A. P.Nottinghill Carnival, London: Famous carnival everyone knows of. Usually held August Bank Holiday. So travelled from Cambridge down to Nottinghill. Great atmosphere with many street vendors selling their wares. Best ones were those selling all sort of food from all over the world, very tasty, Jamacian, Thai, Itallian Greek etc... Whatever is your taste. The atmosphere was electric. Groups of people milling around in gardens, hanging out of windows, standing on street corners or just chatting excitedly as floats and people passed. The colours and floats were amazing, you wondered how people could wear such costumes all day as it was so hot. Fun obviously ruled the day. The police were very good humoured and remained discretely around. The whole day was buzzing and busy with life. Went home absolutely worn out and entertained. This is defintely a once in a lifetime thing to do for your bucket list.
