A nice hotel with some lovely views. My wife and I got married here and it was lovely. The real hidden secret is the chart bar downstairs. You can sit in comfort and avoid the crowds if you want food and/or drink on a Friday or Saturday night and you haven't booked anywhere. A good range of drinks and friendly staff.

They provided a lovely afternoon tea with menus suitable both for adults & small children - a couple of us had the fizz option providing a glass of Prosecco which was most palatable - the sandwiches were clearly all freshly made, with the option of brown or white bread. Scones, cream & jam were most acceptable, as were the cakes. In celebration of the season they included Christmas cake. All very good and no chance of leaving feeling hungry. Staff were efficient and delightful. A very happy experience so thank you to the Clarendon.

We recently stayed here for 1 night as we were attending a Wedding. On arrival we found the staff very friendly and helpful. We booked a standard double room which was very clean and tidy. The shower was a little tight, but for the price I'm not complaining. The water was piping hot and for a large hotel, was great. Very easy (walking distance) to get to the nearby shops, local attractions and restaurant's etc. We managed to get (not guaranteed) a parking space which was a real bonus.. We had a room at the back, which was lovely and quiet, so slept really well. And the breakfast, which was included, was very good indeed. Many thanks to you all....

The staff last night were so friendly and made my stay feel so special. They couldn't do enough for us. I hope they know how appreciated they are me and my family really felt looked after. Food was 10 out of 10 and the hotel was superb!

I love this hotel and it has undergone a full refurbishment in the rooms. However thos meant to room we had this time had a bathroom that had a door with no closure on it. If you wanted it to stay closed you had to put the bin in front of it. Also breakfast although good was busy so there were things that were either slow or not repelnished at all, which again is unusual. I am sure both are easily remedied and will be. Still love this hotel and would always go back.

Really nice hotel. Comfortable, clean and secure. Handy for transport to the O2. Could do with more plug sockets in the room( 4 people need to charge phones ). Lovely breakfast so other than plug sockets, I have no negatives

We have stayed here a few times and have usually been happy
When we arrived for this stay my wife noticed a bad stain on the bedding. This was noticeable from a distance
We were really unhappy and complained
The receptionist came and instantly agreed.
We were then moved to another room. This room was fine and clean
We had booked on booking. Com so we checked the price. The room we had been given we noticed was cheaper than the one we had booked and paid for
We mentioned this at reception and were told that they would not refund the difference. After a lengthy discussion with the manager they refunded half the difference.
It was not alot of money, but still very annoying that they couldn't see our argument

As always, lovely room overlooking the common, staff friendly and helpful especially the restaurant staff in the mornings, great location, train station within walking distance and 10 minutes or so you are in the centre of London, will definitely be staying there again if we are visiting London.

Stayed here after getting married, night staff were brilliant in helping us get to our room and checked in. The breakfast was really good with plenty of options. Room was a little stuffy because the windows did not open but fans provided did help a little.

Lovely stay, waiting staff in bar and restaurant were particularly excellent.
The young waitress in the bar Jourdanne was so friendly and personable it made our stay extra special.
It was a treat night for myself and my daughter and Jordanne made it an even more memorable stay.
(Sorry for not spelling your name right)

The place is very easy to get to a lot of bus stops around the area and the nearest train station is just a couple of minutes away by foot. We had a small event around 50 guests the place is really nice with access to their garden and the food is much better compared to other luxury hotels. The staff are great very helpful and friendly. Didn't have the chance to stay but my kins who stayed overnight said breakfast is much better than other hotels within London area. They said they never had breakfast better than Clarendon. Looking forward to have another event or maybe check in next time to relax.

We stayed at the Claradon hotel on Saturday. What a lovely experience. Staff were amazing. We came on a coach trip. What a lovely room and spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need was in our room.we stayed in the hotel for a meal. Our meals were excellent. The waiting staff and bar staff were lovely. There were 15 of us so they had their hands full with us.nothing was too much trouble for them. Excellent service.
P. K.
A very clean hotel where the staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was excellent and the views were superb. In a great location so good for shopping and sightseeing. Will definitely return.

Very nice hotel in a great location.
Bathroom was lovely with a rain shower. Comfortable bed. The room was a bit warm on a hot day but the fan was effective. Breakfast generous and well prepared.
Friendly service all round.
Bit noisy in the evening with a wedding party under my room but it finished early enough (10.30?) so no worries.
Good transport links with bus stops right outside and Blackheath station a five minute walk.
Car parking on site but packed out most of the time.
Would definitely return.

A truly wonderful experience with such a welcoming and helpful staff. I really felt that these people were genuinely happy that we were staying there. Incomparable customer service. Excellent!
J. S.
Fabulous hotel. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast with loads of choice. They offer a very grand afternoon tea for £19 per person with delicious cakes and sandwiches. Only down side is that there’s very limited parking so you need to arrive early to get a place especially as weddings take place there en mass
m. h.
Lovely location to stay, plenty of parking in and around the hotels. A nice secure EV charge point (3) for Tesla if have on. Staff where incredibly helpful. The inside decor is a little dated I places. The breakfast selection was very good and hosted and waited excellently.
J. C.
Amazing staff, poor quality food. Pate seemed like it was cheap tesco, no gravy on the pork if you're gluten free. My companions with normal diets weren't too impressed with it either
K. W.
So. The room we were given in the Clarendon wing had no phone for room service, no batteries in the remote control for the television, and when we were in bed late at night, we had a giant spider crawl out of the bedding which scared the life out of me in the middle of the night! I told the guy as we checked out, and he said why didn’t you call us, but I had no phone to do so. Food and service in the restaurant was lovely, but I would probably think twice about booking a room again.
C. G.
So love it here. Thank you to you all...lovely room overlooking the heath....clean and tidy. Sara on reception organised and as efficient as ever. Lovely breakfast too. My one minor complaint please don't argue about my bill. I always pay in advance on line...I don't want reception staff querying my payment in front of customers when I have already paid. Apart from that I love it here ❤️
S. D.
I was there to sort finer details of my wedding there Julie one of the managers is absolutely brilliant nothing to much for. An absolute star. The clarendon is a beautiful hotel with beautiful surroundings can't wait to stay and also to say I do there. Thank you clarendon sonia and Peter

