Reviews of The Grange

Fantastic art gallery and museum in a lovely Georgian house busting with history. Former home of the artist William Nicholson (and his famous son Ben Nicholson). The house and gardens were extended but Lutyens and the gardens designed by Gertrude Jekyll. In the summer months you can enjoy tea and cakes in the beautiful garden. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful garden, cafe not so good. Very limited menu and service would be very slow if busy. Scones were OK but warmed in the microwave. If the cafe was improved, this wood be one of the best spots in Rottingdean.

Wonderful exhibition of the artist William Nicholson who once lived here, including material loaned from his family. Don’t forget to visit the Jekyll designed garden too.

Beautiful small and peaceful garden designed by Gertrude Jekyll and where you can have a cup.of tea and a slice cake as well. What's more to like!

A hidden gem; in late spring or summer the flint walked garden is so restful, and the cakes are delicious.

Main building was closed. Went for tea and cake in the garden.
The garden itself is stunning and secluded, I would go there just for the garden!
The tea and cake were fine, some interesting cake types to try.
The prices were very reasonable.
The staff are lovely.
Would recommend.

Good place to go for lunch of just a coffee. Very nice gardens to eat outside. Can get very busy though.

This lovely cafe is a real hidden gem. Light lunches served in a beautiful walled garden at the rear. A little off the beaten track but a lovely location, friendly staff and great homemade food.

The Christmas craft market had some very nice things. I was disappointed that the Kipling room remained closed
