Reviews of Hackpen Hill
M. B.
Sitting in the roof of North Wiltshire I like to Get up and visit at all times of day as with each hour the light changes with the view. Beautiful serene and soul nourishing

Sunrise and Sunset...its glorious to watch from here, but in good weather its nice for walks as the Ridgeway runs across it, about a mile one way is Barbary Castle and the other, after some 7-8 miles, is the A4 at West Kennet. Just before that, the Ridgeway has a side turning, about a mile down that is Avebury.

I often stop on the way home at this location, just to chill for 20 mins. Wonderful view, green fields, small coppice, and oodles of fresh air. A short walk away from the road, and your in quiet peaceful surroundings, only noises are the sky larks and the wind in the trees and grasses.
C. A.
Beautiful and stunning views! It can be windy, so take care. Worth going there!
d. m.

My go-to place to recharge my life battery . You can look down on our bit of the planet from here , and it never fails to lift the spirits .
I've spent a fair amount of time looking down from mountains in my time , and this is Wiltshire's version . Grand vistas , and with skylarks whirling and hovering overhead providing glorious musical accompaniment , there is no better place . Go there ! And take a short stroll into prehistory by walking the ancient Ridgeway along to Barbury Castle , one of our finest hillforts . It can't fail to leave you feeling uplifted .
D. S.
Gorgeous views, peaceful and relaxing. Car park is small and fairly busy.

Just a really lovely place to walk, hike and cycle with some outstanding views. One of the less well known white horses, but still a nice landmark to wander down and have a look at. Limited parking and a bit of a dodgy turn into the car park on the left hand side when you come up the hill, but otherwise a great place to get some fresh air.
P. G.
Great crop circle . Fantastic actually getting to go into one . Lovely area for other sites close by
G. L.
Middle of nowhere, well Swindon on the horizon, but we'll forgive that. Pleasant walk through the low cloud over to Barbury Castle. 1.6m there and 1. 9m back as we did a quick detour around the hill Fort. Very invigorating and a very pleasant afternoon.
M. P.
Lovely walk. Loads of space to keep distanced and family and dog friendly.
m. C.
A wonderful walk along the Ridgeway on a cold blustery day during "lockdown" with my wife and daughter.

Gorgeous view point, there was a couple having their wedding photos taken there when we visited 😍 information about the Uffington horse 🐎 and what can be seen. Small amount of parking available.
K. H.

J. H.
Marvellous views from this section of the Ridgeway. Beautiful and uplifting.
A. M.
Very pretty and much fun. There were great views, a little car park and some signs. A toilet is 30 mins ish walk away (in another car park) which was a bit unsavoury but did the job.
n. w.
Gorgeous views. Recent work done inverted of the Ridgeway west of the hill which make it more enjoyable to use.

Lovely views. Stopped off for a sandwich with a view in the motorhome. You can walk along the Ridgeway Path to one of the many white horses in Wiltshire.