Ideally positioned for Greenwich and the O2, the hotel staff were all excellent and the food was very good, are room was a little disappointing apart from newish on suite, the room was in need of decorating and new furniture ,and electrical socket with jammed switch, I did wonder if other rooms were as bad maybe got that one because we booked with booking.com! Will never know but if that is the reason it is bad policy ,booking .com saved many places from going under.
E. P.
Everything was great! You are offered a tea of your choice and a 3 tier cake stand oer 2 people in our case. There was plenty on there. We're not too happy with the cherry scones as they didn't fit well with jam and cream. But ate one of them. Sandwiches and cakes good.
a. b.
Spent a night here. The hotel is from the 1900. Had a room with the park view which made it amazing. Facility was okay. Came with free breakfast (with the price I paid it's expected £108) All in all I had a nice time and the bed was amazing 😁
D. E.
Had a brilliant 25th wedding anniversary here last week. Many thanks to all the staff for their help and to the catering staff for the lovely food. All of our family had a lovely time. Thanky George & Debbie Ellis
M. H.
Small room very small bathroombut clean and nicely decorated comfy bed. Good enough for us.good buffet breakfast
The car was full .
they recommend station car park quite a distance away.can park near church free after 7.00 for all other car parks no cash or card only on line or by phone.
V.
The hotel and staff were nice. Breakfast was as expected room clean and comfortable, but the parking was a nightmare and the accessibility could be a problem. 3rd floor rooms dont necessarily have lift access but the reception was kind enough to bring my bags up for me.
J. C.
We had our wedding reception at The Clarendon Hotel recently and we've got only positive things to say about how the day went and how the staff treated us. It couldn't have gone better and we were so impressed with how the hotel is run.
From the minute we had to change our venue (relatively last minute), Julie - The Clarendon's event coordinator - was on hand to take the stress out of everything for us. From answering all of our (many) questions in the build up to being on hand when the band arrived and helping to decorate the venue's various spaces while we were trying the knot - she was brilliant.
My new wife and I, as well as a large number of our guests stayed the night at the hotel after we'd finished eating and dancing. We had an excellent night's stay, and so did our guests.
A massive thanks to The Clarendon Hotel, and it's friendly staff, for helping to make our day so memorable. The garden space, in particular, was a lovely place to spend the afternoon.
B. M.
A good lunch at the Clarendon hotel today. This hotel has hosted the Blackheath lunch club for the past 45 years. The manager and his staff are always brilliant.
M. C.
Really lovely hotel clean room , clean comfy beds , and the breakfast was amazing we have stayed here 3 times never disappoints staff in the restraunt are very very good we will be back soon
M. F.
Had the most fantastic break with my family. Staff were just so lovely, friendly and helpful. Beautiful hotel, great rooms and breakfasts were amazing. Used to see this hotel often when walking across Blackheath as a child and can't believe I have now stayed there. Lived up to every expectation. Bus stop right outside into centre of Greenwich to visit the market, the Cutty Sark museums and get a boat up to the city. After all the loss and worry of the past 18 months this stay at the Clarendon was the perfect tonic.
D. S.
Room was ok breakfast was really nice but didn't agree with other guests eating in the restaurant in pyjamas on more than one occasion, I thought that there would have been dress code i.e wear some
T. K.
It's a nice hotel, but it's not a great hotel. It definitely tries to be fancier than what it is. Front of house and reception are very polite and friendly, some of the wait staff and cleaning staff could take a leaf from their book.
The rooms are incredibly stuffy though! A tiny little fan does not cool them enough in the height of summer and the lack of AC makes them almost unbearably hot... It's like trying to sleep in a sauna. The beds are comfy, the food is average, the parking is free and if you're in a car, not awful.
It's good... But not great
S. P.
Lovely place to stay. Used to have the most wonderful Sunday lunches, with pianist playing lovely melodies
R. H.
Great place to stay, staff very welcoming. Breakfast very nice and enjoyable.
G. S.
Lovely restaurant. Had fishcake starter but only had one expensive for the amount of food. Waitress was friendly and nice
B. R.
The hotel. Staff good, break fast excellent, room was good, I would stay again. Value for money.
L. L.
Popped in last Sunday on the off chance of Sunday dining. The staff were very friendly and accommodated myself & my son in the garden area, we were offered beautiful throws if we got chilly, but the weather turned out glorious. The food was fabulous, and although busy, the staff were very attentive. We will definitely be back 🙂
N. S.
A lovely classic hotel. Room was a great size and very clean. Bed was comfy. Staff were great and very helpful. Room service food only but it was easy to order and came within a good time, even at peak. Would definitely stay again.
G. B.
A hidden gem. Old-fashioned, charming hotel in a gorgeous London village. I really should just keep quiet about it!
R. D.
What lovely staff they are a credit. This is a nice hotel it seems to have the old fashioned way of what proper hotels used to do before chains. Service food garden rooms bars 5 star
M. S.
Given the location and price, a great hotel - staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended.
T. B.
Nice clean place for sunday lunch with a wonderful piano player entertainment. The menu is nice and the bar is nice. The waiting staff are mostly lovely, but some seem a bit rushed off their feet and the manager discusses shifts in front of diners.
U. F.
Lovely venue, friendly staff, excellent food and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
T. H.
I love the place and staff are brilliant service amazing best hotel ever .xx they always make us welcome .xx
R. L.
Nice inside garden and hotel. Average food, but good service from the employees, really helpful and kind.
V. C.
Lovely place in the perfect location. Friendly staff and very clean.
C. C.
I'm not sure why it doesn't have 5 stars? I went to a 5 star hotel for our honeymoon and it didn't compare to the serive at The Clarendon Hotel.
Thank you to Julie, Pragati, Ken the Restaurant Manager and all the stuff that worked in the hotel on June 5th 2021.
Every single one of you made our wedding day the best day of our lives from morning till close.
Helping us make the reception room even more beautiful than it already was, arranging some of the best food we have ever tasted for our wedding breakfast, our complimentary hotel suit, every detail was perfect.
The staff at The Clarendon Hotel are the nicest Kindest people you could ever meet! They have so my class and they care very much about people. They have so much pride in their jobs and honestly this was the only place I ever wanted our wedding reception.
I have always personally had a brilliant experience at this hotel and will bring any business I have to them because there is service is first class.
Talking about prices for things they charge what they need to, they do not over charge for anything. Their reasonable price's is partly why its exceptional. The venue is wonderful spotless btw and the staff are what really makes it my favourite place in London.
Special mention to Julie who was there for me every step of the way on our wedding day including when I had an unrelated melt down! She calmed me, it was like having another Mum. Her gentle and efficient classy approach to coordinatimg was second to none.
Pragati, this man take a high level of pride in his job, he doesn't need to work there he could just relax at home, he chooses to be there, he chose to be exceptional at his job and he is great at it.
Ken knows how to run this hotel, he is smart and with his advice I have been able to have two very successful events hosted there.
What I am saying is if you want to have any events, dinner, somewhere to stay The Clarendon is the place to go, situated in such a beautiful area of London.
If they can help you with whatever you need, they will do it, they will help you and simply because they are proud to do so.
Thank you so much again for helping us have the wedding of our Dreams and supporting me every step of the way as the Bride 😁❤️
So much love from Collet & Kipras aka Mr & Mrs Collins x x x
R.
We stayed in a beautiful family room which was a two room suit with amazing facilities, beautifully dressed outdoor garden and eating areas. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. George who works on the reception/customer service desk has been our go to person and I must say that GEORGE is the epitome of customer excellence so helpful and polite and helped us through what was a very stressful time. Thanks GEORGE

