J. M.Great store. The only negative reviews are from boomers upset about being expected to wear a mask. Honestly, even if you don't think they make any difference in a confined internal space, it really doesn't take much to be courteous and wear one for 5 minutes whilst you're inside. They're the tiniest inconvenience. Grow up.

This place gets tons of credit for having some pretty serious listening stations. There's about 6 stations and they even have an e-listening station if the turntables are taken. They're keen on letting you hear the records you may buy, which is underappreciated for a record shop.

R.Pretty good selection of records. The stuff behind the counter is where it's at. Mainly seem to specialize in a variety of house and techno vibes. My one criticism is that they need to upgrade their headphones and maybe re-solder the headphone jack output on the amp as my listening experience was sub par. Make the listening experience awesome, people will buy more records.

They always have great stuff playing on the mammoth speakers, it’s worth heading in to see what they have on and sticking around for a bit. I’ve bought many records they’ve had playing randomly on the decks - it’s a good discovery technique!
Their back wall is the stuff of dreams.
Always friendly and knowledgable staff there to help you out. Lucy has been particularly great on my previous visits.

I have been a regular customer for many years and have always found the staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Always an excellent selection of the latest music available in store and online. Only a shame they can not open a shop nearer to home in Somerset!

G.Iconic store but a bit overrated in my opinion. There are way better shops in Paris like Syncrophone or the old Subwax in BCN etc. You can only listen to six records per day of their old stock but you can listen to the new arrivals as much as you want. So it’s not really a place to dig for stuff. I also asked the guy for recommendations and he picked some weird stuff that didn‘t really fit the style of records that i asked him before. The vibe was also not the best at the day i was there...

Turntables are available to listen to tunes - all day if necessary - before deciding on purchases. It's possible to find almost any tune here, though occasionally titles have to be ordered . . Highly recommended

L.Phonica is a top quality record store. They sell a great selection of electronica and I believe they sell the best selection of techno, tech and house in London. The shop has a good layout and plenty of turntables to listen to vinyl on, plus if there aren’t any free (during busy times like lunchtimes) all the vinyl on the shop floor (not new stuff behind he counter) is available to listen to on an iPad which is super helpful.
The staff at Phonica are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about the tunes they are selling. They figure out pretty quickly what you like and make awesome recommendations! Often I have left the shop with only what they recommended which is a sign that they listen to you and genuinely want you to leave with the sort of music you love.
With many vinyl shops closing please support this fabulous store buy buying a few tunes each week. Thanks Phonica!

C. M.If you are a vinyl collector and are looking for underground electro, look no further. I consider myself quite the connoisseur, but I was completely baffled by the amount of records there I had never ever heard of.
The system is very cool, you pick a few sleeves (no records in the bins) and ask the staff to listen to them. They'll get you the records and assign you a turntable and headphones to give the records a listen. They are very friendly and are more than willing to look stuff up for you.
I make a stop there every single time I go to London. You should too!

The service was helpfull and friendly. It's allowed to listen to the records upfront - that's very important for me.

Got some classic Detroit techno the quality was top notch and found records that ive seen going for double the price in Manchester where I normally shop for vinyl. It’s taken me 7 years to return to phonica but I travel to London usually every coupe of months it’s will now been embedded into my regular London rituals of things that must be done and other activities get arrange around them. 👍👍👍

Whenever I go I rummage through the drawers that are full of promos at a great price, from 1 pound to 3. Good hits of vinyl take me from those drawers!
