D. P.Our local gallery. Local artists with soul. It’s spacious, the second floor has a magnificent illumination to enjoy art made in Nottingham. If you want to have a sense of what this means or what it may mean/ feel for you, try to go there and appreciate yourself the local artistic scene through the eyes and heart of the team running the Surface Gallery. Hope you will leave feeling better than the person you entered. Come with an open heart and attentive eyes/mind for your soul to meet the art there.
D. F.Great little venue, interesting work on here. A little outside the city proper, the other side of Sneinton market - there is sometimes a bus parked in front of it which makes it hard to see. There’s another, larger gallery space upstairs that is also sometimes used, don’t forget to check up there if the current exhibition overflows into it. It’s two floors up past a kitchen sink - the first floor has studio space. Been to a couple of opening events here and they’ve always been pleasant experiences. Manned by Surface staff Tues-Sat but you may find it open on the other days too, e.g. for the NTU photography degree show the students are invigilating on the Sunday and Monday.

Run by volunteers who do everything in relation to the gallery day-to-day running, setup and invigilating. Creating a very special place for the community. Keep up the good work!
N. H.While the exhibition wasn't really to my taste I thought the space was nice and the gentleman at the door was very informative an helpful an raised some interesting points while we were talking. I would definitely go back to see what was on if I was in the area again.
J. T.I have an exhibition in the upstairs part of the gallery at the moment and it’s a very nice location to show work as well as the staff are very helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend getting involved with the gallery.