I booked for afternoon tea for 4 and it was the best I've ever had and I've had many afternoon teas. Great portion!! If I didn't live in Bristol I would book her more! Only slight issue was the time it took to be served. That's why there isn't 5*.
R. W.
Great service, good food and at a very reasonable price for a London hotel.
A. A.
Well placed geographically. Walking distance to shops and the fields. Comfortable bed , good breakfast. Had gluten free and lactose intolerant option's.
J. F.
Lovely staff and good facilities. The restaurant has been relocated to the garden, in a gazebo, to comply with covid rules. Beautifully decorated with heaters and blankets for knees for if it gets cold. The food was excellent as usual.
D. C.
Spent our wedding night in a suite here, staff lovely, room beautiful, bed was so comfy and breakfast was delicious
L. W.
Breakfast is the best part. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice and clean rooms. Food and afternoon tea very good aswell.
S. K.
Rooms were nice, though there was a problem with the shower in the first one. The food is very good. Would recommend for that.
C. A.
Nice and clean lovely breakfast nice surroundings enjoyed our stay 😀.
S. A.
Price-conscious hotel, easy to find. Resonable. The best part: ordered breakfast and the toast was hot when it arrived.
l. t.
It was alright. Nice friendly staff. Room was ok too.
S. M.
Fine for a central mid priced hotel. Good for shcrt stay.
L. M.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Food was tasty, staff were friendly, rooms were good value and the location is stunning. Easy access into central London and is very close to the delightful Blackheath village and the unrivalled Greenwich park. Everything was great. Highly recommend.
K.
On the plus side: staff are very friendly, room service is quick, bed very comfy, room spacious and bathroom super clean. However, from staff behaviour it's unclear what the covid policy is for this hotel. On the front desk most people not wearing masks, and some staff doing room service not wearing them either.
m. d.
Excellent service, location and value.
Large family room comfortably accomodated my family of 4.
Reception staff and manager went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, offering and setting up an empty room for us to use as private dining room.
a. r.
Stayed for one night in a single room overlooking the heath, it was clean and tidy if a bit basic, the bathroom was a good size but pretty cold as the only heating was a small towel rail.
The staff were all friendly apart from one of the receptionists who insisted I needed to pay for my room even though I had already done so, surely she could have checked rather than making me pay again and then having to go back later for a refund after checking my card statement.
Still, a good breakfast and overall a good stay, ideal for the O2 as it's only a 5min drive away.
J. P.
5 star staff and service but loses a star from me due to restrictive parking and awkward access in to The Westcombe Park Suite to hand carry my disco gear in down the steps
T. H.
Very nice hotel rooms spotless staff very friendly only had breakfast but they were to a very high standard would stay again and certainly recommend it

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and lovely tasty food

Very helpful staff. Parking can be bad. I got a very bad day. Not the hotel fault.
P. B.
Very comfortable hotel. Warm and welcoming.
S. L.
Lovely staff and a lovely atmosphere for my Dad's wedding. Everyone had such a good time and it all ran smoothly which is thanks to the great team working there
P. S.
Great place to have a meal. And the staff are friendly and give a great service.
C. H.
Hotel is a little tired but clean and serviceable throughout. Walls transmit sound, lots of bangs and creaks all night, so that was a bit of a down side.
Breakfast was very nice. Good selection of cooked and continental. Locally made jam - delicious!
Didn't visit the bars or restaurant in the evening. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Location is lovely. Blackheath is quiet but well served with restaurants and shops etc. Travel from Blackheath station or by bus to Greenwich was reliable and easy.
C. C.
Another lockdown stay. Friendly staff, a sanitised room, wonderful bed, good shower. Room service evening meal was ok, but the spring onion mash didn't have spring onion in! Room service breakfast was banging!! I'll be back if business allows.
S. W.
Lovely setting, excellent Christmas lunch and wonderful service

We had an amazing stay at the Clarendon. We flew to London to attend a show at the O2 and this hotel was the perfect choice. It is in a perfect location close to everywhere you want to go. The staff are very friendly especially Johnny the bartender! He is super friendly and made us feel very welcome! Thank you Johnny! The suite was very clean and comfortable with a very comfy bed that the cleaning person on our floor made up to perfection each day, thank you for that! Lots of bars and restaurants in the area that you can walk too. The restaurant in the hotel was great and the breakfast was very fresh and had lots of variety. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London.
L. R.
Popped in for a lateish cocktail with the other half.
It had only just reopened so hard to gauge but the young lady who served us was friendly and attentive and the general vibe was pleasant enough.
R. C.
Fantastic afternoon tea with friends . Plenty of food , staff were excellent and the selection was fresh and very tasty
S. N.
The place could do with updating. The menu was limited, most dishes came with some variation of potato. The WiFi in our room was abysmal, we had to go to the lounge to get a signal. Otherwise not a bad place for a few nights
R. F.
Great location outside central london to explore from. Comfy beds and nice room.Great breakfast. A short walk across Greenwich park to visit the cutty sark. Get the Uber clipper then from Greenwich pier to travel up and down the Thames.
J. F.
Went there for a weekly event. Everyone seems to be friendly and helpful.
S. O.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice location.
This hotel has a very good price/quality relationship.
Ok, it is not located in the city but it takes 20 minutes by bus from the hotel to O2.
Bus stops just in front of the hotel.
Breakfast is good, especially if you like the pure British one. Beans, bacon, eggs etc.
My room was recently renewed, so it was really clean good.
If the room is facing the main road (like mine) then it gets a bit noisy as the windows do not stop any noisy coming from outside.
D. S.
Due to The Clarendon being a very old building, any negative things I mention are entirely down to this. The windows are original and can let in a draft during the colder months. This is something I don't enjoy while taking a shower and getting dried in January. For the same reason, sleeping can be difficult due to the level of noise from the traffic outside. Horns beeping, lorries, emergency vehicles and thousands of cars travelling through busy Blackheath. Even with ear plugs in place, the noise kept me awake. That said, the staff are lovely, friendly and efficient. Our breakfast was excellent and the service outstanding. Our room was pleasantly furnished and very clean. If we go back, it would be during the warmer months and would only stay at the back of the hotel to lessen the noise.
D. K.
A hotel from the quaint old fashioned era. Full of Victorian charm and great views of the Greenwich park. The staff are extremely polite and friendly and they ensure the rooms are serviced and cleaned to a high standard. The best full English breakfast buffet in the morning is the best! The mattress on my bed however, could have been better. It was a bit lumpy. Also, most hotels nowadays have air conditioning so they should look into installing them for the increasing heatwaves during summer.
K. C.
Love this hotel. Excellent access to Central London, beautiful views of The Heath. The evening food is excellent with a fabulous breakfast and the staff are the most welcoming ever, nothing is too much for them. Highly recommended. Friendly and comfortable hotel with beautiful decor. Ample parking too!
M. H.
Helpful parking for Blue badge holders. Efficient staff and good buffet for a funeral reception
T. W.
This hotel was really great. Includes hot breakfast, it's close to the above ground subway, and the little town is so cute. Staff was very nice. The restaurant was under construction, but they set up another area for breakfast and there is a nice pub in the hotel too. The food and drink prices were reasonable.
I. J.
Great location to little shops and nice restaurants as well as some amazing walking paths that lead to some amazing attractions, we where greeted at the door with a friendly face that was helpful and polite, the hotel is old and full of history but kept fairly modern, mostly modern in the rooms that are very clean, they have comfy beds, small tea station and in the bigger rooms a nice sitting area for tea and a view out the window.
I would definitely stat here again
B. F.
One of the best afternoon teas ever. Staff and food are always lovely. We cant wait for the lockdown to be over to join you again for delicious afternoon tea and a glass of bubbly.
D. I.
Lovely place to stay. Comfy bed and a good choice of breakfasts. Also a very good 3 course roast for the evening meal and the bar meals were good too. The Staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
P. E.
Beautiful location, friendly staff well maintained on cleanness.
My first visit was for hospital Christmas party it was all decorated with nice flowers, candles and wines I really like the decorations and the staffs were very polite.
I'm giving 3stars just because of food the food we had was not good we really didn't enjoyed the food.
M. C.
It was a surprise from our son and daughter in law for 11 of us to have dinner at the Clarendon to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and although we had wonderful family and friends celebrating with us, we felt a little let down. The service was not great as the waitresses kept disappearing, no background music and some of the food was cold. We were unable to send it back as once again no staff around. Thank goodness the company was great and we still enjoyed our evening with them. I cannot comment on the rooms as we did not book to stay.
D. S.
Very nice could do with updating in places great view of the common and church
A. T.
A well run hotel in a nice location.
Food that I experienced (including breakfast) is good to very good.
Only downside (and the reason for the loss of a star) is that the room we had was not air conditioned and when it is 33 deg C outside the room was very warm, especially at night. Scaffolding outside meant reluctant to leave windows open.
The staff were all helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
M. S.
Decent sized room, helpful staff at the reception who are prompt with their service and good variety of food items at the breakfast. Location is right across the bus stop so it's very easy to travel to the O2 arena. Lots of cute cafe's and restaurants near by and an open park right across to relax. Overall a good place to stay in a lovely area.
D. B.
Lovely friendly hotel. Not particularly modern but has character and is very clean and comfortable. Staff were
very friendly and really helpful especiall in the dining room. Breakfast was very good. Great location.

