I love these little local snapshots of history. This place is great, loads of information on the life Angus MacAskill whom I would have never have heard of without coming here. We rang the visitors bell a few times and nobody came but the sign says just to enter so we did. My daughter hates dummies so be warned, it's a big one!! There was a mountain bike near the door which seemed out of place until my son started flipping out because there was a photo of Danny MacAskill by it, who he recognised as he follows him on youtube so there's obviously a family connection there. Shame we didn't talk to anyone to get more info about that but I enjoyed reading the many info boards about Angus who seemed like a really lovely man

The museum is quirky and interesting. Peter, the owner, is very friendly and down-to-earth, and it was great to him about his life and his son Danny MacAskill, of whom my husband and I are fans. As an added bonus the bike Danny used in his film "Wee Day Out" is in the museum!

A gem we discovered enroute to Dunvegan Castle. It is small but packed with fascinating information about Giant Angus MacAskill as well as a warm welcome from the lady who runs it.

Took my niece and nephew here and they LOVED it. The museum was really fun and interesting and the man was absolutely brilliant telling us the story of Giant Macaskill and how the museum came to be. A truly wonderful gentleman. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely museum, even lovelier people. Went in for a coffee and chat that lasted hours. Went for the museum, stayed for the people. Give a visit and say hello to Peter and Anne!

A fortuitous discovery and one definitely not to be missed. A Giant story, all fact and no fiction. The sign by the door with admission at £2 per adult, and to ring the bell and wait...
..had me thinking the honesty box was inside, but as we gazed at some relics of the past, the notable proprietor Peter MacAskill suddenly appeared to explain all! We were captivated and impressed by the life story of the Giant MacAskill, and no less by some of Peter's history too.
If you have the chance, visit the museum, listen to Peter, and support his project!

Interesting museum with very knowledgeable owner, who just happens to be the father of world-famous cyclist Danny MacAskill! One of his bikes is even inside!!

Great fun. Peter was amazing and you can tell this was his personal passion project. Ask him about the coffin story. That was worth the entry fee alone!

No trip to Skye is complete without visiting this wonderfull museum. Quite simply the best tourist attraction on Skye. The proprietor is so lovely and has the best stories on Skye.

Superb friendly visit to a magnificent wee museum. Great family history told by Pete MacAskill who was patient, knowledgeable and fabulous with the kids. The ancient building is a joy to see. Well worth a visit. Just pull up and ring the bell.. you won't be disappointed 👍

Loved this, it's a tiny wee quirky place but the guy who owns it is full of stories and information and I definitely recommend a visit. There's public park just a 2 minute walk away and it's £2.00 to get in to the museum. There's an honesty box set up for when the owner isn't there.

A MUST visit if in the area. What a character Peter MacAskill is. This is his labour of love and what a quirky little museum he has created. Loved learning about the giant Angus, Tom Thumb and also the BMXer Danny MacAskill.

A very sweet and lovely museum documenting an interesting family history. Nicely laid out with information available in multiple languages. The owner is lovely and chatty, and recommended a few other sight-seeing places in the area. Definitely worth popping in if you're in the area.

Places and people like this make up the fabric of Skye. Visit the little museum/exhibition and chat with with the man who put it together - you won't be disappointed or forget it.

We really enjoyed our visit to this little museum. The owner is a lovely, interesting and very informative man.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Personal tour of a larger than life figure by one of his relatives.
Big man. Very impressed.

An absolute delight. A shame none of the relics are real (replicas) but such an unusual little place. The owner was a very friendly, eccentric man who took time to talk to us and the kids. The theme itself is unusual and the museum is definitely worth an hour or so if you are in that part of Skye. We thought it was fantastic.

Small, but really interesting. The gentleman there was great to talk to, enthusiastic about the Island and about his family history. He was interesting, knowledgable and turned out to be Danmy MacAskill’s Father which was an added bonus . A worthwhile stop in Dunvegan!

Amazing . A great place to visit when in Skye irrespective of the weather. Walk back in time with living history, a great experience to visit.
A warm welcome await and good crac.
Great for photos and fun for all especially kids.
Great to meet Danny’s Dad and to chat in Gaelic. He should set up a similar display dedicated to his son.
Easy to park and coffee shop nearby.

A great little hidden gem dedicated to the tallest Scotsman of all time. Peter, who runs the museum and who is a direct relation of Angus MacAskill, is very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to field questions. We'll worth stopping in!

Small museum, but the owner is brilliant, and the father of Danny MacAskill to boot!
If you're going to Dunvegan Castle, make sure you pop into this museum and have a chat with the owner. 👍 Parking is limited.

Fun and quirky museum which is well worth a visit. The owner (a distant relative of the "giant") is full of fascinating stories.

The Giant Angus MacAskill Museum must been seen.
Extraordinary Collection.
Angus was the tallest man of his time and very strong due to his size.
The museum tells the story of his life and
shows furniture made for his enourmous measure.
The museum is run by friendly Peter MacAskill.

Great wee bit of Scottish history told by an ancestor of the Giant himself. Worth popping in while visiting Dunvegan.

I was there years a loved it. The owner is a great guy to talk to and when he found out my mother was a Macaskill from Nova Scotia he was quite excited.
