Carolyn is incredible at what she does. She's got a natural touch, with the experience and skill to create a holistically healing experience. As others have mentioned, her space is clean, warm and inviting. It's obvious that she puts a lot of effort into creating a relaxing atmosphere and it works beautifully to enhance the experience. She is very thorough and takes a lot of care to make the experience as enjoyable and helpful as possible, paying careful attention to problem spots and respecting any special requests. It only took a session to convince me to sign up to her monthly membership. Please don't hesitate to go see her if you're looking for an experienced, welcoming massage therapist.

Absolutely brilliant. Carolyn listened to where my pain was and my story and then managed to somehow follow the pain and find all the points that have been giving me issues. It was absolutely amazing. Really deep and intense, I was able to feel my muscles move and relax as she manipulated and applied pressure. She is also strong and able to sustain a hard pressure which I have found some therapists find hard to sustain. She also ended with a very relaxing head massage which was incredible. Carolyn gives the best massage I've had in London, amazing pressure and a naturally healing touch. She works out of her home but it is a completely safe environment and location, I felt so comfortable with her and her Covid precautions especially. You leave shoes outside the door, clean your feet, put belongings in a designated box, and wear your mask which you can adjust during the session. Carolyn wore full protective gear and I felt safe getting a massage. I recommend the 90 minute if you really need a FULL BODY massage with a lot of work done. She worked out a huge knot in my shoulder and I will be booking my second appointment asap!

Carolyn is an incredible masseuse - I have felt so nurtured and cared for in all of my prenatal massage appointments, she still gives a really firm massage (unlike lots of others who seem to think pregnant women can only be stroked!) and I come away feeling a million times better. From the initial booking phase Carolyn was clearly on top of the situation, following protocal and ensuring that you are fully aware of the hygiene practises in place to ensure a safe environment for everyone. On top of the review below, I’d add that Carolyn has really made visiting her for a massage a covid19 safe experience - really clear guidance on what clients need to do, what Carolyn will do and all in all, in spite of the nature of the work (massage - close proximity!) it feels really safe. I would highly recommend Carolyn, following two sessions with her either side of the Hackney Half marathon. My first session was fantastic in helping me prepare for the race and my follow-up session was just what I needed to soothe some aches and pains! Carolyn has a lovely flat in a quiet street in Hackney, and as soon as you arrive you are made to feel welcome and relaxed. Carolyn herself as a very calm and open demeanour and I am hoping to arrange for her to come to my workplace to provide some of my colleagues with some much needed relaxation through head, neck and shoulder massage. The sessions are great value for money and I’ll be returning.

I went to Carolyn on a friends suggestion even though I'd started seeing another masseuse. I have a lot of metal work in my spine from scoliosis and my dear masseuse friend of 7 years who I would visit every week for pain respite moved away leaving me in limbo. I briefly spoke to Carolyn and she ensured me that she would follow my lead. I was adamant that she not touch my lower back as I am still recovering from two spine operations. My shoulder and neck were giving me excruciating pain and Carolyn managed to get some of the big muscular knots out allowing me to lift my arm above my head for the first time in months without pain. She also applied very deep tissue pressure which is exactly what I wanted and asked for-believe me it hurt like hell but the results are amazing. She will go lighter if that is what you want, but I am so used to pain and a lot of pummelling. On arrival, she welcomed me with a herbal tea and made me feel very safe and comfortable. I booked my second session before i left. She will be my new go to. For me a massage isn't a luxury, it is a necessity, however, I do enjoy a good lie down and I actually dozed off whilst she was pummelling my knots.

The massage took place in her flat, which is actually really nice and is full of comforts that make the experience pretty good. We got 1.30 h Swedish massage and it felt so good. I left Carolyn's feeling relaxed and 'put back together'. She is able to find all the spots that need work, uses the right amount of pressure but never veers into painful territory. She's really very good and a far cry from those terrible therapists that simply 'do a message' ie follow the text book, without reading the body. Her place is great and she is wonderful too. I received a fantastic deep tissue massage from Carolyn, which resolved a lot of back pain that had crept up post pregnancy, especially with carrying the baby in a sling for a prolonged period of time. Carolyn has created a lovely, warm and calming environment which is complemented by her warm and caring nature. She immediately put me at ease with her lovely and down to earth personality. Moreover, she is very talented at what she does, as she identified so many of my problem areas without my having to point them out. She clearly loves what she does. I liked the fact that she concentrated on the most problematic areas and has very strong hands to deal with them, however she always checked to make sure that I could handle it. The hot stones were very soothing and helped relax the tense areas, she knew exactly where to place them. I have recommended her to many of my friends and would go to her on a weekly basis if I could.
