F. E.Came here for the specials album signing and it was great. Bloke with glasses and beard was nice to me all day as I kept popping in to check what was going on lol. Then at the event the security guards were nice and jolly. Especially the woman with a red poppy landyard who told me she used to be a skin head and was manning the que she was ace. I have been to signings before and the staff have been horrendous yet this one was amazing, what a nice team of staff!!!!!!!

D. C.My favourite store in all of London! As an avid moviefan this is the place to be for classics, foreign and boutique label blurays and dvd's. They also have an aisle of Hollywood titles, but you come here for the more obscure stuff. Prices are more than fair and their inventory is huge. Relatively small store, but I can spend hours browsing here and clean out my whole wallet.

Sadly, HMV in Bond Street is no more. I don't know when it closed down, but it's the end of an era. Sure, there are a few HMV shops around in London and I'll have to Google them in due course... Anyway, there's Fopp of Covent Garden, which is a cousin of HMV.
Fopp is a wonderful store for DVD/Blu-ray, CDs/Vinyl, Books/Comics, and more! There are always bargains to be had. Yes, I know that things have gone Online Digital Streaming, but I still like to own a decent movie or two. Also, I can't say I'm a fan of the likes of iTunes as I prefer to purchase music that I really love, digitise them to MP3 and store them on My smartphone/tablet. That way, I can control the quality of the MP3's that I create.
The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Some of them are Positive Geeks that can tell you a lot of interesting info you didn't know regarding a movie, for example.
Last night, I bought the sequel to Iron Sky - hilarious true independent movie - and a gift for a friend. My purchase was so very cost effective. I'll keep visiting Fopp to keep it open for a long time to come! Oh! I forgot to mention that I saw none other than Jason Momoa, Aquaman, one night (in Fopp)! He's quite a tall guy!
Fopp is the go to store for all things media - including electronics! I ♥️ Fopp!

e.great place to buy your cds and vinyls and other musical memorabilia in central london and at an affordable price as well. the stock had what i looked for and was well maintained. everything was put in alphabetical order so it was easy to find! on the ground floor you'll find the latest released music but if you go up the stairs, you'll find music from just about any artist - both in cd and vinyl, not sure about cassette. the below ground floor sells dvds and books, also ordered well. they sell anime dvds for any anime fans looking for somewhere to buy things like that. loads of genres and lots to choose from, and the staff are really sweet and happy to help, this shop's a very lucky find!

Centrally located (Covent Garden/Cambridge Circus), it's conveniently situated en route to the West End, Soho and Theatreland.

However, upstairs they were playing the worst kind of jazz imaginable.
It sounded like someone having their appendics out whilst some else tried playing a tenor saxophone as they were tumbling down a stone staircase.
I can't excuse this so have deducted one star for this unacceptable behaviour on what was an otherwise enjoyable shopping experience 😃

The Basement is allocated to DVD'S and Blu Ray divided into various genres. The First Floor sells records with 50% of the area dedicated to vinyl. There are always special offers available.

FOPP is fabulous at this: they have all year promos of 2 books for £5 and great new reads at a lovely reduced price. On top of that, they also have music and films, and a wide variety to suit anyone's tastes. I often find myself there; either to get new stuff, to buy a gift or taking other people there and spreading the word on this awesome place. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and more than ready to get anything you need. Their tote bags are phenomenal, and a must buy. Absolutely recommend and adore.

k. f.This place is great. I go at least once a week. DVD’s are hard to come by, gives the loss of Virgin Record Store and HMV. You can find classic movies and up to date stuff at reasonable prices. The location is perfect, opposite THE CURSED CHILD play on Cambridge Circus? Great books also, and now a serious collection of vinyl music. Staff and punters are well chilled. Gets crowded @5 pm. More nuanced film stuff downstairs. Check it out, then go for a coffee in Fabrique across the street. Leister Square tube nearest.
C. O.If you need a book, cd, DVD or vinyl at a reasonable price, this is the place to go. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. It's mainstream in comparison to Sister Ray, Honest John's and other independent record stores, but definitely worth a visit.
P. J.I visit practically every week. Great, friendly, helpful staff, a fantastic array of DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K discs, Vinyl and an eclectic range of books - all at very competitive prices. People should shop here, it almost closed this time last year - I am so happy it was rescued as part of the HMV deal. Truly a case of one realising how much it means to you when it nearly went. I will always buy stuff at Fopp in preference to online, when the price range matches or as is often the case is actually cheaper than a certain jungle-themed competitor. Physical media may be on the wane, but you can help support it here and if Saturdays are anything to go by, this store has a good future ahead of it.

S. H.The BEST place in the west end to pick up entertainment product in the West End, if it’s in print they most likely have it, from obscure foreign movies to extreme horror, art-House to animation. Shop entry is a mix of everything, lower ground is the movie zone with large sections on horror and foreign movies. Up to level 1 (technically the third level) and you have mainly music. Great customer service, great prices, easily found just a couple of minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road or Leicester Square station. One of those shops you can rarely leave without buying something.

O. A.FOPP is a off-shoot of HMV Stores and is based in Covent Gardens near Theatreland in the West End. It specialises in Vinyl Records, CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays of classic, foreign and Modern films of all genres.
The store has a wide range of music selection to choose from. From the past 60 year to the present in different musical genres. From Pop to Hip-hop, Jazz to Country, Soul to Rock. They also specialize in up and coming indie bands. The store sell novels and non-fiction books at a discount, two books for a fiver. The basement of the store is sometime used for live performances for new acts.
I would urge both customers and fans ofthe store to try and patronize both FOPP and HMV to save them from bankruptcy. The HMV chain is going through a very rocky period right now and needs all the goodwill and patronage of its customers if it is to survive.
For customers who still love CDs, Vinyls and Blu-Rays, despite the popularity of streaming services like Netflix. It would be a great loss to see them close down for good.

For example, we've had to return a Shrek DVD set a few months after we've bought it, as we just found out the 4th disk had some issues. We brought the receipt, and Ceri was very understanding and actually acknowledged the issue with the packaging. It was a zero-hassle exchange process. Also we were assisted on many other occasions by the friendly staffs over there.

A. N.Usually has great deals and recently started stocking the Criterion Collection blu rays for UK release. Packed with super cheap dvds, especially cult classics. The lower floor has an extensive range of cinema, the ground floor is a mix of music, movies and books. Check in front of the cash desks for major discounts on some dvds and blu rays.

X. W.A more left field take on a music and video shop. I think they were bought out by HMV which is a shame as it's evolved into a slightly more trendy version of the standard box-churner. The Fopp in Manchester is outstanding and this one is a bit of a disappointment by comparison, but still well worth a visit. Check out the collection of random and cool films downstairs. There's a good variety of anime, world cinema and arthouse films. The book selection is quite good too.

B. S.My request would be if you could have more films with Spanish subtitles. Spanish is the second major language so this should be a priority considering you have films in Icelandic and other languages that are only spoken in one country. Spanish is spoken in 21 countries. I have sometimes to buy on Amazon US for films dubbed or subtitled in Spanish and it would be a lot better if I can do here in this store that I really like and is local to where I live.
