I recently moved a two bed apartment across town and used Anthony Ward Thomas; the advice before moving was really helpful and I appreciated their knowledge and recommendations for the correct van/package. On moving day, the two movers did absolutely everything themselves and I was able to continue packing while they took things down to the truck etc. I was amazed at how much they got in the truck and how quickly they did it. At the new place they scouted out the rooms and and basically put everything in the right locations without needing to be told. There were consistently friendly, joking and laughing all day. I was so impressed with the service and they made what I expected to be a really stressful day so easy and care-free.

The two movers worked quickly and efficiently to get everything packed and onto the van. I thoroughly recommend Ward Thomas to anyone. Their survey was really thorough which meant the problems with accessing both the difficult pack-up and delivery locations were dealt with before the moving day. The crew was friendly and helpful, with a can-do attitude. Nothing was going to beat them. Everything arrived at the new house in perfect condition. Booked through Anthony Ward Thomas but the van sent was Aussie Man & Van. Either way the service was amazing! The 2 movers arrived on time (early even!), were super patient and SO speedy (packed everything into the van, drove and unpacked in the new place in under 2 hours). We did a very big move before Christmas last year, downsizing to a smaller house in London and moving the other half of our furniture down to the country. Charlie from WT was extremely calm and efficient in the planning process and the packing/removals team worked unbelievably hard over the six days it took to move us. After the move, they returned twice to collect empty boxes and packaging. Overall Ward Thomas made moving house a far-less stressful experience than I had been expecting and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We would highly recommend Ward Thomas. We had a very last minute office move and everything ran smoothly due to the professionalism of the booking team and the moving team. Ward Thomas have been moving me for years and once again this weekend they have performed superbly. Arrived promptly at 8 am and worked hard throughout the day - even manged not to look too down-hearted when a sofa had been carried up ten floors and wouldn't go through a door! They seemed more disappointed than I was but I didn't have to carry it back down those stairs! The service was excellent from the original visit by Jonathan Enderby to quote right up to saying goodbye to the guys at the end of the day - Josh and Angus (two Kiwis) were especially hard working and client focused.

I had a great experience with ATW. The price was reasonable (£160 for 2 hours to move my belongings - though minimal furniture) and they were very accommodating. I was having issues with the letting agency and getting my keys in the morning, but the movers patiently waited almost 45 mins for me to take care of that. When I found out that I needed to go to the letting agent's office to pick up the keys, they kindly took the roundabout way so they could drive by and let me jump out to pick them up. The movers were professional and kind and as a single woman moving alone, I felt very safe. Would recommend, 10/10! Thank you!

They were total professionals, friendly and even the building management team complimented the speed and handling of the removals which also included some tight corners and hoisting the largest piece up to the balcony from outside. These chaps rule - it was like a whirlwind of packing efficiency, a tornado of van-loading, and a sirocco of unloading. Friendly, professional, efficient - Chris and Joe were fantastic. It was my first time using them, (or indeed any professional removal company for that matter) on a friend's recommendation, and I do not even consider calling upon someone else for my next move. I am also recommending them to everyone I know. My only regret is not to have found out about them sooner. Looking back on all the effort and time I've wasted doing an amateurish job of my packing and my moves, when professionals are so efficient, and - key point - much more affordable than one might think!

I've used AWT before, and it was a fab service. 8 years on, two kids and a lot more stuff and it was still incredible. The team moved us from a top 4th floor flat to a house. They were diligent at listening to the removal requests of where things should move, incredibly hardworking getting all the items from the top to the bottom floor, careful, considerate and stress free. The move back into the house was quick, unpacked, clean and tidy in no time at all. It could have been a lot more stressful but it was a breeze with these guys. Great service, right from the estimating and booking process all the way through. On the day the team phoned ahead to let me know their arrival time. The contents of the whole house disappeared into the van - they checked anything they were unsure of - and then reappeared at the other end. The crew were friendly and accommodating, and were able to pack art work and a grandfather clock with no problems. I also used the unpacking service too, so 2 days into my new house everything is out (not necessarily away!) and the boxes and packing is all gone. Really took the stress out of moving day. I've used Ward-Thomas a number of times. They are never anything other than super efficient, super courteous and generally make moving house as stress free as it can be. Excellent from start to finish for our move from a 3 bedroom flat in West London to Tunbridge Wells. Extremely quick in getting back to me to arrange an estimate for the removal, but more importantly very flexible with all the date and time changes since the first quote. The group of removers on the day could not have been nicer. Very friendly (despite my kids buzzing about the place), and very efficient. Delivery was equally good. I had a different team both ends (since my move involved 1 week of storage) and I was very impressed with both. The only bad thing is that you are made to feel very useless as you hover around not lifting a finger!!

It required six people working solidly for three days in extreme heat and the delivery was difficult as the staircase was narrow and the furniture large. I have moved for the third time, but the first with AWT and there is no way to compare their service! It is amazing! The guys (4) came to my house on time and were very friendly all time! I was moving from a large house to a small one, with narrow stairs and corridors. Not a single mark on the walls, no stress at all! All the furniture putted on the right place, beds, sofas, rugs...very organised. They are amazing!

Negatives: I struggled to get clear information from on the phone and they couldn’t get my name right on the quotation, they were not helpful at all with helping understanding the quotation since it came in to different emails with 4 attachements each and none would be stating clearly what was the final price. Instead they kept insisting on the phone that I had to authorise the payment otherwise I’d lose my slot. And gave me a 30 minutes ultimatum! They then got the address wrong and therefore we’re more than 40 minutes late for my redelivery (similar name of street, completely different postcode, even though they had both post code and address) The crew forgot to unpack one of theirs boxes. Extremely expensive. Positives The crew is super professional, very efficient, nice and polite, did a excellent job, except for this small box they forgot to unpack. Very practical service of removal, storage, redelivery Given the price you’d expect nice people to talk to you on the phone, some more flexibility, and more clarity and assistance.

This is not just your average removal company they took control of our move, took delivery of a new US range cooker and fridge for us which had to be hoisted up to the third floor, organised the parking suspension the hoist and the removal of the old appliances. Moving house is a reliably horrific experience, and so anything that helps make the process smoother is instantly memorable... hence my 5-star review of Ward Thomas, who have provided us with a fantastic service three times in the past two years (the last two moves being within a month of each other, and rather complicated in nature). Good service begins with communication, and here they have it nailed - before, after and on the day. Everyone we interacted with - from the office workers, movers, "box man" etc - was both professional and personable. Communication throughout our moving day was smooth and clear; the crew followed all my (many) instructions to the letter - and with a smile - and handled all our belongings with care. From delicate family antiques to gilt mirrors to cheap IKEA furniture (which had to be dismantled and re-assembled), everything survived intact and in perfect condition, and everything was done in exactly the manner that one would expect from a top-quality operation. I was particularly impressed that, when packing my kitchen Peter called me in to show me two pieces of cracked china (thinking he might have done it); he hadn't of course (cracked long ago) but the fact that he did really shows the quality of the overall operation. I hope we don’t have to move again any time soon, but if we do there's only one choice for us when it comes to which removal company to use.

My company uses a relocation agency and the quotes I was provided with were astronomical. Efficient service and impressed with HQ Dealings. A couple of gripes. On unpacking dry food, discovered lids/boxes had come undone in packing lots of stuff together without any wrapping. Flour/cocoa all over everything. Some boxes were really heavily packed and split. Trying to move them to a different room to unpack was v difficult. V pleasant and fast working group of removal guys though.
