Reviews of Frog and Bucket Comedy Club
S.
Went to a Muslim comedy event here. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. We sat upstairs so had a good view of the stage and to avoid being picked on by the comedians! There's parking close by. Overall a great experience.
B. W.
Had a great time out on a Monday night with some local friends. It was my first night out visiting from the states. Funny enough our table got called out by the Brennan (the hosting comedian) and we had a good laugh. Drinks and food were great as well! Overall a great evening!
M. B.
The acts were superb, really funny comics. A smaller venue with seating all around and table service. The only dropped points were the bar stops serving early (don't you want to keep them there after the event?) so by the time the server came to the table they had just ended. And the table next to us were noisy at first and got told off, but then the guy kept on coming back and telling them off throughout the performance (erm and it wasn't them talking lol) Oh and I got a selfie with a famous Emmerdale star (Although the authenticity was in doubt :-) )

We enjoyed a great Thursday night comedy evening here and will certainly try and visit again.
The comedy was good fun, good drinks choices and maybe next time we will try the food too!
The ordering by phone worked well and we didn’t wait too long for drinks at any point.
It would be great if there was the option to select your table when booking, rather than being allocated. Also the seats would really benefit from some more padding!
J. M.
Comedians were absolutely fantastic. The only downside for me was that you had to wait for drinks for quite a while. I understand the noise needs to stay down for the show but I reckon the solution would be to have an app you can order drinks with? Just a suggestion!
T. A.
Excellent comedy club at least on the night I attended (Monday night -beat the frog) some very good acts. I really can’t fault the comedy, also has quite an interesting atmosphere as the hosts can be interactive (which is code for pick on you) but all good fun. Ambiance is pretty non remarkable, feels like an underground pub.. They do try to fit as many as legally possible in there so can be quick packed
Overall I will certainly recommend,enjoy your evening😄👋

Back in the day I loved coming here. I have now taken my eldest here for a family friendly magic show.
We have been watching the Online shows. And £5.50 for a YouTube link which you watch at home. It's awesome. A great night at home with laughs. Simple too.
I am not saying don't go to the live shows, as that's where it is best. But if you're a sad Billy no mates and live 50 miles away. Give it a try. In fact contact some of your long lost friends and do a YouTube online show, on zoom, drinking too much. Enjoy yourselves.
S. W.
Fab place, good location, great atmosphere. Had a superb night at the Simon Brodkin gig, so expect to see us back as often as allows.
G. S.
Real good night, out of 7 acts there was one that wasn't my style but he still made other people laugh. Drinks and food is all ordered through your phone and there quick to bring it to your table. Food is very nice and at a good price, drinks are what you expect to pay in town. Will be going again that's for sure.
s. b.
Very good start to the evening but if you speak or even do a 👍or👎to the next table door man comes up and say you can't talk when a comedian on stage. He doesn't walk passed the steps to tell anybody else to do this. How do you order a drink if not using the app? If you can't speak then, hospitality staff wonderful. Security/doorman comical 👎

First time I've been here and I enjoyed it, the acts were great! The food however wasn't... The first issue was that they ran out of a few things so the menu was very limited. When the food arrived we weren't given any cutlery or napkins so it was a messy affair. I wouldn't eat here again but other than that it was a good night, friendly and attentive staff.
S. M.
Went here with a group of friends. There were 4 or 5 comedians of varying quality. The food was OK and was reasonable priced. The staff were friendly and helpful especially when I had to move my tickets from Saturday to Sunday night.
C. B.
Great show with great acts on. Unfortunately we went to the early show and as soon as the show finished the bouncers were ushering you out even if you had a full drink and food which was quite rude. They need to give paying customers time at the end to finish their meals and drinks
M. A.
Lovely compact venue, makes you feel like you the one on the stage. Drinks are pub prices.
Parking isn't great in the are.
Venue could do with a good wash down as tables were sticky and the toilets need an overhaul.
D. R.
My wife and I attended the "Bring the Laughter" show at The Frog and Bucket. The show was funny and venue was very nice. The whole show seemed well organized from online ticket purchase to actual show production. We definitely enjoyed it.
s. a.
Fantastic afternoon, bar staff superb, comedy was excellent 👍
T. D.
The Frog & Bucket is the best comedy venue in the UK. It has a pub feel so has an intimacy that you don't get with theatre style comedy venues. Quick table service is the default with reasonably priced drinks and food. Oh, and the comedy is brilliant 😁
N. S.
Fab night, Sarah Millican was excellent even though it was a "practice night". Downside no food available only bar snacks, would have been good to know 😟. Great customer service from the staff, ladies facilities OK but would have been better if all the toilets were complete!
M. D.
Dissapointed with the food offering as most of it wasn't available - which was a shame as what we had was quite nice. Issues with cutlery which took us asking 4 servers for. Otherwise a good night
R.
A fantastic evening of entertainment, 3 incredibly funny acts and the compare was brilliant too. Great atmosphere, loads of fun, lots of laughs, loved it!
J. K.
Went to watch the Muslims are coming home show.
Amazing venue. Reasonably priced drinks.
Top notch atmosphere for shitz and giggles😂
S. N.
Really enjoyed our evening here. Hilarious line up but don't sit too close to the stage, you may get some attention 🤣
V. S.
I really enjoyed a stress free and laughable night here last Thursday. The pizzas were awful in my opinion, very badly, and something was wrong with the beers hence none of my pale ale or Guinness was just right. Service can be improved but I liked the house wine with my reservation. It was a very fun night to be fair and I'll come over again
H. 2.
Had a great laugh here on new talent night...got picked on by the compère...which made my night!
