I find 20th Century modernist architecture really interesting and frequently beautiful, so a visit to the Isokon was on the agenda! The Isokon Gallery is small, but the people here are very knowledgeable. I followed up my short visit here with the Hampstead Modernist Trail leaflet route (the Isokon sells the leaflet) which took a further couple of hours or so. Enjoyable day if you don’t mind a bit of walking ;)

Isokon Gallery offers free entry for everyone who is interested the history and the stories behind the legendary Isokon Building, aka The Lawn Road Flats. It's a small gallery full of elegant and classic furniture pieces, architecture drawing and explanatory displays, only opens in weekends from March to October every year.

Very small - verging on the tiny - exhibition space, yet very interesting. Entrance is free yet donations (£5) are welcomed, especially as the place is run by volunteers. If in the area, worth coming. Its like 7 minutes from the tube station

A capsule collection and concise overview of the restored Grade I Listed building, a nexus of the pre-war Modernist movement in England.
Evoking the milieu, the intellectual and cultural ethos and the intriguing caste of originators, emigre residents, sojourners, architects, fellow travellers and real spies.
Insight and impetus aplenty here with engaging and knowledgeable 'guides'.
Albeit compact the installation is exemplary - a design for life.

Great little place with interesting background of the people who had this stunning block built

Really interesting with its connection to the Bauhaus. Can't wait to get an opportunity to visit it during an open house weekend.. (not this year )

Interesting little museum about the building, design and architects. Worth a visit If you are in the area and into architecture and design.

Small but very interesting. Nice little details like the menu of food provided for the flats, and a map of all the influential people living in Hampstead in the 1930s. Free and has a toilet.

Passed by and popped in to take a look. Small exhibition but an interesting one. Can be a bit esoteric if you don't have an interest in architecture/design though
