I loved this venue. Set in caves it had a really authentic feel and set the mood as you descended the stairs. The puzzles were really cool, interesting and in keeping with the theme. The staff were friendly and inviting. A great experience.

Really enjoyable. We did the Monuments Cave, which is a WWII theme. Becky was our host and she was very friendly. The puzzles were well pitched, being hard but not too hard. Becky also mentioned a train themed escape room that's opening soon - I'll be going to that as and when it opens up.

Myself and my girlfriend tried Cave Escape today and had a blast. We’d never tried an escape room before but from the moment we walked through the door we were greeting with smiley faces and great energy. Imogen was fantastic and really made the experience for us, thank you! The rooms themselves were great, we got into it after a few mins and started to think outside the box. The clues were great, really made us think and work as a unit. It’s defiantly great fun and we’ll definitely be doing more. Keep up the good work guys!

An absolutely brilliant and fun experience… Our games master was Laura… what a lovely lady… she explained everything very clearly and made us feel completely comfortable… I’ll be recommending it to many of my friends and members of my family and we will definitely be doing the other room.

Of all the escape rooms I've done, the Monuments Men room was by far the best. The types of puzzles were varied and challenging and our helping hand from our commanding officer was exciting to receive within the theme! Sad we didn't escape, although we were very close. I would love to forget the room so I could visit and try again!

Brilliant escape room; enjoyed every part of it, and every puzzle. Puzzles were different from the usual, and went with the theme well (which was executed effectively). Host, Chris, was fab - supportive and a real guiding hand. Giving prompts when needed, but not too many or too much. Perfect.

Great fun coming here, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very challenging but didn’t make you feel stupid or like you couldn’t solve it! Three generations (ages 13, 48, 49 and 68) had a fabulous time in the Carfax room with our lovely host Imogen. It was fun and pitched perfectly in difficulty for our first escape room. Escaped in 58:29 with a few handy hints from the ghostly assistant.

You're in an actual cave!! How cool is that!? It adds to the themes of both rooms so well, the whole atmosphere is fantastic. Both rooms are really detailed and so in depth you forget you're in an escape room!

This was a first visit to any escape room and it was very enjoyable! Our host Imogen was extremely helpful, funny and welcoming! I was initially sceptic as to whether I would enjoy somthing like this but I was pleasantly surprised! Would reccomend the Monuments room. We just scraped success with minutes to spare which added to the feeling of triumph and everyone in our group agreed that it was a fantastic way to spend an evening!

Recently visited Cave Escape with my partner. The attention to detail in the venue is brilliant and something we appreciate. From the moment we stepped through the main entrance it felt atmospheric which provides for an immersive experience that we look for and enjoy. Played Carfax and it was a very good room. Harry was a great host and we really enjoyed the extra sound effects he added during the game - it gives the impression that the host is interested and paying attention throughout. Really liked the building and the cave entrance to the room is fab. Great room, theming and flow. Lots of clever physical puzzles and exactly what we look for when we play escape rooms. Hope to be back to conquer the other rooms.

Absolutely superb escape room. We took on the Carfax room, which is incredibly immersive and well designed. (And also not scary/no jump scares if you don't like that sort of thing). Won't give anything away, but some of the puzzles were truly unique and we were super impressed throughout. Can't wait to come back. Also a shout out to our gamesmaster, who was amazing and helped shape the whole experience from start to end. (We think Chris, but we were too exciteble to remember, apologies!)

I booked this for my daughters 14th birthday. They had an amazing time, the venue is fabulous, staff were so welcoming and friendly. Really catered for the group so well. Girls did a WW11 room and thoroughly enjoyed!!! Would recommend to all ages and will be going back with family too!!!

Me and my husband completed the Carfax room with only 48 seconds to spare! This was my second escape room and my favourite so far. My husband, who has done many more, was absolutely certain that this was his favourite too. Our host was absolutely fantastic and the venue itself is super atmospheric - all the way from when you arrive through to the end. The puzzles were great and the overall experience was really fun. Would highly recommend it. Definitely a couple of tricky elements but made sense with hindsight. We really appreciated the occasional gentle nudge from the host to steer us in the right direction. Would love to return with a few more people to try and complete the monuments room. Masks are still mandatory throughout of course so come prepared

We went with friends at the weekend and played the Carfax room, it was brilliant! The host was extremely welcoming, the attention to detail was amazing, with more than one room in the game. The puzzles were difficult but not completely impossible and there was a whole range of different conundrums to solve. This was by far one of the best escape rooms I have done in Nottingham. A very scenic and well run place. Hands down the best escape room I've done for a while. The organisers of the room were accommodating and detailed into the back story of our Monuments escape room which we managed to do with a minute left. Highly recommended and we had such a great time👌👍

Been meaning to go to this place since it opened a few years ago. Finally made it this evening and can’t believe we waited so long!!! The team are super nice, the escape room (Carfax) was brilliant and all the clues/ props and concepts were brilliant. Thoroughly recommend it!