Food order was very delayed due to technical issues...but it was nice once it arrived.
A. G.
Good night and food all the acts were great .the second act was so funny and made me laugh the most .
G. C.
Funny acts, drinks were easy to order as table service, great atmosphere overall
S. G.
Brilliant night highly recommended drinks fairly priced and a lovely atmosphere. Will come back next time we're in Manchester
A. Y.
Had a great valentines day meal and show. Brilliant, watching the next generation of comedians emerge!
E.
Great place for comedy and beer, went with work colleagues, host was amazing and actually funny. Comedians weren't scared to be offensive as well which is always a plus 🤣
H. B.
The comedy itself and the food was amazing but the customer service could have been improved. We had a table booked for 11 it was a round table and the chairs were just lined up in a row against the wall we have the move the chairs ourselves and the staff only helped once we asked
L. B.
Great intimate venue, nice and attentive staff and very reasonable prices both for entry, drinks and food. We visited on beat the frog night, so cheap for tickets and what a good laugh it was, the compère was great! Didn’t try any food but from what I saw it looked good, next time we will get food.
a. s.
No food available despite the website saying there was. Snax were expensive. Acts were good though
Y. S.
Brilliant atmosphere, really nice table set up. Great to be able to order drinks to the table via a QR code. Will definitely be back.
A. B. P.
omdayzz what an eventful evening .. loved it so very funny from start to finish cheeks hurt .. 'alrighty my lovely' brought the acts together fabulously .. originality and novel a great night out .. just book it people treat yourselves.. let your hair down and laugh together at life 🤪👍
D. W.
Brilliant, as always. First day of Christmas parties and festivities were high. Got on the cancellations waitlist and got lumbered with a table right up front, of course, meaning we were the butt of a load of jokes. Great night all round.
A. W.
First time at the frog and bucket had a really good night. Highly recommend. Food good. Could probably do with more servers
W. B.
Following Alex Jones comment below. Your boss and several other people on your table we’ve very rude all night. Swearing at staff and the best thing Frog & Bucket did was kick you out. Comedy was great, food was great!
I would strongly not recommend Oldham Vending Company.
S. d. J.
Went here with a Christmas do. The food was good and plenty, the assortment of drinks to everyone's liking, but you go here for the stand-up. I think the Frog and Bucket is the host of most of the talent in Manchester. I was truly sad it was over after two comedians. We all roared with laughter. Definitely recommended if you can go on one of stand-up nights. They also have open mic nights for the brave.
S. W.
Awesome little place! Great staff and the atmosphere was fantastic. It's a very cosy place but there's plenty of room. Food and drink is served too and whilst I didn't have any at the time, I saw some of the pizzas other people had ordered and they looked delicious! I went to see Diamond Dallas Page on his 2017 UK Tour and had a great time.
k. l.
Fab night out, some great acts on and the food was lovely!
The app made it so much easier and convenient to order drinks straight to the table, no queuing at the bar waiting to be served.
R. J. A.
Absolutely fabulous.... Had a great time. Drinks slightly expensive but the comedy made up for it.....
W. D.
Small intimate venue, great comedy performances. Staff service is very quick although toilets need updating.
N. D.
A good night's of comedy, but I didn't realise the kitchen and bar were part of the acts! The menu consists of about a dozen pizza's and 3 types of fries, sadly they ran out of pizza dough before any acts had even started and the bar wasn't fully stocked either 🙄🤣
J. M.
Pre booked tickets months ago for this show, was not disappointed, the MC was probably the funniest act of the night, well priced food and drinks but I found the whole allocation of table situation very strange, if you book as a couple be prepared to share a table with another couple sitting across from one another. Couple of the acts didn't quite cut the mustard for me but taste in comedy is personal to everyone, just not my cup of tea. Overall a great night and would return
I. P.
Took a girl I met on a date stopping off at the frog. Packed, comedy was not bad and overall a decent night out. She enjoyed it with my company. Happy days all round.
L. M.
Not a bad experience, some great comedy but the odd bit of absolute tosh. Beer service is the faster I've seen, like wetherspoons on acid
R. D.
Amazing atmosphere, great night all round
n. b.
Loved it from start to finish, can't wait to go back again
S. O.
Personally it's a bit packed and dark, although being a comedy club and other venue for talk like events, it's not too bad, and probably servers my favourite Pale Ale so far (MPA, Manchester Pale Ale)
S. G.
Had a great night . Only reason I knock off 1 star is because the tables were so close together we were uncomfortable for the duration . But over all it was a great night x
A. P.
Tables were very sticky but was a good night overall, 1 of the 3 comedians weren't great but the other 2 were and I guess that made it a solid show and worth the money spent. Just not a great location at that time unfortunately. Would possibly go again.
D. A.
Spending a trip in Manchester, this was a wonderful experience. I had booked online and the seating from what I know is random. We still had great seats. They have a small but delicious menu for food and great drink service. We saw 3 comedians on a Friday night. Everyone was great and the host of the show really made it a wonderful experience. Would be happy to see another show one day.
M. C.
Great venue, and the Monday night beat the frog thing is great.
A. B.
Best night, great service, nonstop laughs😃 best place for a good safe night out.
R. T.
Brilliant night, haven't laughed so much in a very long time.
