A aircraft museum run by volunteers with free entry. This place is focused on the invention of the Jet in Cheltenham and is well worth a visit. A small cafe at the front provides refreshments. Full wheelchair access inside and more difficult stones outside, but still possible. It is alongside a working airport... While we were there a Vampire and a Yak landed...along with many modern light aircraft.

Free entry. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteer staff. Some lovely older jetcplanes to admire. Various cockpits you can climb in to. Interesting cockpit talk and tour of the first airliner to feature automatic landing. Well worth popping in to take a look round.

Fantastic little museum with friendly and knowledgeable volunteers and lots of interesting exhibits. My sons (six and eight) particularly enjoyed sitting in the fighter jet cockpits and the guided tour of the Trident airliner was excellent. Well worth a visit.

Great discovery! A fascinating insight into Gloucestershires contribution to aviation and more importantly the jet engine. My father was thrilled to find a Meteor 7 there, which he worked on in the RAF. Staffed by volunteers, free entry but donations gladly accepted.

Great little museum! Perfect place to bring the kids as they have lots of hands on things for them to enjoy. All the volunteers are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Some of the extra tours cost but the museum itself is completely free, as is parking.

Great Museum, lots of information and opportunities to see the aircraft up close. Exhibits range from WW1 to cold war period. Cockpit sections avalible for visitors to sit in. The site is run on a volunteer basis, with friendly informed staff. It's free to enter with a choice to make a donation. If this is your passion, they are looking for more volunteers as the museum is continually expanding.

Great for a free, volunteer-run museum! Several cockpits are available to sit in, and we had a great mini-tour of the Trident cockpit. Several jet engines are on display but none of them can be seen running, sadly! Budget about 2 hours total to see everything.

We visited on Armed Forces day and although we are not particularly into aviation we had a good hour or so looking around. The staff were very friendly and happy to share their knowledge with you at any time. Really worth a visit if you are in the area especially as it is completely free!

Small but perfectly formed and well run by volunteers, many with direct experience of flying or working on the aircraft exhibited. There's nothing quite like getting "hands on" with history and there are very few museums that allow it, so being able to climb into the cockpits of a Vulcan and TriStar make a visit truly memorable. The museum is not funded, so please be generous when visiting :0)

Plenty of fun for the children as their are several planes for them to sit and even the adults are not left out. 2 tours that you can do but book on them early as they are popular. So well adapted to the new methods of covid. The staff all wore masks but still told stories ans answered questions. The planes were wonderful and the displays about women in the air industry were really enlightening. Wish we had arrived earlier.

Great day out @Jet Age Museum. Free entry but full of excitement especially for the little ones that can get into several fighter jets cockpits as well as a lovely tour of one of the first airliners cabin and cockpit. Well worth it. And you can either take advantage of the cafe for some refreshments or go for a picnic on the outdoor tables which front the runway. Always exciting on a good weather day with various take-offs and landings.

You don't get many places with FREE entry. This is fantastic for all ages, there are a couple of attractions that have a charge but it's only around £2 per person and both of these are well worth the money. Great little picnic table area overlooking the airport. Cafe serves great food at very reasonable prices. Definitely recommend a visit.

Fantastic couple of hours. All the volunteers are super friendly and very knowledgeable. There's a lot to take in and it was a great experience sitting in the cockpits. There's a nice cafe and a picnic area with a view of the airfield where the kids loved seeing a couple of planes and a helicopter land. Amazingly, it's free. There are points to drop cash donations but there's no pressure to donate if you're unable to. People have clearly worked very hard on a museum for everyone to enjoy and I recommend it. Will be interesting to go back soon and see what's been added.

I’ve just taken my son here. I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s small but light, spacious and well laid out. It’s open on weekends only because it’s run by volunteers and relies entirely on donations. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. There’s a Vulcan bomber cockpit tour, large, free car park and nice cafe. Apparently there are plans to expand the museum which will be great. I never realised that there was so much aviation-related industry around here. I’m glad it’s local to me because I’ll be going back.

