Reviews of Folk of Gloucester

We visited yesterday for the Historic Gloucester in Lego exhibition. It was brilliant!
I hadn’t known of the building before yesterday, so I was completely surprised when we entered into a lovely courtyard area!
We shall definitely be back in the future.
NB: There is currently work taking place on the building, so there is a lot of scaffolding out the front particularly. It does make it rather hard to locate!

Came for the Tales of Witches and Wonder event. Fantastic venue, great staff and massive hearty sandwiches for lunch. Beautiful architecture, lovely atmosphere, will be back next year, or sooner!

Wonderful eclectic museum over 3 levels- stairs! Garden, and cafe when staffed. Use it or lose it as it's threatened with poss closure in 2019??!!

Didn't look much from the outside but I am so so glad I ventured in. This is a totally amazing museum .... not your usual prehistoric relics etc. It's all about the people of Gloucester from war time enrolement office to antique wedding dresses and including local industry.
All set in an old Tudor house with many of the original features there to see.
If I can urge you to visit one museum in Gloucester- this is it.

Not open until about 23 May, but worth the wait, a lot of interest and volunteers are tidying garden etc that is looking lovely. To appreciate join the volunteers on Saturday mornings from rear entrance.

Great history, great displays at the museum. Well worth a visit. The museum now charges entrance fees. I bought a £10 membership, this will give me unlimited visits to 4 museums within Gloucester throughout the year.

Lovely old, ramshackle facility. Nice museum pieces and fun community events. I bought a few here. Hard to beat that.

Lovely Tudor building with exhibits laid out in seperate areas off interest and spans from Tudor to present. Tudor wall paintings were wonderful to see. The building also has original beams and floors that are uneven just as they would have been. A very nice experience.

A great little museum celebrating Gloucester life. We loved the dressing up that was available around the museum and the wedding dress section. Very interesting to read the family stories behind the dresses. I wish there were more.

The steam punk event was brilliant. Hope they advertise it better next year. Perhaps in the Echo and The Answer!

Lots of interesting artefacts relating to local history. Most displays would appeal to different age groups. Some good workshops and events throughout the year. Some staff could learn more about Gloucester to assist visitors.
