One of the few record shops left. Terrific range of records always in stock . Let’s hope that the classical basement is soon reopened. It is irreplaceable

Comprehensive stock of older vinyl. I frequent the 1st floor - soul, funk, reggae and other dance music. Look out for the reduced labels, you can pick up some teal bargain. Be prepared to put in the time thumbing through categories of interest for maximum rewards!

Great staff and excellent selection of Music CD's, Blu ray's and Vinyl records of ALL genres . Being near Notting Hill / Holland Park , the area is always busy. Parking is best in side streets were the cost is lower than on the main road. But if you use public transport, you can take time to shop and browse. Take your old media there to trade and restock with media you always wanted but couldn't find. A must visit place for any music or film buff ( or ex DJ )

Excellent for dance and stock is correctly priced. Staff ensure you check any non bargain bin buys to avoid getting home anything scratched. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Vintage shop for used vinyl records, CDs but also they have DVDs and some Blurays. A really decend selection of music on three levels. Collectible expensive editions locked behind glass. Unfortunately they don't have a database where you could search, therefore you have to do a manual search. Depending on your interests, you can easily spend a lot of time here. I always have a look when i'm in the area. Conditions varies from near mind to distinct signs of use (e.g. scratches on CDs). The used CDs have a fair price, with a bit of luck and time you can find your favorites. Definitive recommend.

Unfortunately (but perhaps unsurprisingly) the basement department has gone, taking almost all of the classical CDs with it. There's now only a handful of mostly recent releases on the ground floor, which is otherwise unchanged - so the general Rock/Indie range is as good as it was a couple of years ago. Rather thin selection of Jazz upstairs. CD prices are on the whole pretty fair but for me, after 30 years of visiting, the shop is no longer worth a special detour.

Reading the reviews, it seems like little has changed since the early 90's, when I was a regular customer, and even went to a job interview there - I got offered the job (even though my knowledge of the Byrds was a bit lacking), but the minimum wage offer even then - (when it wasn't half as expensive to live somewhere within commute distance) made me get a proper job, somewhere on an industrial estate in the suburbs. Staff attitude (then at least), was I'm unhappy in this minimum wage job, in this hip place, so I'm going to make you feel small, as you are not as hip as me... I guess it's worse now...

I love old music shops, the smell of vinyl just hits you as soon as you walk in here. The shop assistant was very friendly and polite, happy to help and let me look through the vinyls before leaving with them to ensure I was happy. Will definatly buy from here again when I'm next in the area.

Fantastic store. Multi-level, grungy and full of awesome second hand vinyl. It is absolutely chockers and very reasonably priced. There is a lot to see so you do need to spend a fair bit of time rummaging through the records. I found it particularly good for old country and 50s rock, but there is a bit of everything.

Great second-hand record shop. Old-school style, no frills but a mountain of vinyl to choose from and a good turn over of stock. I visit regularly and there's always interesting stuff to consider. We'll ordered too.

I visited London for a brief 3 day trip, but I had so much fun in this store, browsing an incredibly diverse record collection and finding some very unique finds in all formats! A nice mix of Vinyls, singles, CDs, DVDs and even tapes, which I was pleasantly surprised to find. I visited just on opening time and already there was quite a few customers I assumed were regulars. Prices were very reasonable and in the end I was very satisfied with my purchases. The guy at the cashier was so friendly and helpful, and it felt like he was happy to be there. And with good reason! This is a store worth stopping by if you love collecting music and are hoping to find things you don't tend find in your usual record store! The only complaint I had was the bargain rack above the vinyls in the middle- I found it difficult to look through the CDs as they were quite high for the type of shelf they were packed in. Otherwise, the layout of this store is great. Give it a visit!

The place sells rather good quality vinyl though you have to pick your albums first before you can actually see the records themselves as they put them behind the counter. Probably for safety measures i guess. They rate their albums quite okay i guess as i am not an expert and coming from Malaysia where the ratings are ridiculous. One thing of a downer is where you cannot haggle or make deals on the albums as they stated clearly on the signage behind the counter.

I used to go to M+VE in Soho and Camden. This is the first time I've been to this one, and whilst maybe being a bit on the 'compact' side, I can easily spend a lunchtime having a decent browse. And for what's it's worth, I'd much rather search in a store for vinyl than go online and order it - it takes away the excitement of the hunt.

I have bought records from this shop for several years and one thing I have noticed recently is that the prices are much higher even when the quality of the records are clearly poor. I don't believe in paying £4 for a 40 plus old LP that is scratched and in poor condition. Overall it's not a bad record shop Just be prepared to pay a bit more for an old record.

Traded in maybe 150 cds and 50 vinyl which Reckless Records weren't interested in so, to be honest, I was just glad they'd take them off my hands. Have yet to spend the credit note but, given the quality selection they hold, am very much looking forward to it.

Very well organised and with an impressive stock of vinyl and CDs. Just be aware of the returns policy: it is more like trading in your purchase so you will lose about 33% of what you paid. Better to be sure that you mean to keep what you buy.

Very large selection, though MC Chill,s LP with writing on a worn cover for £17.00 was a bit steep and they didnt wanna budge although I bought an arm full. Went back the next day to exchange a purchase that wasnt labelled as Repress(although I think it slipped through the net to be honest as their labelling was otherwise accurate)and I had a hard time swapping it, was even told brusquely "Well,this time but never again". "I live 200 miles away so there isnt much chance" replied I. However when im in London next I will make a beeline there as the stock is impressive.

I went down the weekend between Xmas and the new year and picked up some bargains from the top floor disco section for a pound I not been in years still a good store shame there is not as many like they used to be good ground floor classical music on the basement floor and the ground floor has excellent goods post Xmas five stars for good service
