Had a lovely (but really long) day on the train, with a stop in Cardiff for lunch.
Staff are all really friendly, and prices for tea & coffee on the train are very reasonable.
We took my dad for his birthday, and he enjoyed it very much.

I went with husband today on the Shakespeare Express. We had a wonderful time our ticket included a full breakfast on the outward journey and afternoon tea on the return journey. The food was lovely . The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this for a wonderful day out. Cant wait to go again.

We travelled on the White Rose day excursion to York. Everything was well organised on arrival at Tysely for an 8:30 departure and the staff were amazing from beginning to end. However shortly before arriving at Totton our train broke down due to a problem with a water pipe supplying the engine...essential on a steam train. We were stationary for an hour while the onboard engineer effected repairs. We arrived in York at 2pm instead of 1pm and our time visiting the Christmas market was therefore less than expected. We enjoyed our pre-booked bacon butties, despite the absence of butter! However on our return journey there were no plans for any hot food to be available for purchase in tourist class and the heating wasn’t working in several carriages including ours. We were told it was a further problem created by the water pipe issue in the morning. We were lucky that the outside temperature was warmer than usual for mid-December. What would they have done if it was literally freezing? We were glad to return to the warmth of our car for the journey home at approximately 11pm. Vintage Trains, your onboard staff were brilliant but you do need to up your game in the maintenance department.

In the Summer I took my family, husband myself, and one of our children who is in a wheelchair, the staff were AMAZING to us, they were so considerate, helpful. Really cant say a big enough thankyou to all of them, it made a beautiful day out even better. Looking forward to the Valentines dinning .....minus the kids x

We went for a ride out to Llandudno on Clun Castle. The whole thing was efficiency run and well organised. Ive been on many heritage railways before but being able to ride on a steam train on the main railway lines was something else. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!!!

Great food, wonderful staff but somehow the timings went wrong and meant part of the experience was rushed.

If you wish to experience an age old feel, smell and a thud in ya chest as and when vintage trains open up after lock down side up ASAP my recommendation is the Stratford Run or the west country one bang on peep

A most enjoyable journey.

If you into Steam Trains good for seeing them close up, no gift shop, more a working restoration centre, limited facilities not open all the time.

Look out for this company's rail tours. They are the best.
Shakespeare Express is highly recommended with high speed running on the main line

Lovely day out.

Great steam trip to Chester.

Ideal place to get close to a steam loco other than a railway station. Just have to add this there's a lot of junk around the turntable that does spoil it for photos
