Township is a nice collection of houses from various times.
Cafe with great coffee and cakes. They suffered a small earthquake recently which has caused sw damage to the old, delicate buildings- hope they get funding for restoration and also to help improve what is a national asset

Wow! This is an incredible museum, more a piece of history that is being presented, managed and interpreted wonderfully.
The township is brought to life through the lives of the people who lived there, helped by the houses, where possible, being set up exactly as they were when last occupied, or as they had been in earlier decades.
If you have an interest in social history, and past life in Scotland, this is a visit not to be missed!

Tha Dualchas an seo. This is the place to be. Quietly waiting on the side of a mountain you will find this treasure. Focus for most people tends to be Castles and Battlefields but what about the stories less told? What about the people who lived this way until the 1960's? This space is an amazing find, caretaken by locals and volunteers you couldn't find yourself in a more welcoming space. The staff is extremely friendly and it is the best place to go (and the only space of it's kind) where you can view daily life that is not historically romanticized because it is so recent. This is not a reconstruction, this is an actual communal based living location that is the last, and only of its kind in scotland. Reminding all who enter that there are other more communal ways to live as we get pushed further and further into the greed of capitolism and self-identity vs shared community.

Amazing place. Talked for quite a while with Kathy one of the travelling community. She was so interesting and her story needs to be told.

Interesting museum and well worth a visit. Very friendly and welcoming place and they provide lots of information on the exhibition. There is also a wee cafe and a perfectly clean toilet. Hand sanitiser available, one way system and social distancing measures are all in place. I had a great time here!

Historicaly this former village/town may be of high importance, yet being not an historican, for me it was not really worth to pay the admission of 12 pounds and cycle all the way up and down from Inveraray. During my visit only some buildings where open to visit and some other buildings where clearly closed with big fences. (I would like to inform all readers that I did receive a full refund today due to the fact that I did not enjoy my visit very much! I highly appreciate this generous/customer friendly service!)