L. J. B.
Small intimate comedy club, has only lost one star in my rating due to the heat, it gets so hot! Otherwise a great venue!
A. T.
Came here on a saturday night and had a great time! Also had food which was great and there was a wide selection! Drinks reasonably priced and a friendly atmosphere! Can't wait to come back!
T. B.
Seating at tables were not spaced out enough. Chrissy Rock was really funny. Able to order drinks at table was convenient. Nice, small venue.
M. D.
Brilliant night out, fantastic acts and a great crowd
A. M.
Great night full of laughs, great atmosphere and great service with the drinks!
G. H.
Amazing atmosphere brilliant gig. Just a star off purely for the beer options.
L. H.
Loved it! Great night with friends and the comedians were all pretty good, one guy who wasn't my cup of tea, other friends enjoyed so there's a bit of something for everyone. Drinks came fairly quick and was generally well organised
N. H.
Brilliant night! Staff were unbelievable, as soon as our drinks we're nearly finished a lovely girl working upstairs was straight over! food was lovely too, top crispy wings! Some quality comedians! Can see a few making it big! #vixout #feelformattyalthoughhewasabellendtoo "👉👉"
A. A.
fantastic club to perform or watch, the room is intimate with great views, service, and talent. as a performer, they provide loads of opportunity for comics to hone their craft and come up in the scene but they do this without costing the audience a great show. i’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of comedy clubs in the states and the uk, this one definitely stacks up with the best. tickets are cheap as well!
L. M.
Great night watching Alyssa Edwards. Good venue and reasonable drinks prices for Manchester city centre. Everything well organised by staff! A great night!
T. L.
Get yourself in there, loads of laughs, nice environment, friendly staff, all round great place, didn't manage to get a pizza but looked really good and the chips were spot on
S. R.
Absolute hilarious night will definitely be going again
K. B.
Decent choice at the bar and plenty of staff serving. Just disappointed that as a group of 5 we were relegated to the back of of theatre as all tables set up for couples. No parking that I could find nearby so check in advance where you will park
S. C.
Fantastic staff. Many a great comedian watched in this venue. Some of the seats have limited visibility of the projector if used in the show. Otherwise this is a venue that rarely has an evening that disappoints.
M. W. (.
Had a great night. The compare was ace very funny .the two warm-up acts were good also .altogether a good night out .
f.
came here with a couple of friends who were visiting to see the “beat the frog” show and had a great night out!! the staff were lovely and the food was really good
only downside was we were sat right under a speaker and got our ears blown out every time someone spoke too loud into the mic :’]
E. b.
Had the best time for my hisbands birthday the compare Brennan was amazing .really made our night. And a big thankypi to Oliver the bar tender so polite and friendly. Big well done guys .definitely will be back especially to see Brennan and the lovely Oliver he is amazing xx
N. H.
Fab night out, great atmosphere, fast table service for drinks
L. J.
Excellent. All the acts we saw were great, Dan Nightingale was outstanding. Food and drink were excellent value and social distancing was very well implemented. Shout to the staff who were doing such a great job of table service.
M. B.
Amazing place with possibility to eat Burgers or pizzas (Don t expect amazing burgers but they are alright). Beer is good and the shows were hilarious
L. K.
First time for us, really enjoyed it but, one thing wasn't really happy with was where we were seated, we were a party of 4 all in our sixties & we were sat in the second tier in a booth on high seats, they were not comfotable at all, other than that the entertainment was brilliant, food good & service was exellent, had to wait a while for drinks but, it was Friday night, staff worked hard & very friendly.
J. M.
Hoped for better! We visited straight after lockdown and expected them to come back with a bang. Maybe bring someone in that could cause a buzz - but no, we had three very average acts. The Compare once again was the best and funniest person on the stage. You really need to start spending more on acts, bargain basement talent isnt working for you.
A. G. U.
Best afternoon I’ve had in months! The staff were great too and friendly. We had the best seats in the house (IMO). 3 great comedians and an ok MC
M. H.
Great night as always at the Frog and Bucket! So good in fact that we have watched 2 more Beat the Frog nights on the live stream since as we couldn't make them!
A. J.
Had an excellent time here on a work's Christmas party. Comedians were well chosen, giving all a good laugh, the food much better than expected and we had some great music choices from the DJ for the disco. Only minor issue was that the tables were crammed in a bit snug during the meal and show which did make it difficult to get around, including to the bar.
S. H.
Fantastic show of Tova Leigh.
An intimate venue with great views no matter where you sit. Very welcoming staff.
D. S.
What a great place! it was our first time here and will definitely be back. table serves, good entertainment was all good.
K. U.
Seats were a little tight, but comedy was very funny and the food and drinks were good, the service is what makes this stand out though
t. b.
Good acts on when I was there. Even tho it was Petty much full did not feel to crowded. We had food before the show pizza or burgers food was nice. Drinks a bit on the expensive side but they had deals on the pichers I found out after the first few drinks. Overall a good night would go again.
s. r.
Very nice and helpful staff. Room a bit small but nice meal and great comedy
S. H.
Comedy was amazing. Really funny. Great viewing experience even with social distancing. Very well organised. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is the cocktail pitchers are not great.
s. m.
See guz Khan here last week. Lovely venue
C. K.
Definitely a good night, at least the Friday laugh barrels event that I have attended. But tables too packed!
D. E.
Great night, especially as we're now out of lock down. 3 really good comics and the pizzas were fresh and tasty.
