Last year, just before Christmas I took a risk and left my job and decided to go ahead self employed in dance fitness and massage. I had no experience in massage therapy but I felt it would suit my working lifestyle and I've always had an interest in the body. I came across Dave's training on Facebook (for once the algorithm got it right!) What attracted me to this course was the practical element - I have never been good at learning things in theory, I'm all about the muscle memory. Dave is incredibly welcoming and has such a wonderful energy about him I was immediately put at ease whilst my inner saboteur was reminding me that I had just done a crazy employment move! He is very clear in his instructions and patient to those that need a little more guidance. I also want to thank Heather for not just being an awesome trainer but being a kind and wonderful person as I had a slight complication during the course that both Dave and Heather were very understanding of. I crumble at the idea of a test, who doesn't? The last day is amazing for those of you that feel like me when you think about a final assessment. There is no pressure throughout the whole course so having that comfort helps towards a better learning experience. I would highly recommend taking training with Dave if you are interested in massage therapy. I am taking the time to build my fitness and massage business, but I will definitely be back to take the diploma course.

I'm an existing massage therapist and was attracted to Raynor massage as it took the whole body into account when working out tension like the head, feet & hands (reflexology) & the stomach (an area often overlooked on other courses). I also wanted to learn some basic chiropractic adjustments. If you're looking to learn a new lifelong skill in a safe, professional yet tranquil environment, I highly recommend Dave's 8-day training retreat in Devon.. I graduated Dave's course in Nov 2019 (attached my snapshot of the location!), I'm a yoga teacher; 'Bodywork' has always been my passion- touch is a powerful yet underrated sense. Hence, I came across Deep tissue Raynor massage. 8 days may sound long or short but the course program was well thought-out and it invloved a good amount of hands-on practices (giving and receiving!) I have always wanted to learn how to massage and an opportunity arose for me to be able to so recently. I spent an evening searching online for a short course that would give me excellent qualifications. I came across Dave Taylor’s web page and I was very impressed by the two courses offered, the prices, professionalism and most importantly what previous students had to say about the courses. I chose to do the combined Certificate and Diploma courses lasting two weeks. The courses were held in Putney in a boat house on the river bank. It was a lovely location, easy to find and we had free time at lunch-break to eat with the other students. I met some really lovely people on both courses. I was quite nervous about learning a new skill in my fifties, but the courses were great and Lori and Dave had endless patience with us all. We learned very quickly and the Diploma course covered a little reflexology, aromatherapy and very importantly some business skills. If you are thinking of learning massage, I can’t recommend these courses highly enough. If you think you couldn’t possibly do it - you can - if I can, anyone can.

If you have the time - go for it, if you don’t have the time - make time for it. There is no heavy studying or tonnes of reading, the course was fun and informative with plenty of hands-on practice. Natsley Farm retreat is a stunning place in which to learn a new skill. I have been 'doing massage' on and off for a number of years and was encouraged to go for formal training. I was attracted to Dave's course because of its practical focus. I was also keen to know about the Raynor technique because of its direct approach to relieving tension in the body. I signed up for both the Certificate and Diploma Courses as well as the Level 3 extension and was really excited at the thought that Dave could train me to a professional standard which meant I could begin to practice as a Massage Therapist. By the end of the course I was able to give an effective full body massage and work along the bands of tension in the body. I attended the residential Certificate and Diploma course in Devon recently and was amazed at how quickly we all learned! I put this success largely at Dave’s feet. The material contained in course books is interesting and includes suggestions for further reading/research, but Dave really brought it to life with his passion and enthusiasm. Dave shared his personal knowledge, ideas, and tips from years of practice which to me made it worth every penny. I felt inspired, energised and positive. I hadn’t given the business side of things much thought before the course. In this area again, Dave’s experience and advice on how to make therapy into a successful business was incredibly helpful. Dave is a legend. Through his own story, journey and years of experience he has managed to create a truly fantastic course which gave me all the knowledge, skills, training and most importantly the confidence to set up as a full time massage therapist. I was a caregiver for people in their homes and had been looking at doing massage for a while as I know that touch is very healing and therapeutic. As a yoga teacher, the purely western approach to massage did not appeal to me. I wanted a holistic approach and a therapy that actually did something for my clients, not just a relaxing 'beauty' therapy. I was recommended this course by another yoga teacher and I had two treatments before I signed up. An enjoyable experience from beginning to end. The training was first class. We were hands-on-bodies from day one. Feeling comfortable massaging every size and shape of body was an anxiety I overcame comfortably by the end of the course. Hi My name is Michelle, I have been an It Support engineer for the past 14 years, commuting into central London waking up a 5am, feeling exhausted when I get home, and no real job satisfaction, apart from the part where I get to fix peoples computer issues which helps them to then get on with their very stressful jobs. I booked this course for April but due to Covid 19 it was rescheduled, since then my plan was to get the training from this course and do it as a second job , to make some extra money, but I was laid off work 4 weeks ago, so now my reason for doing the course had changed to now making this my new career. I had already trained in both VTCT level 3 massage then I also trained in an ITC level 3 massage in 2010 as part of a foundation degree in Complementary health therapies . on this foundation degree I really felt that I concentrated more on the academic side than the practical . I learnt so much, it's amazing to think we were only there for 5 days - and I returned eager to start practicing. Having worked in the fitness industry as a gym instructor 20 years ago, I always wished I had learnt this skill at the time, for both another professional qualification to fall back on if necessary but also in order to treat my wife who is a professional equestrian. I spent a couple of years looking at various sports massage courses but they always seemed to be dragged out over months & months, & mostly required you to be qualified in anatomy & physiology, which I had a reasonably good understanding of already but didn’t really want to have to fit in as well. I was initially a bit sceptical about how it was possible obtain a combined certificate & diploma in Raynor massage in just 8 days (for the residential course, 10 days at the London training centre), but it soon became apparent on commencing the course that what Dave does is give you all the tools you need to safely & effectively become a good massage therapist & then it’s up to you to go out there & develop your craft. It now makes absolute sense to me that to find & release tension in the body you need to get used to instinctively feeling for it, & once you can do that you feel empowered to help everybody & anybody, whether you know the Latin name for every bone & muscle or not. Not being a particularly spiritual or new age type of person I was a little worried I might be the odd one out on the retreat but there were 2 other students from a fitness background like me, & everyone else on the course although with varying interests were such nice people & you’re all in it together. I feel like I’ve made some new friends for life. I am so glad I did this course instead of one that drags out unnecessarily & teaches you a load of medical knowledge that frankly you don’t need & will never use. Dave has a really nice way of teaching that gradually builds your confidence, & when it all comes together at the end of the course you feel like you’ve done weeks of training rather than days. What impressed me most is that he genuinely seems to care about his students & wants them to succeed, rather than just going through the motions. I would highly recommend the residential retreat as you can escape from the frantic nature of modern life for a while, focus on learning a new skill, feel part of a team & it’s way more than just a training course. Lucy & Oliver who look after everybody on the retreat are absolute diamonds & couldn’t have been any lovelier. Genuinely uplifting.