35 years ago I lived in Blackheath and walked past the hotel every day. I promised myself that one day I would stay there. I did this summer with my daughter. It's a great traditional hotel on the heath, a great open space in London, and on the edge of Blackheath village. A village in de middle of London, a place to come back to after a busy day out in London. The village has lovely littles boutiques, restaurants, wine bars and pubs. It's close to Greenwich, from where you can take the ferry to many destinations on the river Thames (and into town) , by checking in and out with your oyster travel card.
Our room was one with a view of the heath, a little bigger than the standard rooms (which looked really small). We loved our room, old-fashioned but with modern facilities.
The traditional breakfasts were great, so were the waitors. Just like the bar and staff. And not to forget the high tea we took.
The receptionists were very welcoming and helpful too.
One note of criticism, my aunt would love to come round to clean all the mirrors and windows! The windows in the breakfast room could especially do with a good scrub. Everything else was spic and span.
Oh and I loved the fresh water carafes flavoured with mint, strawberries or lemon.
S. M.
Stone-age hotel, by American chain standards. Very old, but very clean and well kept. Friendly and attentive staff. I did notice that the management did go out of their way to corral a drunken wedding party that arrived late. Breakfast was very nice, freshly prepared food and good variety. Overall, a nice stay, but if you're American and expecting a Holiday Inn Express or a Ramada, this might not be the place for you.
R. A.
Went there for our works Christmas celebration. Was reluctant to go, I am glad I did. No complaints, had the fruit starter, fish meal and the Christmas pudding for desert, enjoyed it all. Followed through with music on the dance floor. The staff were very attentive, piolet, made you feel at ease. The music catered for all, was in a group of 20 people, not one complaint.
f. c.
Good location, room was very hot and stiffling despite a fan, window opened onto roof space and was noisy, curtain had to be kept shut as there was no privacy. Reception staff were friendly.Room was lovely comfy bed but poor sleep due to the heat.Breakfast was great although some of the waiting staff need to cheer up a bit and be more friendly!!! However Frieda was lovely natural smile and was genuinely lovely.
R. B.
Lovely staff, so helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
S. P.
Stayed in a different wing this time. There where some rooms being restored. The room we stayed in was very nice and new however it was extremely hot and only had a fan on the wall in the room which created noise at night and so disturbed our sleep.
Great breakfast but again the breakfast room was like an oven. Too hot to relax.
L. J.
The staff were brilliant, the food was awesome. The only problem was the parking situation not a lot of parking for every guest. Also the rooms needs updating. We struggled to find a USB Port to charge our phones in the room, We had to walk a mile away from the hotel to our car to charge our phones. Please update the rooms it needs some TLC to help both national & international guest to enjoy their stay.
C. A.
I stayed here for two nights for my Wedding on the 25th and 26th of August. I stayed in a double room which had a large double bed and a single bed, the room was very spacious and the bathroom was a standard sized room with bath and shower overhead. The shower had a jet head that could be changed to various settings. The powerful fan in the room came in handy as the room did seem to get quite warm. When I arrived back to my room on the first nights stay, there was a wedding reception taking place downstairs, the music was quite loud but by 11:30pm this had completely died down and guests of the party had departed. I thought this was great considering it was a Saturday night. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast which was included with the price of both night's stay was perfect, continental bites to eat, as well as your full English essentials, tea and coffee are brought to your table on sitting and the staff are very attentive. The staff on the reception desk were very attentive too! As mentioned on other reviews, the parking is a problem as being a big and busy hotel the front door car park is limited at all times, although there is sufficient parking spaces on the main road leading from the hotel and some parking towards the back end of the hotel down a quiet side street (5minute walk), just check signs for any parking charges and pay and display.

Lovely hotel, in a quiet area with lovely green park opposite. (Good for sunbathing on a sunny day!) ice cream van usually parks up outside, if it's hot.
I didn't see many shops- so ensure you have what you need.
Rooms were ok- a little dated, but good value for money- with the breakfast.
Breakfast was lovely- they were very accommodating and everything was delicious!
We came in a cab, but noticed parking was a bit of a squeeze. There seemed to be very limited parking so I'd suggest no car or early booking. 👍
A. A.
A decent hotel with nice rooms. The parking is diabolical though. There's very few spaces for such a large hotel. They have concrete bollards which restricts the parking even more. I ended up parking about 3-5 minutes away down a private road due to the lack of spaces. The staff were friendly though and the breakfast was nice. Would stay again but the parking situation needs sorting out.