R. I.
Excellent acts as always - just a great atmosphere to see everyone out and enjoying themselves. Service was a bit slow at times but understandable due to the adjustments they've had to make
R. S.
Great venue! We came to see John Robertson's Dark Room. I initially was surprised at how compact the frog and bucket is but somehow the layout works well in a comedy setting because it does a great job of making everyone feel involved with the show. There's an intimacy about it I enjoyed very much! Loses one star a little harshly for the balcony area being very warm in the corner where we sat, which also obscured our view somewhat. Next time we will arrive earlier to get better seats!
G. W.
The best entertainment I've had in a good while, absolutely brilliant 👏
T. R.
Great place! You get your own table and you can order food to it, the bar is a bit busy but not to bad. The acts we watched had me crying with laughter! 100% would go back and 100% recommend this place!
R. R. (.
Really great entertainment, had a really good laugh. Excellent organization, excellent service and food. The acts were fantastic.
J. B.
What a laugh, great night out, can't beat "Beat the frog" on a Monday night fir new talent, fantastic bar and food selections too!
R. C.
2nd time here and had a brilliant night
M.
Well stocked bar with a decent cocktail menu, not a cheap bar but certainly reasonable for a city centre place.
Our seats were not the best but we did book very late so no complaints there.
They are very strict on talking/ disturbing the acts (which I think is a good thing, I'm just mentioning it)
There is a break between each act to allow drinks to be bought, the bar is well managed and they put extra staff behind at the breaks so you get served quickly.
Comedians were very well received the night we were there.
Will go back, thanks frog and bucket.
L. M.
Went to see the Dark Room. Funniest thing ever! Will be back later in the year, don’t miss it!
D. H.
Great night out, no point commenting on the acts as obviously they're different every time. Staff are very friendly, and the pIzza we ordered was much better than we expected. If you enjoy a beer and a laugh in a relaxed atmosphere this is for you. Drinks were surprisingly reasonable for city centre.
C. D.
Loved performing here tbh, it's a nice fun and welcoming environment, Beat the Frog is great fun with a variety of acts. Lots of crowd support too in fairness.
M. M.
Saw the Spontaneous Players here with their improvised Harry Potter story. It was absolutely side splitting! I also tried the Manchester Pale Ale and the Shed Head, both were good beers. The MPA is a very smooth ale. The atmosphere was lovely, we were seated on the balcony and though our view was slightly obstructed, there was a nearby projection of the show to watch on the wall.
Overall a delightful visit and I'd be happy to come again.
L. M.
Amazing comedy show! Food was ok. Service lovely. The comedians were hilarious!
A. D.
Past experiences of comedy clubs are one good comedian and two average at best.. I went here Saturday 22nd September 2018 and was massively surprised, the quality of the acts was fantastic, really funny. Bar prices reasonable, friendly staff and good food! The bouncers quickly dealt with a rowdy group of 40(!) on a stag party who wouldn't shut up and so they didn't stay long enough to ruin the experience. Would definitely recommend!
R. H.
First comedy club I have been to. Well presented and very funny compere. Fast table service and welcoming staff. Will be returning
J. R.
Great place for a good laugh. We prebooked for a Friday night in January. We got meals with out tickets and had pizza and fries. The meals were nice, bit too much salt on the fries but otherwise all good.
The compere was brilliant and the comedians were very good. Happy and helpful staff. Well worth a visit (aslong as your not easily offended) if you in Manchester.
S. C.
One of my favourite cheap nights out in the city centre. Would particularly recommend the Monday night "Beat The Frog" where amateur comediennes compete to be named the winner and be invited back for the final show down. Entry is cheap, or free with student ID and you can get a delicious pizza for just £5!
C. W.
Great comedy. Nibbles would have been great. Ladies with 3 loo's but 1 without a seat.
L. K.
I had a great time at Saturday barrel of laughs and the acts were excellent. I was asked to move seat so a group could sit together and was given a free drink for doing so, even though I ended up moving up a much better table. That's good service! The pizza is delicious too.
L. S.
Fantastic venue. Brilliant acts. Great food. Plenty of bar staff so short queues at the bar. Staff are quick to react to any trouble in a smooth manner and ensure that all customers have an undisturbed and fantastic evening. Highly recommend.
M. B.
Watched Adam Rowe. Was excellent. Saw him at the comedy store in Deansgate last year.
Only thing that wasn't great was the chairs. They are so uncomfortable. I had bad back problems and the chairs were like old assembly chairs that we used to have in school. Other than that the venue was fine. Bar prices reasonable.
A. M.
Good range of drinks at reasonable price for city centre. We saw a number of different acts and all were great. The compere involved the crowd and got people warmed up well. Bar seevice was quick and friendly.
T. B.
I've only been to the Friday and Saturday nights but can definitely say it's worth every penny. Such fun nights to be had there. All I'd suggest is if you're a young couple or only just started dating, don't turn up too early after the doors open otherwise you'll be placed on the tables right in front of the stage - easy pickings for any of the comedian.
T. G.
I went to the frog and bucket a few weeks ago and it was an amazing night out with me and my girlfriend. The host and the comedians were all hilarious and I was crying with laughter. However, the food was meh a bit pricey but other than that is a very good night out.
S. D.
Awesome night on a Saturday. Turned up on the door without the ticket, but they still had some standing room so let us in.
Fantastic acts and a spectacular compere.
