Reviews of Freud Museum London
k.
Visiting Freud's house was an incredible experience. The house is well maintained, with a beautiful and well kept garden. You can see a lot of Freud's significant belongings, especially the world famous couch!!! The experience made me truly emotional, as it was a chance to get closer to the figure of Freud both as a professional and as a human being and family man. The visit also enables to familiarise with the figure of Anna Freud, who was a pioneer in Child Psychology. Great experience all round!!!

Really good for psychology students or anyone interested in freud - do take your time walking around you can buy a coffee and sit in the garden and there is a small gift shop - entrance is round the back

We have been meaning to go here for sometime and certainly was not disappointed. As a psychology student I'm personally fascinated by the work of Freud and we both are infact. I mean a lot of history within one place to take in.
So firstly when arriving, ah yes before this. Please book online via the website as this is key. So as you enter you are asked to walk around the side and into the back garden, it's peaceful and has a sense of calm it's quite something. When arriving you are told about how to listen to the audio files for each room which explains a lot more and quite a fair amount of information to take in, but it's very interesting.
Make sure you have headphones or ear plugs with you so you can make it your own. Was amazed that a lot of his original items were in the house and laid out, it provided a real understanding and a true feeling of what work was carried out.
Best thing to do is book your tickets and to experience it for yourself.
Easy to get to via various train lines including, West Hampstead Overground, Underground, West Hampstead Thameslink and Finchley Road.
Solid A*****

Nice little museum, very interesting exposition and shop with great selection of thematic gifts and souvenirs.
A. P.
Excellently maintained and managed.
Your own private tour listening to the audio guide made this one of the most memorable experiences! A must for anyone interested in the origins of psychotherapy!
T. N.
Really good & informative museum and a good long visit if you make use of the free included audio guide.
Its quite expensive considering its size but you're interested in Freud it may be well worth it.
Highlight is definitely Sigmund's study.
A. S.
Well maintained museum to learn about the life of Freud and see where he spent his last years. The audio tour is well done. The gift shop if packed with a great selection of goods (not all Freud). Stop in to shop even if you don’t visit the Museum!
T. B.
Final home of Sigmund Freud and his daughter, Anna Freud. Also, an pioneer in psychoanalysis. A very interesting museum
R.
Great experience to learn about Freud, his family & his works. Also surreal location as he actually lived in the house, and many things have been left as he would have left them (e.g. his study). Would recommend to all who are interested in psychology, psychiatry and history!

If you are in the area, this museum is worth popping in for a tour. You can see Freud’s famous analytic couch and his former home at 20 Maresfield Gardens, Hampstead London NW3. If you’re interested in Sigmund Freud or Psychoanalysis, you’ll enjoy visiting. Freud's study and library are the most interesting rooms. The others are a bit sparsely decorated but it is an interesting place.
N. O.
An interesting insight into the life and work of Sigmund and Anna Freud.
C. Y. A.
It’s beautiful and you could see a lot of Freud’s collections in the reading room. If the weather is nice, the garden will open, and it’s quite good to seat there for a little while.
However, since it’s not big it may then be a lit bit crowded if you visit on weekends.
D. L.
Freud’s home and studio. Original design and artifacts kept as is and in perfect condition. Has two floors and an outside patio. You can plan private events there as well. Staff is very cordial and helpful.
K. C. G.
Such a delightful and quirky museum! It’s literally a house in the middle of a neighborhood, which gives Freud a homey and cozy feeling- feelings not often associated with Freud. It’s a nice visit for therapists and non-therapists alike. Not only does it house Freud’s work and collectibles, it also features an Original Dali as well as Dali sketches. Definitely worth the trip!
P. S.
Freud’s home for the last 1-2 years of his life, having all his personal belongings, furniture, books, the famous sofa, his desk and custom made chair, the clothes that he weared when he travelled from Austria to London etc.
Beautiful house, where you can freely wander around and take pictures along the way.
It also has a garden bathed in sunlight, where sometimes they host events so it might be closed.
The ticket is valid for a year so if you live in London, you can come back again.
The shop is small and does not have anything spectacular, the books are overpriced of course so I wouldn’t recommend it.
K. W.
Really enjoyed this museum. A must for students and anyone interested in the mind. You learn a lot about Freud himself, his life and family which goes on to explain his theories. Recommend the audio tour. Admission includes a further free admission within the year. Gift shop has many amusing gifts and reading materials. If walking from Finchley Road tube station be warned there is a very steep hill.
S. M. M. H.
Very interesting to see how Frued lived his last few years and what he really loved. His office, bed and his daughter biography are so interesting to me. The Museum is not typical of london but i highly recommend it
Ł. T.
Sigmund Freud only lived in this house during the last year of his life.
You are free to wander around, there are information boards plus an audio guide explaining the usage of those rooms open to the public.
Intresting to see „the couch” and Freud's art collection.
The museum is over two floors and has a lovely garden and an excellent gift shop.
J. K.
As a drama therapist myself I was very curious to see this tiny museum but rather large and comfortable London home. It was truly special to investigate Freud’s office and see the sofa upon which psychoanalysis began in free association. The. To see the history of his life, the flight from the Nazis and the work of his daughter Anna to carry on in his field or also wonderfully displayed. If you are a psychology person go and see it. If you want to see a nice house in London it could also be good for you.
O. N.
If you are into Freud's history, this is an interesting place to visit.

