Stayed for a night in a private room. Staff where really friendly and accommodating. They let us leave luggage after we checked out so gave us an extra day of exploring! Beds are super comfy and free breakfast. Excellent location, easy to get to alot of the major attractions in Central London. Excellent value and everything you want from budget accommodation. Would stay again!

I really liked staying at Pickwick Hall, characterful house with many period features. A little shabby in places but not to it's detriment. Room was pleasant and comfortable, large too. Showers and toilet were fine answered shared, I'm not sure if there's any private bathrooms. Breakfast was basic but of good quality and plentiful, staff were very good. Finally the low price belittles the quality. I recommend this hostel.

Great location is almost ideal. Tube nearby. Nice to have fridge and microwave and sink. Common bathroom old but relatively clean. Shower room needs maintenance, rusty, a bit of mould. Free breakfast toast and cereal. Coffee tea. Nice small common area. Staff helpful. Not a fan of the bed too soft. Heater helpful. I paid 55 pounds which is on the high end for something like this compared to other budget hotels with ensuites.

A fantastically clean place with really nice little rooms. Caters to a non-party crowd, which is nice if you are coming in to explore or for work etc. The staff is incredible, and will go out of their way to help. I had a meeting the evening of my checkout, and they had no issues letting me come on back in to iron a shirt and freshen up before leaving the hostel for good. The breakfast is simple, but good enough. Would highly recommend.

Location is amazing. Within walking distance of most places of interest. Room was large and contained a sink. Used the window to let in cool air, but at night bugs come in due to no screen. Shower was good, but drained slowly and pooled immediately. Staff (especially Patrick) was very pleasant to talk to. Breakfast was simple but high-quality. Overall, a very good experience for what we paid. Would consider again for a future trip.

Great place to stay! Location is great, it isn't hard to get to two different tube stations. The main issue was cooling - there are no air conditioners and very few fans. Being on the top floor means being hot, but with no air flow it is almost brutal. I suggest bringing your own small fan or money to buy one from a nearby shop.

Nice place to stay and it certainly has character to it. The tube is very close by and also the way to Wembley Stadium isn't too far. All in all we had a pleasant stay (minus the one time the lock on our door was kind of jammed and we were locked in our room.. but that could luckily be solved by us and some very nice ladies who were also staying there). We stayed there for two nights.

Good hostel for a fair price. Very central and within walking distance of at least 3 underground stations. They made a small mistake with our booking but rectified it immediately without us even asking and apologised, which was very nice of them. The interior is old and the place might need some minor repairing overall but it is still cosy and comfortable.

I'll be honest, I was nervous about staying in a hostel. I've heard plenty of horror stories from friends, but the reviews on Google and HostelWorld sold me on this place. So here's my small contribution: Talk about Surprise and Delight - Pickwick Hall does exactly that! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We had a complicated situation where I had to move into a female dorm room for one night while my brother took my space in our private room with my husband. When we checked in, Alzira remembered my tricky situation and explained it perfectly to Patrick. On the day I had to swap rooms, Alzira left my new dorm room key on the bed with a note and had repositioned our room so the bed was in two singles instead of a double! We hadn't even considered that as a possibility, but my brother and husband were thrilled that they didn't have to share a bed that night. Then, when I moved out of the dorm and back into the private room, the beds were once again moved together. It was a little thing, but it was unexpected and really really thoughtful. We talked about it all day - how blown away we were that they would do something so considerate. And even the night I stayed in the Shared Dorm Room was great! I was the first one to retire, but the other occupants were considerate and quiet when they came in later that night. That probably just depends on the personalities staying there, but I definitely got lucky! Our private bedroom on the 2nd floor shared a bathroom area (two showers and two toilet stalls) with 1 4-bed female dorm room and 1 other private room. I literally never ran into anyone else in the bathroom or shower area. The room was clean, and had a wardrobe with plenty of hangers, a microwave and fridge, a sink (SO great not to have to traipse back to the bathroom just to brush your teeth!), a desk, a good fan, a nightstand and two lamps. Breakfast was simple (cereal and toast) but sufficient to get a good start to the day. Patrick was very friendly, very very kind, and quick to respond to my email when I told him we had to check out early and we'd left our keys in our room. Safety never felt like an issue as everyone staying in the hostel had a FOB for the front door and a key to their room. We had a grumpy German lady in the room next to us who would come out and tell us to stop slamming our door, but that was just how it closed! The lock is heavy-duty and loud, and we definitely were not slamming it. For the cost alone, I don't think you'll find a better place - clean, quiet hostel, friendly hosts, and IDEAL location (very close to Holborn and Russell Station Tube stations and British Museum). Thank you Patrick and Alzira and any other staff we didn't have a chance to meet!!

Fantastic place to stay, was worried at first about security and keeping my things in the room while out exploring. Within two minutes of being there had no more worries about security the front door itself is locked with a locked inner door as well, the room itself had a lock on it that could be locked from the inside so that a key could not open it. The staff was amazing they were helpful and seemed happy to work here. I would 100% recommend staying here for anyone visiting london that wants a cheap safe place to stay that is close to everything in London.

Had everything available that you would need including day storage for bags, converters plugs, breakfast (toast & cereal), open kitchen for cooking, microwave & mini fridge in our room, study with computer & printer. Room was clean, receptionist was friendly and helpful. Overall great experience.

Comfortable and inexpensive accommodation available in the heart of London in a very safe neighborhood near The British Museum. I stayed in a 3 bed dormitory room with shared bathroom, however private rooms with attached baths are also available. Breakfast included in the room rent. 5 minutes walk to the Holborn station on the Piccadilly line. Decent paces to eat nearby.

Excellent location, just a short walk to Russell Square or Holborn tube stations. Walking distance to Covent Garden, West End, Soho, etc. Kings Cross/St Pancras or Euston stations are also walkable (20 mins) or a short hop on the tube. On an attractive, quiet street near the British Museum, with a public park at each end. There is a Sainsburys supermarket nearby (opposite Holborn tube). The London Review Cake Shop is also a few minutes walk from the hostel and highly recommended! Very basic rooms (bed, fridge, wardrobe, desk, washbasin) but excellent value for money for central London. Proper beds (no bunks) in small dorms, plus single, double and triple rooms. Very friendly and welcoming owners/managers. Self serve breakfast of toast, jam and cereals included in price as well as proper coffee (yay!) in a pleasant dining kitchen overlooking the rear gardens. Cosy residents lounge at the front of the building with lots of travel related books to read. Not a 'party hostel' at all - so older travellers on a budget will feel welcome here too. Beautiful old building, with some wear and tear but everywhere was very clean. Towels included, so no need to bring your own. A few minor improvements I would suggest - a light above the washbasin in the rooms, a towel rail/rack in the rooms and an online booking facility/availability calendar on the website. Overall an excellent choice for a small budget hostel in central London - great location and value for those who prefer a quieter and more homely hostel experience.

Very clean room and bathrooms. We spent all day sightseeing around London and it was nice to come back to a comfy bed. Breakfast was the standard fair of cereal, toast, coffee, milk, oatmeal. Filling enough to get the day started.

Alles bij elkaar genomen geen slecht verblijf genoten...