Definitely drop in if you're in the neighborhood
A. B.
Great night. Don't think Oldham vending were happy 😋
A. S.
A good night for sure but generally speaking from my experience there over the years, the calibre of the comedians is not quite as good as the Comedy Store down the road (although obviously you do have the same acts play both at times - this is generally speaking).
One annoying thing for me (which might be ok for others) they don't half pad out the night with what feels like a break after every set so that they can maximise cash over the bar. It feels much less about the comedy than the Comedy Store and perhaps more about an overall party experience/lively night out.
Probably more suited to big groups, stag/hen parties etc that want the best of both, a bit of comedy and plenty of time to chat/booze etc in between acts. If you're more about seeing some of the best comics in town I'd opt for the Comedy Store every time.
M. K.
A great venue it's small only 200-300 ppl at an estimate. But the atmosphere was brilliant so close to the act and everyone joined in the jokes when required. Bar staff worked hard and fast can't fault them served Manchester pale ale which I love. Saw Adam Kay he was hilarious would def recommend.
E. G.
Make sure you get there early to be given a good seat. If you get sat near the front expect some interaction with the compare + acts.
On the night we visited, the middle act didn't seem to get the crowd on side which resulted in people visiting the bar during her set & people talking amongst themselves. The act could hear the background noise & seemed to be put off by it (kept checking her watch) but didn't seem to be able to regain control of the room.
The compare was very good with just the right balance of banter & put downs with the different types of clientele (mainly couples & stag do's).
Would definitely recommend a visit next time you are planning a night out in Manchester.
T. T. (. C.
A disappointing night of comedy with only a couple of decent acts out of five, but to be fair most of the audience seemed to enjoy much of it.
I go to a lot of stand up and this was one of the poorest line ups I've experience. Buzzing atmosphere though and a nice venue for comedy. The super thin pizza was great.
They had issues with the card machine so were cash only all evening, which was a pain.
T. L.
Went on a Mon night
Staff extremely helpful and overall was a good night
Small venue full of atmosphere and beat the frog was fun.... Keep up the good work
K. D.
Brilliant night. Only thing that lets it down is bar staff have no awareness of who is stood at the bar. My daughter last night waited twenty minutes to try and get served but whoever is the tallest, loudest, cheekiest got served first. Not a sign of good bar staff. Other than that the comedy was brilliant.
M. E.
This place is quite small, I booked ahead and there was only standing available but there wasn't really a standing area, it was crowded with tables and was hard to find somewhere to stand that wasn't in front of someone sat down at a table. Although the comedy was good and it was good value for money. Although the bouncers did shh a few people a few times, not sure if that was a good or bad thing to be honest.
M. “.
Tasty food at reasonable prices, friendly staff, reasonable drinks. Entry price is good for the entertainment value.
Top tip go to the bar during the acts to be served a lot faster. Just a slight risk of being made part of the show.
C. S.
Thursday night at the frog and bucket was a great laugh the host and last act were the best. Acts before weren't so funny but the host was hilarious he should have his own video. Great venue and very reasonable priced drinks doorstaff and bar staff very friendly would definitely book again
S. M.
I'm a big fan of the Frog and Bucket. I've been going for about 10 years and it's always got a great atmosphere.
It feels much more like a "friendly pub" than a number of other comedy clubs. It's pretty small, the stage is tiny and the front rows are literally fingertip distance from the stage. I like that from the perspective of the comedian interacting with the audience.
There are generally decent drinks offers on, particularly mid week, and the food is great too.
L. P.
Great staff and acts. The venue is well built for the purpose; the best seats are downstairs I'd believe. Upstairs seating, whilst it has a dedicated bar, if they can not see the stage, they'll see a projector.
Pricing can be rather steep for occasion. Food pretty good, but for should just about justify the costs for it.
C. B.
Been here lots of times in the past few years, and it's always a great night. Brilliant choice of comedians, always lots of variety in their performing styles too.
Decent food & beer, and a good laugh. What more do you want?
C. P.
The food is really good and the tickets are well-priced. Love the Beat the Frog nights on Monday- the host (the ginger bloke) is on fire! Would recommend anybody to go and have a good laugh here. So much better than just going to the pub!
B. M.
A mixed bag when it comes to food and service; the burgers felt defrosted while the chips were top notch. Although busy, made it feel a little bit like we were forgotten. A great venue but not at the top of my list.
K. D.
Good comedy store, comedians are great, all I would say is it slightly pricey for drinks. A cocktail is the same price you would pay in an actual cocktail bar. Other than that though, great atmosphere, great comedy, nice food, great evening out.
D. R.
Right where to start....
The particular acts we viewed whilst here where great very funny and we enjoyed them a lot.
The food was delightful considering we where in a comedy club in the middle of Manchester.
We had a great night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
My only negative is the price of the drinks. I feel it is quite steep, but after several you just forget about it and laugh away.
A. C.
Always great value and very entertaining and a great venue. Often have special offers for comedy nights too. Reasonably priced drinks, some real ales on tap and great food. Burgers pizzas sharing platters etc all great value. Staff friendly too.
A. I.
I've visited this place a few times - not for comedy, but for ProductTank events. Narrow rows and lots of chairs packed in. But, this venue had lots of character and the staff are generally friendly. From what I can see, it's not the best choice if you have mobility issues though. Steps up to the main room. And, more steps up to a balcony that overlooks the stage. It's like a mini theatre, the way it's set up. Definitely no place to hide if you're there for a comedy night!
