Reviews of The Wine Library

Excellent range of wines, deep knowledge of the product and a fine atmosphere with interesting and well presented fixed price lunches.
The most awesome oenological experience in London.

A great little Gem of a wine lovers venue and not your normal winebar being hidden in the basement of a georgian building in two long vaulted rooms. Very experienced staff with fantastic knowlwdge of wines from around the world. Fantastic selection of wines available at a prices that range from the everyday wines to something very special. A great place to meet with friends and enjoy the wonderful cold buffets at lunchtime. Booking in advance is best to avoid disappointment as this is a very popular venue for the insurance and banking industries. I've been gpoing to this venue since 1990 and have always had perfect service, wine & food.

Lovely little place. Wine cellar / vault like interior, quiet and intimate: feels almost as if you've stumbled across a secret. Fantastic choice of fine wines at a reasonable price. It's a bit shabby - could do with a coat of paint and there was a large spider in the toilet - but that kind of adds to its charm. The only real downside is the early closing time (8pm Tuesday to Friday) and we kind of had to rush to finish (although we were allowed to stay until after 8). The champagne we had was presented in an envy-inducing Le Creuset chiller, and the cheese plate was delicious. Well worth a visit for any wine enthusiast.

Good to see it back up and running and reasonably busy sad the buffet has gone but the replacement never board is excellent quality and good value. It was good to be back👍

Stunning collection of wine and cheeses! Bit of a hidden gem - highly recommend a visit if you love wine!

Low key wine bar heaven. Arched wine bar/shop with a decent selection of mainstream and lower volume producers. The value varies, high volume not so much, low volume excellent. Special house champagne cuvée £25.99, yet to taste but it has to be better that anything in a supermarket for that price.
Small selection of mid/low range wines by the glass.
Definite return for a bottle at £9.95 corkage.

We came here for a private event a couple of months ago and it was fantastic. Lovely wine, good atmosphere and friendly and generous staff. Will definitely come back as I've heard they have a lovely buffet lunch. Thanks again for hosting us team!

A fabulous choice of good value interesting wines to suit anyones taste. You choose your wine off the shelf at shop price plus £ 9 corkage then drink it in the cellar bar with a lunch time full buffet of cheeses and pates bread and salad. They also now do a selection of wine by the glass had an excellent NZ sauvignon for £6.
They are open in early evenings with their amazing cheese plate so much better than i've tried at any other place.

We did a cheese and wine tasting with work colleagues. Very interesting and good wines. Not too pricey either. Lovely cave setting. Very good choice of wine and cahmpagne to buy.

If you like cheese, crusty bread and selecting a favourite wine of the shelf then this is it. Old school city of London lunch business lunch and all after wine drinking spot.
Fresh cheeses, pates and breads each morning - cheese coming direct from france.
Good wine selection, mainly heavy and french, on the shelves and a help your self to the bottle style
The setting is great being in the cellar entered via the narrow cast iron stairs - grab a table and munch through your own choosing
We always made a reservation as weekday lunch time it is busy with business people - we've always gone with clients and tend to exit late afternoon. Some fantastic pate choices and great for a blend with a heavy cheese
Always fairly well priced - depending the wine you pick but its all decent and not excessive
Weekdays is mostly people in suits so on that basis it can feel formal but its not. Its a city wine drinking spot not a bar

Bought some wine yesterday. I was charmed by the shop atmosphere and staff. I wasn't completely sure what I wanted, but they guided me towards the perfect result. Absolutely thrilled to come back.

Accuracy in the wine selection, not limited to the "usual" labels (we found some Piedmontese small producers of Nebbiolo of high quality). Welcoming and informal like a real Italian Enoteca. Nice and smart the idea of the buffet, very good selection of French and Emglish cheese. In the kitchen? Donna Italiana, of course.

Great place
Forgotten what a place it is for a quiet drink.
No frills just a great selection of wine.
Recommended the cheese platter if you're peckish.

Great little wine store. Picked up a nice bottle much better and cheaper than the room service swill while staying at a hotel around the corner. Great service. I’ll be back.

(Translated) Particular, not the usual pub. Selection of interesting and international wines, so if one wants to try a Chinese, rather than an American or Australian, he has the chance here. The buffet is also good, with a wide selection of cheeses, from tender to slightly seasoned, to arbolato, there are also cold cuts, but those, perhaps because of my (Emilian) origin, said nothing to me.
