R. L.24 hour service. Got locked out at 7pm. Called Caledonian locksmith and he arrived 10 mins later. Only took him a few seconds to open my door undamaged. Charge was 70 quid which some might say is too expensive but if I had to kick in my door, it would have cost hundreds to get a joiner to replace and secure any damaged to the woodwork and the door plus any damage to the locks.

K. B.Caledonian is a family business, which is my first reason for liking them. I've always had courteous service and a quick turn around from Hugh, Gillian and their lads; and so I've made a practice of cutting my keys there. Whether you need a key for an insurance rated lock or (and this one surprised me) to duplicate a skeleton key for an antique desk, they always manage it.
Then came THE DISASTER: we were locked out of our flat with no obvious way in beyond destroying an expensive lock. Hugh saved the day by working out a simple way to pick the lock, thereby saving us no end of expense and aggro. In fact Hugh may well have missed his calling: he would make a grand burglar!
Caledonian Lock and Safe is conveniently located on Pollockshaws Road which, truth to tell, was how I found them: conveniently, I could cut my keys while shopping, banking or even having a pint in a pub in the beating heart of Shawlands.
A full service locksmith, and as good as they get. Five 1/2 stars.