M. A.
Really good Venue get a good view from anywhere u sat. The staff are really friendly. We went to watch John Robertsons the dark room on Sunday night was really good and funny as always. If u ever see him being advertised I highly recommend to go and watch the show.
E. F.
Very nice ambience in here for comedy, the bar is well staffed and the drink prices are pretty reasonable. The audio visual system is decent and the stage well lit so you don't have to worry too much if seated nearer the back or on the ground floor. Free admission for students on a Monday which is a nice bonus.
J. C.
Nice set up and atmosphere as not too big. Compare was brilliant but unfortunately the comedian's when we went weren't the best and there seemed to be more intervals than acts. Would give it another try!
J. M.
Great ambience, comedy was fab and some real laughs here. Only issue is the queues for the bar. Even having a wee bottle bar or someone going round just selling bottles quickly could maybe combat the three deep queues at every break, but can't fault the giggles and the vibe.
C. B.
We had our Xmas Do here last night...brilliant. All the staff were really friendly and the food was absolutely delicious..well done Chef. It was my first time here, but definitely won'the be my last. The two comedians were really, really good ably assisted by the MC, Mr McLoughlin. Really, really great night...thanks
J. P.
Quite a lot of us went for stag do last week and loved all 3 acts. The last 2 though were brilliant and exactly my sense of humour. The compare between the acts was also very good at interacting with people. All in all we had a right laugh and would definitely go again!
T. A.
Good night. Great laugh.
D. C.
Just watched Sarah Millican. Beer, food and atmosphere was fantastic.
B. G.
Very good
N. P.
Absolutely hilarious and the food was very tasty! Will definitely be back!
S. D.
Awesome night, great atmosphere 💯
S. H.
Very good. Very funny. Good service
D. T.
Brill night out atmosphere wonderful along time coming
P. M.
Excellent comedy, pleasant venue (feels covid safe).
K. C.
Fantastic, friendly staff and great atmosphere, all whilst being very safe!
D. R.
Great venue
M. T.
Absolutely fantastic night. The acts were all really funny. Food was average and drinks pricey but it's not the food we went for, it was the comedy which was top notch
K. L.
Excellent evening! A Great venue with everything you would need. The 3 acts I saw were so funny and the compere was hilarious! A great night, I more than recommend
K. W.
There is a night each month where people with a range of disabilities can enjoy a live singer and a dance floor to themselves. I took a group from the service I work for and a fabulous time was had by all. Highly recommended for others with a range of needs!
s. r.
Great venue for comedy...beer and food prices about standard for manchester town centre
j. b. (. J. b.
Amazing place, brilliant stage, room for 250 audiences.
J. M.
Very nice atmoshere. Had a really good time. Prices of alcohol not the cheapest but resonable.
R. B.
Great venue, table service, good comics and value for money
R. C.
Came to see a fantastic group of comedians, out to entertain, in support of a fantastic cause...superstars, the lot of them! Felt privileged to be among the audience for such a fab event! All credit to Mike for organising the event...😀
J. N.
Great food, fun atmosphere and lively audience. Drinks averagely priced for manchester city centre. Would definitely recommend it. All 4 acts and compare were spot on! :)
P. S.
Beat the frog is a great night to test out material for new comedians and a great night for comedy fans to see tomorrows comedians
C. F.
Some really good acts that get the audience involved, super easy to find and no dramas booking in. What you want when looking for a quick and easy mid week evening/night out. Shall recommend to friends. Thankyou F&B.
M. S.
Great little comedy club in the heart of Manchester, the MC is brilliant and the food was spot on. Would definitely recommend a visit.
A.
Been 4 times - hit and miss what kind of acts are on. Some are really good but last time we went the second act wasn't great. I guess it depends on your sense of humor! Beer is expensive, pizza is delicious.
E. R.
Always good to come here for live stand up comedy. I would recommend to book at least a week in advance. There is also a basic menu to choose from. But needs to be pre ordered. Location is good. Its always full house so is a bits on the crowed side. Break inbetween acts so you can pop out side to stretch your legs if needed
K. C. (.
The venue is awesome and has a kind of upstairs mezzanine where you can look down at the act. They had a good trendy menu and the food we had was good quality and a cheap price. Great night and will go again for sure
C. H.
Brilliant night. Great staff. Definitely going to come back .
M. M.
Attended Thursday night comedy this week, but didn’t end up staying for the whole thing. Too many breaks, I assume to encourage everyone to buy more drinks, so it dragged on a bit and we left before the night finished.
k. p.
Brilliantly fabulous night, am already looking what we can book next, all covid measures where in place, felt very safe
P. D.
A good night out in Manchester. Always have a laugh when I go to the frog and bucket. Only issues are the bar is too small and not enough staff at peak times and the furniture is a tad uncomfortable. But a fun night out nevertheless
c. n.
Friendly staff, fair ticket prices, great entertainment overall!! Been there a few times now and every time is a great experience. Highly recommended for an easy going, casual night.
D. N.
Good atmosphere. Acts OK headline better. Yet another female comedian hosting and talking about her fanny...need to move on...its getting old...the concept not her fanny.
C. A.
A great night out, cheap entry. Went on a Monday night for their 'beat the frog' event where amateurs compete and test their material so needless to say there will be both great and less than great acts, but the place was full, and it was a fun night out :-)
E. K.
The Monday night show is great. For just £3 you can watch a bunch of amateur comedians trying material - some are great, and some are... not. All in all though, it's a cheap night and a good, casual activity on a Monday night.
