Two Temple Place is a magnificent building and is one of London's hidden architectural gems. Completed in 1895, this stunning neo-Gothic mansion was built for William Waldorf Astor, and is located near the Embankment, so beside the steep history the grand design of the building and the beautiful area it's situated is the great exhibitions they run and advertised in their website. I have thoroughly enjoyed the ceramic exhibition on about African women potters which finishes end of April. Proffesional helpful friendly staff and it's free which is an added bonus.

Amazing building and great art work on display, all free.
Don't arrive too late , ie 4pm as last entry is 4.30 and I arrived at 4pm and they promptly close at 4 45pm.

Happened upon this museum and spent an hour looking around the exhibition of African pottery. I had the say the building was as interesting as exhibition. The is a clay room at the end where children mould a few pieces. A fun thing to do out of the rain.

This building is a "must see"! We have enjoyed two visits there so far and will definitely be returning for another exhibit. The staff are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the building. The gift shop is a wonderful place to pick up some locally crafted gifts at very reasonable "gift shop" prices. A few main attractions, in my opinion, are the whimsical lampposts outside on the steps to the entrance, the stunning stained glass windows (lined with plush benches where you can sit to admire the details) and the wood panelling and carvings on the walls. Make sure to see this hidden gem on your next visit!

To be perfectly honest I was a little underwhelmed. Certainly the architecture is nice and the stained glass windows lovely. But the rooms are empty. I suppose I was hoping for old paintings on the walls, some period furniture and books on the bookshelves. A slow amble through all the rooms takes around 10-15 minutes.

An amazing neo-gothic building (Lord Astor’s baronial London offices) near the Law Courts, free to explore (when it’s open - do check in advance online) with beautiful stained glass windows, an imposing central staircase, superb decoration & carvings.
Friendly & knowledgeable guides were on hand in every room, which added to the experience.
The shop sells more detailed guides to the house, it’s history & contents, alongside an interesting range of lovely & unusual artisan-themed gifts - & there are occasional bookable tours.
I especially liked the unusual Nigerian pottery exhibition on at the moment, surprisingly showcased with very good explanatory boards, scattered about the opulent wood panelled rooms.
Having walked past this striking building for decades I was thrilled to be finally visiting the capital at a time it was open - it’s well worth a visit.

Always worth a visit to this lovely building. Small but beautiful with wonderful carved staircase. Free to enter.