Nostalgic journey back in time- a must visit when in London

Small but interesting venue with lots of nooks and crannies to explore in the house that Sigmund Freud lived in. Entry was £8 and the ticket is valid for a year and cloakroom was also free.
The house itself is beautiful, big and spacious and the half landing was my favorite part of the house. They were also short clips about the family documenting their journey from Austria to London.
P. C.
Definitely worth a visit for anyone, especially those with a passion for psychology and psychotherapy! There’s a great little gift shop with excellent gifts or souvenirs to buy! I bought the id, ego and superego totebag ❤️
R. T.
Great museum! Very interesting.
D.
An intimate and insightful curation of his collections and artifacts. Not only for the die hard Freudians.
P. B.
Fascinating home of the father of psychoanalysis. See the original therapist's couch. He has a fascinating life.
D. D.
It is always a pleasure to see the house museum of the father of psychoanalysis. Love the carpets with all.the fertility patterns and the couch. The receipt you can keep for an year and revisit the museum again. I thought it would be nice if it would give the attendees access to the house museum of Carl gustav Jung in Switzerland as well. One stone two rabbits deal
C. P.
An informative visit to the home of two psych icons after they fled the holocaust. Anna Freud’s work is often overlooked, and it was refreshing to learn more about her life and accomplishments.
C. C.
Amazing place !! Now i understood why in Vienna there were not so many furnitures !! He brought nearly everything over here !! Beautiful place, neighbourhood and marvelous garden to relax 😊
J. I. E. N.
In 1978 I used to live nearly next door to this interesting place (and Anna Freud) without knowing it. Now, around forty years later, I visited this museum off the beaten track. Very interesting exebition. Worth to visit at least more than once.
N.
Loved it here. Really surprised about his couch. I expected it to be brown, maybe made of leather, cold and clinical. But instead it had cushions and throws on it. They had oriental/Mediterranean type patterns on them. Very warm and homey. Not what I expected at all. Loved his library. Wanted to take it home. He loved books too. A little disappointed that there wasn’t a kitchen or bathroom so seemed a little incomplete. But he only stayed there for 1 year. Good visit.
S.
Didnt manage to get inside because it was closed but looks interesting and promising. Take care of the visiting times schedule before going, because a couple of days remains closed! This is the place were Freuf spent the last years of his life
g. g.
A wonderful sincere place. Lots of info. Plus a wonderful garden.
Considering the input the Freuds made to psychoanalysis please contemplate their immigration and how they eventually prospered in a newer place, and how immigrants are 'treated' presently.
There are fantastic deals when you buy a ticket. Additionally is a collaboration with Salvador Dali. See pic
J. K.
Amazing place, very thought provoking and quite sad as it was replicated from his home in Austria but due to poor health he only lived in it for a year. I cried when I walked in to his study and saw the couch. You then realized he sat in there and saw a selected few clients. It also shows Anna's work and how it influenced child psychology. Amazing. We were there for 2 hours and time few. Get the audio tour as it explains everything.
S. W.
It was good to see how freud lived in his later years but it felt like something was lacking.
S.
If you are interested in Freud or psychology it is a great place to visit, but it’s an interesting attraction anyway. The house is small, similar to others in the area, so at times rooms can be quite crowded. It is where he spent his later years and his daughter, Anna, lived there too. The house is located on a typical London street and it took us a little while to find it. Once there admission was reasonable, and there are concession tickets available, it also gives you entry into the museum for a year if you save the receipt (or it did at the time I visited). Spent 1-2 hours here. The famous couch is also there.
D. H.
A really lovely and intimate museum showcasing a really important story. Staff are generally friendly especially the lady welcoming us, however, the museum does lack some important elements including a chair or two already set out to sit on in each room or hallway, plus easy access to water such as a water dispenser, tap or water cooler. When feeling very faint and nearly collapsing I asked the gentleman near the exit if he had any water and he pointed to the tea and coffee but then said 'water is in the shop'. My partner rushed to the shop only for the lady to wait for payment to be made of £1 before the water bottle was given, and the water was hidden behind the counter. I feel it is quite unacceptable that there is no EASY access to water for free and also as a lifesaving and basic necessity, especially as tickets cost £14. This would have made the experience more enjoyable rather than feeling thirsty and dehydrated only to be given a 330ml bottle of water. Please, for future, invest in a water dosenser that is easy to access for everyone. This is so critical and would really make a difference as I would have enjoyed it otherwise. National Trust AND English Heritage attractions are all very good for this aspect, so I do expect the owners will follow suit and invest in a water dispenser or cooler which will be kind to both visitors and staff for a more pleasant day.
J. G.
This is a fascinating place and worth a visit. Even if Freud only lived here briefly it's worth looking at as he did profoundly change the way mankind saw itself and still does. I was sad that the lay out of his consulting room only nearly demonstrates how he worked. Furthermore, there's very little criticism of this clearly flawed man; he grew a beard to hid the scars from jaw surgery to remove cancer. Sad the place makes him more than human. I'm sure he would be slightly offended that his vulnerabilities are obscured. Don't let that stop you visiting he was in the top 10 of world changing individuals. Jamie 🍍

