After being recommended to Ray and his team from folks on the Ducati forum I can honestly say the time and work they have spent on the rebuild of my engine is brilliant. The brief was to set the engine up to be ‘push button ready’ once hung in the frame and plugged/plumed in and that is exactly what I got. The excitement of firing the engine up for the first time in years was amazing and huge milestone on the project to rebuild my Ducati 996. Im now going to go back to Ray Petty and Meccancica to finish off the final bits of the project and get the bike prepped for the next milestone - passing the MOT! I can’t recommended Ray and his team enough, they’re knowledgeable, highly skilled and friendly. I would definitely use them for any future work on my Ducati’s. Can't recommend Ray Petty Meccanica enough, absolute stars! The display on my 2017 Supersport showed a number of errors(engine management, general warning, ABS etc) after a fan fault, and my attempts to troubleshoot. Had been faulty for a few weeks and my local main Ducati dealer couldn't help. Called Ray and went over, they diagnosed and resolved the issue within 10 minutes, all over a cup of tea. Reset my display, cleared the fault log and proved that the original fan issue was resolved. Can't recommend them enough, brilliant service by guys that seriously know what they are doing. Friendly, welcoming, and their tea is awesome too! Update: Went back to Ray for an annual service. Afterwards it was like having a different bike. George did a top job, spent time explaining everything he had done. The attention to detail was a breath of fresh air, even down to putting nylon washers under fairing bolt heads to protect the plastic, and replacing Allen screws that were worn to avoid future rounding out. There's a lot of love and passion for what they do, they treat your bike like it was their own. Long way to go, but worth it.

Been taking my bikes to Ray for years, he and the guys that work with him (Hi George) are excellent mechanics. If you're thinking about taking your bike in to these guys there's a few things to know, they won't talk down to you, they don't upsell, they charge fair prices, they'll likely take a picture or two of the busted bits so you can see why something needed doing, they know their trade at a deep level, they will deal with you more like a friend than a customer.

Ray & George are legends! I can't fault them! Had multiple issues with my 2003 MV Agusta F4. Battery overheating and burning out, stuttering up to 4k revs, lack of power and generally unwell. I was slightly concerned dropping off the bike having never used them but they were stars! They kept me updated on the progress and when I collected they took me through the issues gave me the option of seeing the old parts etc. and walked me through the pricing. The bike was a pleasure to ride home and they even "checked in" to ensure that I was happy. I cannot recommend them enough - best company I have touched on in 30 years of riding! Ray looks after my MHR and 1980 900SS as though they are his own. Just got the SS back from a full overhaul - respray, rewire service clutch and new carbs. It came back as new - with all sorts of other items that "just didn't look right for the year" sorted as part of the service. A proper bike shop-friendly advice on anything Duke, chats and coffee and simply genius at setting up the engine. Wouldn't trust anyone else with them.

I reached out to Ray Petty Meccanica about a bike I purchased which was built at their workshop. They were prompt, accomodating and considerate of my budget. George in particular was extremely friendly and put me at ease about the issue with my bike. Max even offered to transport the bike back to my place since I could not collect it myself and this was an above and beyond offer from the team! The most knowledgeable and enthusiastic Ducati mechanics you'll find in the south-east, possibly the UK. I just haven't tried further afield. Reasonable rates and very friendly too. I like to see the person working on my bike, which you get here....unlike the main dealers where they are usually shut away. In the old days, across europe, you would find top rate mechanics who would help you out when you were stuck, for the love of the machine and the desire to help a fellow enthusiast. This is one of those places, a class above the money orientated big dealers with shareholders to satisfy first.