What a life-changing week!!! The certificate course assured me that it is possible to learn how to deliver a safe and effective deep tissue massage in five days in the right learning environment. Dave has mastered the art of teaching massage as well as giving it!! Layering the key teachings of Raynor massage, with examples from his own experience, videos, demonstrations, humour, questions, and plenty of hands-on, both giving and receiving massage. Also holding a great learning space with his patience, ever-present smiling friendliness, humour, and passion for massage and all things related. The amount of information received in the five days was perfect for me. I don't feel I was taught anything unnecessary. With awareness freed from over-thinking I could really connect and respond to what was sensed in the recipient’s body. Dave provided great insight into the life of a massage therapist. Things such as business and advertising strategy, and client-communication, were not overlooked, receiving the attention deserved. The afternoons spent giving and receiving massage, with Dave available for advice and feedback, were very empowering and made me aware that PRACTICE was key to improvement. Dave directed our attention to our fingers/hands as we practiced, learning how to "see with our hands". Dave absolutely embodies his teachings, whether this is about how to empathise with a client, trusting intuition during a massage, applying good business strategy ect. To be taken on a journey greater than you expected, to learn much more than you ever imagined and to gain the confidence in massage that you set out to achieve... All in a week!!! Would recommend to anyone. 25:12:2016 - A few weeks later and realising more and more just how much I gained from my training. I gave my most awesome massage to date yesterday. Specific feedback I received from the client during the treatment triggered EVEN MORE recollection of the techniques I'd been taught and I had the confidence to expand on this and deliver a massage that was clearly effective and in tune with what the client needed. I was taught on the course that there is no set routine for a Raynor Massage, just to ensure that I incorporate the particular techniques, stretches and adjustments that have been developed. Yesterday I used all of this... And my intuition. I found the tension and I got rid of it, using all that I had learnt on my course and my own intelligence gained from feeling the body. It's the most fulfilling experience. To see a client in a superior state of relaxation and relieved of pain that had been so intense... And I can say 'YES! I did that!' Christmas Day and I'm watching the Dave Taylor Massage DVD I was given on completion of the course... AGAIN!!! I am a recently retired physician. I wanted to take up some therapeutic but non-medical activity to keep me active, have regular contact with people which they would value and, of course, to supplement my pension. I was taken by the intensive nature of the course and the fact that, even at certificate level, it was possible to receive training within 5 days that would enable me to get professional indemnity insurance. That was a significant factor in my decision to go with this course. In addition, the theory and practice made sense to me from an anatomical, physiological and psychological perspective, in which I have professional knowledge, qualification and experience over several decades. I have an open mind about some of the explanations offered regarding the eastern healing practices. These are often poo-poo'd by the medical profession as being unsupported by scientific evidence. That doesn't really matter to me, so long as the system works, and my brief experience so far has convinced me that it does. The course was a delight. The trainers, Dave and Lori were great and my fellow students were wonderful to be around and very supportive of one another. A lovely learning environment and a well constructed and effective course. I can certainly recommend it.