Went here for mother’s day afternoon tea. Really enjoyed the visit, staff were excellent and the food brilliant. For £20 per head I recommend afternoon tea. Had a few drinks in the bar after and was nice and clean.
We didn’t not stay here but from this experience I definitely would. I always review based on reasonable expectations and this place exceeded them.
P. B.
Massive room with bathroom/bath in a small annex. Decor/layout quite old but comfortable. Noise from whatever function is on travelled very freely upstairs which made sleeping hard. Thankfully the staff looking after the very good breakfast buffet are lovely. Location near Greenwich is pretty, and there are good eats and pubs nearby. If you're going places on a weekday morning, going north through the tunnel is a bit of a 'mare.
M. M.
I have frequented this hotel for 14 years. Most often I have the breakfast when I am out cycling. It's now £10 and there is an unlimited buffet. Continental and hot. A decent and civilised place with a lot of history. Blackheath, as a whole has a tremendous history which incorporates the royal family throughout the ages. There is a sense of grandeur here. Much recommended.
S. R.
Fantastic the hotel staff were friendly and attentive it was very clean and tidy
H. C. H.
Hotel was very clean and in a beautiful location, close to O2...5 mins in taxi, which was handy for us. Evening meal in their restaurant was gorgeous ( haggis). However disappointed that we could not get breakfast to the room before 7am ( early train) even though we had paid for breakfast. Other very small let downs, were room was very hot and could not open window and risk of falling in bathroom due to high threshold and very slippy floor, however otherwise a good base to stay.
J. B.
Lovely and clean but rooms too hot. Needs air conditioning. Breakfast was good except for the grumpy italian supervisor who was having a bad day and was seriously unprofessional. It"s in an awesome location. We were really pleased that it's dog friendly. Reception staff were exceptional especially Callum who is a credit to the hotel. Would stay again but when it's cooler.
C. H.
Great hotel with friendly staff and close to Greenwich park. i stayed overnight before photographing a wedding at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. They made the day special for the bride and groom too being attentive to details. The food was excellent. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Greenwich park which offers amazing views over canary wharf, the famous observatory, the maritime museum and some great shopping. Highly recommended.
T. M.
We had an overnight stay at this lovely hotel. The waiting staff are very friendly and accommodating and we have been back there ***y times for different events. There are so ***y different types of room to cater for the single traveller, large families and VIPs. Certainly good value.
P. S.
Looked for a hotel near to University of Greenwich/ Trinity College of Music on business. Ideally placed. Lovely location. Friendly staff. Yes, it is first come first served for free parking spot which I was too late to take advantage of, but there is free overnight parking on local roads. Room was clean, comfy, all you need and very acceptable pricing for London and I thoroughly enjoyed the inclusive breakfast complemented by attentive staff. All staff in the hotel attentive and very pleasant. I can recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure.
m. /. r.
Really pretty, old fashioned rooms. I loved the whole early 20th century feel. Everything was clean and the staff was polite and helpful whenever we needed something. The breakfast buffet was small but delicious
T. M.
All the rooms are fantastic and are kept to a very high standard. The room was clean and tidy as we're the bathrooms. Staff are friendly and helpful when they can. In terms of work-out, the heath is quite a big spacious ground that you could use for walk about for hours.
a. h.
Room very small especially given the price. Lunch was pretentious and expensive. Wifi was unreliable and kept signing me out.
On the plus side, location was convenient, room had a bath, breakfast was excellent and staff were mostly friendly and helpful.
Overall, not bad but I suspect you can get a better deal elsewhere.
R. O.
Very comfortable hotel blessed with wonderful staff in a superb location. Highly recommended 👍🏻👌🏻
T. M.
Almost everything was very good. The location is good (Blackheath is quite beautiful no matter what time of year it is) and it has easy access into the centre of London. The buffet breakfast had a good spread, to satisfy most tastes. …
G. e.
Nice and clean/tidy. Parking is a bit limited and awkward. Inclusive breakfast was very impressive, plenty of food to choose from.
The staff I spoke to seemed friendly enough and were quick to get me a much needed pot of tea despite being busy.
Overall it is a nice hotel, which is fairly cheap and I would definitely go there again if I find myself back in London
C. B.
Lovely quiet location. Staff were very polite and friendly. Amazing cooked breakfast, perfect after seeing a gig the night before! Nice comfortable clean room. Spot on
S. N.
Adequate but clean room with very small bathroom and not able to open any windows. However, wall mounted fan provided! Not walking distance to O2 as advertised with a £12 taxi journey required. Some good and some poor and unattentive staff on Reception. Bar not open after midnight, again not catering for those attending shows at O2 and staying at hotel. Great overall location in a lovely village. Good breakfast and car parking.
S. F.
Highly recommend- stayed for a week & it was like home away from home. The staff were friendly, accommodating and highly professional. They really went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable during my stay. Great location - 5 min walk to the train which takes you straight to London Bridge... Excellent!!!
I. W.
Receptionists lovely. Room great. Bathroom has a light sensor, to long in the shower it forgot I was still there. Lovely place.
H. R.
Always a great experience. Free parking. Bus stop outside for the O2 which is 7 minutes away. Staff are lovely. Buffet breakfast us superb. Clean rooms. Love it here . always our 1st choice for the O2
T. M.
Breakfast was included and was buffet style and entailed a full English breakfast, and was of good quality. The food and service at the party were excellent, as was the breakfast. Excellent value for money. A lovely afternoon had by all of us and we would love to go back at any opportunity that we can.
Z. E.
We went to the Clarendon for a family boxing day meal. We were a large group of 24 including children. The food was lovely and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. The kids were given little Christmas presents. My only complaint is the wait time on drinks and between courses. Other than that we had a fantastic time.
O. O. (.
One beautiful advantage, from my personal experience the location on this hotel which made it accessible via public transport. A few option of London buses will easily get you to and from the hotel.
There is a free free packing, but it is quite limited.
I love the fact that you can park your car at the hotel and avoid the troubles of driving in the central London.
It is opposite a large field and I enjoyed walking around it fir recreation. For people desiring more, there is a bigger park close by , all within a walking distance.
I do not remember if there is a safe in the rooms, but the room is decent enough to rest your head.
I think you may not be impressed if you love a bit if you love your TV as you only have an old LCD TV blasting out the free view broadcast. But who cares with today's smartphones internet enabled to watch whatever you want.
Overall, my experience is relatively satisfactory for the price in terms of proximity to London
M. J.
My parents stayed here for the Marathon so we ate here the evening before and the day of the Marathon. The evening before dinner was a special meat/pasta buffet for the runners. I'm always weary of buffets but this was great. Fantastic steak and really nice pastas.
The following evening was a la carte. Food was again fantastic. The service was slightly more all over the place. Items were forgotten and multiple staff were asking the same questions but they were dealing with a whole host of post-marathon room service requests so understandable. Friendly throughout
F. D.
Agree with other positive reviews - the staff were nice, rooms spacious and well-appointed.
The bar is cosy and convivial with leisure facilities. Breakfast on the stodgy side but very filling. There is also a lovely garden with a bandstand.
J. L.
Although I had booked a single room it was very small and didn't have some of the facilities listed on the website in the room for example and iron/ironing board. Breakfast was good variety and fresh. Bar food was ok
C. F.
I would highly recommend. The hotel staff are friendly and well organised. They arranged a wake up call for 6.00am and prebooked my taxi for the following morning. The room was clean and comfortable. I had a cooked breakfast which was reasonable with a good selection of choice. Breakfast opens at 6.45am. There is a local newsagent open until quite late if your peckish. There is Wi-Fi and a comfortable sitting area near the reception. I would stay again.
R. L. R.
100% best place to stay. Staff, not just one but ALL were the VERY best I have experienced in many years. Nothing was any trouble especially if visiting the 02. Bus stop opposite hotel and only fifteen minutes and £1.50. Village or town was lovely and filled with nice people, shops and nice atmosphere.
P. S.
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, from check in to check out. Nice bar and restaurant. Only two slight negative comments, considering how good everything else was, the breakfast was a little disappointing and the room was a little on the small side. But would definitely recommend this hotel.
M. G.
It was the best experience ever, especially the breakfast. The rooms were cleaned and beautiful. You could get everything you wanted. Everything was high maintance in the hotel. Its like your dream hotel. Everything you wanted, they had it.
G. T.
An accommodating hotel from white weddings to
stray cat owners. A space for everybody. All treated with kindness and respect ..
D. E.
Nice sized room with a modern bathroom. Friendly staff when checking in and out even with a lot of guests there at the same time.
The food is good but location is about a 5 minute walk around from the train station with restaurants closer than that.
C. F.
Decent enough hotel for a reasonable London price. The building is old, so floors are uneven and floorboards creak, doors slam etc. But its clean, bed was fine, breakfast good.
Chose the hotel as we could drive into town, free parking (which in London could easily cost £20 for the day or many hotels charge parking on top). We got then got the train from blackheath and you're in central London in 25 mins.
Lucky enough to get a room with view over the heath towards Greenwich Park.
T. W.
Lovely hotel and team. Great location, lovely service
D. F.
Room very tired bathroom well past its sell by date, sink cracked, unable to open door fully with toilet seat down! Silicone sealant grubby and poorly applied, shower over bath with plastic curtains OK in the 70's but come on this day and age and for this money! wall paper peeling and grubby in bedroom, marks on chairs and curtains really not good enough.
Booked superior room hate to think what standard was like.
A.
Loved the 1930s feel to this place. Good rooms and great shower. Enjoyed the breakfast and perfect to enjoy the Blackheath night life and ON Blackheath. Friendly staff and lovely garden for morning coffees or late slurps.
n. t.
The hotel provides a popular carvery service on Sundays as well as afternoon tea service. Service was a bit hit and miss; no water was provided on our table until requested..... this was annoying as my drinks order was forgotten about too. Decor is a bit dated and parking is tight but.... seems a popular destination regardless.
R. V.
This place was so accommodating. We stayed here 3 nights and loved it. The breakfast is amazing. The bar was nice to visit at night while the Grandma and kids stayed in our 2 bedroom room. Our party of 5 was very comfortable here. This location is actually ideal to see London. Greenwich has it's own sights, and was a nice safe haven to return to after the chaos of London. We spent only one day in downtown London doing the tourist stuff, and then two days in Greenwich seeing Cutty Sark, museums, playgrounds, gardens, etc. Our 2 days were so relaxing and pleasant compared to the 1 day in London. I definitely recommend this hotel and area!
T. M.
My boyfriend and I stayed here and we were very happy with our choice. Royal Greenwich park is 10 minutes walk away. The room , bathroom and furniture where absolutely not worn out and everything was very clean. The room was simple and …
M. b.
Staff are brillaint, helpful with the littlest of problems and always with a smile. Only problem I had was the size of the room and the cleanliness as I found multiple hairs" type of I am not sure" in the bath tub aswell as in the coffee mug but other than this brillaint stop
