Amazing, informative and hands down some of the loveliest people I have ever met.
I took my two young daughters to Hull's museum quarter today. Our first stop was the Arctic Corsair. Hailing from Grimsby and having visited the Ross Tiger numerous times we were really looking forward to visiting the Arctic Corsair.
From thew outset the staff at the museum quarter were lovely and really, really nice & helpful. Our guide for the Corsair tour (I wish I had gotten his name; he was tall and skinny with dark hair) was informative, and engaged with my children especially my youngest who is obsessed with ships and the fishing industry. For me the tour was also a learning journey, neither myself or the kids wanted the tour to end and we will definitely go again, probably drag the husband along with us also.
The fact that not only is the tour of the Corsair free but that the whole of the museum quarter is free is absolutely fantastic. What an amazing effort by Hull City Council and the staff of the museum quarter and especially the volunteer tour guides.
Thank you for an amazing day, not only will we be visiting again but we will be spreading our love for the place far and wide.

A real Jem .A look into the past of hulls sidewinder deep sea industry! Well worth a visit whilst in the museum quarter! I spent 4 years on them and it was a hard life! p.s. if you’re a woman visiting it may be better to wear leggings or trousers as you’ll have to climb a ladder to get below decks and back up.so if someone is climbing behind they’ll get an eyeful of your bottom! i was going behind a lady when visiting but let her husband go instead!A real gent is i.

We visited the Artic Corsair with my little family (including our young daughter and her nana)
We had a brilliant tour with cliff - who was so amazing and very patient with our little girl as my wife and I took it in turns to ask him questions.
This experience is amazing and everyone should get see living history in this way!
Nana loved it too!!
Thank you so much for your time and we will be following the move to the dry dock!

The Arctic Corsair is the last Hull based Stern Trawler in existence. We had a completely free, guided tour of it by an ex-trawler man volunteer. He had some amazing and engaging stories and facts. It's an incredible tour.

After going to Hull for a random afternoon wander around, we went to find this ship and see what the story was.
Unfortunately, when we went, it was out of season, so closed. But we returned this weekend (Sunday) and was pleased that we did, it was free of charge, an the host of my tour was an ex engineer that worked on board 40 years ago. Lovelt fella, knowledgable, and engaged with each of the people in our party (7) not only about the ship and the story behind it, but idle chit chat, he was a pleasure to be around and made the whole thing very interesting.
Handled some fella who obviously an enthusiast of some sort and tried talking over the hostabout the history. No need, but he handled him well.
On the basis that these guys do it for the love of the ship and the history, and that this is free for visitors, its baffling why it isn't over subscribed.
Worthy of note: the ship will be being moved to a non accessible dock soon and off limits for a while, so I suggest you visit soon rather than leaving it.
Thanks guys, enjoyed my time with you.

Loved it. A guided tour of this old trawler in the company of an old sailor, who will tell you a tale or two. Very little has changed inside since the time it was working. A must, but be prepared for a long visit.

Well worth a visit. See hands on how it was on a trawler for all the lucky and the unfortunate.
