Lovely little 7km walk if you can manage to find your routed and have a good explore. Nice and flat so easy for all ages and types of walkers. The lighthouse is truly amazing small but built in the late 1800’s still Fully functioning. Very interesting and some nice views over the Severn estuary.

Nice peaceful nature walk, but close to power station and have to pay to park unless you park on the road where trucks go by.

A similar Lighthouse to Black Nore Lighthouse on the other side of the Bristol Channel but where the old power station has dumped the coal Ash the land has been built up and the bottom half of the Lighthouse is buried. Interesting place around there with the Netport wetlands centre.

Newport Wetland, RSPB, lovely walks and views. We never see any wildlife though, but we didn't had our binoculars with us. It's part of the coastal pathway. A pity the café was closed due to covid-19.

The east Usk lighthouse in the Newport Wetlands. A nice place for a walk if the weather is good. Plenty of wild birds and wildfowl to look at. Your get a great look at the Usk estuary. An easy walk to the lighthouse and the footpaths in the Wetlands are also easy. Nice cafe and parking was good on my visit. YoIf you walk the path to the west after you get to this lighthouse you can look over the river and observe the West Usk lighthouse which now is "a cosy bed & breakfast and small wedding venue" (taken from their website). Sat Nav did not get me to the wetlands using their post code, so look out for the directions on the roadsides.

The area around is exceptionally beautiful. Climbing the cliff was adventurous and unlocked new areas that you only see in video games like prince of persia. Truly beautiful place. A definite visit for a relaxing or adventurous time. Definite recommend. Parking space is available and its free.

Lovely spot. Small lighthouse originally build in the late 1800s (updated a few times since :) ) and marking the East side of the entrance to Newport docks. A relatively short walk from the RSPB visitor centre on accessible, flat, gravel paths. Great views of the estuary.

This is part of the RSPB wetlands bird sanctuary. It has measured walks and it's a lovely place to go on a suñny day. There is a cafe and toilets. There is a smaller lake right outside the cafe window, on which two swans currently have cygnets.

It's inside the local wildlife and wetlands trust reserve. It's a very small lighthouse, too small to go inside but a quite interesting information board next to it.

Love walking here, the paths are well defined and on a lovely evening you get stunning sunsets over the channel, lovely cafe and shop in the RSPB wetlands centre for a cup of hot chocolate after a lovely walk.whats not to love!! 😊

A great place for a walk, though beware if it's a windy day. Nice flat surface all the way round. I think there could have been a little bit more signage for first timers, but did eventually find our way back.

Park in the wetlands for a few pounds, enjoy the sights of the wetlands and a gentle stroll over the wobbly bridges, through the viewing areas to reach the coast. The lighthouse is a pretty landmark in a pretty place, surrounded by birds, water, and a nicely kept array of grasses and rushes. Enjoy!

Beautiful walk through the Newport Wetlands to the lighthouse. Awesome views across the Usk estuary. Can be breezy so dress accordingly.

Lovely place especially on a sunny day. Nice picnic spots, nice cafe, good facilities. Friendly staff. Lovely landscape quiet and peaceful. NOTE: don't forgot to get a token, it's 3 pounds from the machine by the shop to pop in the gate machine. Lovely place for a visit. Would return.

The walk to the lighthouse at the wetlands reserve was scenic and peaceful. We really enjoyed the beauty of the reserve and we will be coming back. At the cafe we ordered tea, coffee and cakes. The snack was great and the cashier was really lovely.

It's an old lighthouse on the seawall within the RSPB wetlands reserve. Well worth the short walk on good paths from the cafe. The view over the salt flats and beach over the Severn is great. If you are feeling slightly energetic walk a little further along the coastal footpath either way. Great spot for spotting birds if the is your thing.

Lively walk through Newport Wetlands. Park at the Wetlands and enjoy the number of different routes around the Wetlands. Parking costs £3 for all day, just make sure you get a token from the main building before leaving.
