I stumbled across this quite unique and exquisite establishment a few years ago and I always go in and pick up a bottle or two as they do stock some sought after limited edition bottles of whiskey. The shop also stocks some decent craft beers and the wine selection is absolutely fantastic, all sold at competitive prices. The staff are extremely knowledgable and they will go that extra mile to get you what you want. The shop is always clean and tidy hence it is a real gem in the area, especially when independent retailers are hard to find as the big chain stores try to sell everything. I was astonished to see a one star rating and to be honest I couldn’t comprehend the comments after all there was a note on the front to say the shop would be trading different hours. I’ll definitely be popping back in on Wednesday to collect my beers for the World Cup.

Wapping Wines sells a great selection of really good quality wines. H is super friendly and knowledgeable and can recommend something for you if required. I went in to buy a bottle of wine today and also thought I’d ask H if he could source my favourite rum for me, Flor de Cana. I’ve only found it in one other shop in London and to my amazement he already stocks it and it was on the shelf all the time! I couldn’t believe it! Thanks H for a superb shop. How lucky we are in Wapping to have Wapping Wines!

Happy I went into this lovely shop. H, the owner is very nice. I worried I would be embarrassed as I had only been to supermarket wine shelves and thought I may have to walk out empty handed. I worried it was going to be too specialist and expensive but it is not. Their £10 Cape Heights bottle of red is really smooth. There is also an assortment of other bottle around this price. This particular bottle is now a firm favourite of mine. Do go in and ask for recommendations.

Passing through Wapping I happened upon Wapping Wines and thought it was worth a look. Owner H was helpful and passionate about his wines from the get go, friendly but not doing the hard sell. After a few embarrassed brief words from me about a previous holiday to Italy where I had some good wine, he helped me choose a truly delicious Puglian white. This place has all the best aspects of an independent store and I recommend highly.

I'm a local Wapping resident and Wapping Wines is an absolute gem. Substantial range of gorgeous wines, including some quite unusual ones and a good range of Viognier (a personal favourite). Very knowledgable and pleasant owner who will always recommend a good bottle based on taste and wallet size on a given day. Steer clear of the supermarkets, treat yourself, and sample some great wine - highly recommended!

I can't recommend this shop enough. The owner is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and hasn't given me a bad recommendation yet - although I often seem to end up buying more than I mean to! There is a wide range of interesting wine that changes reguarly: a particular recent highlight was a Coteaux Champenois I gave to my dad for father's day, which was both well received and delicious. And, if you get a chance, try the Amarone

A great wine shop close to Wapping Station, the owner is very friendly, great to chat to and has a wide selection of wines (and also stocks beers/spirits). He recommended a great red wine called HB which we very much enjoyed – the longer we allowed the bottle to breathe the more complex the flavours became. Great selection of fine wines and Champagnes and the owner is really helpful and knowledgable too. I bought two bottles of delicious Babylonstoren Chardonnay from South Africa - it was utterly delicious and went down really well at the party I was attending. I'm a real Chardonnay fan and would normally choose White Burgundy from France but the owner of Wapping Wines suggested I choose the Babylonstoren as it represented great value for the quality of the wine, he was not wrong!

London’s best off-licence? Small but mighty – open ‘till late every day, this Aladdin’s Cave will serve your needs. No snobbery, just quality produce from a quality proprietor, who’s passionate and knowledgeable about every drink he sells. If you’re looking for something as a gift or planning stocking up for a celebration, have a chat with them and you’ll be given solid guidance for any budget. Customer service is next level – the manager, ‘H’ even offered to stock my favourite beer, and he did! I didn’t believe he would, but imagine my delight next time I visited, and saw bottles of Budvar racked up in the fridge. Exceptional service I have never encountered in any other off-licence let alone any other shop. Well-worth making the journey, or next time you're passing call in, give Wapping Wines a look, you won't be disappointed!

One of my favourite shops in all of Wapping! This is not just a wine shop, it is a place with a good community feel. While there is a great selection of wines for special occasions or old favourites if you fancy a bottle at the weekend, there are also two lovely people running the whole operation. I have lived here for nearly 2 years and H and Taj were two of the first people to make me feel welcome by chatting, telling me about the area, local events and great places to visit. Being honest, I will often pop in to buy a bottle of diet coke or some snacks rather than go to the supermarket. Simply because these guys really care about their customer service and take time to get to know their customers. On another note, I've noticed that a 'Local Guide' has rated Wapping Wines with 1 star. I have to say, I've had more local guidance from Taj and H than any of the so called Local Guides who write reviews. Furthermore, if this person actually knew Wapping, then they'd appreciate the small businesses are proper old style shops that give Wapping its character and Community and that the people who own/run them are entitled to a lunch break or to bring in their stock! A completely unjustified and ignorant review. I do wonder what one has to do to become a local guide because I've had some dreadful experiences based on their recommendations on Google!

I recently purchased a bottle Chateauneuf du pape which I enjoyed extremely, fitted perfectly to my preference which was analysed by the owner to give me the recommendation. I have been visiting wapping wines for a number of years, as they always provide great service and a great selection of wines/beers you wouldn't find at a supermarket. I just got back from the Babylonstoren Wine Estate in South Africa (superb!), and found a full selection in my local shop!

Anything you want but is not in stock he can source for you in a few days. When I first went in I member thinking bit pricy, and wasn't too sure but I can honestly say I am glad I stuck it out. I find beers and wines here that is struggle to find anywhere. And that is just the start H and Taj have a strong understanding of their customers; learning who they are and what they like and have a true passion, not just for their products, but to deliver time and again even if they don't stock what your after they'll get you a price and order it in especially for you, it truly is a fantastic service that makes you feel like your a wanted and welcome friend and that is why I keep going back. Ps ask for the red that goes with turkey it's a Christmas delight and if your brother doesn't spill the bottle you'll be fighting over the last glass!

Lived around the corner for 20 odd years. H and Taj are fixtures of the local community and always incredibly helpful and enthusiastic about their products. When there's something that I've wanted them to stock it's as good as done. I've just seen the 1 Star review posted, and at a complete loss as to why this person has taken issue. Axe to grind? Ignore it people. This individual should think twice about posting reviews like this; not helpful AND more importantly, he/she should avail themselves to some basic English grammar before trying to make a point!!!
