Reviews of New Forest Wildlife Park
Found this site whilst on holiday in the local area. We arrived mid Feb when our schools were on half term but quickly found out that the local schools didn't break up until a week later, this did mean some attractions were not open so we had to hunt around to find places to go. We luckily found this site and in so glad we did. The site is a fair size but not to big. We did a couple of laps so we could see things at different times. The harvest mice were very active around lunch time. The site is well laid out and the animals have large enclosures with both indoor and out door sides. Some animals can be a bit elusive but that's the same in any park. We stopped and had lunch and the food was very good even had Costa coffee machines which was great. Overall price for admission and food was very reasonable. I don't mind paying for food and the gift shop if the admission fee is reasonable. Larger zoos annoy me when it costs over £100 just to get in and then the food is over priced and then you have to try an negotiate the kids through the exit without getting stung again by the gift shop. I know larger zoos have higher operating costs and are trying to recover from covid but I've found smaller sites to be better and actually get to see more so we'll done to this site for hitting the right balance.
Amazing place. Not to expensive tickets to get in, and really lovely area. Lots of animals well cared for, good animal talks and feeds so you can know more about the animal, and just a lovely place. Nice gift shop, and it has a cafe if you want to eat there, or picnic tables dotted about if you want to bring a picnic. Clean, friendly and would recommend! I've been there many times, it's very calming and I love seeing the animals, especially the otters!
Great day out with kids. Two lovely playgrounds and a sandpit. Most of animals were out so could observe them and take pictures. Plenty of free parking, shop, cafe and toilets. Also several picnic tables if you wish to bring your own snacks. We were very satisfied with what we have seen and definitely will be back again.
Very cute place for a visit. Went there for the otters mainly and was not disappointed! In the hot weather it was actually pleasant in the park, plenty of shade and places to sit down. Ticket allows you to reenter in the same day after leaving the which is also a plus - easy way to pop out to have a bite and then go back.
10/10 amazing attractions- so many animals- managed to see a lynx how exiting!! Lovely staff very helpful and kind
Love that you can spend the whole day there and walk around as many time as you like ! It’s so worth it. These are just some of the many animals there I mostly took videos.
Wonderful place to visit. Plenty of animals to see and good facilities around the park.
Took us 3 times but we finally spotted one of the lynxes! Happy to have learned there is one species of owl (Eurasian Eagle Owl if in not mistaken, incredible 2m wing span) that is a predator to foxes. Kind of insane when you think about it..
it was a great walk around, plenty to see and price was around average. at points it wasn't socially distanced if that's a concern for you, especially around points handlers interacted with the animals for an audience but otherwise it is a good day out.
Lovely place, wonderful friendly informative staff and the whole park is very affordable down to even the gift shop, food and entrance fees. Highly recommended a visit. Good picnic areas too and plenty of kids play equipment.
Lovely little park. Such a variety of animals all well cared for with large enclosures. We were able to see nearly everything there out and about showing natural behaviour. Lots of money invested in the new deer walkthrough. Lovely to see the animal rehabilitation programmes too. The keepers knew their stuff :)
Had a lovely day. The park is in a beautiful setting and, having visited a few years ago, it is obvious that improvements are being made. The animals seem well cared for and the keepers are more than happy to spend time answering your questions and giving information. You can get close to deer and wallabies as long as you stick to the path. All other animals can be seen quite well as there are various viewpoints in/out of the enclosures and even in the dark to view badgers and fox's while they sleep in the earth. Couple of lovely adventure playgrounds and a few coin operated rides for little ones. Nice little cafe with seating in and outside and a souvenir shop. I didn't notice any wheelchairs for hire but it's always worth enquiring first. The terrain wasn't too bad with pathways covered mainly in bark. The highlight was watching the animals being fed. Well worth a visit with or without kids in tow. You can take dogs although you are limited to certain areas.