a. w.
Fabulous hotel. Great staff very friendly and so helpful. The meals were excellent. The hotel was so clean and cosy. Very central to all amenities. Highly recommend this hotel.
B. E.
Well situated Hotel for the Olympic Park, O2, Greenwich and easy access to train fir Central London. When staying there ask for romms at the back as the heath is always busy with traffic and can be noisy, good rooms, some could do with a bit of updating, but all are clean comfortable. Staff helpful and cheerful, great breakfasts. Hotel near several good restaurants but there us a restaurant on site, I have used many times and would recommend itv
A. C.
Went to see Michael Bublé at the O2 and The Clarendon was the perfect place to stay. The room was lovely, breakfast was delicious and the staff were wonderful. And it's only 10 minutes away from the O2 via bus (the bus stop is directly outside). I would definitely stay here again.
a. b.
Lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast was with good variety of food, although the dining room got busy
C. B.
Fabulous Hotel overlooking Blackheath
My room was very good however, to get a view looking out onto.common is dearer . Staff very friendly & efficient. Food was firar class. I have yet to have dinner , however breakfast was luscious .They also offer nights of good entertainment
Oh YES and.many offers lunch too.
P. V.
Lovely place to stay either as a couple / alone / w/family. It's sweet and nice. Price is affordable. The only thing to keep in mind is that during breakfast kitchen is pretty busy, so it's worth to get up earlier ;-)
T. M.
Hotel was clean and tidy. The back is definitely quieter for a good night's sleep as we found our double on the front facing the small roundabout quite noisy once the traffic starts in the morning. I was expecting bit more for the money I paid but remember its London and its meant to be expensive.
N. S.
Room was very large and well presented. Staff was friendly and helpful and there was free parking available! Only gripe was the room was a tad cold during the morning (only stayed for a night, so didn't bother finding the heating).
M. P.
Great views over Blackheath from the front of this hotel which is on a fairly busy road, it did not disturb my sleep though. Had to sleep with the window open as there's no air conditioning. Overall a good experience and I would stay again.
R. C.
Decent rooms. Very good service considering when I went it was full lockdown. Breakfast delivered to the room which was very helpful.
A. T.
Very nice place, lovely staff
B. H.
Nice, friendly staff. Good food, well stocked bar
J. S.
Only giving this three stars as the hotel itself is quite dated, the rooms are a bit tired and basic and there are lots of stairs (the hotel has lots of different levels). However, I'd give the staff 4.5 stars for their customer service (very attentive and helpful).
T. M.
Six of us have just returned from having Sunday lunch at the Clarendon Hotel and it was lovely. The room is ok for the price. I would like to single out Jasmine the assistant conference and banqueting ***ager for a special thank you. In walking distance. We felt the price was very reasonable.
j. L.
Looking forward to my stay, but I am looking forward more to my review which I have not yet written. Exceptionally good place to spend money..... 🤔 sorry, ...
. spend Christmas... Clean Staff, Friendly room, are both antipated .. But the restaurant being booked by non-guests... (Hmmmm) in preference to us fee paying celebs, is a potential Star Loser. Watch this space .(. No, not that one...). J.
D. V.
Just arrived for a 2 night stay. Was given one of the older rooms which was not very pleasant.
The staff changed the room without hesitation and could not have been nicer .
G. R.
Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Opposite the common and a stone's throw from the town. Parking can be difficult at busy times, but reasonable rates and great breakfast.
T. M.
I was amongst a group of 30 people for the Christmas day lunch, on arrival a very pleasant member of staff showed us the lounge and the bar where we relaxed prior to Lunch. The room was small and the plug sockets were not near the bed. The room was ok as was the bathroom.
H. J.
Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Parking is available but is tricky to get as there are only a few spaces that you can't book. The hotel has no air-conditioning which made it very uncomfortable to sleep in. I would not recommend it for hot summer nights!!
N. W.
The hotel and room were very spacious and well presented. lovely breakfast and fantastic service throughout our stay.
Would definitely recommend.
D. N.
Friendly Staff, nice location looking over Blackheath.
B. B.
Excellent customer service from chanelle in the jazz bar area every week always minimum queues top proper service. I will continue to be there every Sunday afternoon 4 till 7 pm for the best way to relax ready for the new week ahead.
A. F.
Brilliant hotel and excellent value for money ... staff were friendly and really close to a tube station. The room was rather basic but just what was needed. Will definitely book again when in the area.
s. y.
Old type British hotel. Clean. Cost wise, value for money. Friendly staff.. overall great hotel..no second thought. I loved it.
D. G.
Nice old school hotel. Got upgraded to a suite which was nice but it's a little tired, but a good price for a hotel that actually isn't as far from central London as you might think, and right on the heath which is nice. Worth a look if you want to visit London but not break the bank
R. T.
We had afternoon tea here and enjoyed it very much. The little sandwich, sconn, tea, hot chocolate, and more were served by a very nice waitress. It was a nice restaurant area for this special tea for our family of 6 adults.
L. J.
The Afternoon tea was mediocre, the scones were not great and two of the same one. Staff are lovely.
i. l.
I went there for a networking event so I can't comment on the overnight rooms. However the overall presentation was very nice accompanied with the very friendly staff. The lunch provided was very well prepared and tasted great.
J. G.
cosy hotel with friendly staff and a good breakfast, limited parking but I've always got parked. the crown deluxe rooms are lovely and spacious. the only problem is the lack of air con when it's warm
T. B.
Excellent location and good buffet style breakfast. Rooms clean , warm and functional. Staff showed genuinely good customer service from reception to the breakfast staff. Would stay again.
N. S.
Large hotel conveniently located in Blackheath, with views of the heath and near to a huge range of shops, cafés and restaurants, plus a railway station. Decent rooms, with plenty of hot water. Bathroom a bit tight, but lots of towels provided.
Very helpful staff and excellent restaurant food, although obviously not Claridges. Tight parking front and rear and the two Disabled spaces are rather poor. Good value and Christmas atmosphere was very much in evidence.
C. M.
Very welcoming and efficient.Room and bathroom high standard of cleanliness and comfort.Breakfast choice excellent.Good polite and friendly service. Good presentation and tasty food.Would definitely stay again.
T. M.
We booked this hotel post-cruise a few days ago and although the hotel looks charming on the outside, it was quite a bit less than this when we went in. We had a family room on the ground floor which was good apart from the heating was on …
c. p.
Great location in wonderful Blackheath, in the Common, only a stone's through from Greenwich Park, the meridian line, the Greenwich Observatory and fantastic views over London and the River Thames.
The facade of the hotel is grand; there's good parking, and it is well served with public transport buses and trains.
Overall a top hotel in a great corner of London
D. W.
Nice family run hotel, some rooms with heath view. 15 min walk to Greenwich observatory through Greenwich Park. 5 min to natl rail. Rooms with intl TV, tea- and coffee-making facilities in rooms. I come here for thirty years, enjoying the good service, great full english breakfast and wonderful Blackheath. Good Restaurants nearby.
D. B.
Nice sized room with a modern bathroom. Friendly staff when checking in and out even with a lot of guests there at the same time.
Location is about a 5 minute walk around from the train station with restaurants closer than that.
S. B.
Me & my wife stay here in a suite every year on our wedding anniversary, even with what's gone on & going on in regards to covid was still a pleasant experience as always.
P.
Even though it's on a busy road, it is such a lovely quiet hotel. The room was incredibly spacious and clean with the bathroom equally as spacious as clean. Felt like a room in my house if my house were a manor.
G. F.
Go premium for the best stay. Old building no double glazing, so cold. But very nice poached eggs for breakfast.
S.
Fantastic hotel with friendly staff, breakfast was amazing, ideally located for travelling around and seeing the sites of London without the grief of a noisy city, definitely going back, 👍
M. L.
Nice breakfast in this place, tasty and abundant. The atmosphere of the old hotel makes you feel like you’re jumping decades in the past, it’s lovely!
L. C.
Unlimited breakfast... really nice bed and clean bedding... nice tidy room... really nice view over the park... very friendly reception staff and a free bottle of mineral water on checkout!!
R. W.
Lovely surroundings, breakfast and good customer service but be aware only parts of the hotel are Georgian. Large parts are more modern. Free parking is really useful but is limited
A. J.
Had a great stay in this hotel,The room was lovely and clean,The staff were very friendly and helpful,The breakfast in the morning was very enjoyable and a great start to the day,This hotel maybe a bit dearer than others but I don’t think you could get the service like here.
D. V.
Lovely place with many rooms, saved our live in the last minute for reservation. Warm and friendly service, great breakfast. Located at Blackheath village, near nice restaurants, pubs and shops.
J. V.
Easy to get to via train, station is only 300 meters from it.
Good service at desk and good breakfast.
Fine rooms, bathrooms could use a small fix up :)
Pillows are to hard.
T. M.
I work in London Monday to Friday and the Clarendon is without doubt the best hotel I have stayed in. I did not eat in the hotel at night but the breakfast is excellent and the early time is good if your working in London. Its best assets are its staff and good location.
J. E.
Enjoyed a Boxing day meal with members of the family. Very relaxing and nice not to clear away. Parking can be awkward as the car park is not adequate. Apart from that would make a return visit.
C. P.
Very well organised with the covid restrictions and room service was 5 star menu was very good and food arrived piping hot well Impress
D. M.
Great peaceful location, large rooms even when chosing a single. Great staff, great breakfast options. FREE parking on site front and rear, can be a bit busy at times. Great local attractions and restaurants. 5min walk to Train station and occasionallyget to see the Cavalry on an early morning exercise.
B. M. M.
Stayed here in September. Very pleased with the service. Also grateful for the prompt return of a bracelet which I forgot to pack. Housekeeping dept kept sent it back, when I called about it.
I sent a self addressed stamped envelope, and received the bracelet a few days later.
A. H.
Excellent location, train station 5 mins walk away. Friendly staff. Nice rooms, very clean. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend, and would stay here again.
M. L.
Absolutely lovely location and a simple bus journey from the O2 Arena. Almost like being in a village. Staff were friendly and rooms ok if a little worn in places. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to escape the bustle but still be in London
S.
This hotel is so good. Dog friendly, comfortable and clean. Lovely breakfast choice and very helpful and friendly staff. It's a gem.
L. B.
Room was lovely with a great view of blackheath the food was even better and the service in the restaurant was great wish i had got the waiters name.
a. k. s.
One of the best Hotel in that locality with lush green lawns in front of the Hotel . Greenwhich Park nearby for morning and evening walks, Blackheath market and Greenwhich markets nearby, train station Blackheath just on a waliking distance. Food and drinks in the Hotel are good. Staff polite and courteous.
Ample parking space for vehicles of clients in front of the Hotel.
S. Q.
Nice location in front of a green. Near the railway station. Good eateries around. Room was good. Bathroom facilities were nice. Lift not available for going up.
Z.
Lovely situated but not enough parking for functions. Staff are lovely and attentive. Afternoon tea beautifully presented but let down in terms of taste.
S. M.
Beautiful local! Friendly staff, pukka walk in shower and comfy beds. And a really nice buffet breakfast.
D. J.
Despite stating free parking it was a nightmare on same nights and we ended up driving around several times to find and pay for street parking, otherwise friendly staff, good breakfast, decent rooms and overall great hotel.
J. G.

