Reviews of Clifford Road Tunnels Heritage Site
Very interesting, larger than I expected for the £2 entrance fee, plus a surprise in one of the tunnels! Not too far to walk to from the town centre and if it's nice weather not too far from a good park too.
This air raid shelter was built (along with 2 others) between September and December 1939. It is of concrete construction, pretty impressive time scale considering the limited availability of machinery in those days!
Fantastic place to visit. Such a hidden gem and so pleased these places are still around for people to experience.
Bigger than you'd expect. So much work gone into it. Volunteers were so knowledgeable and friendly.
A fascinating museum hidden under a school playground.... Well worth a visit :)

Stage coach performance arts classes for children.
Friendly volunteers my son and i really enjoyed it big thank you !
