A small but a beautiful museum to visit. The staff is very friendly and gives a good explanation about the artifacts. On the first floor there is an area which depicts the history of the Rosemarkie village. The museum is on the main road and well maintained. Opening time is from 1pm to 4pm.

Small museum about local Pictish historical stones and the local areas history.
+ Friendly knowledgeable staff.
Only one room with two floors so it is not going to take too long to look around. Reading everything and watching Thier short film took us about 40 mins total I think.
Few items for purchase and they accept donations. Suggested donation when we where there was £3 per person which we donated happily (donation box, no pressure)
A nice wee museum and if paired along with a walk up to the fairy glen falls and/or a stroll along the beach a worth while detour.

Wee gem of a museum with a fabulous collection of Pictish stones, work by George Bain and the gift shop alone is worth a visit. The staff & volunteers are very knowledgeable & friendly. Must do if you're in the area.

If you are interested in Pictish Stones and local history this is an excellent museum, well worth a visit. It was also very nice to get a personal welcome from the lady on duty. The museum has a great variety of books, cards and souvenirs. Entrance is free but you can leave a donation. One piece of advice check the opening times although during the summer months you should be fine.

Groam House is a small museum that focuses brilliantly on Scotland’s Pictish heritage and contemporary efforts to promote arts and crafts inspired by that heritage. Especially impressive are the collection of carved stone panels c. 700 A.D. reflecting both the pagan and Christian elements of that culture. Lighting and presentation of the exhibits are outstanding. Admission is free.

Beautiful well preserved Pictish art. The museum is well laid out and well lit, so the patterns on the stones stand out.

Pictish story is always exiting because we’ll find something new every time we’re in Scotland. Also the history of George Bain is interesting. 🙂🇩🇰🏴

An absolutely fabulous museum. Wonderful guides who were very generous with their time and explained a great deal of extra detail around the local history and folklaw. Well curated exhibits and and activities for children. Definitely worth a visit after/before visiting the fairy glen waterfall and walk .

A little gem in Rosemarkie..lots of interesting Pictish stones on display and other fascinating information. It's not a large place but it certainly has a nice cosy atmosphere, more than likely due to the lovely welcome and wee blether we had with the friendly staff that were in today. It doesn't cost anything to go in but donations are welcome or buy something for yourself from the many gifts available, as this helps to maintain the museum.

Not so much to see but I guess little is being conserved of the Picts. Entrance is free, so nothing to complain about. A donation is appreciated or buy something from the small but fine museum shop. Super friendly service and touristical information are complimentary and much appreciated!

A little museum with a good 30 - 60 minutes worth of interesting things to look at, Pictish carvings, currently a display about ww1 and some activities for children.
Donation rather than entrance fee, all in all, a good visit

I went with young children who really enjoyed the brass rubbing and playing the harp on display. It's a very small museum so you can get a quick idea of local history. There is also a wide variety of stuff in the shop.

Lovely small museum with some fascinating information about Picts, and at the time I went, an exhibition on Rosemarkie in the war. The kids loved the recreated harp also.
