If you need any work done to your beloved instrument look no further. Matthew is a true professional and a fine craftsman. My Gibson J45 acoustic guitar was in need of a set-up after years of use. Matthew gave me some great initial advice and hand crafted me a new bone nut and saddle. He also ramped the bridge pins and fixed a minor issue I had with a dodgy screw. The guitar was cleaned and set-up beautifully. Matthew’s expertises and knowledge have given my guitar a new lease of life in regards to both playability and tone. I couldn’t be more impressed with the work he carried out. The Royal Guitar Repair Company is the only place I will be taking my guitars in the future.

Just got my guitars back from Matt at the The Royal Guitar Repair Company. All cleaned, setup and playing beautiful. Strongly recommend this guy for all your guitar related needs. Instead of handing over your instrument to someone you often never meet and hoping for the best, he takes the time to understand how you play, what you want and how to best achieve it. Keeps you updated as work processes, often with images and let's you make the decision on any extra work that might be necessary. Thoroughly decent chap to boot. Support your local luthier!

Matt of Royal Guitar Repair Company is a seasoned guitar tech guru and a pleasure to meet. He has set up three guitars for me (electric and acoustic), including a refret of a Fender Strat, and done an ace job on each of them. He always emphasises that he wants his customers to be 100% satisfied and to bring the guitar back for any wee tweaks that might be required. I cannot confirm that Matt is, as claimed, ‘vastly adept in the field of spiritual advice and an actual bonafide Lord.’ But he is certainly a clever and affable chap with a fine sense of humour. Very highly recommended.
