Good choice of Gin and cocktails. Staff were attentive as one would expect from a bar of this standard. Tapas are served in the upstairs bar and charcuterie in the downstairs bar. We tried the tapas and they were good. Overall a great experience. Budget about £10-£12 per drink.

R. W.A birthday present from my wife, a trip to The Distillery, expect a very warm welcome from all of the team, Will, the resident bar host was very knowledgeable and a delight to talk to. Upstairs, a cosy tapas bar, with a focused and well put together menu, and an exceptionally stocked gin bar. The star of the address, is the Gin Experience in the cellars, where you make your own gin, simply an excellent, complete night out all in one location and if you book in early enough, there are three double bedrooms available as well.
T. H.A modern and trendy drinking establishment with a varied selection of drinks and food available. The staff are really friendly about the food and drinks they are serving. I'd highly recommend the great selection of Portobello Road Gins they have here.

M. S.Having been several times to the Distillery it never fails to impress. The food in Gintonica was amazing, highly recommend the ox cheek. Staff were very helpful and knowledgable about the drinks we had, the basil and pepper gin and tonic is a personal highlight.

Ate here for the first time this week, food was quite nice but that was the weirdest patatas bravas I've ever had!? No tomato sauce? Was more akin to spicy spuds and mayo! LOL 😂
A. K.The Gintonica at the distillery is a lovely cosy place right on Portobello road with knowledgeable baristas and bartenders and chefs who were great on recommending drinks based on taste. Make a great evening of it and stay there for a while trying out what they can offer.

We were so disappointed that they shut the bar a 10pm instead of the advertised 1am, we were told its because its January! Unfortunately the other bar has a completely different drinks menu so my treat was a tad spoilt.. however Ben was lovely and looked after us well.

B.the distillery Popular in the UK for its unique gins of their production and famous for their worldwide sale of their "Portobello Gin" (whose symbol is shown at the intersection of the street) the ground floor is a Pub / restaurant. beer but ... the logos of the breweries are not shown (bottles apart) The bar is much more concentrated on cocktails so I suggest you aim to discover their vast list of drinks (many based on gin) the food of excellent quality but lacking in novelty because the menu on the ground floor contains mostly English dishes but! From here we pass the "Gintonica" Tapas Bar upstairs with a show kitchen and a much more intimate atmosphere for couples, Spanish dishes cooked in front of your eyes matched with cocktails in the lounge bar and the wide range of Portobello gin and brands of other countries in the world! The Gintonica is 1 of 2 strong points of this place and finally for those who love the history of alcohol here is the under ground (with the entrance in the inside) The GinIstitute: a unique experience where you'll immerse yourself "in the true sense of the word" in the history of gin and finally you can create your own bottle of gin to bring it home !!! (We must book)
I give it 4 stars because it deserves to be visited but the menu of the ground floor my opinion I do not like,
So if you want something unique and original remember the Gintonica is the gin institute

Resurrecting the ghost of a bygone 'Gin Palace' around a working in-house distillery, an eponymous gin brand, bottle shop and a hands-on 'Ginstitute', this establishment really mixes it up without missing a beat.
Everything to know about gin and then some more. Informed and on-form staff here with pricing unfortunately tempting the bounds of indecency.

In un desolato lunedì sera, il The Distillery sembrava uscito da un quadro di Hopper. Bellissimo il locale con un arredamento particolare che crea un'atmosfera intima e calda. Peccato il personale che (seppur con locale praticamente vuoto) quando abbiamo finito il primo giro di bevuta, alla nostra indecisione su ordinare ancora o meno, ci ha portato direttamente il conto e dopo 5 minuti un altro cameriere si è presentato direttamente col pos al tavolo per farci pagare. Hanno decisamente rovinato una bella esperienza.
