Very classy building inside and out. Resembles London's Senate House to me, but is less phallic. It is a Leeds skyline landmark, but not an eyesore; it's attractive enough to have landed a place on Leeds University's logo. The building does bear some elements of the International Style popular at the time (frugality of ornamentation, wide white wall spaces), but is actually more of 20th-century take on Greek revivalism (fitted as it is with Doric columns within and without) The court effectively serves as foyer to the beautiful Brotherton Library, though it is place in its own right too, hosting events, book fairs, and registrations. The building welcomes members of the general public who can check out a few modest but rich galleries, and therefore Parkinson Court puts on an excellent face for first impressions of the university.

I went here for the international medieval Congress- nice venue.

Pretty good place to work if you are at Leeds uni. No booking required, can get a bit cold at times however and make sure you sit on the left side as the right one is much more uncomfortable and distracting.

There's something really grand and inspiring about this place, with its wood and pillars. There's a good coffee bar inside and the smell of academic brains hard at work.

Very grand entrance to the university and the incredible Brotherton Library.
It also has a Costa and there are usually free seats even when it's super busy

Nice art deco building with a tower you can see for miles. Many steps, but also disabled access

A rather grand entrance to the University of Leeds. You can sit on the steps below or go inside to the library or have a coffee at the small cafe just inside.

You need to check out the museum and art gallery all done for free, this stuff needs to be supported or it will vanish
