The history and the energy of the place is amazing. I've never been before, I have seen pictures. I'm not keen on what they have done by chopping all the surrounding trees. Hopefully this is part of a bigger plan to restore the site.

Beautiful place to visit. Make sure you are respectful to the little village and you will be fine to park near the school or church.

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING barely any trees left two to be precise I also updated the pictures for others to see very sad.

Edited review 01/08/2022 after viewing the site when paragliding at fair snape fell. The offending trees have now all been removed & it looks like a place worth visiting again.

Bleasdale Circle appears to me to have been constructed in a very carefully thought out quiet location and really has quite an aura about it. Whilst stood in the inner circle I turned around to find that a lone ruminating sheep had appeared out of nowhere very near and fearlessly staring at me when they have always run away.

Following storms, many of the trees have been cut back so you get a better impression of the circle, though the concrete posts that replaced the wooden ones (now in the Harris Museum in Preston), don't give an idea of hight

Deeply historic feel to it. A shame that the local authority doesn't take more care and maintenance over such a site of local and national importance. Definitely worth a visit.

Ancient monument in a beautiful setting. The only downside is the moderate neglect of the site, overgrown and with some difficulties in gaining access.

Quite atmospheric, though the original wooden posts have been replaced by unobtrusive concrete stubs. Good for sitting and contemplating.

Nice little walk

This place needs a clear out. Bronze age monument covered in tree's that have been blown over. Shame.

Very evocative.