J. H.
Great Thursday night out. Pre ordered food was good value and as stated was delivered a quarter of an hour after arriving. Like a well oiled machine everything ran smoothly.
W. W.
The night I was there was really not very good, the comedy was more offensive than anything and some of the comedians seemed to lack basic comedic timing. The food is alright but can be pricey depending on what you order
D. S.
Totally brilliant place. Very friendly and a bundle of laughs.
L. 2.
Didn't eat here unfortunately but the place is great, nice place to be staff are excellent and the beer is cold 👌.
L. G.
Brilliant comedy club. The Friday and Saturday night shows are spot on featuring 3 brilliant comedian's.
A. S.
Been here a few times over the years as its Manchester's biggest dedicated comedy club. Recently went to see a couple of mates perform. Food wasnt great but beer Ok and its a sensible layout with very high stage for maximum comedy viewing
a. c.
Always a great wrestling show. Great cosy venue
T. R.
Always a good giggle to be had at the Frog & Bucket, food and drink is a bit pricey but then everywhere else is in the area. Beat the Frog for new talent on a Monday can be a bit hit and miss but worth a look if you're at a loose end.
J. N.
Des and myself both went there round the middlemost of October. Not surprisingly Des was late getting us there which is no drama. Almost 3 years on i thing i could be used to it.. So he was really nervous about going in late and he actually was it was funny. Acts were top class and were i thought very lenient on us for our tardiness. I would most def recommend and would go again my self. If i ever find any one to take me that is.. Humor...
Down to earth, real and enjoyable.
R. D.
Ticket prices on Monday night are too high, given the fact that it's a gong show and most of the performers are still learning. Beer is too pricy as well.
Z. S.
Fun night out for a good change of routine
N. C.
Fantastic night out. Great acts. Should give it a try.
B. M.
Comedy clubs can be hit and miss but Frog and Bucket nails it. I am only a casual comedy fan but I have never been disappointed this venue which really lends itself to live comedy. Definitely worth checking out the Monday night Beat the Frog for cheap laughs.
P. H.
Went to the Comedy Course Showcase. The show was brilliant and we got to see a number of potential stars of the future. The compere was funny too. Food and drink available.
M. p.
Lovely comedy club. Funny, fresh, and engaging. The beat the frig event in a Friday night is well worth the admission price. (free if you're a student)
J. C.
Great night, great acts. Will be returning!
M. B.
Comedy club was fine, food and drink service was more of a joke than the comedians.
M. W.
Monday nights are great especially for £5! The night had a lot of laughs and it being beat the frog night even better. Would recommend everyone to give it a try.
A.
Great food, quality comedy. The rules set up a good, relaxing and enjoyable environment. Isn't that expensive and supports comedians! Great experience, worth a try! ♥️
S. B.
Had a really good night there. Will definitely go back.
Great atmosphere and the Compare did a really good job of keeping the giggles going.
C.
Great comedians, love the setting with the tables. Just the drinks are too expensive especially since you already pay 24 entrance fee.
c. g.
Comedy was great, we went for our Christmas party. The only criticism is that they got our food order wrong so by the time my food came out everyone else had finished.
d. n.
Comedy is alive and well thanks to places like this and let's face it, we all need a bloody laugh. Great place, lovely people.
S. A.
Fantastic late night comedy. Really enjoyed it. Overall a ending (11pm show) or even beginning (6pm show) to a good Saturday night out.
K. H.
Absolutely brilliant compare awesome aswell as all 3 acts
E. S.
Have been a couple of times and was great every time!
J. B.
Having watched gigs & performed at beat the frog, couldn't recommend this place enough. Beat the frog is a great cheap night but you won't regret paying the extra to see a professional show on one of the other nights.
I. L.
Went to the comedy night on Pride weekend, really funny line up and great atmosphere. Food menu looked fair, and pints not too expensive (unlike the cocktails!)
J. R.
Good night, could just be hard to get served. Got overcharged for something and had to live with it because of the queues and not being spotted at the time by us! Good night out all the same!
T. A.
Great night out! Brilliant host! Hilarious acts!
S. C.
Relaxing venue, nice crowd, funny gig. Downside was the standing ticket meant "squeeze yourself in around the seated people wherever you can find a space", which was a bit awkward
A. l.
Funny funny wish the whole session was longer
K. e.
First time at the venue .Venue ok bit dark and dingy ...toilets need cleaning stank of urine ... chairs bit rough and ready seating bit cramed .pizza I ordered was ok ...if I go with interesting people to see a good act Ur have a good time here ...if not ahhh it will be a loonng .
K. T.
Went on a Friday night, had a cracking time. Acts we're hilarious and the staff were friendly. Average price for drinks etc
J. T.
Great local venue with a long tradition of fantastic acts. Seen some wonderful comics and beat the frog is a great laugh alway a witty compare.
S. C.
Loved the place and show, but not good to stand at bar for 40 mins to get served, whilst others came and went. There were 4 bar staff all just serving the centre bar area and ignoring those not stood centre. 😑
A. W.
Gabby was a great comedian had a top laughter made my best friends birthday a good night out... Definitely suggest a night out here ladies and gentlemen
C. B.
A fantastic night of real comedy! Just go there if you're in Manchester.