Really good experience. Quite amazing that they do all this on donations and don't charge an entry fee. Although it's small and currently not all exhibits are open, (due to COVID) it was still an informative experience with enthusiastic volunteers who were more than happy to share their passion for the place and the history involved. A great way to spend a few hours. The volunteers are super friendly and very knowledgeable. 4 planes that you can actually sit in the cockpit, plus a bonus plane for little fliers! Would 100% recommend, and I'm not even the biggest fan of planes (my boyfriend dragged me along as it's his thing)

Excellent museum, totally run by volunteers. Great collection of aircraft including a number of Meteors with a stunning F8 and a Javelin. The open cockpits are excellent too, with a Vulcan and a Trident. There is no entry fee but they absolutely deserve every donation they get - a fitting tribute to Gloucester's aviation heritage.

Fantastic visit to the museum, which has a fascinating and extremely valuable collection of aircraft, where else can you sit in the cockpit of a Vulcan bomber as well see an excellent collection of Gloster Meteors! Also, a great team of volunteers who were extremely enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful. Following my first visit, last week, I went again just a few days later as I had enjoyed it so much, and l will certainly be back again. We are so lucky to have this museum in the UK, keep up the great work, and thank you! 😀

This was an unplanned visit but certainly worth it. The place takes around couple of hours to see around and if you are interested in details, might be an hour more but its very informative and most importantly the staff were just awesome. :) Everyone was helpful and keen to explain about planes, engines and history too. Really enjoyed the visit and now hoping to visit again soon after further extension in next few months.

Pleasantly surprised by visit. The volunteers around the place were friendly, knowledgeable and had infectious enthusiasm. Tour of the Vulcan bomber by someone who served in one v interesting, as was the airline cabin visit. My kids loved climbing in a cockpit, kept them occupied for a long while. Place is free so please give generously to keep it going, as it relies on donations and purchases!

This is a fab little museum with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The volunteers couldn’t do more for myself and my disabled wife. They were so interactive and friendly towards my 2 year old and they added to our visit with their enthusiasm and passion for the aircraft they look after. Sitting in the cockpit of the Vulcan was a major highlight for me and is a tick off my bucket list. Very educational and engaging! Will be back!!

We had fantastic afternoon visiting santa in the trident. For a small 6 pound my little one got a good few minutes with santa who asked him to turn the radio on whilst he spoke to the north pole through the radio to check if they had the presents ready. My little one got a present and a lollipop. We had a good look around the planes on display and took part in the quiz. Free sticker and poster as prize. My little one wanted a quick build screw fix spitfire and he was so excited to build it on immediate return home. Lovely museum some great interactive planes. We ventured into the vulcan cockpit which was really interesting but very claustrophobic. The volunteers were friendly and extremely knowledgeable and were happy to chat about the planes and interact with the kids. This lovely museum is free entry and only ask for donation.

Great museum to visit to learn about the history of Gloster Aircraft Company and other important British aviation companies all of which have gone now. Will take an hour or two to walk around and read the information and look at the exhibitd. Staff helpful and informative. What a shame we don't have any aviation companies left as we were the pioneers of the jet age.

Really good museum made even more so by the volunteers who were more than happy to impart their knowledge of the planes, engines and their own experiences, most had worked on or been part of the history we were exploring. If you're passing do call in, it's free and it's about our history and heritage and shows how much we've contributed to the world of aviation.

Its a small museum but has some great exhibits. Some rare items and aviation gems. Car park looks over Staverton airport for even more of a plane fix. Certainly worth a visit!

Volunteers make there such a wonderful job!! The atmosphere is awsome and relaxing. You can see how they do this of love and passion for aviation. They seem to know answers for all your questions and are happy to share their knowledge. You can get inside the cockpits of some models including a fighter, a bomber an a pessenger plane. Fascinating place - although small, there is plenty of interest including sit in models and cockpits. Haven't seen this many Meteors since the 50's! It's free, but they need to expand to accommodate the outside planes, which is why anyone who visits should leave a donation. Pity the Javelin FAW4 was parked off-site and only just visible.. Alright, so I'm an anorak, but my 5 year old grandson loved it - especially the the sponge cake.

This little gem is a small museum compared with other , but extremely recomended. I have visited many manu air museums in the uk bur this was special. Their volunteers are great and knowledgeable. Great place to visit with children who like vehicles. Go on a Saturday, even during the winter months and you will see loads of planes and helicopters taking off. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, wonderful bunch of volunteers!
