Reviews of The City Of London Police Museum
The museum was really interesting. Small inside so won't take you too long to get around.
Very enjoyable to learn about the history of policing in London but a bit boring for the younger children if you are with families as there are not many activities for them. However it is a relatively small museum so it should be ok. You can try some outfits at the end and follow an audio guide around the museum.
It's one of the only police museums in London and offers a great experience. You learn about the City of London police before it started and right up to present day. They also offer audio guides which cannot be reserved so I suggest arriving early.
A hidden gem and a must-visit. It was literally empty when we came - we saw nobody else there. There were two lovely guides who showed us how the police used to communicate. Definitely go if you're in the area!
A tiny museum showcasing fragments of rich history of city of london police. Plus some interesting old artefacts, cases etc. The "super spotter" face recognition game was quite good! Worth a visit if you're near Guildhall.
Interesting look at London's history through the lens of the force responsible for The Square Mile. Unexpected highs (Olympic champions!) and lows (the Houndsditch murders) abound in the compact space, complemented by the free audio guides available at the entrance.
Very small museum but full of interesting displays and information. We'll worth a visit if you are in the area.
Small place, you'd miss the entrance if you weren't on foot! Fascinating insight and my particular favourite was the pictures that a Special Constable had taken after the blitz. Thankyou.
Cool little museum that you shouldn't miss. Like all London museums, it's free. It's inside an admin building. There's no check-in or anything like that. Just a converted large room. There are cool pieces of London history and it talks about events that defined how they operate. Cool place and will definitely recommend it. It takes around 30 minutes to go through everything.
A small museum about the world's smallest police force. Very interesting and informative.
And free. Big positive nice toliets.
Interesting little museum with some good exhibits and photographs, well worth popping into for half an hour if you are passing.
City of London Police Museum is a museum dedicated to the Police force in London. The museum shares the same building has that of the Guildhall Library. The museum charts the history of the London police from it;s very beginning as an ad-hoc group of glorified night watchmen to the professional force it is today. Some of the best known events associated with the force such as Jack the Ripper murders, terrorist bombings and riots are well-documented. There's also a good amount of information about different divisions of the modern police force such as dog handlers, mounted police, forensics etc.
There's a lot of written information, but for those who prefer to listen, there's free audio guides with commentary from current and former police officers. Nice to hear from first hand experience and a nice change from standard narrators.
The museum is nice and compact and it should be possible to get through it in under an hour. If visiting, do check the opening times. It's open every weekday, but not open every weekend.
Small but okay for what it was. It had some descriptive photos and a video or two. It was neat to try on and take photos with the different types hats.
Whats on display is interesting but they where formed 1839 so thought might have been abit more to it but passed half an hour and was free
Small place but full of details which are introducing the history of the city of London. The curator is such a nice guy and he knows even the smallest detail😍
Small museum but definitely worth a visit if you have 30 minutes spare.
Lovely small and free museum. The history of women in the police and police hats and helmets to try on are a lot of fun.
Very nice and interesting museum
Fascinating exhibits and story of City Police. Small space but rich history.
The quintessential museum in miniature. History as told through the lens of the guardians of The City. Worth a detour.
Tiny one room museum. Its ok for what it is if you are passing by, but I wouldn't recommend going into London for just visiting here.
Free experience, informative and interesting stories about the development in policing the smallest district in the world.
Although smallish I rather enjoyed this small museum located within the Guildhall building complex. The museum shows a brief history of the City of London police and presents several artifacts, objects. Worth a visit if in the area.
I liked it. Its quiet small, a great place to go during your lunch break.
Excellent little museum on the history of the police force. Free entry.
Quite small but full of fun facts and interesting historical information about the City of London police.
Nice little museum, just it's maybe a bit to small

We had a guided tour very good, very informative
Interesting small museum, free entry
A small museum filled with interesting information and artefacts of policing London over time.
Small, but cute. I enjoyed the test of face recognition.
Nice for a 10 minute break after a full day of serious business meeting in the city. Counterfeit money. Sadly no fake passports. Real murder weapons. Surprised to find a GuideID audio tour Company is from my home town Deventer. Works fine.
Interesting museum about the Metropolitan Police. Free Entry
Great little museum! Enjoyed it greatly.
Very small, but well informed for its history.
Very small but i enjoyed it very much
It's just two rooms. But still nice.
Very small worth a visit if you are at the guildhall
A small museum in the heart of London. I found it interesting.
Small, but an interesting museum
Very interesting worth a visit.
This is brilliant and the library is next door.
Very interesting museum , not very large but full of fascinating artifact's. The story of the London city police is told through the exhibits, we spent about an hour and quarter there.
Worth 1 hour especially if near Guildhall or London Museum
Very interesting museum.
Small museum with good exhibition
Interesting tiny museum.
Very interesting tour
Very disappointing small little to see
Not as big as we thought
E ok ! Free entertainment!
Extremely moving..loved it.
Great history of the London Police.
One of the many hidden gems scattered around in London. It's free and probably takes about 20mins to look around.
Small but informative
Excellent place. Worth a stop
Nice
Trade
Worth a visit
Interesting
Small, but very curious.
It is also not very busy and the people are charming.
They have a guide to help the little ones collaborate as little police officers.
Admission free. Very small museum but interesting. Free entry, small, but quite interesting
Small but interesting ✅
Small but nice, which certainly deserves a visit outside the traditional mold.
A small museum that is quick to visit and very informative on the history of the Police in the City
Not large in area, but made in the British style and very interesting!
Nice museum, very quick to navigate.
To be discovered on occasion.
I will describe this place in one word... WONDERFUL!!! Please visit it!!!
Small - fine and free entery
small but interesting exhibition, free entry
Good but rather short
Super
This is an amazing small museum for families.
Interesting for the adults. But the children found it hard to engage. They are definitely trying to cater for the children. But just didn't work for my kids. Sorry guys. But I would definitely visit again. Found it very interesting and I liked to hear the stories as you went around. I would recommend a visit.
A small, but interesting museum about the history of the City of London Police. We were all alone in the exhibition! And there is no admission fee!
We learnt that the City of London Police is a separate police force and not part of the Metropolitan Police. The exhibition shows also interesting facts about Suffragettes and Victorian murders.