D. B.
The staff are friendly and the hosts really try and make sure you have a good time. It is a bit of a scruffy atmosphere to other venues in Manchester but worth a try.
a. H.
fantastic night and all amazing acts good to laugh!
S. M.
Great night out, 4 comedians were great, food was good as well, will definitely go back
B. S.
Awesome venue, had a brilliant time.
G. a. P.
Absolutely great fun. John Robertson's Dark Room performance was totally on fire. An amazing time was had by all.
R. Z.
They offer great Wednesday nights once a month when comedians test new material & its only a fiver each - good selection of drinks & finger food.
A. A.
Great show and social distancing measures were taken very seriously.
M. L.
Quality comedy in Manchester. A variety of acts throughout the week with special recurring nights that are regularly hilarious. Beat the Frog is a particular highlight for a Monday night - £3 tickets/free for students.
N. P.
Absolutely hilarious and the food was very tasty! Will definitely be back!
J. W.
Beat the frog Mondays. Amazing. Great value recommendation is the brie bacon burger. Comedy is amazing. AWESOME venue
K. M.
Create comedy club. Really nice good and a good selection of drinks. Can get beer, cocktails, spirits and wine.
A. W.
Brilliant comedy night... Perfect antidote to the restrictions
K. M.
Had a great night out would recommend and would definitely go again
I. B.

p. d.

n. C.
Went on a Monday night for Beat the Frog. Atmosphere was great, act not so much, but with a glass of wine, those guys definitely sound funnier 😂
B. G.
Very good
I. R.
Nice night out, the comedy acts were very good despite me not hearing of any of them before. There's something for everyone in terms of the content.
S. M.
Great night out, friendly staff great night out. Highly recommended
J. S. (.
Excellent venue for what was an excellent night of comedy. If it's even half as good as the night I went you'll love it

A. D.
Went to watch tiny tim. Very nice venue very nice staff. Tim was amazing
S. D.
Awesome night, great atmosphere 💯
Z. L.
The comedy was great, three very funny acts. Sadly the bar staff weren't exactly on the ball and the drink prices are very high.
C. H.
Great venue for an expo. Really good space with stage. I can imagine comedy gigs would be great to watch there too.
C. L.
Big Lou comedian is just the funniest man, great hostess, great venue and even a boogie at the end of the night! Brill cant wait to come back
V. T.
Good food, good drinks, good acts. Only down side bar small so takes a while to be served and was very warm inside
a. m.
Brilliant gig brilliant atmosphere and even better comedians!
b. f. t. P.
Love live amateur comedy. It's half price for students so it's full of students and generally the humour is tailored to them.
D. C.
Just watched Sarah Millican. Beer, food and atmosphere was fantastic.
k. h.
Absolutely love this place, atmosphere was great and the food was lovely. I went to see Kiri Pritchard McClean and had a brilliant night.
B. c.
Great venue, good food, beer selections not bad, but your not going for food or drink. So all good
P. M.
Excellent comedy, pleasant venue (feels covid safe).
J. O.
Great entertainment and good atmosphere. Food seemed good quality for the price and the comedy was fantastic as well!
S. T.
Mega live stand up. Absolutely in pieces crying laughing. Food was ace too.

Wifi Wars and Dark Room were amazing. Bar itself was great - staff were friendly and prices were very reasonable.
K. C.
Fantastic, friendly staff and great atmosphere, all whilst being very safe!
L. W.
I loved doing the gig here. Great crowd. Thanks!!
K. B.
The comedians were great. Only thing stopping it being 5 stars is the pricey nature of the drinks/food.
M. B.
Great night lots of laughs good food.
J. L.
Amazing night, first time there for me and my daughter. Will definitely be going again 👍
m. s.
Extremely welcoming atmosphere and nights that are affordable and drinks that aren't too expensive, go here if you want to laugh and then keeping laughing afterwards.
P. H.
Always good. Great intimate comedy venue. Food us ok these days too.
S. F.
Great time. Especially on Mondays when they have the 'beat the frog' challenge which sees amateur comedians come onstage for 5 minutes and tried not to get voted off
S. L.
Great seats and great place to watch amateur comedians
T. E.
I absolutley loved my evening there. Brilliant atmosphere, would definitley recommend for an entertaining evening.
K. M.
Great place really friendly atmosphere really recommend for a great night out. Bar prices are reasonable for city center as well.

J. N.

Good comedians, but the crowd isn't the best. XS Malarkey better venue for true comedy fans. Expensive drink.
C. N.
Brilliant night at Beat The Frog, would recommend. Cheap and cheerful food and drinks too.
I. W.
A fun and modern club with seating on two floors and large video screens to assist those with limited eye-lines to the stage. Friendly bar staff.

Great acts, great service and very friendly staff. Only slightly cramped due to the many tables
J. E.
Food good, comedians funny and bar prices not too bad for the centre of Manchester.
Staff found to be friendly too 🙂
K.
Really good day here! Friendly staff and funny acts

I. B.
Great night out with a bucket full of laughs and a chance to see some new and up and coming stars. All the greats have played there.
R. D.
Fun and different to a typical night out. Pot luck on the entertainment though! Good night though!
K. W.
Is normally brilliant but to many people were allowed to chat during the acts, ruined a much looked forward to evening.
M. A.
Comedians very funny, bar service a bit slow hence the 4*, entrance and seating very prompt and welcoming.
M. N.
Great evening's entertainment..food to a decent standard. Only downside, it was a bit cramped in there.
I. O. S.
