Reviews of Brighton Toy and Model Museum

Absolute treasure trove of toys and models from over the years. If you like model trains then it is a must visit. Very child friendly and interactive - staff are great and little spot the Lego man quiz for kids to do around the museum. We spent just over an hour at the museum, but you could spend longer.

My son and I loved this toy museum! We've been wanting to go for quite some time and we were amazed at the amount of items on display. Some incredible old and rare model trains and toys. We enjoyed getting the trains going by pushing the various buttons. The lady who runs the place was so full of enthusiasm and she made it that much .ore enjoyable. Highly recommended!

This is like stepping back in time on a toy journey. My little boy loves running around this place and so did we adults. A vast selection of vintage Lego, trains, dolls, Disney characters etc. Quite small but so much in it. A little treasure under the arches of the train station. The gentleman behind the counter was so helpful and impressed my little boy with his Ninjago knowledge. They had a Lego hunt on whilst we were there which went down a storm. This place doesn't take you long to go round but definitely worth a visit on your way into/from town to the train station.

Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff, for a small museum it it packed full of collection. I enjoyed the 10p machines that allowed us to see how the puppet show worked, a toy house rotating, a magic trick. The model train worked by pressing a button, it ran from one room to another. Lots of great quality toys that I remember playing with as a child. There was an entrance fee which was about£6 per person but it's well worth it. There is a trail for children, once completed they receive a certificate. There is a small gift shop. I bought a pen and a fridge magnet. Highly recommend a visit.

An amusing museum on toys and models. It was a very nice surprise as at first it wasn't in my Brighton list. But I couldn't be more wrong. The model trains and the coin machine were the best, but we also enjoyed the puppet shows, cars and the rest of the toys. It was an amazing experience. It is really recommended both for adults and children!

We turned up quite late in the day, before our train journey home. It is located in the tunnel under the main station entrance. It was half 4 and the museum closed at 5. The lady inside was very friendly and said we could still look round with a reduced entry fee, which was nice of her. The museum is packed full of toys to look at. Some impressive railway track scene set ups. And you can press buttons to set the trains going 🙂 Loved seeing the old toys, especially the lego collection. Well worth a visit.

Our time at Brighton Toy museum was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the Lego man trail around the museum. The train set with funicular railway was a great sight. All the staff were amazing. The only critique is that it isn't big enough! We all enjoyed looking round and I reccomend it on any day out to Brighton.

This is a lovely place to visit - it is not big but full of toys and models. Some of them are dated back to over 100 years ago. It's so interesting to see and imagine what those people played with.
The location of it is a bit tricky - it is at the bottom of the railway station, so you need to find the right way access to it.
This museum is run by charity but also doing a charity to wildlife protection (if I remember correctly). So, it is not an usual business, and I think it needs more support.
The ticket seller, Mike (if I heard correctly), is a very nice guy, and I am sure he'd love to share his experience about playing canon toys when he was little.

Although the place itself is small, me and my partner spent at least an hour exploring the exhibits. There's plenty to see and the place was very clean and Covid safe. I would highly recommend and will be going again myself.
