A must stop in Edinburgh. I had known the shop for a long time through the online platform, but I was delighted to visit it locally - and the experience was not disappointing: the staff is extremely friendly and attentive, they have a huge panoplia of records, books, memorabilia and t-shirts that promise to delight all music fans. Better still: I asked them to save a record for me days in advance, by email, and it was there waiting for me when I arrived. Thanks for everything and see you next time!

The best record store in Scotland! Not huge but a well curated range, super friendly staff and they also have a really good reward scheme. I also use their website which has an extended range. They also do great limited editions, signed copies and run in store live events. Can't recommend this record shop highly enough!

Wonderful an idyll for the vinyl enthusiast. Got some excellent albums from back in the day and a book on reggae. Think will by a new fancy turntable to get best out of albums. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Amazing. Have bought multiple vinyl records here, including Kanye, Tyler, The Creator and King Crimson. Staff are friendly. A great selection of vinyls, with a wide variety of genres, from funk to experimental ambient. Definitely the record store to go to if you are in Central Edinburgh.

Lovely shop, great to see another music shop occupies the site that for many years was the excellent McAllister Matheson Music. The ship is immaculate, spotless and a pleasure to browse with friendly staff on hand ready to help. Pricewise, they're as you should expect for a city centre store specialising in vinyl in 2022. That said however, they've some great offers (check online too, some terrific deals on their website as well as in-store), and many of the albums are in the sub-£20 price range. Sure, the deluxe editions are there and cost more, but I didn't feel like I was priced out of my options. Highly recommended and if you order online, they deliver quickly and the goods are well packed.

Was struggling to find a specific release of a vinyl, found it online with Assai. Arrived within 2 days, perfectly packaged and safe and sound. Such a lovely place. So many record shops feel elitist and unwelcoming but this place is full of light and kindness. The points scheme is also a great idea. Pity I’m only here on holiday otherwise I’d be back in all the time.

What a great shop. I was rediscovering vinyl and Dominic was super helpful. Bought one of their devices and about 3 trips later I had a great start to collection. Great range and advice, avoid Amazon and buy at shops like this. The advice and experience alone is worth the cost of the difference, if there is any.

This is a record shop of fairy standard vinyl, apart from when you up the back and look at the electronic, experimental vinyl, but for me it's somewhere I am not over to bothered about. Sad, as we could do with a great record shop, sadly for me this is not it. Thanks.

My new favourite record shop! A great selection, at *really* reasonable prices, and extremely friendly, knowledgeable & helpful staff. They also have a very good rewards scheme; think HMV's 'Pure' scheme, but actually worth bothering with (as opposed to the total waste of time that HMV is). They have an online store, too. What more do you need?

Crazy good, as a novice trying to get into the game Assai Records is the perfect place to start. Records are separated into genre and they even have Assai recommends which has been absolutely banging so far. Love them and will continue getting all my records from them!