Ever since my first visit, I would not go to any other mechanic, I would even travel far and wide to have my bike serviced here. This mechanic is unlike any other, in terms of servicing and staff, I could not highly recommend them enough. Ray and team look after your bike as it was their own. When I first met Ray he helped me with finding my very first motorbike. He spent time with me talking about what bike would be best for me and put me in contact with his friend Paul at Ducati Leeds. I visited Paul and he let me test drive an immaculate second hand Monster 821 without even asking for my driving licence as knowing Ray was enough. I eventually bought the bike and ridden it through France, Italy and UK for two years. I had lost track of Ray after he opened RPM and had had my bike serviced by other great professionals in Italy and UK for a couple of years when I bumped into Ray at the bike shed show. He told me about his new workshop and invited me to visit. Out of curiosity, months later I stopped by RPM while on the way home from Greenwich. It wasn’t only the tidiness of the workshop and the great bikes parked outside that convinced me. Ray and team welcomed me and made me feel at home. Without thinking, I booked a service with Max and dropped off the bike the day after. Max called me after a quick check and we agreed on what needed to be done. Few days later I picked up the bike and it felt like a new bike. They also cleaned it, changed the plate at no extra cost and gave me a nice key ring. It is not just the quality of the service, the attention to detail and friendliness that set them apart. Hands down the best motorcycle mechanics in London. I've got a Aprilia RSVR Factory, I've not used for 2 years. I've used many different places, from west to east London over the last 13 years. It was always so transactional, barebones services. I've always wanted to find a place, that cares for your bike, the way you do. These guys just it. Hi, I would first like to start with a big thank you to Ray and the team, their service deserves a 6 star not just a 5*. Never had a better experience than this ducati specialist garage. My ducati 848 evo broke down at the Blackwall tunnel as my voltage regulator burnt out. They see me staight away, to get me back on the road as quick as possible. Replacing the regulator and sorting out the burnt wires. Watching the guys work, I noticed the attention to detail they put into their work was unbelievable. I've never seen a garage clean, lubricate, oil and 360 check every bit of the bike they touched from screws to fairing. This is somthing I would expect on a major service. They also asked me to come back the next day to check their work. I would highly recommend Ray and the team to anyone who cares about their ducati to have a proper job done on it. Thanks again. Zeki

Best mechanics in London! I've been very impressed by RPM, having found them only recently. Already they've done a few jobs on my bikes, and now my girlfriends bike too, and having seen them at work I would strongly recommend them to anyone. They're expert, don't muck about, turn jobs around swiftly and professionally, and take great care of your machine. Prices are fair, especially considering the time and care that goes in, and they don't quote one thing and try to charge another later. I genuinely don't think there's a better shop in London, especially for Ducati or Italian makes or for serious custom work. Get down there and let them work on your machine

It’s been a long journey for me with Ray, Max and George at RPM. I stumbled upon them by chance the day after taking my CBT back in October ‘17. They painted the picture of transforming a humble CG125 into a retro style street tracker. The thought of creating something to my specification seemed too good an opportunity to pass up. Over the months in between, I’ve visited RPM many times, often with my 6 year old son who is bike mad and the team have always made us feel incredibly welcome. I think our son has tried many of the bikes in there and heard most of them fire up! Having now taken delivery of my bike, it’s clear to see that the team have worked really hard to create the bike I had pictured plus the little touches I would never have thought of. It’s fantastic to have a one-off bike and many people out and about have commented on it. I look forward to a long relationship with RPM. Do not assume that RPM is exclusive to Ducati. I have a Triumph Bonneville and they have always been able to help me out. Great service, the environment is incredibly friendly and I have to say that Ray, Max and George are outstanding artists; if you have any doubt, just head over to RPM and take a look at their creations - each time I visit, I remain speechless by the beauty and originality of their solutions in terms of customisation. The website is awesome if a little slow to load but that's because the high quality photographs are needed to do justice to the work Ray & Maxi do. Have a look at the two customs, the red and white and the UYC Copper bike. They are really works of art. I thought my bike was ok except for a few known defects but Ray's diligent examination of the bike all over picked up all sorts of incorrect and missing bolts, poor makeshift connectors, etc, all evidence that a home owner had worked on the bike that only a Ducati specialist will pick up. I had a new clutch, brakes, brake fluid, service and belts done and I have just taken it back to Ray for the 200-mile checks and adjustments. Now the bike is setup exactly as it should be, rides perfectly and all the adjustments are in place ready for a trip to the Herz mountains in Germany and back. Many thanks Ray & Maxi

I brought Ray and his team my Ducati GT1000 which needed some fixing and modding done to and they have completely transformed her!! She was completely taken apart, cleaned, fixed and with the help of his incredibly skilled fabricator Max and apprentice George has been tastefully modded and redesigned. BEYOND EXCEPTIONAL I had a front brake issue, Ray knew exactly what it was over the phone. Popped down at 6:30pm for Max to investigate, they were able to replace the master cylinder straight way, fit new pads and change the brake fluid, also order a replacement front tyre for the next day. If you have a Ducati save your time, energy and money, go straight to Ray & Max. Service and an experience like this is something places like Metropolis could learn from.

I know Ray, Max and George are Italian bike specialists but their knowledge and years of experience obviously translate to any and all makes of motorbike and every time my bike passes through their workshop in emerges running smoother than ever. But if you do own a Ducati, or indeed any Italian motorcycle, I can't imagine there being anywhere better to have your bike looked after. Their total restorations and award winning customs are jaw dropping. Their attitude and commitment to the marque makes one want to own a Ducati if you don't already. Arrived in awe.. place should really be named Petty Baba's cave of 2-cylinder wonders (4s welcome too).