It’s my second time going to the museum and I’m happy I’ve been again. It’s a great place to learn about Fraud and Annas life where the museum takes you back into time. If you keep the recipes it’s also valid for a year so you can go back again.
T. S.
Such an amazing place to visit! People so receptive and lovely, and of course, I was delighted with all elements in this house! Possible a audio guided tour, it's really worth! They also got a store of souvenirs at the back.
V. R.
In a beautiful and quiet Hampstead road this was Freud's residence after he fled Vienna to escape the Nazis. The founder of psychoanalysis will say that would be "our last address on the planet". Inside the house some of the original furniture shipped from Vienna such as the sofa the patients will lay during their psychoanalytic sessions and many of Freud's antiques. There is also a section on his daughter Anna, considered founder of psychoanalytic child psychology, who kept living there after her father's departure. No photographs are allowed inside the house but there is a small shop with postcards.
D. A.
So peaceful and so poignant. Though he only spent the last year of his life here, his library, furniture and collections are all here.
D. H.
As it's set in the old family home its small compared to some museums, but it's a fascinating place and you can go everywhere. It also has a lovely secluded garden.
A. H.
You HAVE to visit here! Most of Freud's personal and professional items, including the couch, are here from Vienna.
C. B.
Enjoyed it. Good potted history of the Freud family life in London.Lots of photos and information available .Very interesting was the copious memorabilia that Freud collected and kept on his desks.
They consisted of cultural artifacts from all over the world , a shed load in fact.
M. D.
Great little museum and a great recommendation for anyone familiar with Freud and wants the opportunity to see his home. Spend sometime in his study room and admire the remaining collection of books, also enjoy some coffee and the little bookstore!
A. V.
Very informative and insightful. I wish they had republications of his work for readers. But wonderful audio tour too. Well preserved and managed.
P. B.
Fascinating home of the father of psychoanalysis. See the original therapist's couch. He has a fascinating life.
A. B.
Freud museum is amazing. You most go on a tour around the house you find out so much information and it is so interesting. Because you are in the Freud house it can get a bit cramped when do the tour. But all in all it is must see.
B. B.
A fascinating place to visit, my partner is doing a degree in this and wanted to visit.
R. D. V.
It is a nice feeling to get the impression that you are among things that once surrounded people like Freud. A place where you feel the pressure of history and great people life. Being there, all stories I have ever read about Freud came to my mind. It was like a beautiful movie.
D.
An intimate and insightful curation of his collections and artifacts. Not only for the die hard Freudians.
S. B.
A very powerful experience. Beautifully managed property that really allows the visitor to feel as if Freud might just walk in through a door.
p.
Loved it. Such a nice atmosphere and very interesting. I also enjoyed seeing the original Dali painting there as part of a special event.