Really thematic escape venue. We were the last slot on a Friday night but we still got the host's full attention. We did the Monument room which is rated as hard and (the host told us afterwards) the escspe rate is quite low. It's quite a big room in several sections, and we did it as a group of six. I think it's more balanced for four but scales pretty well to a big group. There's a section where they split you up so it would not suit a pair as-is, but I think they could change it to make it work. The setting of an Austrian salt mine really works with the real-world underground space, and the puzzles and some period props fit in with it perfectly. The puzzle variety is also really good, well beyond the "series of four-digit padlocks" that were the mainstay of the early escape rooms. Overall, I'd recommend it for experienced escapers or a new team that wants a challenge.

The was an amazing experience. As an escape room, I'm finding it hard to remember a better one. We did the cave and it was a great challenge. The environment meant that no sound came in from the outside world which added to the story and feel. We've been to many that were hard for the sake of being hard but this was a challenge but we never felt it was punishing. And we were very lucky to do it in time

It was quite fun but I didn’t think it was worth the price. It costs just over £30pp.

Room has just reopened post-lockdown, the team have made a real effort to make it as safe as possible for players and we were very happy with the measures in place. We played Carfax - loved the theme/story and it was very well executed. We will definitely be back at some point to play Monuments.

Me and my best friend went to Cave Escape today. It was our first time ever going to any escape room so we had no idea how it all works and what to expect. The lady who was our escape room guide was very lovely, she welcomed us and and explained to us very well what we had to do. I highly recommend this escape room for beginners or anybody in general. Even thought we didn’t end up finishing in Time lol we still had such a good first time experience and such a lovely time, they also sent us our photo a few hours later via text which was lovely. I highly recommend. Thank you to the lovely lady who gave us an amazing experience and time at Cave escape, will definitely come again.

This was our first escape room experience. Venue is really well set out, from the moment you step in you begin to feel immersed in the games theme. We did the CALFAX (Dracula) experience and although we didn’t complete it in time, it was a lot of fun. Staff member/narrator (sorry dude can’t remember your name, possibly Nick) was really friendly and explained how the game works really well. Would 100% recommend going here, will be giving the WWII room a go next.

Having done a few escape rooms I think this one is brilliantly done and one of the most enjoyable! The game flowed well and kept the team working together. The people that run it are really friendly and genuinely happy for us to have completed the challenge. Definitely excited to come back and try the other upcoming rooms! Took us a few attempts to figure things out and there is plenty of help for if you get stuck. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole experience. I've done a few escape rooms now so I've started to expect a certain standard for them to be enjoyable. Carfax at Cave Escape was excellent! I have to admit, I had lower expectations given that rival company Escapologic in Nottingham are so good, but they have done such a good job with this. The lobby area as you enter is brilliantly fitted out and the chap who lead our group was really personable and friendly (sorry I've forgotten his name!) The room itself was on the easier side of difficulty - our time was 41 mins - but there were some challenging aspects. Overall, a really good experience and I'm looking forward to them opening their next room!

A very unique Escape Room from an amazing Indy Escape company. Highly recommended to me and I am so glad we found the time to fit this in during our last trip to Nottingham. Accessibility is not great for people with mobility problems. As the name implies, it is in a cave. Access to the room (and emergency evac) is via a steep set of stairs. Staff were kind and patient while I took my time, and offered to pause timer to bypass a physically challenging doorway so I could be taken around a more accessible route - but it really isn’t suited to wheelchairs. Was a nice mix of physical, mental and logic puzzles. We would have done better is we spent more time searching properly... 😕

Absolutely fantastic. Fun puzzles with an incredibly high quality finish. I felt like I was really below deck on a sailing ship. Plus it really is in a cave!

Did this as a couple and escaped within 50 minutes. Needed a few of the clues as we got stuck a number of times but a great escape room. Themed around Dracula and set in a cave, a different experience to some of the other options.