Very nice hotel at a peaceful and safe neighbourhood. Clean rooms and delicious breakfast! The Italian guy at the breakfast room is a delight! I'd definitely recommend this hotel!
J. S.
Had to stay hear few times due to wife being ill in Kings hospital
Staff are friendly food is good and parking is OK iv alway managed to get a parking spot and alway offer me deals regarding room price
Direct train line to denmark hill 2 min walk away from hotel
D. B.
Fantastic quality hotel with loads to do in the immediate area.
We decided to stay here as an anniversary treat, we were made very welcome at reception. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.
The big surprise was that when we got to our room, we were greeted by some "Happy Anniversary" balloons and a box of chocolates! Such a personal touch!
I cannot recommend highly enough 👍
T. G.
Very nice Hotel. Rooms are clean n tidy. Breakfasts are delicious! Friendly staff.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea, bit the vegan alternative my brother had for his intolerances was shocking. No alternatives just exclusions. Completely dry bread and rock hard scones. Otherwise for myself it was great!
l. b.
Brilliant customer service thank you 😊
D. W.
Very good and worth the money
S. R.
Lovely vegan afternoon tea.
D. B.
Was OK, served a purpose but hot and stuffy overnight. We were moved because of party noise
K. J.
Had a birthday lunch here. Half the group had afternoon tea and half had a proper meal. The service was friendly and the food was good. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal and afternoon tea too
C. B.
We got married here, and orher than a few hicups, ie cutting up my cake and leaving it in a corner to stale without telling anyone, ( ruined our cake really )
The coordinator being on holiday so one of my guests did it on the day for me, but it was a beautiful day over all, the rooms are lovely, it is old fashioned but in a tasteful and clean way. Their resident dj was rubbish though so id suggest booking your own.
J. O.
They have good facilities, whereby you can use for seminars, meetings and the ambiance is 👍 Lovely big and clean and their restaurant is whao.
J. M.
Very clean room but rather small. Good selection for breakfast. Very pleasant gardens for relaxation. Excellent location on the heath.
S. W.
Beautiful hotel. Very friendly staff excellent service and an amazing breakfast. Close to the 02 taxis arranged by the very helpful receptionist.
S. D.
The only hotel in the area makes an effort to offer events and services to locals as well as providing overnight stays. However prices charged are beyond the value of what is offered and there are many things which need to be improved such as wifi, staff and infrastructure.
E. O. S.
Very clean room and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of choices. Parking is on a first come first served.
S. N.
Very nice welcoming. Their top range room was very neat, tidy and clean.
S. W.
Nice hotel but the staff are my reason for 5 stars. Really helpful without any fuss after an issue with my booking. Resolved with minimum of fuss and very happy
A. K.
Perfection. Service, location, hospitality were impeccable and the food was just incredible. As a meal after a christening it was perfect. I recommend highly their christmas meal.
J. I.
It's really friendly persons working there. I loved those beds, they are so so nice. But the breakfast, yeah it's getting used.
D. M.
Nice hotel. Clean and comfy. Price for the night very acceptable taking under consideration it is very close to the centre.
A. (.
Loved our stay here. Quiet and comfortable environment with absolutely top service. The food at both the pub and restaurant is excellent.
I. G.
Very nice room. Superb buffet style breakfast. Not too expensive in the bar. What more could you want.
K. T.
Fantastic service all around. Very clean and working well regarding COVID. Will definitely visit again. 👍👍
S. C.
Lovely smart room and super bathroom with excellent shower. Spotlessly clean, helpful staff and great breakfast.