I am a trainee analyst, so it was very special for me to be able to wander around Freud's home and learn a bit more about his life.
L. S.
Full of meaning to those of us who believe Freud was and remains a cornerstone of civilization
G. B.
Nostalgic journey back in time- a must visit when in London
M. J. G.
Small place with lots of stories and memories, timeless furniture and amazing history. Very well maintained. You can spend days there and discover something new every time.
A. S.
Highly interesting to those closely familiar with Freud's work.
Mildly interested at best to anyone else.
Be prepared for a roughly 30 minutes experience, overall.
M. S.
So surreal and a must for anyone who is interested in Freud's works on psychoanalysis.
S. I. S.
A very interesting place learn about Freud's life
The employees are willing to help with everything. pretty easy to navigate!
S. S.
It is intersting to see Freud’s hand writing letters and old photos
M. Z.
I absolutely loved this place! It is quite small but you can easily stay there for a couple of hours to see everything.
You get a good insight into Freud's life in London, how he got here and the work he's done. There is a whole room with the possessions and works of his daughter and a couple of sketches and a painting from Salvador Dali too!
The beautiful garden garden at the back is lovely in the Spring and the summer.
The entrance tickets that you buy are valid for a year (the guy told us that at the ticket office, but that could change at any moment so don't hold me to that) and they do take cards!
I'd highly recommend this place!
L. F.
Lovely museum about Freud and his family. Staff is friendly and price is fine. You can get an audioguide for a few pounds, would advise to do so to actually know what you're looking at. The gift store has a lot of nice things which also are priced fairly. A must see for anyone interested in psychology.
C. S.
Very interesting museum lots of history from world war 2as well as Freud and his family half price with national trust tickets s
M. G.
A real treasure chest intellectually, historically and visually. Not too "touristy" or busy, feels as if you've been invited in for a home viewing.
P. P.
Pretty house on a quiet street. It wasn't busy at all. If you didn't know, you would miss it
R. T.
Great museum! Very interesting.
T. H. E.
One of the best museums I've ever been to. Small but packed with things to read and look at, beautiful atmosphere and a shop that actually has unique items. The audio guide was well worth the money. If I go to London I will visit again, I can't recommend it highly enough.
M. E.
I totally recommend this magical place even if you're not interested in psychology. It was Sigmung Freud's home until he died. He was seeing his patients here on his famous analytical couch. There are interesting collection objects in his room that really say a lot about his personality. There are other rooms in the house worth seeing. Don't miss this if you're in London!
L. G.
The museum was closed when I went, but hope to visit another time to see the world of Freud.
M. S.
I've been a huge fan of Freud since I was a child, and being able to see his desk, books and where he ate was beyond comparison. The museum is very relaxed, and there are some pretty good learning videos you can watch about Freud's life (skip it if you know him well). Overall, I was amazed how thick the rooms were with intensity, yet lacking even a hint of tobacco smells from one of the thousands of cigars Freud must have smoked there!
a. c.
It’s my second time going to the museum and I’m happy I’ve been again. It’s a great place to learn about Fraud and Annas life where the museum takes you back into time. If you keep the recipes it’s also valid for a year so you can go back again.
B. T. R.
The museum is on the house Freud lived in during his last year, after moving from Vienna. All of his belongings are there, which lend to the place an incredible atmosphere. A fascinating glimpse into one of the greatest minds of the past century.
C. W.
Very interesting, highly recommend. Beautiful house
A. N.
Furnitures were kept as they were. Ticket validity lasts a year for re-entry.
E.
Very surreal being in the house of the Freuds. A well maintained museum, with a lovely garden.
C. C.
