I found the museum fascinating. The film of the 1936 fire was particularly interesting as well as the coverage of the varied activities associated with the Palace in Sydenham. I then walked round the site which always makes an impression. The wire fencing may be necessary but is unsightly. Some information boards would be an asset.

Cosy little Museum. Open only on Sundays. Visiting it's totally worthy if you're passionate about Crystal Palace history. Lots of information panels and amazing model. You'll discover many hidden and forgotten details

Tiny, volunteer run museum that nevertheless delivers. I had researched Crystal Palace quite a bit online before I visited and yet I learned so much more at this museum. Don't expect a tremendous selection of artefacts but the photographs, mementos, and information supplied are enough on their own. They also run guided tours of the Crystal Palace park for £5 per person, which offers a tremendous look into the history of the place.

Very interesting place. Went on the guided tour around the ruins of the crystal palace which last 1hr 45 mins. Well worth doing. It cost £5 . The museum is free and open the first Sunday of the month . April till October.

A decent small museum with lots of history about Crystal Palace. It appears to be run a small group of friendly helpful volunteers who like the idea of keeping the history of the place alive.
Free to get in and well worth a visit if in the area.
Lots of stands and photos that both give an idea of the garndure of the building itself and some of the things that it was used for. Even more interesting for me were the few pictures that they had of the fire and the destruction of such an iconic place.
Brilliantly done for such a small building. Lots of interest to see.
Note that there appear to be no guest toilets on site.

This museum tells the story of the Crystal Palace from its inception to its eventual destruction. There are plenty of artefacts, mementos, and pictures and maps of the site. Together they paint a vivid picture of Crystal Palace and the park. This is highly recommended if you have an interest in this fascinating site.

A decent museum telling the story of the crystal palace from its design to its destruction. It's free but only open on Sundays. Well worth a visit, it certainly helps you appreciate the park and what it must have been like when the palace was still standing.

The tour from the museum is well worth the small fee (under £5 each) taking in much of the upper grounds, our tour guide was very enthusiastic and had a great sense of humour, as well as being incredibly knowledgeable about the history and surrounding area and very open to questions about both, which made the tour all the more enjoyable.
Be sure to wear comfortable footwear and clothing for the weather as this does take at least 2 hours, plus you'll want to explore the rest of the grounds and the small museum once the tour is over

"Well worth a visit - created and run by dedicated, enthusiastic local people successful in their aim of preserving and celebrating the importance of this internationally renowned historical site - the permanent home (well at least for 82 years!) of Joseph Paxton's re-erected Crystal Palace (1854-1936)."