Great night out. The 3 course meal was surprisingly good. The highlight was the singer Fil Straun who delighted us until midnight. We danced all night.
T. H. (.
The room was nice, tidy and the interior is up to date.I find the personnel very friendly and provided extra services on request. Breakfast was excellent

My friend (from Birmingham) and I visited The Clarendon hotel today and we were served by two gorgeous ladies Isabel (Portuguese from Madeira) and Chaneil (a blond 24 year old). We're both businessmen and these 2 gave us such a good service we would love to have such calibre staff in our 2 organisations. They represented The Clarendon very well on this occasion.
Please pass on this comment to them so they know we really appreciated the service they gave us.
I certainly will be back soon (since I'm a Londoner) with my family for afternoon tea or even dinner.

Clean. Very nice rooms. Cleaners always walking around. Parking is not too bad. Very accomodating to special requests. Very close to main train stations.

Amazing hotel , very close to tube station , pubs restaurants and on a quick route to the O2 London . Nice rooms , staff very helpful , breakfast very good . Would recommend for overnight O2 concert x

Aging cheap hotel conversion of a row of Georgian houses. It's in a lovely location on the edge of Blackheath and a short stroll to Greenwich and the small shopping area of Blackheath. I returned to my half started luke warm meal to try to enjoy the rest of the evening.

Excellent Hotel very friendly staff and very clean food was amazing best value for money if you're thinking of going to London for day trip travel with Ferris Holidays
K. G.
First impressions were lovely on the outside, bit tired and room a bit small in the inside, but, then, what do you expect at these prices.
Then, my girlfriend, dog and I immediately warmed to the lovely staff (and other customers), the lovely breakfast and the beautiful town of Blackheath as well as it's great links to London. The basement bar was a great find, to relax after a busy day.
As vegans with a dog, we had an amazing time and would love to come again.

Stayed at the hotel clarendon on the 13th october and I have to say what a lovely hotel very warm atmosphere wonderful staff especially lydia in the bar very approachable and lovely lady all in all a wonderful stay would definitely return in the future.also well done for putting a bath mat in the bathroom 👍.

It's nicely located next to the park. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable. My room was facing the backyard, which was very quiet.

Hotel offers great value and location with many options for sightseeing, restaurants and pubs near by and really easy access to/from London. Blackheath is a Nice English town to visit and stay, will definitely be returning.

Always a worm welcome when I arrive. The rooms are always nice and clean and the food in the restaurant is fantastic, as good as any of the local restaurant and if not better than most .
O. T.
Staff were very helpful, and willing to serve breakfast at 4.30am for us, the rooms have everything you need, and the beds are very comfortable.
C. E.

I got a suite here for 3 nights with my wife and kids, It was excellent nice staff very friendly had an overall good stay.
B. L.
If you have a choice then I wouldn't recommend this hotel. One good thing is that is opposite Blackheath with Greenwich park not far away. Bar area is good, but then again expensive, London prices. The rooms are not air conditioned, but clean and double beds are massive!
K. N.
Delightful food very well presented super clean inviroment just first class would recommend this and respectfully priced
D. B.
Room was nice and clean. Bar was pleasant. Breakfast was average. Staff were friendly and helpful.
G. S.
A nice hotel with a bit tired interior. Caring and attentive staff. Food is alroght, although the lamb steak was quite overcooked and rubbery.
R. B.
Massive place, great breakfast, my room was a bit small but had tea making facilities, what more can you ask for

Lovely location and parking available at the front for blue badge holders which they open on request to avoid misuse. Attended a reception after a funeral and the staff were most attentive.
D. J.

Had a fabulous night at the clarendon at a hen do.. Great fun
G. M.
Attending a private function and decided to stay, staff at reception absolutely fantastic, when phoned for an extension lead it was provided within minutes, rooms were adequate and comfortable, the surrondings are perfect, of I am being picky the bar staff although friendly and polite seemed to be taking other duties on rather than serving while customers were waiting but overall value for money.
C. B.
Rooms at a good level of cleanliness, cleaned nicely ever day, breakfast is great and beds are soft which is preferable
A. R.
Great old English hotel, sat right on Blackheath looking out over the open fields. Great fry up for breakfast, friendly staff and happy to take dogs.
J. M.
Had a quick drink in the downstairs bar before Blackheath fireworks. Very reasonable and quiet compared to the rest of the pubs/bars near the heath.

Great team at breakfast, reception left a lot to be desired, far from friendly.
J. G.
Went for my grandmothers birthday party very attentive staff, my only complaint would be that the restaurant area was quite warm
T. C.
Maybe we were unlucky but our room was in the attic so it was rather small and hot. However, the staff were friendly and helpful.
S. S.
Fantastic staff . Clean comfy bedroom . Breakfast superb.
N. C.
A very disappointing breakfast, even though we had an early start before the chef had started work the offering was sparse to say the least!

Staff lovely, room clean and quiet but bar closes at 12pm!
