Reviews of O2 Academy Birmingham

The venue itself is good, easy to find and parking next door. What let's it down is the process of getting in! Security are far too slow in checking people and there seemed to be no strategy of which Security bod takes which queue.
Once in, it's bigger than I expected. We were on the balcony which gave a great view over the stage. Seats not the most comfortable though and lacking in legroom.

Had to have been over capacity, absolutely rammed.
Really enjoyed my night never the less. Saw Example and he was incredible as usual.
Took forever to be served at the bar, it was 4 or 5 people deep all night which spoilt it a bit. Drinks are over priced just like all other music venues so it was to be expected.
Would see live music here again.

Good venue, good space with bars all around. The sound was amazing and the atmosphere fantastic. The only thing I would say is if you're slightly shorter in stature (as I am!) and you've booked a standing ticket my advice would be to wear heels! Alternatively you could book a balcony ticket.

This was the first time is been to this venue and was pleasantly surprised. Had standing tickets to see Ellie Goulding and she put on an amazing show.
Because the venue is smaller it feels much more intimate and environ though we were standing near to the bank we had a decent view ( it probably helped though that I'm 6'2").
Settings are a bit pricey but expected for the type of venue, £6.10 for a pint of cider.
As this is an O2 venue is recommend that you download the O2 Priority app if you're on the O2 network before you visit the venue as you can queue jump for free otherwise it's a long wait to get in once does open.

Came to see Chvrches here on the 18th March, the venue was great and the band were even better!

Saw example here recently, quality show. Drinks fair priced and the atmosphere was incredible for such a small venue!

Very good venue, drinks a bit pricy but there are good local pubs. Staff very welcoming and professional, just do your homework before you eg identification, covid pass, travel arrangements ect. Brilliant gig, Rag'n'Boneman with good support acts.

We come here regularly to see the different rock bands they have. Seating upstairs on the balcony, and loads standing room downstairs. Bathrooms are clean and easy accessible. Plenty of bars to get your refreshments.
Great atmosphere, plenty of very professional security staff to help the place run smoothly.

Great atmosphere, staff are so friendly and helpful and seem to care about the people attending the venue. Amazing experience my 12 yr old had at Bars and Melody and wasn't judged for being in a wheelchair.

Decent Venue staff were good. Drinks expensive but that's to be expected