Really interesting museum for anyone that likes psychology. You do learn about more than just Freud, but it's mostly the man himself. You get to walk through his house and see how he lived, which I though was really cool. Reasonable priced and the ticket can be reused I believe for the rest if the year.
P. L.
A well-cared-for site of Freud's life and work. It's amazing to see Sigmund Freud's actual belongings and furniture. Anna Freud's life is also well documented and for those who don't know about the relevance of her work, this is a good place to start learning about it.
K. O.
All what the Freud family could bring over, the famous sofa and so much more. S.freuds collection or artefacts was extensive, who knew? Not just all about Sigmund. Also mysteries to solve about Anna and her path to child psyche. Totally worth it. And staff are very friendly. + amazing gift shop.
J. R.
Such a posh part of London. Worth going here just for the walk from the station past all the nice houses. I'm not bothered about Freud and went here for a talk about play therapy but whilst there I visited the museum part and it is really pretty nice although small. I wish I lived in a big house like this with nice furniture like what he had.
L. R.
Amazing experience. Freud's office exactly as he left it. Many interesting things there to view, from artwork to books to many personal possessions Freud cherished and collected. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in visiting. Additionally, I recommend using the headset to get a verbal tour of each area as well, as the tour is not guided by anyone other than yourself. Depending upon your interest, I would recommend no less than at least one hour set aside for this tour.
J. P.
Very interesting to see the house of a brilliant mind. It gives you a feeling of him being around, talking to his patients and creating
D. a. S.
Fascinating place to visit. Ensure that you have time to read everything on display and absorb the ambiance.
E. T.
Brilliant experience to have visited Freud's London home.
J. O.
First let me say I think it's worth a visit. Not least because the area is interesting with large houses in different styles and Freud's is very pleasant. As for the museum, it is interesting to see his study effectivly transported from Vienna when he left there just before WW2, but for me it was a relatively short experience, taking us around 90 minutes. I felt the full price admission of £9 is too high, though to be fair that allows entry for a year. One slight disappointment was to discover Freud only lived here for one year, though the study does faithfully show his home study in Vienna
Plenty of eateries and coffee shops on nearby Finchley road. Closed Monday and Tuesday
M. G.
A great character of the history of humanity and a very nice house
A. B.
Nice house. I could live there just as it is. Lots of information to learn from about this house. He only lived there for a year before he died but most of his furniture etc from Vienna is in there. You’ll learn about his life there not so much about psychoanalytical theory.
P. W.
Interesting place to learn about this character and his family and colleague's . His artefacts were a surprise. Shop had a good deal to offer. And as National Trust members we received an unexpected discount.
H. B.
Amazing experience to be able to visit Freud's Study and Library as it was when Freud was living at 20 Maresfield Gardens. One simply has to visit to be able to make a connection to the history. The second highlight was two-fold in that one got an opportunity to also learn about Anna Freud and her contribution to Psychoanalysis and also explore about the encounter between Salvador Dali and Sigmund Freud. For a limited period Dali's painting "Metamorphosis of Narcissus" is on display at the Museum.
N. T.
One of my favourites in the whole of London. A very educational place and a must visit for people who are into Psychology.
I would also like to mention that your volunteers/staff are very warm, friendly and welcoming; good job to all of you.
K. P.
Fairly small museum, but very interesting. When you buy entry, they give you free entry for the rest of the year. If you're a student you can get it for half price, it's £8 for an ordinary adult ticket. The gift shop is great!
S. T.
Amazing to see the house of a person that has such an impact on psychology, even today
Α. Α.
Extremely interesting and well-preserved. A must see in London.
A. T.
Very interesting to see Freud's beautiful last house which replicated his house in Vienna. Many recorded interviews of both Freud and his daughter, Anna, as well as videos. It not only gives an insight in Freud s life but also into his relation to his daughter. A very interesting and informative visit which however, left me very suspicious of Freud s motivation and the soundness of his theories. Best tube is Finchley Park and then it s 10 minutes walk.
L. G.
Here you will see one of the most important rooms on the planet. Almost, as Freud's work was really done in Vienna and it was to London he came for sanctuary. But it was also Anna Freud's base, and it is a great experience to be in this place which so shaped our perhaps futile, though always brave, attempts at self-understanding.
B. B.
Absolutely loved this; one of my favorite places I visited in London. Informational & thought provoking. The audio tour is a must. Staff is extremely nice & helpful. If I didn't live in the States I would certainly visit more often!
B. C.
First time visit, tickets last a whole year which is great if you live in London, otherwise it's a bit expensive as the house is rather small. Special exhibition room is tiny, but luckily on this visit there was the Dali exhibition and I did see the original Metamorphosis, which was a treat.
There's no cafe, but you can pay and make your own coffee from one of those coffee pod machines.
There are two floors, with no lift facilities, so not suitable for wheelchairs etc.
T. K.
Very interesting and definitely worth spending an hour and a half looking and learning about the man who made so many strives in the field of psychoanalysis. I have never really been a psychology or history enthusiast but it was well worth a visit!
D. Y.
Very nice historical place
C. H.
Enjoyed my visit here. Interesting house, it has been very calm and relaxating atmosphere when I went there. Located in peaceful residential area. Small but interesting private collection of antiques. Some interesting Egyptian collectables. Nice souvenir and book shop with interesting materials
u. g. G.
I went when there was an exhibition of Dali and it was such amazing! Just loved the interpretation. The only setback was the audio guide added little to the visit as almost all narration was written on the boards around the artefacts and exhibitions. So it was quite disorienting as I wasn't sure whether to read or listen to the audio before I realised that it's all the same.
D. A.
Interesting enough if you have an interest in Freud (which I don't: I was there with a friend). Could have done without the Freud fan-boys and girls who gushed about everything: plainly psychology students. The gift-shop - which you do not have to exit via - is hilariously tasteless.
J. C.
Its a great museum to visit. Small. One can visit the 2 floors in less than 2 hrs. Full of interesting items. Too bad the patio is not in used as a cafe or something similar. Free cloakroom. Audio guide is not of great help.
E. A.
Didn’t expect it to be that inspirational. Spent two hours there going through every lil details.
A. S.
I was deeply touched to visist the last house of this great Sigmund Freu. It is more of a travel through is personal universe than a museum about psychoanalysis. There is an audioguide available but I didn't like this sort of things and I only wanted to feel the house, to be here, where the genius lived. Impressive
L. V.
Excellent small museum, well worth the trip. Loads of interesting information on the Freuds (Sigmund and Anna) and their contributions to science. Absolutely do not miss this.
P. T.
Amazing place!! You can buy your ticket once and you can come back with the same ticket for a year.
E. G.
A very significant historical place for all those interested in the Freuds (Sigmund, Anna, etc.) and in Hampstead, its buildings of architectural interest and the historical associations of the area. For about a year, the Freud Museum was my daily view from the residence where I lived. At that time the great Anna Freud still lived there.
R. K.
The museum is very relaxed, and there are some pretty good learning videos you can watch about Freud's life.
Z. C.
Omg I loved this place! As a psychology student, i was amazed at how well everything was kept and how preserved Freud's sofa was. Brilliant place, definitely coming back again
P. d. M.
Very touching and intimate experience. One can see the deep interests of such important man in a amazingly well preserved room. Definitelly worth a visit.

I took a selfie in front of the famous narcissist painting by Dali. Not sure what that says about my mother. And, tbh, I wanted a selfie lying on the famous couch, which is there (original, imported from Vienna). THAT one, where all the hysterics once lay. Downer, you are not allowed to even touch it. So quite a exercise for your ego. Finally, I wanted to at least find some traces of Coca, yet again, to no avail. They must have used it up in the last 80yrs. Even more disappointing, I could not even find any paraphelia, oh slip of tongue, paraphernalia. None - instead the whole place is literally full of relicts and figures and masks and amulets. Many phalli - nothing to snort through. So in this sense, a collective repression of desires. But hey: what is the relation between Psychoanalysis and Archeology? Both aim to reveal and liberate historically formed layers. Finally, staff was exceptionally polite. The only thing I missed was a cellar, a symbolic place celebrating buried desires. Nothing here hints at anything subconcious. They should have build him a house with a spacious dark room. But I suspect they have - they must be hiding it...

Lovely gardens and a wealth of information available to learn about Freud. Found it fascinating. Worth a visit.

Home of the legend

This place gives you a sense of peace. Everything in the right place, harmony and calmness. Spend some time in Freud's garden, especially if it's a sunny day.

Loved this museum. This was a house that Freud actually lived and worked in. It showed about has life and work. Told how he ended up living there. Worth a visit.
R. K.
The museum is very relaxed, and there are some pretty good learning videos you can watch about Freud's life.
O. T. (.
Nice place to get more information about Freud. It is small but enjoyable if one is interested in Freud
H. M.
I saw a great documentary here about the work of Volkan Vamık, so it’s more than simply a beautifully kept shrine to Anna and Sigmund. Watch out for the loo on the top floor, it doesn’t flush so well to everybody’s horror. The symptom returns.
L. R.
This is a very interesting place, part museum, part 'monument'. It's small, I think it could have more information about Freud's work but it has lots on Anna's.
S. v. T.
Not 5 stars due to half of house being closed off building. Great free tour at 2pm and 4pm! Also, the original garden is open and gets sun all day
Z. M.
Amazing museum, love this place
F. T.
Love this place. But take your time, allow at least half a day because there is alot of information. I loved the eccentric museum staff who themselves seem to want to analyse the visitors!
H. A.
We had met his grandson Lucien Freud..
The most famous painter in last century.... Their background and creatings of art works and paintings were amazinh.... It is not just because of price sold in Sotheby's or Other auction houses.... But indeed, try to watch each drawings he made and how this family had influenced the world in all aspects..arts, psychology and thinking...

Love! Love! Love! I have been to so many museums. Before I went there, I was more interested in Freud's life. I never realised a small museum could touched me so much. It is very personal and very immersive. I even had the déjà vu when I was standing in his therapy room. I could go back there anytime and just stand in the house, anywhere in the house, and feel his presence. I don't feel words can express my feelings.

(Translated) Very interesting to visit the house that Freud lived in London.
The personal effects are arranged as if Freud had died yesterday. Your office is perfectly set up. Exciting. Anna's rooms are also there, with their simplicity and organization.

(Translated) Impressive, for psychoanalytic lovers it is very exciting to be in the last house of Freud. It has the original furniture, all kinds of objects that Freud collected, including Egyptian art. There is the couch and the library. (Translated) It is a pity that the museum does not make the effort to put itself within the reach of all visitors so that in the absence of interest in the shrink or / and Freud the visitor will be frustrated to have paid to see a couch. (Translated) Freud Museum, located in Hampstead, London, a true extract of history,
Excellent biographical museum opened in the last house where Freud lived until his death.
The Freud Museum in London is a space dedicated to Sigmund Freud, who lived with his family during his last days of life.
Before he died, Freud continued to work in London, and it was in the British capital that he finalized his book, Moses and Monotheism. In that same house, Freud continued to exercise psychoanalysis and receive patients for analysis. The centerpiece of the museum is the divan brought from Berggasse. On this couch, Freud asked his patients to say whatever came to their minds, without selecting the information.
Super recommended place.
